I bought the computer in June, and for 2 months things were fine. Then I got a pop-up from Dell on Tuesday telling me to click for an update, which I did, and now my laptop is in a loop, won't boot, and is basically a paperweight now. The worst thing is Dell's "support," which is a JOKE. I followed the instructions they gave me exactly, and nothing has been fixed and they have not helped me fix anything. I blew almost $600 on this junk. I should have stayed with HP. Dell NEVER again!

I bought the computer as an upgrade to my existing HP Pavilion laptop. First, this is a quiet computer that doesn't get hot (unlike the HP). I am able to surf the web, watch videos, and general everyday use computing on it that meets my needs. 1 TB of storage is great. RAM is excellent. WIndows 10 came installed and I haven't had any issues with it. FLAWS: The only issue I've had is updating the BIOS (Dell issue). When I update the BIOS per Dell, I have to reset the BIOS to look for the internal drive. It's a simple fix, but I shouldn't have to do it. The other one is that I need to let the computer "load" all of the background stuff before I open an application, especially with iTunes, but I think that is more of an iTunes issue than a Dell issue. If you are a Linux person, I think this would be an excellent computer to install Linux. I used a flash copy of Linux Mint and everything seemed to work well. All in all, a great computer and would recommend the purchase.

I was in the market for a new laptop, not just any laptop but one that I can see myself utilizing for years to come. Everything electronic I purchase through Best Buy. I've always wanted a backlit keyboard now I finally have one. The i5 runs everything perfectly. They only reason I give it a 4 is because the "F keys (f1 f2 ect) don't seem to be working when I try to use it for brightness. But since I bought extra warranty for it, I'll just take it in and they'll fix it. I would definitely recommend this. Great price compared to others.

This laptop works perfectly for when I want to work from home or need to grab a pc to go. Really like the back lit keys. For the price this is a great choice.

This dell is powerful enough to handle the typical collage level computing needs (Word, Powerpoint, Surfing, Gaming) The backlit keyboard works well as you can control the level and the mousepad is responsive. The weight is a little heavy but for the screen size and dvd player you expect that.

Dell - Inspiron 15.6 Laptop - Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive - Matte silver. Good Dell for the price. Do like the back-lit keyboard. Do not care much for Windows 10.

My daughter will be starting college in the Fall. The IT department gave us a list of computer/laptop requirements before we purchase so we did a search using those requirements. This computer is really nice, classy looking, perfect size and easy to use. Keyboard comfortable and being a math major it was important to have a separate set of number keys on right side, backlit keyboard for power point sessions, etc. DELL is top notch and best brand. We received it in one day - thanks Best Buy.

I bought this computer for a software engineer at my company and it performs better than expected. A whole lot of horsepower for the price. I highly recommend it.

After being a diehard windows7 user for years I was reluctant to change. Within the first 20 minutes of using this with windows10 I was more comfortable than ever before. Everything is very easy. Personalised setup was super easy and has made my entire daily computer use so much more effective. The laptop itself is powerful and fast making online gaming a breeze. Navigation is quick and the performance is great.

I needed a computer that I could cart around but that would also meet my home office needs. This is my third Inspiron and I am very satisfied. It is light, easy to transport, yet with a full keyboard and the ability to handle my peripherals. I am pleased with the battery life and the speed. I find it very easy to work on.

I am still exploring and learning the computer and Windows 10. It's a good product, at least up to this point. I haven't had it very long, but I expect a good work life for it.

Very pleased with this Dell laptop. It has all that I need for the work that I do on a computer. Easy to set up and the larger screen is nice. Don't like all the bloatware that Dell puts on so getting rid of that was one of the first things I did!

Great laptop for the price. Paid $579 before taxes. It has everything I was looking for in a computer. Solid cpu, decent amount of memory, and a large hard drive for plenty of storage. Dell has pretty good products.

My son saved up his money to buy this computer. He uses it for homework, surfing the interwebs, and some basic gaming.

Solid cool-running processor, ample ram and storage space. Bought for my parents who are in their 60s . great laptop for everyday use.

I had a issue with the internet with the computer but dell support had fix the issue with the streaming graphics (like youtube, movies sites) and virus scare on the computer. Dell support are very concern about your purchase but I don't like calling in dell support team members some of them are no help, they need to have helpful people working for them, thank god you can write down your opinion on them.. I will recommend this to my friends but examine the lab top display if it fit your needs.(I did at office max)
