Customers are saying

Customers are satisfied with the S3220DGF monitor's screen size, refresh rate, and resolution, frequently praising its suitability for gaming and work. Many appreciate the monitor's quality, HDR capabilities, and FreeSync technology, although some noted the absence of built-in speakers and the monitor's weight as drawbacks. A few users reported issues with dead pixels or ghosting, but these concerns were less prevalent than positive feedback. The curved screen is also a feature that many users enjoyed.

Love the monitor so far. Works great with my rtx 2070. So much better for gaming then my samsung 4k monitor. If you look at this review it will also give you a link to using the calibrated settings and also show you how to get the best color out of your new monitor! https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/dell/s3220dgf I am huge into calibration and this monitor does the job and then some. Love gaming and really wanted this for the HDR. I know its only HDR 400 but still is better then not having it. Will be PC gaming and console gaming on this baby, and this is the reason I chose this over others just a G-Sync only monitor and the size is awesome! If you decide to grab this monitor you will not be let down. Silky smooth frames and great color. G-Sync compatible and it does not have any issues with my nvidia card, as well as freesync 2 for the consoles. I don't think their is a better monitor for the price out there.

Crack suddenly appears on screen after 5 months. Multiple similar issues identified in Dell forums with description "Dell S3220DGF, screen cracked". Extremely disappointed. This stinks of a manufacturing defect.

First, Best Buy clearly sold me an open box cause it was very easy to open tape barely hanging on and it still had someone else’s settings saved on it. But I have 0 complaints with the monitor itself. 144 hz plus curved and all the features just so so nice compared to other similar monitors and you can’t beat the price. Sure it’s a VA panel and not something nicer but this is my best purchase this year for sure. Use it for work and gaming, color is amazing and so easy to adjust height and tilt. HDR on PS4 Pro works just fine with this monitor I’m sure even better for PC players. Definitely recommend and so easy to setup.

      Hello David,

We are sorry to hear that your S-Series monitor is behaving abnormally. We recommend you perform diagnostics to determine the severity of the issue. Provided below are instructions to do so.

      1. Make sure that the monitor screen is clean (no dust particles on the surface of the screen).

      2. Unplug the video cable(s) from the back of the monitor and the PC. The monitor should now enter self-test mode.

      3. Press and hold the menu button for 5 seconds. A gray screen should appear.

      4. Carefully inspect the screen for abnormalities.

      5. Press again. The color of the screen should now change to red.

      6. Inspect the screen for any abnormalities.

      7. Repeat Step 5 and Step 6 to inspect the screen in green, blue, black, white and text screens.

      8. The test is complete when the white screen appears.

      9. Press again to exit the built-in self test diagnostics.

If you find the issue is present during the built-in self test mode, you may get the monitor repaired or replaced if it is under warranty by contacting Dell Support directly.

      Best Regards,
      Anthony P.

I was thinking about buying this one, Asus Rog 32", or Samsung 32" monitor. I decided with this because it's available for pickup at the BB near my home. Refresh rate at 165Hz is awesome especially coming from 60Hz. The color is very accurate out of the box. Just enable FreeSync in order to enable G-Sync. The size makes it great to play not only FPS but other genres as well. It doesn't turn vertical but still good for coding if you code. I'm running this with an EVGA RTX 2070 w/ G-Sync enabled (you don't have to spend more on a G-Sync monitor). I haven't had any issues yet playing Battlefield 5 and Battlefront 2. Getting ready to see how well it'll be with Modern Warfare. Still testing it out with other games to see if I'll experience that blackout like the other review, but I'm confident that I'll keep this one. Overall, I highly recommend this monitor. Great price for the quality.

I basically have never seen a monitor with these stats and options for the price I got mine from Best Buy. At $360 I got the 32 inches 1440p 165hz, free-sync 2, 4ms response time. The curve display really helps with the emergence of gaming and yet it's not too big that you lose sight of things while gaming. The monitor swivels, rise, and twitch, which again is something not all monitors have. On top of that, it has a very good HDR function that I can actually see differences in games with. You will be very hard-pressed to find an 165hz panel with hdr, at least 4ms, and Freesync at 32inch for under $400

While Samsung has the current crown for the best gaming monitor, that same monitor has a hefty price tag. This Dell monitor comes close, but at a much better price point. I replaced my older 32" HP Pavilion display due to the annoyances that Vsync introduces, specifically when you have a game that jumps around the 50FPS range, causing the game to jump between 30 and 60fps. Removing Vsync isn't an option in games with high motion, as you get that wonderful "tearing" affect that sometimes causes motion sickness. This is where this and other gaming monitors with G-Sync and FreeSync come into the picture. This particular monitor is FreeSync 2 compatible and it makes such a difference in games. You get more FPS on average due to the monitor taking over the job of syncing frames to prevent screen tearing so you can disable Vsync completely. The resolution is ideal for mid-high range GPUs of today, as it takes an expensive beast to handle 4k, and I'd wager most of you can't tell the difference between 2k and 4k, at least not in a way that makes it worth $1000 of difference. The color gamete is excellent, HDR appears to work well, and the tilt/height adjust on the stand is excellent. My old flat 32" barely fit underneath my desk so I was concerned when I saw this monitor listed as being "taller." It turns out the screen can actually adjust lower due to the height adjustment on the stand, so it works perfectly for me. The curved screen is okay; I don't have a particular preference for this, but it's nice. The matte finish is perfect for preventing glare. The high refresh rate is satisfying. If you have the hardware to push games into the 80+ FPS range, this monitor will let you take full advantage of it all the way up to 165 fps. And best of all, no dead pixels on my display! The monitor comes with a power cable (standard PC power cable) a Displayport cable and a HDMI cable.

