A well built device with a gorgeous display

The display on XPS 15 is simply stunning. I've been using the device since 2 weeks and I still can't stop complimenting the beauty of the screen. Overall, it's a well built machine packed in a pretty thin chasis for the performance. I use it as my daily device while travelling as well as when home (the 15' form doesn't ask for a separate monitor). The white color also fits well with my setup and the touchscreen is a cherry on top when I'm sitting on my bed too lazy to use the mouse. I do some casual gaming as well and the performance is satisfactory (not too crazy, but I can run most games over 60fps). The battery life is pretty good and lasts around 6-8hrs of multitasking (music, programming and browsing). I'm yet to come across any major "cons" of the laptop apart from slightly less powerful in terms of gaming compared to other options in the range, but as for productivity this is one of the best device to pick up.

I'll start off by saying you're definitely paying a premium for the XPS name, and build quality for sure. Exceptional build quality aside, you're gettting a gorgeous 4Kish OLED display with super inky blacks. Having owned it for the past 3 months I haven't had any issues with OLED burn in. The thin bezels also help with the premium look. There aren't too many laptops with this look, even the new Macs have the notch. Though to be fair, the Macs have a better camera. The speakers were pretty good as far as Windows machines are considered. It's got the latest Intel laptop CPU, paired with an entry level RTX 3050TI card. This is NOT a gaming PC. You won't be playing the latest and greatest games at max settings, but most modern games can be played at 1080p with medium. I did try playing Forza Horizon 5 on this laptop, and I found if you set your resolution to 1680 x 1050, you can turn most settings to high and maintain 60 fps, while making use of the the full 16:10 aspect ratio of the screen. Of course this varies based on games, you'll definitely have to experiment if frame rate is important to you. I personally use the laptop mostly for school, and of course it's fantastic in that regard. My only two gripes, are the camera and the battery life which aren't the greatest. The camera quality is really lacking, so much so laptops a quarter of the price of this have better cameras, it's 720p and super grainy. While I understand it's a consequence of having thin bezels I really expected more. As for the battery life If I fully charge the laptop to max, I can probably get 2 and a half hours unplugged, while working with Word, or Excel at medium brightness. Still I tend to carry my charger around with me, so it's not such a huge issue. But even with these "problems" I have to say there aren't many laptops that look this good, and feel so premium, and having the latest CPU and GPU makes it a much more compelling device then last years model, especially with the new GPU. It's overall a great laptop, and I definitely think it's worth taking a look at if you're into the Windows ecosystem.

Overall: I am a long time Mac user but I really loved using windows 11 on my desktop work station and wanted a similar experience on the go. I was spoiled by the full aluminum body of the Mac, its beautiful screen and the generously sized and super precise trackpad. I was hardpressed finding a similar windows based laptop. Until I found the new XPS 15s. The white looks absolutely gorgeous and the 3.5K OLED screen absolute blows my macbook's screen out of the water and makes it's thicker bezels look date (I have the 16 inch MBP which actually has smaller bezel to screen ratio than the ancient looking 13 inch model). The keyboard feels crisp and the trackpad is very satisfying to interact with. The biggest draw for me however is probably that gorgeous screen, it just cannot be beat. All of this, and you also get a 3050 TI in there giving you amazing hardware acceleration. Other thoughts: The only thing I would change if I could would be to put a AMD cpu in there... but, honestly this intel will never be a bottleneck for 99.9% of people out there. This is an AMAZING and breathtaking laptop. Do not hesitate to buy it. Also due to microsoft and apple playing nice, the sync between my iPhone and my windows devices is FANTASTIC, all my files upload almost instantly and are available across all my devices and thanks to outlook all my calendars, emails, and to do lists (Microsoft to do and apple reminders work together) sync without a hitch, its a truly seamless experience. Battery: I get around 5 hours at 90-100% brightness and 8.5 hours at 40-50% brightness. These are obviously NOT gaming times and I spent a little bit of time to debloat and optimize my setup. I am running windows 11 beta dev build.

