Could be good, if the app didn't suck so bad.

I got this sensor because my basement flooded last year, and I needed something to alert me on my phone so I could try and mitigate any flooding as quickly as possible. I first tried setting up the device using IFTTT, and after messing around with it for awhile I finally got it to work. Came back about a month later to test the 3 sensors I have, and IFTTT then supply a notification for any of them. Fiddled with it again, got it working again, come back a month later to test, and nothing. So the IFTTT support with the device is worthless. So, I just started using the D-link app. Told it to ignore DND, and set the loudest most annoying sound I could find, so it will wake me in the middle of the night if it detects water. Problem is, it wakes me for any, and every notification. You can't customize notifications for different situations. And the sensors, at least at my location, do their daily internet check, battery check, firmware check/update at 2am. If any of that goes wrong, I get a wake up call at 2am. You can't change this time either. A few days ago there was a firmware update. I get a notification from one of my sensors at 2am, telling me so. A few seconds later, my second sensor gave me the same notification, with the third sensor right behind that. Then, at around 2:03am, the first sensor sends another notification, that it is downloading, and updating. The second, and third sensors do that same shortly after. Once the firmware was done updating, you guessed it, three more notifications at around 2:10am. So in all, from 2am through 2:10am, I got a total of 9 notifications, all with that annoying sound that I picked so I would get woken up IF water was detected. Don't get me wrong, those other notifications are important, but why at 2am? I just need the app to wake me if water is detected. I don't need to be woken up at 2am for low batteries or any of that. Why can't I customize the sounds, for the other alerts? Why just the one notification option for all situations? I can't recommend this product, mostly due to the app it works with. They really need to fix that. Just allow us to customize individual notifications, and choose when the sensors do their daily checks. If they did that, I could probably rate this 3, or even 4 stars.

Very easy install and set up. They do just what they are supposed to, sound a super loud alarm and sends a notification to your phone when water is sensed. I bought 2 of them and put them at my water heater and water line coming into the house, no more worries about a flooded basement now.

Not very accurate. Very twitchy. Battery life is suspect. Some peace of mind.

Greatest $50 I have spent on keeping an eye on my sump pump. Easy to set up, battery lasts a very long time. Love it!