Coming from a BenQ 27" TN panel, then to an Acer 27" VA panel, and now to this. I am overall impressed with the resolution bump from 1080p to 1440p. The screen has no glare and is really crisp and colorful. I kept this in my shopping cart for the longest time and finally pulled the trigger and got it on sale when my local BB had it in stock. I currently have it set up using HDMI at 144hz and it is a very noticeable difference, far better then 60hz. Made a few minor tweaks to the settings and its almost flawless. No dead pixels out of the box either. I also havent noticed much light bleed, at least not enough to be significant compared to my last two monitors. CPU and GPU: Ryzen 7 3700x XFX RAW II rx 5700xt

This is the best monitor for your money! 32 inches of awesome 2K resolution with 144hz! I got it mainly because my wife kept playing on our QLED TV and I just can't go back to 1080P 60 hertz gaming while our TV supports 4K 120 FPS this bad boy can do 144 hertz at 1440p or 2K. Anyways paired it with my Xbox Series S and with a max output of 120HZ and 2k it's perfect. The size is amazing the color and contrast and HDR settings including gaming settings is wow. The curved screen and able to adjust the angles is a bonus plus the insfaltion requires no tools just pop it in place and tighten a built in bolt you're good to go. Halo, Cold War, Gears 5, games that support that output look awesome plus now me and my wife can now play together. I got a price match on it as well saved me an extra $30 but got insurance and came to like $530 listen this monitor is worth it you don't need a 4K monitor especially if it only does 60HZ the way I see it 2K 120HZ > 4k 60hz

IMPORTANT: Get yourself a DisplayPort 1.4 cable to use this monitor at its full refresh rate smoothly with no glitches. I at first used a DP 1.2 cable, and realized it gives you things like flickering and odd stutters. This monitor is incredible. It provides a full 1440p 165hz (164hz usable) with HDR10. What does this mean? It means if you have a capable graphics card, it can display HDR video and gaming almost flawlessly. With current version of Windows 10, you can use Windows HDR color and just your browser and desktop will display rich colors and smooth fonts. Watching a full 4K video with HDR on YouTube will mesmerize you. Optionally, you can EASILY scale this monitor to higher resolutions at or above 4K on games and certain apps. You will be sacrificing frames for this, but for story-driven non-competitive games it looks incredible. Make sure to download the official Dell drivers for this monitor as well, easily found by typing this model number in to Google. I have seen some reviews that said this monitor came with dead pixels but mine came without any issues whatsoever. Don't hesitate to pick this up if you're in the market. I got this on sale recently but I'd even recommend it at full MSRP because it's just that great. Great job Dell on this one.

I can't recommend this monitor enough! Dell continues to produce quality monitors. This is one of my favorite monitors and is currently the best, in my opinion, bang for the buck (especially on sale!). The monitor is great for shows (paired with a 4k Firestick) and also performs amazingly with a PS5. As a computer monitor, the text is sharp and crisp. I also have a Dell Ultrasharp U3415W 34 inch curved, costing a little more than twice as much compared to this monitor! Without a doubt, this beats my ultrawide (and my other two monitors, a 29 inch Ultrawide Dell and an Acer 34inch Ultrawide, both for around the same cost as this monitor) and is a no-brainer purchase if you're in the market for a mid-range gaming/multimedia monitor at a great everyday price. One note is that this monitor does not have built in speakers but its an easy fix :)

I had to replace an Asus MG279Q 27" 144hz IPS panel that cost around $150 more then this monitor. I read a lot of good reviews about this monitor so I decided to take a chance on it. It's a great monitor for the price. The IPS panel I had looked better when viewed from the side and because it had the same resolution at a smaller size it was a little bit sharper. This monitor however because it's a VA panel has a much higher contrast. It also has HDR which is fantastic. The refresh rate and freesync range are also higher on this monitor as well. I thought the curve might bother me, but it doesn't. The one I received has very slight light bleed or clouding but it's barely noticeable unless looking at a totally black screen in a very dark room. Also no dead pixels, stuck or flashing pixels. So after using it for a few weeks I can honestly say you can't go wrong with buying this monitor at less then $400.

I had a 34in 2k IPS 120hz LG that I loved. I happen to toss a pen onto my desk that bounced up and poked a hole in the screen that resulted in lines going up and across. I purchased this as a replacement. The LG was 1200 dollars. This screen was purchased for less then a quarter of that. The screens picture is nice. It rivals the lg. I don’t think the blacks are as deep but games look amazing. Colors are good and close to perfect out of the box. At below 400 dollars I can’t find anything to complain about. I went from a 1200 dollar IPS to this AV panel and I don’t feel like I was downgraded. It overclocks to 165 easily works with gsynch and has a Nice modern look to it as well. It’s is definitely sturdy and I am extremely surprised and happy with it’s performance. I don’t think anyone could be disappointed with this monitor especially at this price.

Bought this on an unnanounced pre-black Friday sale, and wow! This monitor, for the price, is second to none! Gaming in faster refresh rates really does make a difference, and combining that with the amazing picture quality and slightly curved display angles, this monitor will amaze. The colors, once calibrated slightly, pop out, blacks are black, and motion blur is nearly non-existent. I have it hooked to my Alienware laptop with Geforce 1070, and average frame rates anywhere from 65-140 fps, even when maxing out video settings, and it's flawless when hooked up to my consoles as well. All in all, very please with this purchase for the price!
