Book shelf with Big High End Sound

At first I’ll admit I wasn’t blown away. I had been using Polk TSI200 for my Fronts. Only because they were half off $150. Since it was good enough I’ve had no reason to upgrade. Decent sound. Handled lots of power. But I’ve always wanted a Speaker that was up to par with the rest of my gear. Outlaw 975 pre amp. Massive Yamaha PC2200 (240 RMS + 240RMS) So high hopes thinking first listen will be amazing. It sounded good but “small”. I know there’s a break in process. But still I was disappointed. But I didn’t give up. The more the played all types of music I could hear the High End sound I was looking for. And being new speakers and me having lots of power I was afraid to damage it as soon as I got them. But I got the courage to crank it up, and they handled the power with not so much ease (dial the xover to 100 hz and add a sub and you’ll be set) they still are only book shelfs but the sound stage and clarity was incredible. Almost went with the D11’s but that would be over kill for my place. Loving every string pluck for from a guitar. Plus it handles movies just as good. I’m a stereo guy as opposed to HT.

One of the better sturdier speakeres on the market for the price. It's heavy and well built, sleek looking and the offset tweeter totally makes it stand out with the grill off. For the sound, well it's really sweet, full body, very good for jazzy and vocal type listining, one star down because I couldnt raise up the volume too high without it clipping the amp, other than tht this is a great speaker to enter the HIFI domain.

Nothing like this sound. I've listened through, Klipsch, B&W, SVS, triangle, Pioneer, and KEF speakers but I've never gotten the same sound and feel I get from these speakers. From first play, I think they're astounding and sound fantastic if you set them up right. Overall, a 5 star for me

These are better than I expected. They’re loud, crisp and most importantly affordable. I’m an experienced audiophile, not a “pro” and Ive been through many levels of equipment. I would recommend trying these for yourself.

Love the speakers. Definitely worth the upgrade from my promonitor series ! I mostly use them for home theater movies as opposed to music/stereo and I’m really enjoying the upgrade !

Speakers are really awesome. They have bass drivers, pointed upwards (casing has a cloth cover on top) so they can be placed close to wall. Sound is very clear, has a wide range of frequency spectrum and... Neighbors have already complained :). I am using them with Marantz HD AMD 1 , placed on acoustic foam.

This pair replaced some fairly high-end larger bookshelf speakers I had used since the late 70s. I had read reviews that they were very good, then auditioned inside Magnolia, then purchased. The sound they provide as front mains in a moderate sized room using a 5.1 setup is very satisfying. The clarity of the mids and highs is outstanding. The cabinet finish is beautiful too!

I was looking for surround speakers, but I listen to five channel stereo a lot so I wanted good quality speakers. These sound so nice, with great midrange and treble, and just enough bass.

I love speakers. I purchased these to pair with the deftech 9040 I purchased previously. The matching tower speakers were calling my name for weeks but after hearing these I felt more comfortable at the price point. These bookshelves are more than adequate with a subwoofer. These tweeters are incredible. I can hear details, like the splash of a drumstick hitting cymbals, I’ve never experienced through many other brands. Not fatiguing at all. Remarkable product

I purchased these speakers as open box for $315, and for that price they are a steal! They sound amazing, you would never think bookshelf speakers can sound so good. With that said, I would never pay retail ($750) for these.

After much research, I went with the D9’s for a 3.1 set up in living room. Very clear and crisp, just what I wanted. I paired with the 9040 center channel and co7ld not be happier.

I really wanted to splurge and get some Bowers & Wilkins, but I’m already using Def Techs on my center, rear and subwoofers. The salesman at BB said I should not mix speakers so I purchased these to complete my set. I am using these D9’s on my front Left & right and so far I am very pleased. These D9’s produce surprisingly clear sound. I have yet to push them for extended periods, so I will update this review upon further use.
