Best thing to happen to my life since the birth of my daughter. I love me some espresso and the wife is all about her hot cocoa so it's really handy that we can share this awesome piece of machinery. Always perfect temperature. Milk is always perfectly frothy. Super happy with our purchase. All you formula parents out there would love this! Instead of using a microwave and getting hot spots within the formula, just use this bad boy. If my wife didn't go the bewb juice route, I would have another one of these just for feeding the tot. Excellent buy!

GOOD machine but needs minor tweaks...

Overall, it's a very good machine and makes a great cup of coffee BUT it could use a couple of minor tweaks, specifically:
1. The knob that controls the steam wand doesn't always sit in the "off" position properly, which will cause hot water to come shooting out of the wand when you are done steaming the milk and are extracting an espresso; and,
2. The drip tray does not collect excess water too well. It often collects in the space between the bottom of the drip tray and the base of the machine and spills onto the counter.
I considered returning the machine for both of these reasons but came to the conclusion that they were worth dealing with because I couldn't find a comparable machine for anything remotely close to the price I paid for this one. And, like I said... At the end of the day, it makes a great cup of coffee.

I bought this programmable espresso machine to replace my manual one from Cuisinart. It makes great espresso and lattes. Might take a little while to figure out how to use it. Keep the manual handy.

The Cuisinart is perfect for my Coffee Shop, the different functions allow me to prepare all the favorite coffee drinks(hot and cold). I compared the prices before purchase and found that Best Buy had the Best Buy.

I thought I'd give my out of the box experience and add down the line. This is my first machine; I got tired of paying those prices at the coffee shop and leaving my house to get that perfect latte. The all stainless steel design seems strong and looks good. I do have to hold the machine down when I put the portafilter on/off. I also bought a gaggia ginder which i paid more for than my espesso machine. I got my machine/grinder before i got the coffee I ordered so ran down to the small local grocery store and got some starbucks beans. And I'm using bottled water.
My first impression is...WOW. This was really easy and great tasting out of the chute. I was making latte's to my taste immediately. There was no extra water in the portafilter when I was done so I knew I was getting the right grind setting and tamping. And frothing the milk was alot easier than I expected. The temperatures all seemed right, I have a themometer coming for the frothing cup but not sure I need it. I used 8 oz milk to a double shot of espresso and just frothed til the milk was at the top of the pitcher. Yes I like it strong, lol. I will probably get a bigger pitch so I can put a couple more oz's of milk in. And I will be experimenting with the brew times.
The machine does not have any leaking of water anywhere, at this point and seems to be working well. Time will tell. I don't find it overly loud. There seems to be more water in the drip tray than i expected; I'm not sure where this is coming from. But it's in the drip tray so all is good. I rated excellent for value for price because the machine has all the settings I wanted and are useful to me. I rated one notch down on durablility just for having to hold the machine down while taking the portafilter on/off. And I rated usefulness, again, because this machine has all the settings I want but I think there is going to be an issue with the frothing wand using a larger pitcher. It's already difficult to use the wand with the pitcher that came with it on a counter top and I want to make larger drinks. I guess my other options is to froth twice but that would mean double the foam on top as well. More experimentation.
I will come back and add in a couple/few months and see if my rating is the same.

great expresso maker for a beginner

This is my first time using an expresso maker and I must say that this one is very easy to use. I did experience a bit of trouble with the milk frother because after you make your expresso (to make a cappuccino) you have to hit the steam button where it will begin to flash blue then you have to wait till it becomes a solid blue. Once that happens you switch the dial to the left for steam and can steam the milk.
It looks nice and is a decent price. Also besides expresso mugs, the device will only fit the standard 8oz mugs, anything bigger will not fit and will cause you to scratch the bottom where the drip tray lies.

I almost didn't get this espresso maker because of some of the reviews I've read. I got it anyway and I'm glad I did. I haven't had any issues with it yet. It makes a great espresso. The lasts two cheap espresso makers I bought, broke on me right out of the box. I finally decided to get one of quality. I'm extremely happy with this one so far.

This machine was not my first choice, but is better than i ever expected.
This em200 espresso maker is fast, easy to use and clean compared to the others i've owned. The push button brewing is so nice and makes one excellent tasting espresso product, it's quick from start to finish, about 3-4 min. The unit comes apart easly, easily to clean
The stainless steel shell is beautiful and cleans up easily. Their is room under the portafilter for a regular sized coffee cup, so making latte's is easy. love this machine!!
The product is great, but best buy online ordering was not the best. There selection is weak, they have alot listed but most are backordered or not available for shipping... The only reason I orderd from them was I had a x-mas gift card, and they had no selection of espresso makers in stores in the tri-state area, but all worked out for the best...Hope your experence is better.

Great Espresso Machine

I almost didn't purchase this machine due to the negative review. I have purchased other Cuisinart products and their customer service is always excellent, so I decided to go with a Cuisinart product. After doing several hours of researching espresso machines, this one met all of the requirements for a good espresso machine. I have been more than pleased with my purchase. It is a very durable product and I would recommend this to anyone. Makes great espressos, mochas, cappuccinos, and more.

DON'T BUY!!!

I loved the look of this machine, nice design, built well and its a Cuisinart. The first couple times I used it, it delivered a great cappuccino. I used it a total of 3 times before it crapped out on me. I turned it and all the buttons started flashing and wouldn't work. I tried contacting Cuisinart but it took them over a week to get back to me, by than I had returned the machine. Best buy took it back without any problems. This is an absolute don't buy.
