Customers consistently note the Inspiron 15's touch screen as a major selling point, praising its convenience and ease of use. They also appreciate the laptop's fast performance, affordable price, and the inclusion of a 512GB SSD for ample storage. Great Laptop for the Price, but Battery Life Falls

I bought the Dell Inspiron 15 Touch Screen Laptop on August 17, 2024, for $427.03, and overall, it’s been a great purchase. The Intel Core i5 processor is fast and efficient, making multitasking super easy, whether I’m working, streaming, or just browsing. With 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, it handles everything smoothly and has plenty of storage for all my files and programs. The touchscreen is one of my favorite features—it's super responsive and makes navigating so much easier. I also love the sleek Carbon Black finish; it looks professional and feels sturdy. Plus, it’s lightweight, so it’s convenient to carry around. The only thing I don’t like is the battery life. It drains faster than I expected, lasting just a few hours on a full charge, which can be frustrating when I’m away from a power outlet for a while. All in all, this laptop is a great value for the price. If the battery life were better, it would be perfect.

Perfect Laptop Computer For Its Price

The Dell Inspiron 15 Touch Screen Laptop – Intel Core i5 – 8GB – 512GB SSD - Carbon Black is perfect for my needs. It is fast and its 512GB SSD is more than adequate for saving hundreds of short documents, many digital images, and has room for mp3 music. I do not play many games, but the few simple games that I have played (i.e., Chess v1000, and several card games) work very well and fast. However, I would recommend a Core i7 processor if you play high-resolution games online. Core i5 is designed for general use rather than for games. The recently reduced price (around $400) makes it a fantastic bargain. I highly recommend it.

Great laptop at the $380 sale price BUT ...

I've been needing a new laptop for a while. I watch the Best Buy 'Deals of the Day' and when this one showed up, I pounced on it for $380. I bought Dell because my previous primary laptop was a Dell and it lasted nearly 10 years. It's still operable albeit the keys on the keyboard are going bad one at a time. But IT is a well used keyboard so I cannot complain. It's earned its rest. This laptop is lightning fast with its SSD 'hard drive' and I5 processor. Display is fine although I do NOT use the touch screen function. I have to say that I dislike the keyboard. It is NOT acceptable to me. I can barely feel the little raised teats on the F and J keys. The keys are of a rough texture compared to the smooth feel of all my other laptops. Their operation seems "harsh" to me compared to four other laptops I've had. Anyone who types would likely find it objectionable. It's nowhere near as good as the previous Dell I used or an HP I'm using this second. This five year old laptop's F and J teats are still clearly discernible. On the new one ... I have to work at finding them. IF I could give this thing back over the keyboard issue, I would ... it's THAT bad. Further -- and it's not the fault of this laptop -- I'da traded the touch screen in for a lighted keyboard since I often type at night in the dark and need to find the specialty keys.. There is a difference in the special keys on this thing, too. It differs from my old Dell ... WHY ?? For the price, I guess I shouldn't complain but ... I'm just not happy with the keyboard feel OR function OR quality. So IF you type ... BEWARE. If you use two fingers and have to look at the keyboard ... it likely wouldn't matter. Dell missed it on THIS one. Now I'm stuck with it. It's tough to say that I would NOT recommend this thing to others since in all other ways -- aside from not liking W11 -- it's a good machine SO ... I'll say I will but it's RELUCTANTLY.

Disappointing Quality for a Dell Inspiron!

I bought this sight unseen based upon the specs listed on the Best Buy website. I figured that for the price I was going to have to give up a few things and was not wrong. First of all, the laptop is more than powerful enough for most business related purposes...which was my need. It also has a reasonably bright touch screen and a numeric keypad. It is not a gaming laptop or one designed for video or audio editing. Now, here is where the laptop suffers. The construction is, in my opinion, poor in comparison to the many other Dell Inspiron's I have purchased for business use. The build quality is an insult to the Dell Inspiron name as far as I'm concerned. The case is all plastic and not very robust. The keyboard is spongy and not backlit. There are no USB C ports at all which makes little sense in 2024. The webcam is fair, at best. It has Windows S installed instead of a typical installation of Windows 11. You cannot switch out of Windows S without being logged in with a Microsoft account (for that matter you cannot even setup the computer without a Microsoft account.) Finally, if the less than great build quality is not important to you and you can deal with the so-so keyboard, this is not a bad computer for the price. In fact, if you connected it to an external monitor and keyboard it's actually pretty good (not withstanding the lack of USB C ports). However, if I was looking for a laptop for a student who would be carrying the laptop around in a backpack, or a worker who routinely travels with his/her laptop, I'd pay more and get a better one...one that would stand up to a little abuse.

This laptop is perfect for basic tasks like browsing, streaming, and working on documents. The performance is smooth for day-to-day activities, and the display is clear and bright. It’s lightweight and easy to carry around, which is a plus for students or remote workers. The battery life is decent, lasting about 6-8 hours on average use. While it’s not ideal for gaming or heavy software, it’s a great choice for anyone looking for an affordable and reliable device for basic needs.

Bought several of these for our teachers and they have worked out very well. Small enough to carry with them but large enough to be able to see clearly! Battery life is good as well. We upgraded the team and went to Windows pro and with the sale price, we were still lower than what we could find fully configured. We use a lot of Dell machines, so it is nice to have kind of a standard on power cords and other things. Very easy to work on and upgrade.

The laptop works as intended. Fast and reliable. The touch screen is amazing, making it easy to touch and go without a mouse. The computer is light enough to carry around and it fits perfectly in my backpack. The memory is adequate and I feel comfortable using an external hard drive. The battery lasts much longer than my last one.

This laptop was a great choice. I'm a MacBook user but needed something to use for work-related tasks and needed Microsoft Office, and I am not disappointed. This Dell is a great product - it's fast, lightweight, and sturdy and i love that it's touchscreen as well. Tiny point off due to no keyboard backlighting but it was a great deal for what you get.

This product replaced an HP laptop. Absolutely no comparison. Dell is the best! The only thing I wish it had was a back lit keyboard, but it has all the other features I want and expect from Dell. I love the touch screen even though I still use a mouse occasionally. The size is just right and not heavy at all. I use it for personal financing and email as well as spreadsheets and word processing.

While working at my long time job I had several laptops. They ranged from inexpensive & inadequate to fairly expensive with many features. Our new personal Dell Inspiron 15 was reasonably priced with nice features (like the touch screen), a nice-sized screen while not being bulky. The touch screen drastically reduces the use of a mouse. The computer has good speed and I appreciate the nice sound system. So far the computer has been used mainly for producing PowerPoint presentations and to utilize the internet and it has performed well.

It took me a while to get used to however once I had everything setup that I needed for my school, (and a few games from game pass) I am happy with my purchase. The keys are easy to press. The screen is huge and bright. The sound quality is perfect. The battery lasts a good while and charges quite fast. I am just an average Mom and don't know much about computers but I am loving this computer!

This laptop is great for our needs. Its quick, reliable and user friendly, especially since we are not, by any stretch of the imagination, IT/tech savvy. Easy set up by the Geek Squad (thank you very much), and easy to navigate. We're still learning about all the available features; and enjoying our learning experience (we are seniors...). Definitely the right choice for us, especially since it was on sale...
