First let me get the bad stuff out of the way. I had to get this system replaced soon after I bought it due to a defective speaker that distorted everything. So apparently based on my experience the other reviews I read before getting this system may be true: build quality issues. I also have a couple of pet peeves with this system. Things that aren't big enough of a deal to detract rating stars, and they may to subjective. First, I would've preferred having an extra USB-A, or maybe USB-C in the steed of the Full HDMI this laptop includes. Preferably both an extra USB-A AND C. I just don't think the Full HDMI will ever see any use from me. I also question the choice of media keys(the keys that sit "above" the function keys). Why is there a dedicated button for projecting the display? Rather, why would they sacrifice the skip/seek media keys for it, and then leave the F9 key with no media key above it? It's empty! Why would you do that? It's weird if you ask me. There's also the usual assortment of bloatware on this system; just uninstall it. Again, this is subjective. Other buyers might love the fact there's Full HDMI, a dedicated projection button, and bloatware. (Okay, scratch that last one, nobody in their right mind should like bloatware.) Now onto the good stuff. I just moved, so right now my main desktop gaming rig/workstation isn't available to me. Being a student I needed a good computer to work on. I wanted a system with enough power inside to multitask, and run intensive applications; but also not directly compete with my main PC once it arrives. I also wanted a thin-and-light flexible system that could easily move with me. This system excels at both. It's also a 2-in-1, so it's very flexible in how you use it, and comes with a touchscreen...but this 2-in-1 trait is further extended by what I'll bring up in the next paragraph... Now, I from time to time draw abstracts for fun, smith up some memes, and do other multimedia related tasks. I had previously for my desktop PC purchased a basic Wacom tablet to draw on the computer. But when I saw this laptop I knew it was the one. Using this laptop I can tell it truly is in a class of its own. You might not know unless you look at the pictures or see it in person. This laptop not only comes with a pen, it comes with a easy access dedicated garage that keeps the pen magnetically in place when not in use, and charges it too. It's fantastic to use, and equally fantastic to not use; as it's out of the way and I know I can get to it at a moments notice. (Included in the pictures is an abstract I drew entirely using this computer. Feel free to use it as you like, it's in 4K(Assuming it uploads uncompressed, that is).) There are other areas where this laptop shines too. I was surprised at the price point that it comes with a high-quality 4K display. The trackpad perfectly meets my expectations for what any good laptop should have: spacious enough, supports gestures, it's good in my book. The construction of the laptop feels premium(Quality was set to good instead of excellent because of the inconvenience of the first unit needing to be replaced). Speakers, while not anything to write home about, are just fine for a laptop... But what makes or breaks any laptop, is the keyboard. I love this keyboard. I had to separate the keyboard into its own paragraph because it's so good. Now, previously what I had considered to be the best laptop keyboard was the trusty scissor switch MacBook keyboard. Not those garbage butterfly switch keyboards that Apple has thankfully trashed recently, no, I'm talking those crisp keyboards with just the right amount of travel distance. (I know, I know, Mechanical Keyboards are far superior, but I like my laptop keyboards too.) This laptop manages to top those keyboards by not only feeling just as crisp, but also having this...softness to it. Very nice feel when typing, it's my favorite by far. That's about all I have for this laptop, actually. Stellar system. I should also note that I think the value is great, but I in addition got this laptop on sale for $250 off; a steal if you ask me. One last thing to mention is, being a 2-in-1 laptop that can flip and become a tablet, you can also use the laptop in a portrait orientation; know, add to that the pen you can easily pull out from the back(pictured so you see how easy it would be do grab the pen out while in tablet mode) and boom: instant notepad(works especially well with OneNote or White Board).