I bought an open box excellent which came with the charger still wrapped, but with literal crumbs on the computer.. Best Buy… you couldn’t wipe down the computer at all? Also USPS stated my package had to be signed for and the worker delivered my package to my neighbor across the street from me and never even requested a signature. I wouldn’t of had a computer to review if I wasn’t close with my neighbors! Besides that headache, I love the accessories that come with the computer allowing for the use of a regular usb mouse, how there’s charging ports on both sides of the computer, and how easy the setup was. I bought this computer with intentions to fit my CS major in college and to play the sims 3. I can’t say anything about the computers performance for school work as classes have not started yet but the sims 3 loads in seconds regardless of all my cc and runs super quiet, until the battery needs to charge. Then the computer runs like crazy heating up, and my game starts freezing and lagging. It is annoying but not a huge deal breaker. However what is a deal breaker is how easily the keys of this computer fall off. I was carrying my computer (open) with the charger on the keys and when I took the charger off one of the keys was hanging off and flimsy. I was able to press it back in but that’s just unacceptable at this price point. I still love this computer, it’s sleek and does what I need of it, I just need to be extra careful with whatever I do. Basic things like watching videos and having multiple tabs open run smoothly, and the battery last pretty long (excluding strenuous things like playing games). Coming from a 2015 MacBook Air, I really miss airdrop and how my phone connected to my computer showing my notifications. So when I found “Dell Mobile Connect” it somewhat gave me the same experience of my Mac. You can have your phone’s notifications show up on your computer, and sync your phone screen on the computer. However messaging on the computer does not work for me. And before I forget to mention, the camera is horrible on this xps. It’s weird how my old 2015 MacBook is more clear then this $1000+ computer. If you enjoy pixels you’ll love this xps, but my selfie days appear to be over. The 4k resolution and touch screen are great, but a better camera would be even better. I wouldn’t return this computer, and I couldn’t anyway since the deadline passed but I’m happy with my purchase. If I wasn’t majoring in CS though I would’ve gotten the M2 MacBook Air. Just straight up. (Skin from dbrand)

