Customers highly value the Inspiron 2-in-1 16” OLED Touch Laptop for its stunning UHD OLED display, impressive battery life, and excellent performance. Many users appreciate the versatility of the touchscreen and tablet mode, while others find the green color unique and visually appealing. Dell Inspiron 2-in-1 16” OLED Touch Laptop Review
Overview
The Dell Inspiron 2-in-1 16” OLED Touch Laptop, powered by the 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, is a versatile and powerful device designed for both productivity and entertainment. With 16GB of memory, a 512GB SSD, and NVIDIA GeForce MX550 graphics, this laptop is equipped to handle a wide range of tasks. The Atlantic Green color adds a unique aesthetic touch, making it stand out from typical laptop designs.
Design and Build Quality
The laptop features a sleek and modern design with a 16-inch OLED touch display that delivers vibrant and sharp visuals. The Atlantic Green finish is both elegant and distinctive. The 2-in-1 functionality allows you to switch between laptop and tablet modes, providing flexibility for different use cases. The build quality is robust, and the hinge mechanism feels sturdy, ensuring that the screen stays in place whether you are typing or drawing.
Display
The 16-inch OLED display is a standout feature, offering stunning color accuracy, deep blacks, and high contrast ratios. This makes it ideal for creative work, media consumption, and even light gaming. The touch functionality is responsive and supports multi-touch gestures, enhancing the overall user experience.
Performance
Powered by the 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, this laptop delivers excellent performance for everyday tasks, multitasking, and more demanding applications. The 16GB of memory ensures smooth operation even with multiple apps open simultaneously. The 512GB SSD provides fast boot times and quick access to your files.
Graphics
The NVIDIA GeForce MX550 graphics card adds a boost to the laptop’s graphical capabilities. While it’s not a high-end gaming GPU, it is more than sufficient for light to moderate gaming, video editing, and graphic design work. It strikes a good balance between power consumption and performance.
#### Battery Life
Battery life is respectable, offering up to 8-10 hours on a single charge depending on usage. This makes it suitable for a full day of work or school without needing to be tethered to a power outlet. However, heavy tasks like gaming or video rendering will reduce battery life more quickly.
#### Keyboard and Touchpad
The keyboard is comfortable to type on, with well-spaced keys and good travel distance. The backlit feature is helpful in low-light conditions. The touchpad is large and responsive, supporting Windows Precision drivers for smooth and accurate gesture control.
#### Connectivity
The Dell Inspiron 2-in-1 offers a good range of ports, including USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, and an SD card reader. This ensures compatibility with a wide range of peripherals and accessories. Wi-Fi 6 support provides fast and reliable wireless connectivity.
#### Pros
- Stunning 16” OLED touch display with excellent color accuracy
- Powerful 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processor
- 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD for smooth performance
- Versatile 2-in-1 functionality
- Unique and stylish Atlantic Green color
- Good range of connectivity options
#### Cons
- The NVIDIA GeForce MX550 is not suitable for high-end gaming
- Battery life can diminish quickly under heavy use
- Slightly heavier than some other ultrabooks due to the larger screen and 2-in-1 mechanism
#### Conclusion
The Dell Inspiron 2-in-1 16” OLED Touch Laptop is a versatile and powerful machine that excels in both performance and design. Its stunning OLED display, robust build quality, and flexible 2-in-1 functionality make it a great choice for professionals, students, and creatives alike. While it’s not aimed at high-end gaming, its overall performance and features make it a compelling option in its category.

Fantastic PC in every way..except for gaming!