I've been on a hunt for an ultralightweight powerful computer. I'm NOT a gamer, however, I'm a power user; multiple browser sessions with 20+ tabs each, I have multiple messaging apps open, I like to run virtual machines (VM). I'm usually plugged into power, so not really concerned with battery life. PROS: - very nice build - beautiful, vibrant 13.3" 4K display - built-in pen storage very convenient - comfortable backlit-keyboard - not too much bloatware in Windows 10 - Thunderbolt 4 USB Type-C port with Power Delivery - very fast, responsive CONS: - Thunderbolt 4 USB Type-C port with Power Delivery - it is NOT backwards compatible with USB Type-C Gen1 or Gen2 - https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/inspiron-13-7306-2-in-1-laptop/inspiron-7306-2n1-black-setup-and-specifications/left?guid=guid-12cd14bb-8db3-47d7-a090-15d75787517a&lang=en-us - only ONE USB-C port Make sure you install all of the latest drivers to get the most out of your laptop. Otherwise, you'll hear lots of fan noise. Drivers link for Dell - https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product-support/product/inspiron-13-7306-2-in-1-laptop/drivers Drivers link for Intel - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/ I'm NOT able to get this laptop working with my Lenovo ThinkVision P44w-10 ultrawide curved monitor due to lack of support for USB-C Gen1/2 https://psref.lenovo.com/Detail/ThinkVision/ThinkVision_P44w10?M=61D5RAR1US However, I'm able to use USB-C to DisplayPort and HDMI

Nice lightweight laptop. Wish it had more ports. One USB-C (which is used by the power adapter) and one USB-A is not enough. A second USB-C would have been nice. A 4K display is overkill for this size laptop. Have had the laptop for several months with no issues.

This is the buggiest computer I've ever owned. The pre-installed Dell hardware scan can not be disabled, and every time it runs, it automatically restarts the computer and then says it was not shut down properly. Same thing happens if I try to simply put the computer to sleep instead of totally turning it off. Fan runs even when the computer is asleep or doing nothing. Bluetooth mouse regularly disconnects. Incompatibility with second monitor. Apps that run fine on my other machine have problems on this one. I have found workarounds for most of these, but it's annoying. If it wasn't so much trouble to set up a new computer, I would trash it and buy a different one .... and I just might if these things get to be too much of a hassle. Sorry for the negative review. I hope other people bought this machine and love it.

      SHF262,

Thanks for your review and we're sorry to hear about the trouble that you've had with your computer so far. We'd recommend updating the BIOS on your computer to help with the fan noise and performance that you're experiencing:

An out-of-date BIOS can cause loud fan noises by having an outdated temperature table for the system. Refer to update BIOS and follow the instructions to update the BIOS on your computer. You can also follow up with our Technical Support Team here - 1-800-624-9896.

You can read the full article here - http://dell.to/2ENlXfz.

Although somewhat slower than I expected, this small laptop has evident high-quality construction, very speedy loading, and is a good fit for me. About 12 second load time from shut-down. Open the cover and you're good to go. The stylus works well.

Received 2 days ago. Pros: Good CPU/memory/SSD, high resolution screen, good pen, and I love the HDMI and USB-A port on such a thin laptop. But I still give it one star. Because 1: Structure defect. See picture. 2: Touch screen bugs. For one time I touched one place and it responded at other positions. Restarting the laptop can solve the problem but this is a new laptop. 3: Big fan noise when plugged in. Air vents are too small, and the fan keeps running but cannot cool the machine down. 4: Other bugs. Screen turned black for about half second for no reason. Weird color when playing YouTube videos with Chrome, which has never happened on my other laptops.

      Hello,

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that your laptop cannot boot up, and we would like to help right away. Here are some steps you may take to further troubleshoot the issue:

      1. If the computer is displaying the Dell logo and does not move past that point, it has probably failed POST.
      2. If the power indicator lights up and it is amber or orange, this is usually an indicator that it has failed POST.
      3. If you see text on a black screen, the computer is currently performing the POST. If the computer stays in that condition and does not move past it, it has probably failed POST.
      4. If the video screen displayed anything at all during the startup process but is now black, this probably indicates that the computer failed POST.
      5. If the computer is beeping or if Caps/Num/Scroll Locks are flashing, note if there is a particular pattern in which it beeps or flashes.
      6. If the computer is not beeping and caps/num/scroll locks are not flashing, unplug all connections and remove all media communication devices (e.g. external monitors); reconnect one at a time and check if the computer functions.
      7. For a notebook, press and hold the Fn key and then press the power button. This starts the pre-boot testing and will launch ePSA. In case you have a Desktop at the Dell logo screen tap the F12 key to enter One Time Boot Menu and use the arrow keys to highlight Diagnostics and press enter.
      8. You can read the full article here - http://dell.to/2uj1Sby.