I'm a tech guy and I did a fair amount of research for this laptop. I wanted it all as close as I could get - latest chips and performance, battery life, great screen, larger screen (I'm coming from a 12.5"), aesthetically pleasing, light, etc. I went around to MicroCenter, Best Buy, and online and read a lot of articles at CNET, Tom's Guide etc.. and a lot of YouTuber's reviewing this unit or recent units. Lots of great choices these days and let's just start by being thankful on the selections we have. I short listed the following: Lenovo X1 Carbon 14", Dell XPS 15" with OLED, Pending Macbook Pro with M1x chip, MacBook Air and a lightweight gaming laptop (like ASUS ROG Zephyrus). All of these computers would have the power, reasonable battery life and their own aesthetics. I'm coming from my last laptop being a Lenovo ThinkPad S1 Yoga that has worked faithfully for 7 years, but is getting slow. Most of what I really do is browsing, excel, basic software like quicken, media consumption and eventually some light gaming. All of these are more power than I need, but I buy for longevity and probably won't buy another laptop for 5 to 7 years. This laptop is really nice. It is up there with the MacBook for presentation and when you unbox it. I REALLY like the arctic white to get something different from just a black laptop. It boots up FAST. I was shocked. I thought only Macs booted this fast. Maybe so, but this is still really good. Completely off to on and ready to go in like 15 seconds or less. So Nice! This laptop has windows "Hello" and a fingerprint scanner. Usually it recognizes my face and immediately opens. In low light I sometimes have to use the fingerprint scanner. I fretted about getting the OLED screen and losing battery life, but man I am so glad I did. It is stunning to look at and especially since Dell as the microedge display and the screen fills up most of the area. Very nice to look at and I actually need the 15+ inch screen for spreadsheets, charts and stuff. The computer is fast. The trackpad is very good although I do seem to be having trouble at times getting the trackpad to "left click" when I want it to at a certain height on the track pad. It might just be a simple adjustment and what I'm used to. I've had no issues in 2+ weeks now using this great computer. I've learned that if you go to "dark mode" or "black mode" for your browser, Outlook, and other apps this helps extend life. I'm getting probably 6 to 8 hours right now remote with this computer. Is it +10 and more like with the Apple computers? No, but still more than what I have needed. The best buy sales person who was helping me loved Lenovo and believed that Dell was inferior on quality as compared to Dell. I generally agreed with them. However, the XPS line is a step above normal Dells and this generation is highly reviewed. My sales person was excellent, however they strangely didn't know anything about the Dell XPS 15" or that there was even a model on the floor. When I asked about the XPS they were pushing me to Lenovo which I'm fine with and the reasons why were accurate based on my recent experience with laptop reviews and the fact that my company buys us Dell latitudes to use and they are OK. We somehow missed the single XPS model on the floor of the showroom (myself included and I was looking for it), finally found it, and started playing with it. The sales person who didn't ever notice this computer said they wanted to play with it for awhile and see how it responded. They opened like 50 chrome tabs at once and it didn't stutter at all. They did a lot of key strokes to quickly open a bunch of apps and switch between them and there was no lag. The sales person looked at the hinge and how the laptop clamshells shut perfectly and said how some of the lesser Dell or HP units were uneven at times. This person admitted they had overlooked this line and were actually warming up and very interested in the 15" XPS and said they would probably start to recommend it. I really liked it and they had 1 unit left in the store for me to buy which I did. I should also say that had a Lenovo X1 carbon been on the floor I might have considered that. However, Lenovo had soldered ram as I recall and the Dell doesn't and for me to get up to the specs I wanted so I didn't have to worry about future obsolescence the machine would have topped over $3k before tax and warranties. Lenovo would have been a sweet machine and more for a mobile warrier, but this XPS is better for an "all arounder" like me. I eliminated the Apple products for a couple of reasons. I envy their new chip technology and wish Intel had something as good. Had boot camp or Parallels software seemed more stable with the M1 chip I would have STRONGLY considered a Mac. But the ability to use windows reliably was a big detractor for me. Also, I own iphones and that ecosystem would have been nice. However, I'm actually a happy windows user and didn't want to make the switch to a new operating system or wait which were the other 2 detractors. The blazing performance of the Mac M1 chips wasn't enough to sway my entire decision. I eliminated the ASUS gaming computer because they don't have webcams and weren't quite as aesthetically pleasing and concerns about heat on the go. I'd have to buy more accessories. The sales person thought that such computers don't work as well on the "go" and as all around top performing laptops. However, the cost on gaming laptops is actually less than the Dell XPS and Lenovo as I recall. Still may be worth considering for others on the fence. Really, I'd probably be satisfied with any of the above computers because performance is so good today and that would satisfy my core needs. But the Dell XPS performs really well, is beautiful to behold and touch (Aesthetics means something to me), and gives me a lot of pride of ownership. I look forward to using it every day! I have ZERO regrets and haven't second guessed myself once.

