These speakers (I have 2) are simply amazing, they are only about an inch thick yet deliver sound the covers all the nuances and highs and lows. If anything they would be perfect if paired with a subwoofer. That isn' t absolutely necessary, but I prefer it. Mine are mounted on the wall with the supplied mount. They are very stylish and easy to hang. You won't be disappointed!

These speakers are amazing. They fill the room with sound. Every nuance is heard. They are a little light on bass but when paired with a subwoofer they bring music and/or movies to life. Amazingly thin. They look great on their stand or perfect mounted in the wall. You won't be disappointed.

Sounds great with my martin & logan setup as rear surround. Running this on a marantz using all audio quest cables in 7.2. Really sounds amazing!

Good speaker for for such a small profile. Mounts on wall easily and adds to the decor by not being bulky. I am using it as rear surround.

These do exactly what I needed them to do and look attractive. They are a little expensive but worth it in my opinion. Installation was handled by the Geek squad and they did a wonderful job.

There's better for the money

While this speaker is very good, it's important to know that you'll be trading off some sound quality for a thinner speaker. The other reviews seem to indicate that there are no tradeoffs with this speaker, and that's simply not true. While this speaker is wall mountable unlike others, it lacks the bass and clarity of similarly priced products, namely Definitive's own Mythos Eight and Nine sound worlds better than this. Overall the build quality is excellent, however the finish scratches easily during mounting and the fabric cover looks pretty cheap in my opinion.

These speakers are new to the market and are super thin to compliment the new and thinner TV's on the market especially Samsung.
Had the speakers wall mounted on both sides of my tv as well as under the tv (tv is wall mounted). The sound is excellent. They truly complement the room and don't protrude or stand out in terms of size. A great speaker system.

Its hard to describe the speaker but it sounds amazing at any volume level. Video game such as MW3, Black Ops 2, Movies in regular and Blu Ray mode quality of sounds surpasses any speaker i have heard in a long time. For the price, how slim they are, amazing.

Def Tech Doesn't Disappoint

I was on the fence between a B&W CM9 system, Def Tech BiPolar Super Tower system, or the Mythos XTR range. After thorough demos of all systems, with my own sources of audio, I gave the edge to the Mythos system for mid and high level clarity over the power of the BiPolar's and the lack of high end range of the CM9's. I also opted for a SuperCube6000 as you really need a sub to handle the low frequencies with these XTR's.
Apprehensive I was trading sound quality for looks- these XTR's look simply fantastic- I got them home and hung them on the wall next to my 60" Samsung Plasma. I am mostly a movie watcher so I popped in a few "reference" Blurays. These speakers must be heard to be believed! In my own theater room they sounded more impressive than in the demo room. I cranked my Denon AVR up louder and these XTR's simply shrugged off the extra load and kept up, no distortion, no clipping. I knew I made the right decision when my wife- who though our old Klipsch system was "state of the art", even admitted she could tell a WORLD of difference with the new system.
The speaker connector on the rear speaker is supposedly designed to make connecting the wire easier- it's not. It also has diminutive terminals so Audiophile-grade speakers wire (read Gauges 12 and up) won't fit. The terminals are as small as some speaker selectors. Kind of odd, but given these XTR's can only handle 100watts max, I guess 16awg wire should be plenty.
My only grip is not even about the speakers themselves- I wish Best Buy carried the XTR-20 speakers for the rear surrounds. They don't even carry the Mythos Gems- another perfect match for surrounds. I had to order the XTR-20 surrounds online and I wasn't able to demo them locally, but, they still sounded terrific. Best Buy needs to expand the Mythos speakers they carry.
