Super easy to use! I have made a few of the recipes in the instruction book and they all turned out better then anything I have bought at the store. I keep the bowl in the freezer so I can make ice cream whenever I want. Even though the instructions say freeze the bowl for 24 hours, I would leave it in for 48 prior to the first use to make sure it is frozen solid.

This has been the "best buy" I have made on the internet all year! The refurbished Cuisinart ice cream maker arrived at my local store a day earlier than expected, and when I took it out of the package it was pristine. I made the basic chocolate ice cream from the recipe booklet that came with the machine and my husband said it was the best chocolate ice cream he has ever tasted, and it was so simple to make! I have since made mango, coconut and egg nog ice cream and every batch was a winner with my family. We will never buy ice cream from the grocery store again now that we can make our own ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbets, slushies and even margaritas and pina coladas at home.

I really did not know what to expect when I was looking to purchase a freeze tub first maker, but I am glad I read the reviews on amazon, and follwed advice! I ended up buying mine from BestBuy Outlet for cheaper than on there.
What I have learned:
- ALL LIQUID INGREDIANTS should be cold before adding to the ice cream maker. (the add-ins should be cold too)
- Turn on maker right befor eyou add the liquid.
- to use HOT water to wash quickly
- add the flavor extracts in the last 5-10 minutes if they are alcohol based (the alcohol will keep the ice cream from firming up)
- use a plastic or wood spoon to scoop ice cream to avoid scratching the freeze container.
This is a good quality product, and quiet. I think my dishwasher makes more noise than this does.
This does make soft serve, like you would get at dairy queen, so if you want harder ice cream, just freeze in it a sealable feezer safe container for a hour or 2.
You can get a replacement freezer container on amazon for the same price as the maker on here, but having a second would be good so you can make more flavors in the same day.

I bought two of these because I wanted a spare mixing drum. It was cheaper than buying a drum by itself and I got spare parts. This is so easy to use and a great way experimenting with ice cream. So far my favorites are mango, cranberry, green tea, cinnamon/black walnut, and coconut/banana. I passed the deal onto fiends and they also bought several.