*I purchased this at a deep discount owing to this being the 2021 model and coming in open-box condition.* This laptop is a great feat of engineering: it's thin, light and reasonably powerful for nearly any workload one can throw at it. My unit has been reasonably quiet even when playing games or doing demanding workloads. I've played Fortnite, RDR2, and Destiny 2 on this device and they've performed great, with the only caveat being having to reduce the resolution from the original 3.5k to a 1080p equivalent to produce adequate visuals/framerates. This laptop is upgradable: you can swap the included 1tb ssd or add another one into its open slot. You can also upgrade the ram, which is beneficial as DDR4 sodimms are cheaper than ever owing to the emergence of DDR5 in the newest generation of laptops. 64gb of ram (2x32gb) only cost me around $180, and the upgrade took a few minutes to do. It runs off of a 130w Dell customized version of USB-C power, but can also run (with slight battery drain) on any standard 100w or lower USB-C power supply that can also charge your phone, headphones, handheld game consoles, etc. This form factor of laptop mimics earlier versions of the MacBook Pro that prioritized thinness and USB-C/Thunderbolt expandability. I also regularly use an M1 Pro MacBook, which runs cooler, quieter and with less energy than this laptop owing to its different processor architecture. Despite these differences, the XPS 9510 is able to have a similar form factor and run efficiently while running an 8 core x86 architecture chip! It's helpful to have an efficient Windows machine that I can run renders or games on during the summer without heating up my room like my desktop 11700k/3080 machine does. The build quality is superb: the white casing is beautiful and offers great key contrast to negate the need for keyboard backlighting even in low light scenarios (although the backlighting is there, it can affect the legibility of the keys in low light). The hinge can be opened with one hand and the outer metal/internal plastic finish feels premium. The screen is bright, colorful, contrasty and presents blacks/dark content beautifully compared to an IPS panel. It's a glossy glass laminated display with great clarity and touch screen support for scrolling and zooming in. I've set the Windows resolution to 1920x1200 for everyday use as it's hard to notice the extra detail at a seated distance away from the screen. This helps in games that have poor full-screen scaling (RDR2 especially) and reduces the overall strain on the iGPU and dGPU. For content creation, the full resolution and color accuracy are incredibly useful. The only issue I've had with this unit (and other 9510 OLED models I've tried in the past) is that the trackpad is somewhat wobbly on one side. It can be pressed lightly before it clicks in, but ultimately does not affect the usability. Given that I have an open-box model, I am not entirely surprised or upset about it, but if I had paid the full original price I would be disappointed that the fit and finish is great in all areas except for this crucial part of using the laptop. TLDR: this is a great thin and light, do-it-all (gaming, content creation, web-browsing) Windows laptop that I highly recommend at its current discounted price. The newer models are also available open box for cheap and are even better in terms of performance in the same great form factor.

Excellent buy. The outer finish is awesome. The track pad is wide for more flexibility. Touch screen is very responsive. Resolution is great especially for graphic editing. Processing speed is very fast. The laptop boots up when open without pressing the power button. Clear and precise sound from the speakers.

With the XPS 15 9510, Dell closes in on the elegance of design and construction of that competitor from the other side of the tracks. A sexy, well-built chassis that has all the right “feels” no matter where you touch it. At four and a quarter pounds in this configuration, it is more of a desk-dwelling warrior than a Starbucks poseur. But with the specs it possesses, it is designed for some serious work rather than simple web browsing or novel writing anyway. My sample had an Intel Core i7-11800H processor running at 2.3GHz with 16GB of RAM, and an NVIDEA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics card with 4GB of memory. The OLED, Gorilla Glass touch screen is 15.6 inches, which is a noticeable step up from the 13 inch machines so many of us have become accustomed to in recent years. There are front-firing tweeters on each side of the keyboard making use of the added width this screen size provides, and there are also woofer openings at the bottom edges on the sides for four speakers total. This large screen did make me aware of something that others might also have an issue with. Because of the chassis size, the wrist rests on either side of the huge touch-pad make for a long reach to the upper rows of keys and if you wear a watch or bracelets, they will tend to drag on the wrist rests. This area is covered with a patterned and textured woven glass fiber material on the Arctic White version rather than aluminum, so I am unsure at this point of what if any damage might be inflicted upon the computer or whatever is adorning your wrists. The OLED screen is big, bright, and beautiful with narrow bezels that make our older laptops look like relics from the distant past. A sensor, infrared emitters, a camera, and camera-status light hide in the bezel at the top of the screen that is slightly wider than it is at the sides. While the screen is a very responsive touchscreen, this is a true laptop rather a two-in-one and the screen does not fold over into a tablet form factor. When you go to open the lid the first thing you will notice is that there is not a thumb indent to make it easy to pull up on the screen. My thumb will slip off a time or two before it can find enough purchase to pull the cover open. A small nit to pick, but it can be annoying. Unlike some other laptops that make you use either a fingerprint reader, or use facial recognition, this Dell uses both in addition to a traditional PIN entered via the keyboard, giving you your choice of three different ways to unlock your machine. Nice. The keyboard is your traditional laptop design with “Chiclets” shaped keys that have perfect feel and spacing, but…the white coloring is a major letdown for me. Being older, an eyeglass wearer, and a two-finger typer, the narrow-lined font is harder for me to read than some other manufacturer’s keyboards. Add to this the white backlighting, and I find myself quite often turning the backlighting on and off depending on ambient lighting conditions. The backlighting has three settings, low, high, and off with one of the function keys cycling through these settings. When the backlighting is on in low-level room light, the markings on the keys will all but disappear (see pictures). And in some lighting situations, you can see uneven light dispersal especially behind keys with words on them. If I had my druthers, I druther have black keys. If you are someone who sits with their laptop in their…lap, you will not want to do that with this laptop especially when you are doing any work that stresses the machine. There are air intake vents across the bottom of the chassis, with exhaust vents at the hinge area. If you are doing processor-intense work, you will probably want to stay on a smooth, hard surface with this computer so as to not impede air flow. When I was doing the initial set-up with the computer and it was running hard, the fans came on full speed and it was surprisingly noisy. I can’t remember the last time I heard laptop fans make this much noise. However, in normal use it was quiet. A few final things, if you need to physically lock your computer to your work area, the security-cable slot accepts a wedge-shaped lock tip, and since the 9510 has only USB Type-C ports, Dell does include an adapter to convert USB Type-A or HDMI cables to fit in a Type-C port. Two of the three USB ports are Thunderbolt 4 connections and there is WiFi 6 capability for fast connections. There is an SD card slot also which photographers will appreciate. Dell does include “Dell Migrate” software on the computer to assist in moving files and settings from your old machine to this new one. Dell has designed a very handsome and powerful machine with this newest XPS series and aside from a couple niggles that most people will chalk up to personal preference, I have no reservations about giving it five stars and a hearty thumbs-up to those users that need a powerhouse laptop but don’t need to carry it with them all day, every day.