If you still run into issues with your Inspiron not turning on, you can contact Dell directly with the information below via Chat or Call.

After using this laptop for 2 months, I can say that this laptop works well as a light everyday work laptop. Pros: I’m able to start the computer up quickly, and am able to run applications like Excel well. The 4K 16:9 display screen looks very nice on the Inspiron, and makes things look really crisp and clear. The pen that comes with the laptop is a nice feature that is stored safely in the laptop. The pen writes/draws very well with palm rejection, and doesn’t include all movements when my hand shakes. The computer still has some of the legacy ports (USB-A, HDMI) that I was looking for that wasn’t offered with the Dell XPS. The webcam quality is very nice, especially for work and zoom calls. Cons: Even though it uses Intel Evo I7 chip, the battery life is not great. When using the laptop without the charger, it got me to about 50% battery after about 3.5 hours with light usage. I would expect better with today’s laptop. The laptop fan does get a bit loud once in a while and can get a bit warm under load. I don’t know if that’s because of the Intel Optane, but personally I feel that Optane isn’t really needed for SSDs, and probably would’ve prefered the laptop without it. In addition, occasionally (~25% of the time) the fingerprint reader doesn’t recognize my finger, and I’ll have to enter my PIN instead. The keyboard texture seems a bit rough, and I don’t type as quick as I did with other laptops. Overall, given the value, I think at the price point you can get this device (I got the Geek Squad certified open box) and after trying out both this laptop and the HP Spectre x360 14 inch, I ended up sticking one.

i7 “Tiger Lake” 11th Gen, ALL the bells & whistles

As of November 1st, this laptop is one of the first Intel Evo i7 11th Gen “Tiger Lake” powered ultra light 2-in-1 notebooks here on Bestbuy (or anywhere). Pluses: - Fast processor and fast graphics card (faster than our 10th Gen i7 Spectre x360) - Solid aluminum alloy build, refined darker color (not real black though, not as dark as aThinkPad) - Love the Pen storage bay concept. So much better than other ultra books that use magnets to secure the pen to the side of the notebook (afterthought) or smaller than normal pens (Lenovo) that store inside the notebook body. - Has a Thunderbolt 4 port USB-C) , from which it charges too. No more proprietary “barrel charger” connector. - Gorgeous 4K screeen - Acceptable audio, as with all laptops...if you expect marvels for sound from any thin notebook like this... - Easy 360 degree rotation that exudes quality, almost one fingered opening - Windows Hello camera works well, logs you in every time regardless of lighting conditions (also has fingerprint reader) - Camera has a well implemented tiny little shutter (yes a shutter!) that you slide over to totally cover the webcam and ensure your privacy. - Runs mostly quiet and acceptably warmish, until it doesn’t. You do get some fan noise when it’s working harder, and it does get hot at times (like most ultrabooks). Much less than notebooks before. - Not much bloatware to delete once you get it - HDMI 2.0 full size port! - Did I mention the gorgeous 4K screen. Everything looks good on this. Cons: - Looks good, but not as good as the Lenovos or the Asus Zenbook S Flip. I prefer it to the top of the line HP Spectre though with that weird brown/gold color scheme they ship it with. At the time of this writing, the HP Spectre is the only other top of the line Intel i7 Evo 11th Gen on the market. - Could use one more Thunderbolt 4 port (like the Zenbook S Flip), especially since it also charges from that single USB-C port. (It does have a normal type A USB port) If you are in the market for a notebook that will not be obsolete the moment you buy it, get this. 11th Gen y’all, it’s here! -

