Customers are saying

Customers appreciate the Inspiron Desktop's performance, ease of use, and fast boot times thanks to its SSD. Many also praise its affordability and quiet operation. While some users expressed minor concerns about the CD drive's durability and the pre-installed operating system, the overall feedback is overwhelmingly positive. The compact size is also a frequently cited advantage.

I operate a business and noticed it was time to replace my tower. My old one had already crashed and been rebuilt a few years prior and I really didn't want to go through that again. I prefer purchasing from Best Buy just because I already pay for any additional help throughout the year and it is just quick and easy. The salesman suggested this model based off the work I do and need it for. I have been using it for approximately 7 weeks and all is well. It was super easy to set up and add all my devices. Smooth transition with sharing all my files and downloading all my old programs. I love that it is smaller than my old tower, giving me a little more room on my desk. It is as fast as described and extremely user friendly. Silly as it is the keyboard it came with was actually not as cheap as you usually receive. I have not even gotten out my old one, because this one is actually quite comfortable for my hands. I run approximately 7 programs and multiple web pages at one time and have no difficulty. I don't store much directly on my hard drive other than the programs themselves, so I can't speak on how much it actually holds. All backups, files, pictures, etc I save on an external hard drive that is disconnected daily. All it takes is one crash 4 years ago and never again will I solely rely on the tower :) If you are looking for something that is quite speedy, a little on the smaller side, and user friendly, this desktop would be a good fit for you.

My old computer was slow...Also it was probably close to 10 years old, and kept dropping me from whatever I was doing. I decided it was finally time to move on. The Dell Inspiron seemed to fit my needs. From the first time I switched in on, I could see an immediate difference from before! It is fast, easy to use, and has all the speed and memory I need. Also very quiet. And I have always enjoyed the Best Buy knowledge and service

Great item. Had to buy in a hurry because my previous desktop crashed. Geek squad was able to transfer everything to this one from a backup hard drive. Upgraded to 1TBSSD. Very fast machine. With no HDD it is completely silent. No issues with initial setup or personalization. Would recommend. Geek Squad lost the fob to my wireless mouse though and have not replaced it, so right now I am still used the wired mouse that it came with.

I highly recommend this Dell desktop. It has more than enough memory and speed to do many tasks at once. I just LOVE the silent and fast solid state hard drive. Easy to set up and update. The only thing I was surprised about is it only has a VGA connect no digital video connect. Still it is certainly a good unit.

This has an eighth generation I5 processor that actually is faster than the older I7 second generation computer that I used to have. It has an M2 type solid state drive which is very fast and fits on the mother board itself. I would highly recommend spending a little more and purchase a 2.5 inch hard drive that easily mounts on the case inside the computer. The reason for a secondary drive is to save all of your data to it as a 245GB Primary drive can fill up quickly. I would have given this system a 5 star but the lack of a second drive as purchased makes me lower this to a four star. You could go with an inexpensive 2tb drive Seagate - Barracuda 2TB Internal SATA Hard Drive for Laptops Model:ST2000LMA15 SKU:6164931 advertised at 84.99 and that extra addition makes it a top end for a student computer. It also loads from turn on to log on screen in about 18 seconds max. Even on restart. If you could afford around 220 to 250 dollars more for a secondary solid state drive you would want to get Seagate - Barracuda 2TB Internal SATA Hard Drive for Laptops Model:ST2000LMA15 SKU:6164931 advertised at around 220 dollars. There has been some comments about this system having a low hum noise. I have determined that the CPU fan does have a minimal noise that is barely noticeable with the system on and on a hard surface. I remedied that issue by placing my workstation on the carpet under my desk with an open ended left side desk so the front of the computer dvd drive would be assessable. Or you could have it outside the desk on the left side on the carpet. The reason for that is that the venting for the case is on the left side of the computer and I noticed the low CPU fan noise became undiscernible when placed on a the carpet with the venting on the left side of the case was away from me. Now I have a very fast computer with no noise at all. I purchased the less expensive 2.5 inch TB hard drive instead of a Solid State Hard drive and the computer works great. If I had to do it over again I would have spent the extra and installed a secondary SSD drive instead. Once last important comment. This system has two usb 3.0 ports but they are on the front of the computer. The usb ports on the back are all usb 2.0 so if you get a secondary usb 3.0 drive it will need to be hooked up to the front usb ports for full 3.0 capability. I strongly recommend install the internal drives mentioned above vice a secondary hard drive. I would recommend this to all parents who want a reliable desktop for student to do homework on and research for school.