First, truth in review…I am a Mac guy. I just purchased a MacPro to handle my business and academic needs. But I’ve been a Mac guy long enough to know a PC as a secondary computer is a must. I have this laptop paired with a 38” Ultrawide LG display, connected via USB. The LG will power some laptops with the USB-C connector, but this boy just needs too much juice. As for the laptop, great display, great does not do it justice, it is stunning. More than fast enough for any normal software you through at it, no, it's not a gaming machine, but will handle light gaming just fine due to the 4GB Video Card. Unusual for a laptop these days, you can expand the RAM yourself by adding another 16GB, the storage, however, you get what you buy, I recommend maxing it out to the offered 1 TB. Overall, I am impressed with the speed, display, and build quality. Yes, it’s a pricey laptop, but I believe you’re getting your money’s worth.

Before I give you the lowdown on this Dell XPS, I just want to say what I’ve been saying for years: “why can’t PC manufacturers make a laptop as beautiful and sleek as MacBook?”! This Dell XPS is the nicest Windows laptop I’ve seen in a long time! From every angle, it is clean, nice design that rivals the MacBook’s! The unboxing experience was quite nice, the box it was in looks like a gift box, everything is laid out very nicely inside. Because the XPS has only Thunderbolt and USB-C ports (3 of them), a USB-C dongle was included, this adds 1 standard USB and 1 HDMI port. It’s a cleverly designed dongle I might add. Included is a 130W USB-C charger in matching white. Once unboxed and unwrapped, you’ll notice the beautiful, clean, minimalistic design. A simple Dell logo on front, and a few ports (2 thunderbolt ports, a gen 2 USB-C, headphone jack, SD slot, and locking port) on the edge and not much more. In the front center of the laptop, in front of where the mouse is, there is a white LED light to let you know how much battery is left, a nice touch. The back edge of the laptop is very clean; no obvious hinge lines are visible. Once opened, the laptop is all white with a beautiful matt carbon fiber look to it. The keyboard is roomy; I have no problem typing on this laptop all day. The touchpad is oversized as well, measuring 6” wide by 3.5 deep”! The best part of this laptop, the beautiful OLED screen with the thinnest bezel (approx. 1/8” thin border) I’ve seen! Performance and functionality: I like that this laptop has both Windows Hello facial unlocking technology as well as a fingerprint reader. All the other laptops I have in the house has one or the other. The power button on the upper right of the keyboard doubles as a power button and fingerprint reader. I’m not a big fan of the placement of that power button, I’m used to the most upper right hand button the delete key. I feel there are some buttons you don’t move around or add more buttons next to it, the ESC is always upper left, CTRL is lower left and the Delete key should always be on the upper right. Aside from that, the keyboard is pretty much standard Dell, you have function buttons that do 2 jobs, volume settings, brightness etc. The time it takes to bootup is very fast, I was up and running in 14 seconds! I installed MS-Office and a stock trading software that includes with streaming videos, performance was excellent, as I expected. It’s very quiet overall, I don’t even hear the fan going on. I also installed a few games including F1 2020 and Valorant; both games ran very smoothly and without a hitch. The colors on the OLED screen were bright and vibrant, it made the F1 cars look much nicer than it did on my other monitor and laptop. This screen has spoiled me! The colors on my other monitor and laptop seemed muted in comparison. Quirks I noticed while testing the laptops: On 2 occasions, the laptop froze on me. One time, I removed the power and the USB-C going to an external monitor, I got a blue screen and it was collecting diagnostic information except it didn’t get off 0%, I had to hold down the power button to force reboot. It froze again later in the evening as well. But since then, it seems to be okay. I also found the touchpad a little finicky. I would try to scroll up on a webpage using 2 fingers, it kept going into “Multitasking view”, which should’ve required 3 fingers with a scrolling upwards motion; this happened several times. Conclusion: While this laptop is on the higher end of the price spectrum, you get your bang for the buck. The InfinityEdge and OLED screen are my favorite features, if I had to pick only 2. It’s absolutely gorgeous and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful computer! If you don’t want to spend so much, look for the same XPS 15” without the OLED screen.