Good machine. Wait until on sale, pricey full price. Open box excellent for $808. Like brand new unopened box. :-) :-) A steal at 808. 13.3 " UHD 4K, intel core i7 1165g7 cpu with intel evo iris Xe integrated graphics, 512 SSD with 32 gb intel optane, 16 gb Anaheim Ram. Ran cool, no noise. Faaaast. Ports: one Thunderbolt 4 type C usb, one SS type A usb, hdmi, card reader, mic/earphones combo port. Must charge the unit through the TB 4 usb C port. Screen sharp, but could be brighter(Dell is known for dimmer screens). No problems at all. The real Windows Hello: IR camera facial recognition to sign in. Can also sign in with fingerprint reader or password or physical key(usb stick..."something you have"... and the bad guy doesn't have...). Light as a feather, one hand, like a tablet but it's a 2 in 1 laptop. Thin and small, easily portable. Doesn't even break a sweat. Track pad is small but works well. Good keyboard, good backlighting. 11th generation intel, latest and greatest. Packs a wallop for the sale price. Oh, comes with the Dell active pen, worth every penny, and I pick up pennies that I find. The active pen is the real deal, works great; you feel like an artiste using it, and I'm no Renoir. If you want a small laptop that is light and small but can handle the pressure without folding like a cheap card table then this is the one to get. Speakers sound good, can adjust the sound. Loudest laptop I've ever heard. Dell is swell. Don't fret about the number of ports; the single Thunderbolt 4 usb type C port alone can handle multiple peripherals all on a single dock station plugged into it. This Thunderbolt 4 is 20 gbps throughput. Thunderbolt 4 (2+2) is coming, and will be 40 gbps. Thunderbolt for the win!

Premium through and through with a pen design that leads all other 2-in-1s. This laptop is easily the match of competitors in any one area and exceeds them all when added up. The Tiger Lake chip is fast and efficient, there are two biometric login options, the laptop wakes from sleep in a hot second, the 4K screen is gorgeous even up close or for movies, the speakers are loud, the trackpad is excellent, and the build quality is rock solid. Topping it off is the brilliant design for the included active stylus that stores and charges near the hinge. Unlike other 2-in-1s with garaged stylus, this is much larger and the same diameter as a pencil instead of the toothpick sized options that Lenovo offers. Dell includes a surprisingly rich set of tools for controlling and managing the system along with some bloatware but I've seen worse. It is not perfect. 4k screens are overkill on 13" laptops and they take a toll on the battery life, which is good but not great. Fan vents were reduced in size just a bit to accommodate the pen (although there is a second vent hidden behind the right hinge) which means the laptop does throttle back a bit under heavy loads (but is fine under normal loads) and there is some fan noise audible at times. Speakers ARE loud, but not as rich sounding as the MacBook Air. For minor nitpicking I'd love to see another Thunderbolt port and maybe 1440 screen would have been just as clear but more power efficient. Still, this is one incredible laptop and I highly recommend it, especially on sale.

First of all, the Inspiron line of Dell laptops really looks like they've upped their game! This is packing a 13.3" 4K UHD display with some beautiful color accuracy. And the build quality reminded me of the likes of older Dell XPS line laptops. I did have a few gripes with the touchpad. After a while of using the laptop I noticed that if you press on the palmrest on either side of the laptop, it will actuate the touch-to-click of the touchpad, even making an audible click. It was very strange considering the overall feel of good build quality. At the price for this laptop I think it would have made a lot more sense to include a 1TB storage drive, but I knew of the limitation going into my purchase. I ended up not holding onto this for too long and I've already resold it; if you're in the market for something with some graphical horsepower, this probably isn't for you. If you're looking for a great all-around and media consumption machine with good battery life, this probably is for you!

Very satisfied with this purchase. Would absolutely reccomend. Pros - Gorgeous display - 16g Ram - i keep two browsers open with different accounts and each have multiple tabs open. Havent seen any issues yet - pretty good battery life, although I have the brightness set a little low and the performance set to 75%, about 6.5 hours of watching video/ browsing and schoolwork - Type C charging - Very lightweight yet still durable, doesn't feel cheap - Ultra portable - I put a 980 pro in and seems to be just a bit snappier, although its barely noticable. - fingerprint scanner is the most reliable Ive tried yet, although alot of factors could play into that. Cons - Refresh rate- I searched and searched for a laptop with a higher refresh rate and comparable brightness and without paying a significant amount more its just something Ill have to deal with. -Speakers aren't bad after adjustment with waves maxx audio, however in certain apps like blackboard collaborate the audio cuts back to standard settings and leave much to be desired, although I may be able to circumvent this somehow in audio settings. Conclusion I initially bought this laptop and returned it because of its refresh rate. After trying a 2021 lenovo thinkpad, the ROG zepherus, and the Blade stealth, of which the latter two have much higher refresh rates, I decided the ultraporatable form factor and brighter display were more important, so I returned and went back to the Inspiron 7306.