I have several laptops and each of them seem to be a jack of certain trades. I have a gaming laptop, a web surfing laptop and now this laptop which I consider to be an expert of everything except for gaming. Setting this up was easy and took about 30 minutes, most of the time being simply downloading Windows updates. The facial recognition was easy to setup and login every time I have tried is instant using Windows Hello login.
The actual computer itself is a beautiful alpine green and it really has a modern, sleek look to it. It's very impressive. It's not super lightweight but is not too heavy either. The clamshell is easily manipulated to allow you to manipulate the machine in any way you see fit. The touch screen is amazing, the best I've ever used and I have never had it fail to register an input in several days of use. It's a lot better than my older HP laptop with touch screen.
Now the best feature to discuss is most definitely the OLED screen. It's the best thing about the laptop and the 16" screen is so good it makes me long for the day when (and if) we can get these types of displays for our PC monitors. I know that OLED is quite popular in TV but don't think I've seen them used in most home PC displays. Maybe it is because of gaming, I'm not sure, but I will say that this machine, despite doing everything besides gaming, is pretty poor at gaming.
It even struggles to run Diablo Immortal without lag, but I realize that Diablo Immortal on the PC is in beta so I decided maybe I should try some other games. Well I tried Microsoft Flight Simulator, Doom Eternal and in neither game did things go well...in fact even at lowest settings the games were largely unplayable.
This laptop has USB-C inputs and that is how it gets its power. I say about time we start seeing this in laptops! My wife played Diablo Immortal on it when it was on battery and she got nearly 2 hours into it before the laptop was about 10% left and she called it a day. I imagine if you want to play games on this laptop it should be games like Texas Hold Em and games of that nature, games with very little moving parts.
Now, everything else, aside from gaming, is just awesome on this laptop. How it looks, how it transports, the quality, the build, the actual Windows 11 performance, all are top notch . I have to give this PC 5 stars if you're not a gamer, but since I am a gamer I give it four stars.
I highly recommend this laptop to anyone, unless you want to game, then you should look elsewhere. As for me, I've got this mounted in my office area now to use daily as a nice counterpart to my beastly gaming PC that is a desktop. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Beautiful light 16” laptop

I have had this OLED Dell Inspiron 2 in 1 16” for about a week now. It’s a nice laptop, it’s slimmer and lighter than my other dell that is a few years old but still feels hefty and sturdy. The screen is beautiful, goes to the edge, and came loaded with all the usual stuff. It has only needed one update since it arrived. The look is sleek, with a charcoal green tint. It has 2 speakers on either side of the keyboard, with awesome sound. But, because of those side speakers there’s no 10 key. I do miss that. The keys on the keyboard are light, easy to press, and feel good when typing. Set up was super easy and quick, with a nice tutorial to get you through it. So far the charge has been holding steady with a good amount of battery life. The touch screen is responsive, zooms in and out easily. Big plus for me is the outside seems pretty smudge proof and unique looking. Of course, with the OLED screen you know it’s a great picture, works awesome for videos and movies. Overall, as a fan of Dell, I’m happy with this laptop, really like the feel of it, and although I miss 10 key the speakers are a great addition.

I bought the last one in stock; had a dent in the box. very crackly, long audio issues. my exchanged product also had audio issues and the screen would turn black within a few seconds of being on. i was unable to see anything unless i restarted the laptop (only the screen was off; the rest of the laptop was still running). i liked the specs but some manufacturing issues ruined it a little for me. ended up returning it, but the customer service is great! (i had both laptops for a week minimum before returning/exchanging). also the laptop's lowest brightness was a little too high for me. not rlly an issue, just kind of an eyesore at night.

So my Microsoft computer crashed and I had to replace it with a new one. I was looking for a good computers with more memory and innovation. I had a couple dell computers in the past and I wanted to try the newest model. A little disappointed because this computers have some glitches. It takes a while to startup and sometimes won't even start at all. I have to close it down and open it again. I'm not sure if it is the fact that this item was "open-box" purchase.

