Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) Doesn’t Work

I bought one of these because I noticed AC voltage variations. I choose this one because it had ”Automatic Voltage Regulation,” such a feature was exactly what I wanted, plus the Power Back Up. Sadly, the AVR feature never worked. I thought that the UPS I chose was defective, so I went to the store for another to compare, the second one was damaged, so I went a third time to the store to change it, but the 3rd didn’t work either. So three failed in a row. At this point, I believe that the CyberPower brand is just an inferior quality brand. Don’t waste your time nor money on this item; it just doesn’t work to protect your devices from over/under voltages.

Sine Wave at Good Price Point

This is the first time I have purchased a UPS that was not from APC, this includes decades of many purchases. The driving decision was based on cost and previous reviews I have read about CyberPower’s Pure Sine Wave UPS’s.
First impression was not that favorable due to packaging. None of the plastic-sticky strips were laid on smoothly, the plastic bag for the UPS itself was not taped closed. Not that packaging is reflective of the performance or durability of the product it does show a lack of attention to detail.
The UPS is powering an ASUS ROG Maximus IX Code MB, Nvidia GTX 1070, Intel i7-7700K PC, many cooling fans, 24” mointor and two HD raid. Under stress tested the unit was reporting 14 minutes of run time on battery backup which was exactly the range I expected. Solid runtime for a 1350 unit.
Notable:
- Pure Sine Wave
- High-efficiency design – Energy saving
- Automatic voltage regulation
- 10 outlets 5 backup and 5 surge protected
- USB (2)
- 1030 Joule rating
- 3-year warranty
Have been running the CyberPower for a week without issue and with the 3-year warranty believe that it is a solid UPS unit for the long term.
If you are looking to switch to a Pure Sine Wave (great idea) you cannot beat the price from a major player in the UPS business.

Home theater UPS

I've been wanted for some time to get a UPS that I could use to run our main den home theater system off of. This fit the bill in terms of capacity and size.
We have a whole home standby generator, so I don't need a lot of run time (less than a minute) but I didn't want the old Pioneer Elite plasma tv and everything else to go down hard in case of a power outage. This unit has plenty of capacity to keep the tv, AVR, cable box, and set top boxes up while the transfer switch does its job and the generator starts up and stabilized.
I had previously been running a Tripplite standalone AVR unit, but this UPS has a built in voltage regulator so it kills two birds.

Ready to go right out of the box. Download the software from the website, connect the usb cable, and you are monitoring the ups from the computer and it will run for a bit until shut down time as specified. I bought this for the sinewave power regulation. My old ups was tripping to much... Good investment for only a bit more cash but much more protection.

This is my second unit. I just replaced my old one of 4 years. The battery finally went out. It wasn't even strong enough to pass a self test. So I did some looking around and the battery was gonna be almost as much as the unit. So I went ahead and just got a new one. Unfortunately these things are like the printer effect where the ink costs as much as a new one.
Anyways.. this unit works flawlessly just like the last one. I'm running a $2,000 gaming pc so the last thing I need is a power outage or power surge destroying it.
The battery, when the computer is on idle, can last about 30-40 minutes. While gaming, maybe 5-10 minutes or so. That's way more than enough time to stop what you're doing and power down your system.
Also.. if you're away, with the software you can download from the internet or install the included disk, the unit will automatically shutdown your computer AND the unit itself with your preference of running until the battery is x-amount of minutes until empty OR if your computer has been running on battery for x-amount of minutes. I personally have it set to run until 5 minutes of battery left to keep it going unless the power just isnt gonna be back on for a while. And then both the computer and the unit shutdown safely and automatically. But you do have to turn the unit back on manually once you regain power.
So if you're thinking about it. Just get one. Yeah they're expensive but, they will save your equipment from data corruption or system failures. My old unit had 438 events. Meaning the power either flickered or went out. That's a lot of times in 4 years. That's a lot of saves from potential harm! And I'd definitely pick this particular unit because it produces true sinewaves while on battery power. In simple terms... it makes sure its producing the same type of electricity as if you were getting it from your plug receptacle. This is CRUCIAL for picky equipment that cannot run on simulated sinewaves. Like my gaming pc, it needs true sinewaves.
So again.. protect your equipment with one of these. You wont regret it!

