These speakers are AMAZING. Your wife won't be able to bash the look because they are ascetically pleasing (but she will complain when the box arrives - it is large) but most importantly, THE SOUND. I have not been able to find a speaker that can compare to there in term of being an all around winner. This is a very well rounded produced, hence the price point. Hook them up to a quality AVR and be prepared to be amazed. I purchased the previous model for my home theater and my bother was so impressed he asked me to help him build a home theater starting with these. The sound quality is exquisite whether you are listening to music or watching a movie. In terms of music these things will flex with all music genres, rap, reggae, rock, classical, opera, pop; they are amazing. Best of all if space is a concern for you go with these. The box is much larger than the speakers do to the premium packaging but out of the box they have a small foot print especially when you consider the integrated subs. The bass that they put out is great for most but I personally found the frequency response isn't quite as low as a designated sub. For most this will be more than enough bass however I wanted more. Paired them with the Def Tech super cube 2000, AMAZING. You will never have to go past 12 o'clock on the sub volume knob. JUST BUY THEM!

These are good! They are a good value and offer the full sound range since they include a sub. Unfortunately, the tweeter and midrange is not too detailed, and is drowned out by the bass sometimes. I am coming from a nice Bowers & Wilkins set and these are OK, but the bass is nice. They also try to add more spatial sound by putting speakers on the back.

Best speaker I have bought to date. I'm a audiophile and these even though used are simply amazing. So well in fact I find only needing these two and center gives off a total surround sound feel while watching shows etc. I'm running a Denon AVR-S720w using the optical connection to all components. If I find another set at this price point they are mine

What an awesome sound for movies, music , and sports. The clarity depth and power is enormous. My friends and family constantly remark on how these towers deliver such a REAL experience. Like being there but even better if that is possible. Every little detail is pronounced exactly in balance. The powered subs hit you in the chest like no other on movies, but deliver smooth balanced bass when playing music. I have had the BP 9060s and they are great speakers, but I have to say for a little more investment with these 9080s I am getting 4 to 5 times the experience. Total sound envelopment. The way movies and music was meant to be heard. Better than a movie theater. Try pairing with a Marantz higher line A/V receiver and you will be amazed.

This is by far the best tower speaker i ever owned. First i was reluctant to buy since i had bought klipsch speakers for my home theater set up already, but the magnolia best buy expert suggested me otherwise. The design is so minimalistic and very nicely fits at home. The sound and integrated woofer is very powerful. By all means I would recommend to go for it ! Higher the models price will increase but definitive will not fail you.
Thank you Best buy team and Magnolia for good guidance and honest reviews !

Working to put my surround sound system in and these speakers are stylishly appealing and sound awesome. I was thinking of getting the larger size, but am glad I didn’t. The sound coming out of these completely fills the room.

Excellent speakers with amazing bass extension. Clear highs and lows. I upgraded from the BP-9020 to these BP-9060 and I was expecting a slight upgrade in sound quality but after the break-in period on the BP-9060, I was able to hear details that weren't there before in my music and movies. Highly suggest these speakers for anyone looking to build a quality home theater.

Great Tower Speaker Solution for Atmos

After a visit to a Best Buy Magnolia Department, I was surprised by the clarity of these speakers with Subwoofer incorporated. I was looking how to reproduce Dolby Atmos without having to brake the ceiling to install speakers. Well, here was the solution, you can add A90 Height Speaker Module on top that will bounce from the ceiling and create an immersive room filled sound. Very Happy how turn out my home theater with Dolby Atmos.

It's taken me a very long time to finally pull the trigger on upgrading to better quality speakers for my home theater simply due to the price of admission. But after doing some extensive research and finally deciding on the DT 3-way speakers w/ the built in sub you're reading about here, I am now wondering why I waited so long. I was skeptical at first about having a tower speaker w/ a built in sub, thinking that it possibly couldn't sound better than my separate sub and bookshelf speaker. Oh boy was I wrong! These sound AMAZING! I've tested them with a range of music, movies, and games and the bass kicks perfectly. As my tagline states, I have no regrets with this purchase (I bought 2), and am now looking forward to upgrading the rest of my home theater with more DT products. You will not be disappointed.

I had been wanting to build a medium size home theater system for a while and scouted these versus other high-quality speakers, trying to separate names from prices and separately trying to figure out if I needed a separate sub and how much to spend on that. I'll spare the long story but I narrowed it down to Hsu research (sub) vs SVS (speaker +/- sub) vs high-end Klipsch vs Definitive Tech. Cost was a major factor. After enough feet dragging, I found a pair of DT-9060 10" speakers open box for around 660 each / excellent condition at my local BB and pulled the trigger.
I'll have to say, these speakers are amazing. I had actually purchased a DT 9060 center channel speaker and DT Supercube 2000 subwoofer (both open box) before this purchase and that was better but I was still lacking the large room filling sound. When I added the DT towers, that was the missing piece. I actually disconnected the supercube because the base coming out of the towers is really powerful, and I don't even have my receiver set up in any custom way. I spoke with the DT Tech support ppl and they basically told me if I had the DT towers and the DT center (which has a passive sub), I didn't really need the separate subwoofer, for my application.
Anyhow, I don't' regret the purchases at all (i'll use the supercube with another smaller TV). Very satisfied. Would purchase again.

I like my speakers to be on the warm side and these towers provide that. I enjoy the subwoofers being built in with the crossovers taken care of by the builder. Easy peasy.

Bought these after years of smaller definitive technology bookshelf speakers and we love them. Only con is they are huge so make sure you have the space. The other thing that I wish they would have done is made the atmos part black. The silver part reflects the light from the screen.

Pros: Great Value if you are just going to watch movies and some music. Bi-polar design and movies sound incredible especially when paired with matching center speaker with internal amp. It does everything for you at a little to no cost. Easy to setup for casual, new or average home. Light or not heavy compared to other speakers in heavy enclosure. Does not take up too much space and easy to live with. Great bass and saves you from getting separate amps and subwoofer because the speakers have built in sub and they have internal amp.
Cons: Will not suffice for a true audiophile. No flexibility to add you own amp, sub and the clarity is lacking. Yes It crushes bass notes but upper frequencies are lacking. If you listen to mostly music or 2 channels and more interested in high fidelity you will probably get other speakers and add a sub to handle low frequencies. They make a loud noise sometimes when the internal amp turns on and not sure how to defeat that. Never had internal amp fail on me so can’t speak to the longevity of the internal amp but at this price point you are getting a lot of speaker for next to nothing in the first place.

I was flipping back and forth between getting these and some B&W's but decided on these because they have the built in subs. They aren't quite as warm and detailed as the b&W's but for the money I'm saving on not buying a sub I figured it was worth it.
The thing is though, once I got these into my home opposed to a big sales floor, wow these things shine. They create such a loud sound stage that sounds way wider than it really is.
Obligatory setup information: a pair of these, no other speakers and a Denon AVR-X1400 Powering them.