Superb OLED Screen & Solid Performer

This is a sleek well constructed laptop that can fold backwards into a tablet. Has 4 speaker sound and plenty of USB ports. The star of the show is its beautiful 16 inch 4K OLED touch screen!! Plus it comes with the Dell Active Pen!
Setting up Windows 11 Home was quick and easy. You can set a PIN, setup fingerprint scanner and face scanner. Or do it later. Auto Update took care of some quirks it had during my review time. The fingerprint scanner works very well as does the face recognition for Windows Hello.
The OLED screen is absolutely stunning with 100% P3 color gamut, 283 PPI and 400 NITS brightness. Put it beside even the best LCD screen and you can easily see how much more vivid the colors are and the contrast is. OLED displays have a wider color gamut than LCD displays. They can show more colors and true blacks. Every pixel is an LED that emits light as opposed to an LCD display where every pixel is a “light valve” that lets the back light pass through or blocks it, to a varying amount. LCDs cannot block the backlight 100%. Some LCD TVs offer local backlight dimming that helps to get deeper blacks. QLED is still a type of backlit LCD and performs even better than regular LCDs but OLED is the king.. However, with its glossy screen, reflections can sometimes be a problem by reflecting a bright scene behind you at certain angles. Not a biggie but worth mentioning.
The touch screen works flawlessly. The pen works well too, and using it and the touch screen for Photoshop, or any art apps, is a dream!
The display on this computer is perfect for editing photos. I loaded the latest version of Photoshop and Lightroom Classic on it. They run reasonably fast in laptop mode. In “tablet mode” they do not. The look of LRC changes and parts of LRC was still overlaid on the screen when I was using Photoshop. PS was sluggish and even freezing for over 12 seconds at times when using a brush. Lag with the pen was so bad as to be unusable. Not sure if that’s an Adobe or Windows problem. Editing in LRC or PS works fine in laptop mode and in Tablet mode if you Do Not select Tablet mode when it’s offered. LRC keeps its standard look too. I did discover that if you run LRC and PS together, PS can be sluggish depending on what you are doing. This is most noticeable when using the pen. I compared the performance to my Asus ROG Strix G15 with a Ryzen 9 5900HX & Radeon RX 6800m, 16GB and FHD 300 hz LCD screen. That PC runs LRC & PS like a UFO. But keep in mind that the Dell has a 4k screen and a basic GPU pushing 4 times the pixels than the Asus. I think it does pretty good considering that, and recommend it for using LRC and PC if you don’t run them simultaneously.
The 4 speaker system sounds pretty good coming from a fairly slim laptop. You can adjust the EQ and effects using the MaxxAudio program. The bass is decent and the highs are clean. 3D effects works well. The stereo microphones sound OK.
The keyboard feels solid, not mushy. The keys have a very slight dish to them, decent travel and are quiet when pressed. They are illuminated and have 2 intensity levels. Light bleed around the keys is minimal and the letters are large and easy to read. Illuminated or off.
The touchpad is very large and active up to about a quarter of an inch below the space bar. Clicks on either side feel solid. The pen doesn’t work on the touchpad. Palm rejection is excellent. I like the large area below the keyboard to rest my palms when typing.
Quick specs:
2, USB-C Gen 4 - Thunderbolt 4 ports with power delivery. The one next to the USB-A is the primary USB-C for charging the PC.
Display Port 1.4 via USB-C is supported with an optional adapter.
2, USB-A gen 3.2 ports.
HDMI port. Headphone-mic port. SD card reader.
Wifi 6 & Bluetooth 5.2
1, M.2 2280 & 1, M.2 2230 slots. One has the BT and WiFi & the other SSD.
2, SODIMM DDR4 slots. 2x8GB stock. Can go to 32GB via 2x16GB.
Nvidia MX550 not MX450
Power brick is small & charges via USB C.
My guess for battery life is maybe 8 hours tops with the screen at 33% browsing the web.
Webcam is FHD and has a physical shutter to block the lens for privacy. Photos from it looked good. The camera has a shutter that you can slide over the lens. That’s good! On my other laptops, Norton Security pops up a notice every time I open Chrome or Edge telling me that Norton has blocked camera access. Even with camera access turned off in those programs. Something to think about.
Build quality looks and feels great. No creaking when twisting the base because it doesn't twist. Same for screen but it will twist very slightly if you apply enough force. The hinges have just the right feel and will hold wherever you stop. There is a rubber strip foot running across the bottom rear and 2 feet at the front. There are no feet or rubber trim around the edge of the screen and base to keep it from sliding in tent configuration.
Watching videos will kick the fan on and off at its lowest speed. My other laptops do this too. Fan is very quiet at the lowest speed. Browsing the web generally doesn’t. Running PS or LRC will run the fan at varying levels. Benchmark apps and updates will too. I took thermal photos of it under a heavy load and temps topped at 122F in certain areas. See photos.
It has a new 12th Gen Core i7 “P” CPU that falls between the U and H models in performance. I think the laptop’s performance can be a bit lacking at times considering the price. If all you intend to do is average work, moderate photo editing, browse the web and watch videos, you’re good. Most of the time it will use the Intel Iris on chip GPU. Even if set to the Nvidia MX 550, it seems to bounce between the 2 automatically. As for any high end 3D games in 4K, it’s not happening nor is the laptop meant for that.
Conclusion: All things considered, I recommend it. I do wish it had a bit faster GPU and a bit more speed for the price. You can get a super fast gaming laptop for a similar price. But it won’t have a 4K OLED screen, aluminum chassis and touch screen+pen.

It really has an amazing screen and really helps if you are in photograph industry or visualization, I just recomend to extend the ram to 32gb and be sure the ram you buy is CL 22 because faster CL means the laptop wont be compatible.
Overall im pretty happy with it considering the first one bought was defective and really slow, this one is pretty fast the only downside is that the left speaker keeps getting a static noise even doing everything that Dell support suggest it is still there so probably I wont give to much lifespan to the speakers tho.

