I bought this because of the frequency response, it hasn’t disappointed. I do wish I could control it with a remote but not a deal killer considering the sound quality. Thus far very happy and the 8” woofer packs more punch than much larger subwoofers. Highly recommended.

This is a great sub, great sound does not take up much space. Makes Tv & movies sound amazing. Also, not that expensive for what you're getting.

My first sub woofer, and it has had me asking myself why I did not purchase one sooner! It will rattle the walls in my man cave (11' x 17')!
I plan on purchasing a 12" version for inside the house very soon!

I bought this to compliment my procinema 600/800 set up. I now have two 800monitors and this 800 sub along with my procinema600 sub &monitors. Everything sounds great. No complaints. I do believe this may be overpriced at 400$ though. I think 300$ is more appropriate for the sound it provides.

Though we had surround in our previous home, we had never added a sub-woofer because we favor jazz and classical music. This sub-woofer is fabulous with our music, as well as enhancing TV dramas and movies. Really sorry we didn't get one sooner; very happy our Best Buy consultant steered us to this one. .

The 800s construction is good, although it jumps across wooden floors and rattles during movies with tremendous bass. I had this sub for years, upgraded to two prosubs (not worth the money), and am happier now with one of DefTech's Super Cube 6000. With the Prosub 800 music is enriched and it is very loud. With the SC6000 at double the price, Godzilla's roar punches you in the chest and wows my guests.

I purchased this subwoofer with a reward certificate and basically got at $300 sub tax free. For the price and ease of use this sub is a good 7 out 10 on clarity of bass and fulfills my space's sound well. I'd like to see this one be slightly cheaper but i like the way it performs.

Bought as a replacement for a Polk Audio sub that failed after several years. Have other Definitive Tech items that have all performed well. This is no exception.

A 7.2 set-up so I have two of these and they work great in tandem.
A smaller room set-up so they slam very well.
They Don't get to the lower subsonic freq's but for me that isn't an issue for now so it's all good.

I purchased the Definitive Technology - ProSub 800 8" 300-Watt Powered Subwoofer - Black. I already had a much older model of a Definitive Technology subwoofer which always performed excellently and still does. My A/V receive has outputs for two subs. Two subs ??? A great idea.
I purchased a Definitive Technology - ProSub 800 8" 300-Watt Powered Subwoofer for a very good price and am very happy with the extra 'bottom' in my home A/V system. The enhanced bass adds quite a bit to movies with a lot of explosions and for music, too. If your receiver can handle two subwoofers, I'd say get the 2nd sub.
Installation note: My A/V receiver has an 'automatic' system for balancing my speakers. However, this system does not recognise my 2nd subwoofer. No worries. The 2nd sub works fine, it just didn't get 'automatically' balanced. Like too much bass has ever been a problem.