I use this for my pc as well as my PS4 and it's a lifesaver for files and games that don't autosave. The display panel is very informative. It can tell you how much of a load your equipment is using, how much power is left in the battery, how many minutes are left on backup, even input and output voltage.

So, I live in Central Florida, lightning capitol of the USA (at least that's what I've been told). What a pain when we have multiple brown outs, and my Modem, Wireless Internet and PC all have to reboot. And isn't always while watching a movie? So, this summer will be different, I decided to buy this beast when it came up on a Best Buy Deal of the Day! Boy was I impressed on the size of the item! I charged it overnight, and plugged in the vital components. Now, when the afternoon storms roll in, I can watch TV or surf the internet uninterrupted. I also purchased a smaller unit to power my TV and DVR. Bring on the storms!

Currently running corsair ax1200i with a i7, 2 980ti's, 5 hard drives custom loop, 3 monitors from this bbu and it works great. When researching realized that simulated sine wave bbu could possibly ruin hardware. This device is true sine wave and works perfectly. Had a power outage and this device provided me ample time to shut down the pc before loosing power. No more abrupt shut downs that can damage hardware. Highly recommended

In the six months since I installed this UPS my power has gone out perhaps a half-dozen times for periods ranging from a few seconds (enough to shut off a computer) to about five minutes, and the unit took over seamlessly every time. Hoping I won't experience anything more serious but if I do, I feel confident the unit will do what it's supposed to. I use it as a surge protector and battery backup for my computer, monitor, speakers, router and external hard drives, and as a surge protector only for a few other office items.

Recently set out to find a UPS that could be used onsite at events with multiple printers, WIFI router, and a number of computers. The printers are susceptible to issues if they lose power while printing, and the router takes 5+ minutes to boot up, so I wanted to prevent any issues around questionable A/C power. Plus, since this is all electronic equipment with switching power supplies, I wanted a UPS that provided a good quality sine wave output.
This UPS has done a spectacular job holding all the equipment up through the worst of conditions.

Haven't tested beyond unplugging for about 30 seconds but it claims it can keep my power hungry gaming rig going for about 13 minutes.
System does seem to lockup/bluescreen much less since I started using it. - Old New Orleans wiring in my uptown apartment.
Have only owned a couple of months, so no long term opinion as of yet.

Great Battery Backup for any PC gamer!

I am a PC gamer that owns a custom-built system using a 750W power supply and this thing works great!! It will give you an average of 35 minutes to safely shut down your computer in the event of a power outage, which is plenty of time time to save your documents before it runs out of battery.
There is also a USB port that can plug into your computer which will allow you to manage the device settings via PowerPanel software. You can easily turn off the alarm so that it's quiet during an outage and set it so that it can automatically shut down your computer when it's critically low on battery.
This device will pull a lot of current on the same circuit so if you have a Window or Portable Air Conditioner in the same room, I highly recommend switching the Input Voltage Sensitivity to High. Doing this will make sure the Battery Backup doesn't trip the Circut Breaker whenever an AC unit is being used.
Other than that, I highly recommend this product to any PC gamer! I especially recommend this if you live in an area where power outages can occur during the hot summer months!

I now have three of these units at home. The first two units, I purchased back in 2014 and only had to change the batteries out this year (very easy). I've had other UPS by other manufactures and they managed to fail way too early. Purchasing new batteries after 5+ years has made these units like brand new. Can't recommend these true sine-wave UPS enough!

I did a fair amount of research on this item and was impressed with the capabilities at a reasonable price. My computer had recently been impacted by a power outage and I encountered a corrupted hard drive. Needless to say, I did not want to go through that again. This is inexpensive insurance. Good purchase to make with the actual sine wave capability.

The output is pure sine wave so you don’t have to worry about sensitive equipment plugged into it. Don’t plug things like heaters and laser printers into it and you will be fine. If you have power outages this can run lamps with LED bulbs for a while, not just for computers.

I purchased this large UPS to replace two smaller UPSs. It is working fine in that role. It has plenty of outlets for all of my network gear. Plus, it lets me tie in to my NAS via USB so the NAS can get a shutdown alert when power is lost.