I just received the laptop and I am very impressed with it. I am not easy to get impressed since I have own to many computer. I currently have the MacBook Pro 16 and the Surface laptop 4 15". I like them, but this is something special starting with the color, when you are in front of it, it looks gorgeous. it run so smooth. I have the previous previous version 9500, but I have so many issues since the first day. it since Dell is paying more attention to quality control now, the trackpad is perfect now. it is not cheap, but I can feel that my money was well spent. my only concern that I have with Dell it is their customer services. it left much to be desired last time with my previous initiation with them with the 9500.

The Dell XPS 15 model 9510 is an impressive high-end laptop oriented at the creative user. With its 11th generation core i7-11800H processor, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti GPU (4GB of video RAM), and its 4-sided InfinityEdge display allows for plenty of room to create on. This model also comes with a 1 TB NVMe SSD and 16 GB of RAM. For something completely different for Dell - this model is also outfitted in a frost white, which gives it a very clean look. The device is outfitted with AX wireless and Bluetooth. For ports, it is also well proportioned with 2 Thunderbolt 4 USB Type-C ports with Power Delivery on the left side. On the right, it has a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port with Power Delivery/Display Port, an SD card slot, and a wired headset port. Rounding out the impressive features of this laptop is the sound system. It features a quad-speaker system with  Waves Nx 3D Audio and has 2 Speakers (1.5 W each) and 2 Subwoofers (2.5 W each). The 3 USB C-Type ports all having power delivery means that any of the three can be used to charge the laptop, which is a convenient feature. The laptop is manufactured from CNC Machined Aluminium with a woven glass fiber composite palm rest that includes a massive 5.91 in. X 3.54 in. TouchPad. This manufacturing and the 86Whr battery lead to a sturdy 4.31 lbs for the laptop. While a bit high for today's travel standards, this does not concern me too much should one need the capability offered by this system while on the road. Usage Impressions This laptop comes in a typical Dell box on the outside, but when opened you see a premium internal box that makes the presentation of this system very exciting - you can tell it's a premium product just by this packaging. The screen is a gorgeous 4K screen the has good responsiveness and contrast. The sound system was next up for testing and it is equally impressive while listening to numerous test songs that I use for testing audio devices.  Performance was tested by rendering a video that was handled without a hiccup. The system comes with a 6-cell, 86WHr battery. The battery life was tested by playing a long YouTube video and seeing how long the battery lasted - this ended up being nearly 7.5 hours. The last area tested was multi-monitor support and I was able to run the primary 4k display and 4 external displays including a second 4K display for a total of 5 displays (one via USB DisplayLink). I tried to add a 6th display using the 3rd set of ports but was unable to do so. Summary The XPS 15 is an impressive laptop. It has outstanding features and capabilities. it is no surprise that these features come at a premium price, retailing for $2549.99 in the tested configuration. This is not an unreasonable price for all the power you get. It would be interesting to see a 2-in-1 version of this system. With all the features and capabilities this laptop will help one to stay frosty! Pros: Performance, Multi-monitor support, Graphics, and Sound. Cons: Weight.