We bought these for work and they are good desktops. They have the NVME m.2 SSD, can be easily upgraded to a larger drive and when I say easily I mean super easy. You just pull the lever on the back of the tower and pop the casing off, unscrew the single screw and pop out the NVMe, reverse to replace it. You can also add Sata 2.5 inch SSD or HDD, there are 1 or 2 connections for this. The memory is upgradable to 32GB (DDR4), it has built-in BlueTooth and wifi which is also easily upgraded if you needed to. They boot time is fast and it has plenty of USB 3 ports. For the price, it is a nice desktop and it should last because it can be upgraded. For this price point, I think it is a good buy.

I've preferred and recommended Dell over all others for years, and this one didn't disappoint. About any computer with the same processor, SSD, and RAM is going to perform about the same, but Dell just has a way of building a superior machine, even at this price. Light weight, somewhat upgradeable, quiet looks.

    I LOve My Dell Inspiron

That's what my wife says, "I love my Dell Inspiron." We've only had this PC for a few weeks but she says, it is perfect for whatever she needs. My wife's a visual artist and, although there are more powerful desktops around, this one performs better than any previous - and larger, more powerful PCs - she's used. The solid state drive is so swift and flawless she's still amazed at how well everything goes. And the smaller and lighter size of the tower makes it very easy to move around and clean inside when necessary. My wife and I have always liked Dell and this model is a true winner.

This is the third Dell Inspiron I have owned and I have not been disappointed with any of them. Unlike my other Inspirons, this one is considerably lighter. And with the solid state drive it is as quiet as a church mouse, i.e., I had to check it was on the first time I pushed the power button as I could hear nothing. And the solid state drive is exceedingly FAST starting up and retrieving data. Being lightweight the only negative is that I find the thin and lightweight CD drive/DVD burner rather flimsy compared to my previous Inspirons. But, all in all, you can’t go wrong with this PC.

This desktop system has quick performance for the average home user. I installed a second SDD to add more storage. The install was very easy as the case included cabling for a second drive and easily accessible mount points. I've only had this system for a few weeks, but anticipate no problems in the future as Dell has a solid reputation for quality and service.

This is the 2nd Dell Desktop computer we have owned. The first one lasted us 13 years! Switching to Windows 10 from Windows 7 was much easier than we thought. The computer fires up fast, and is so quiet that many times we check to see if its on. We use our old Logitech keyboard, as the one that came with the new computer is a tad small. Still trying to figure out how to get our copier to work with it, but all in good time. Can't go wrong with a Dell Inspiron Desktop.

Overall this is a great computer for home use. Easy to set up Windows 10. This desktop is so quiet you don't even know it is on. It has a VGA port for older monitors and another port for newer monitors. The cdrom drive is a little flimsy but works just fine. I would recommend this PC desktop. Great deal for the price

I use this computer for internet research and record keeping. So far it has worker pretty well. Occasionally it gets hung up for a few seconds and I'm not sure what that is about as I'm not very computer savvy. Other than that I'm well pleased with this computer and I would buy the same on again.

I wanted a desktop with a solid state hard drive and this Dell Inspiron was exactly what I was looking for. It's quick and quiet, thanks to the solid state hard drive, and is reasonably priced. A great everyday computer that I would recommend to anyone.