Laptop is lightweight and has a beautiful screen. Runs fast and super quick start up. Only issue I have had so far is that the mouse sometimes doesn’t respond to my finger…but maybe I need to adjust some settings in that regard. I also had to adjust to the fact that the left and right click are not as pronounced on the mouse of section. With that said, I am enjoying this laptop very much and it is definitely a giant leap up from my last laptop (HP).

I’ve been using this Dell laptop for a few months, and it’s been great so far. The setup was quick and easy, and it works really well for everything I need, from work tasks to streaming movies. The laptop is fast and handles multiple apps at once without slowing down.
The battery lasts all day, which is a huge plus for me, and the screen is clear and bright. I also really like the keyboard – it’s comfortable to type on for long periods. Overall, this laptop has been super reliable, and I’m very happy with it. Definitely recommend it!

I have really enjoyed my laptop, and use it daily. There is only one issue that I can report, and it is common for all laptops I have had, it gets too hot, and I had to buy a fan system for underneath it. Otherwise it is a speedy, well built machine for work and play, I have had it for quite a while now, less than a year, but I have really enjoyed it. The size is just right, not too small and not too large, it looks like a 15 inch screen, but is in fact 16 inches, that inch makes a difference!

Bought this 2022 16" OLED screen laptop refurbished for a bargain price instead of a '23 model. In near perfect condition (some very minor scratches on outside of case). The screen resolution/brightness/quality is AMAZING. I use it for business purposes (MS Office applications, email and Zoom/Teams) so the 12th Gen i7 chip will be fine for the next 3 years.

Beware the awful trackpad

This is a great laptop in many ways, with a bright screen and a good keyboard and battery life. EXCEPT the trackpad and its software are awful, and no amount of updating and fixes haved cured it yet. The cursor dribbles through the screen, selecting things you don't even touch, opening up other windows and tabs in error. It is barely usable, unless you pair it with an external mouse. Which doesn't make for an easy user experience. (If I wanted to do that, I'd buy a desktop) I will reach out to Best Buy Geek Squad for help, even though I have a bit of a remaining warranty through Dell. I've heard nightmares of sending your laptop to DELL for service and comes back weeks later. I cannot afford that amount of risk or downtime. Best Buy is usually helpful to me. I hope Geek Squad can fix this, otherwise I have to buy a new laptop and sell this one off. It's a shame, and this trackpad/mouse problem is a known issue. I hear Dell has fixed it in successive models of the Inspiron 16, but not completely. It varies user to user. It still happens. I got a lemon :(

I'm not usually one to drop reviews on products as my mileage definitely varies from the average user. I purchased this machine a little over a week ago and for the most part, I'm satisfied with the purchase. I spent several weeks reviewing and considering the specs that are important to me and what would be a viable replacement for my previous Surface Laptop 3. This machine offered great specs for now and has the ease of upgradability into the future with a memory and ssd drive replacement to increase capacity and functionality. So far I'm getting easily 9-10 hours of battery life with moderate to heavy use. It required a full drain down and recharge cycle for Windows to recognize an accurate average time remaining value. I wasn't happy about the Dell bloatware and it took me about an hour to remedy that and debloat the system. I get why manufacturers do that, but for those of us that don't want to deal with it, offer a system option that doesn't have it included for an additional charge or something. In the future I may blow out the SSD and reinstall a base Windows 11 to start fresh. By far the best option on this system is the 16" OLED screen as it's just fantastic to look at for long periods of time. The color reproduction is spot on and every time I boot the system, the screen is still gorgeous to look at. As I'm typing this review on the actual system, the keyboard isn't the best I've used or the worst, it has an odd shift to the left that took me a few days to get used to and keep my hands on the right keys all the time. There has been a lingering issue with bluetooth losing connection after the laptop returns from sleep or hibernate that requires a full reboot to get working again. I suspect it's a cable not quite seated properly or a hardware issue that hasn't been fixed yet. It's not a massive problem and likely won't make me want to return the system for such a minor and fixable problem. Overall I would still get this system despite the few oddities and issues I've had up to this point. I may update the review in the future after I've put some mileage on the system and see how it holds up.

