Very big screen, not too heavy, sleek, and fast. Used it mainly for photo editing and personal use. Love the 2-in-1 option.

This laptop packs a lot (17 inch diagonal display) into a small space (it's as wide as standard 15.6 inch laptops from a few years ago. Besides the beautiful higher-than-FHD display, note the "+" at the end of the QHD. This screen is taller than 15.6 inch screens, so you don't have to scroll as much. The only thing I don't like about it is the silvery case. It cools my palms as I type. I'd rather have a plastic or graphite case, maybe white or even light gray.

With so many laptop options, it was a hard choice. But I found this in an open-box at $600, and so far the experience has been great. There's too many laptops under $800 that have dim, colorless displays. I initially got the Inspiron 7415, a 14 inch 2-in-1 for the Ryzen 5, but unfortunately it looked sad next to this beauty, Inspiron 7706. This display is 2560x1600p, this looks sharp at 17 inches. The brightness is 300nits, which doesn't sound like a lot but looks miles more bright and vibrant than the units with less than 250nits. It also has 100% sRGB coverage according to the Dell website. I haven't done any real tests, but holding it up to my Galaxy S20 and Dell s2721dgf monitor, it holds up very well. The 17 inch display is also better for multitasking, and the expense of being heavier than lightweight 14 inch laptops. It's not the Ryzen 5 I wanted, but Intel's 11th gen i7 should be plenty for my school work and everyday tasks. (There is no Ryzen configuration for the 7706 to my knowledge). The full sized keyboard feels good for my larger hands, so I'm not bummed about the heavy weight and size. The trackpad, display, keyboard, and overall build quality feels great while still being a fast computer. Another thing, you can upgrade RAM and storage, some of the main reasons I'm looking at Dell in the first place. Using a 17 inch as a 2 in 1 can be kind of ridiculous. This also doesn't have good speakers, but at least I would be using headphones anyways. The overall package I can recommend if you get a good deal. If your budget is over $800, you're nearly in MacBook Air, Zenbook OLED, HP Spectre territory, which might be better for you. But remember, you have to pay more upfront for 16g RAM because it is not upgradable on those computers. I appreciate how on Dell laptops you can have a smaller initial cost, and upgrade when you need it later on.

This has been a good computer for me so far. I like the big screen. I'm not sure if the microphone plug is working sporadically or if I just have a hard time finding good headphones . I haven't had any major problems with it in the first two years. It seems hard to get computers to last even 2 years anyway. I'm hoping it last a few more.

I like Dell products, I have been buying Dell products forever. They are reliable products, good quality ( keyboard, screen, case, accessories ). It has an impressive performance with only 8 GB of RAM and 256GB SSD. I have an external hard drive to keep my extra files. I will expand the RAM and SSD size in one or two years, it works really well for that price.

Great laptop so far. Now it replaced one from 2009 so it wouldn't be hard to be better, but it is clearer, much faster, significantly lighter and well built. I guess the only thing is the keys sometimes are hard to read in some lighting conditions, but that is a minor gripe.

They need to call this something else and not a laptop. When out on your lap, the sharp edges cuts into your leg reminding you not to use it for what it was design to do. The screen portion has these annoying borders that gets in the way when using touch inputs. Why not flat like the Microsoft screens? Saves on cost by not having these hard plastics surrounding the screen. Other than that, the 17” screen size is awesome and is IMO the perfect all around size, text and icons are large enough to read and see without giving up screen space. Tools in programs are also large enough to see and tap and still plenty of usable canvas space to do your work. Unit also has great color accuracy and super responsive touch screen. Hard going back to those puny 15.6” with a 16X9 screens that forces you to have to make too much compromises. This unit Would be perfect if they would allow it to work with an active PENn like the Microsoft or Wacom stylus. Why make the perfect size screen with great color accuracy but lock the pen out? Add that feature in and I’ll buy 2 more of these units.

Love this laptop! It is slim and the screen is great because of the size and ability to rotate!!! I travel as a healthcare professional and need as little space as possible and this laotop is perfect!

Dell has always been reliable and fast for our family. It is a brand you can depend upon and is capable of handling large projects.

This is a nice big size laptop. It was super easy to set up. It runs really fast and Windows 11 has been great so far. We had no issues getting this all up and running and it's nice a sleek looking with a lot of great features for a basic user. We don't do gaming or anything so if you are really into tech you might want to look at other reviews to see what they have to say. We just needed something quality but basic to get the job done. The battery life is great! The only reason I took 1 star off is the mic quality is not the greatest. But it's not a deal breaker by any means.

I love this thing! It's very quick, great visibility and sound, and very light and portable. I was reluctant to buy a new one to replace my older Dell laptop, but was delighted once the Geeks transferred my data and got me up and running again.

Wonderful PC!! Makes life so much easier with the touch screen and alexa built-in. Plus the large screen and ten key make this PC my favorite PC yet.

Such an amazing laptop. Usually my laptops only last a few years. Purchased mine 3 years ago and it's still running perfectly. Never owned a laptop for this long. Absolutly in love!!!

Fast computer. Great picture. Only issue is keys can be a little hard to see with white letters on light silver keys. Having backlit keys does help some but at times you have to have backlight off to see letters. Should have been black letters or white letters on black keys.

Love the touch screen, I was so used to having several ports for my mouse, or memory stick, things like that. This only has one, but I learned you can buy an adapter that has at least 4 so now I and use everything I need. Also I was used to havening a disk drive , and you can buy one of those too. So all is good. the features on this laptop are so up to date and it runs fast. No matter it is nice to have a new laptop, And the price was also great.

Awesome laptop. Bought it for my wife's business, she loves it. Very light, big screen and powerful. Wish it had 16gb memory, but 8 gigs should be enough for her.

Good computer. Ive used it for work to running teams and other voip calling apps and programs.

Would have given the Dell Inspiron 5 Stars but very difficult to read the keys due to the color. Hope Dell goes back to the black and white keys. The speed on this laptop is fantastic and it's so light. This replaced an 11 year old Dell Inspiron laptop. I did upgrade the Ram to 16GB and 1 Tb on SSD. I would highly recommend buying from Best Buy. I had the Geek Squad Technical support and they were very helpful with the upgrades.