Liked the color, dark green, the 16" screen and the hype about the stereo speakers. I've had it one year now. Good: it turns on when I open it up. Never had issues with the touch screen. Satisfied with look and speed of what's on the screen. Bad: touchpad not always responsive. Lately, YouTube sound is distorted on most videos--so much for the hi-fi stereo speakers. Only one year old and not thrilled with this machine.

Hello There RobertMN, Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review. We are sorry to hear that you are having touchpad sensitivity issues in regards to your Dell Inspiron 7620. This is certainly not the experience that we like to hear from our customers. We will share your concern with our quality team so that improvements can be made to our current and future products and services. Below I have provided troubleshooting instructions with the full article that may be able to resolve the issue.
Here are the steps to help resolve your touchpad issue: 1. Ensure the touchpad and your finger do not have any dirt, grease, liquids, or food on them (the touchpad has to make good contact with your finger to work correctly). 2. Ensure that the touchpad is turned on. 3. Save any data, close any open programs and restart the computer by using a wired USB mouse (if available) or Bluetooth mouse if it is already installed, if not, press hold the power button for at least 15 seconds to turn the computer off. 4. Unplug everything except the power cable. 5. Turn the computer back on and retest the touchpad. 6. When the cursor does work correctly, attach one device at a time, and test the cursor movement to see which one may have caused the issue. 7. Ensure that the BIOS and Chipset drivers are updated to the latest version.

This is a FANTASTIC laptop, quite possibly the best all around laptop for the average power user. First the specs: 12th generation i7, 16GB RAM, 16:10 aspect ratio, OLED screen, and premium case materials/keyboard.
First, the i7 is efficient compared to the previous generation, and I think I get around 10 hours with average brightness working in MS office and Chrome. You can probably get more if you are careful with the screen brightness.
Then, 16GB ram is more than enough unless your using fairly intensive applications. Also, you may be able to upgrade one RAM stick, but I haven’t looked into into yet since I have no need, but I do know this laptop is fairly easy to repair if you ever have issues.
Finally, the OLED screen is gorgeous and it’s quite hard to go back to anything else once you use it - it’s bright, perfectly clear text, and obviously amazing contrast. And the laptop’s chassis is Apple quality in my opinion, both with the case material and MacBook similar keyboard feeling (satisfying to type).
Dell is notorious for quality control issues but I have a hard time seeing anything major down the line with my use so far… except maybe OLED burn in but that wouldn’t be Dell’s fault.
I am very picky with laptops and I'm surprised I found a good daily laptop that I'm more than satisfied with. I use it for graduate school, work, Zoom calls, and wasting time on YouTube.
Oh, I will say there’s one negative: the microphone seems poor, and I’ve transitioned to using Bose headphones for Zoom calls, but to be honest, I think most laptops don’t have great mics.

I'm writing this review because I've had the laptop for almost a year now and regret the purchase for the most part.
I wanted this laptop mainly for streaming youtube and videos online. It has a beautiful OLED screen that slows down when you take advantage and increase resolution on videos.
Lately, I can barely have a video running at HD while also running another video in a separate tab. The HD video will slow and skip significantly, and the entire laptop also slows down.
The trackpack bugs out often, where if I've been using the touchscreeen I can't use the trackpack. It'll constantly click by itself. I will have to close the laptop for a few seconds, re-open and the issues is usually fixed. Just annoying.
It also gets incredibly hot doing almost nothing.
Wish I never purchased this laptop. I did get the geek squad warranty so will hopefully replace as it inevitably gets worse.

The light weight and beautiful exterior or exactly what I expected. The display screen is gorgeous and the colors are vivid and clear. This laptop exceeds my expectations, I came from a HP Specter and went to this and probably won’t ever look back. I wanted the Dell XPS originally but this one caught my eye due to the cool color, the 16inch 4k touch display and the gpu and cpu. I love how loud this thing gets with its quad speakers, and battery last all day. I liked this over my HP Specter because I get 2 USB 3.0 ports instead of just the 1 from my previous pc. The only thing that I dislike about this pc is that it powers on when the lid is lifted, I couldn’t find a setting to disable that. Sometimes I want to just clean the screen with the laptop completely off but as soon as you open the lid just a little, it goes from fully shut down to full power on.

I loved this laptop. Althought it did have a serious trackpad issue making it extremely unreliable. The trackpad would get wrratic out of nowhere. If it wasnt for that i would have kept it. The quality of the oled was amazing and the colors were perfect. The convertable was awesome. The sounds was great and it had dolby vision hdr. It was great.