Unboxing this laptop was like opening an Apple product. It came in a nice white box and was so clean and crisp. This laptop is definitely unlike any other I have used in the past. It has a beautiful display and it is super fast. The trackpad is very large and the touch screen is super easy to use. It is definitely my new favorite toy. You can use either fingerprint, face recognition or pin to open the computer. I do have one complaint about the keyboard. The caps lock button is longer than normal and I have found myself continually accidently turning it on. I am hoping that the more I use it - I will get used to it and I won't have that issue any longer. This laptop is a complete beauty! The sound is amazing to watch movies and for gaming. This is a lighter laptop for gaming compared to other gaming laptops weighing about 4 pounds - but heavier than regular laptops. I would definitely recommend this laptop!

Have had the laptop about a month now and am very happy with the purchase. Its a joy to work on with the slim bezels and 3:2 aspect ratio. Once you go to that aspect ratio its really hard to go back. Coming from a surface book the biggest Pros and Cons: Pros: Screen. Its fantastic, you won't be disappointed and you'll have a hard to going to anything else. Touchpad is gigantic. Thought it would get in the way but its really nice. i7 11800 is a beast. I primarily work in excel and web based applications and have yet to have a slow down. Design. Simple from the outside, but with all the features when you open. Cons: Really missing my ports from the surface book. Fortunately it comes with a dongle, but still could have fit a usb a or hdmi if they wanted to. Battery Life is just ok. Understandable with the 4k oled screen and I'm typically plugged up or near a charger but its a problem if you leave your charger behind. Price is high, but you get what you pay for.

    Not Your Father’s Laptop

Dell’s XPS 9510 laptop is loaded with so much of the latest and greatest hardware (see pic for overview of the specs) that I am surprised the OS is not Windows 11. No worries, it’s a work of art in functionality and appearance. Given the excellent packaging, I believe Dell sees it that way, also. Taking it out of the box, you will notice the 9510 is a bit heavy, weighing in at 4+ pounds; but its performance should counteract negative feelings about the weight. It is available in Platinum Silver and Arctic White. I chose the white primarily because I have never had a white one. In certain light, the white color seems to affect the visibility of keyboard characters when the keys light up. That’s not a buzz kill, just a need to be conscious of lighting and adapt to it. The touch pad is the largest I have ever seen, and I love it. My fingers are not as limber as they used to be, so this pad means no more worrying about touching just the right spots on a small pad. The large pad does mean the keyboard is more compact; however, as I get more acclimated to it, it is not a problem. The OLED touch screen produces such great viewing that I find myself reluctant to “desecrate” it by touching it. My desktop is a Dell All-in-One that I’ve had about a year, and I totally love it. That said, the bar was set high as to my expectations of Dell’s new super laptop’s performance. The 9510 exceeds those expectations. Don’t forget to check out the specs shown in the accompanying picture. As to recommending the Dell XPS 9510, that is an affirmative.

I use this laptop on a regular basis and have encountered zero issues. The load and processing times are really fast, I didn't think I would use the touchscreen but I find myself often using the touchscreen when scrolling through news articles or research papers. I wanted something where I could also run virtual machines, and that works really well. The only drawbacks I encountered is the screen ratio and zoom size (default is 3456x2160, 250% zoom) can cause some programs to have really small text or other odd sizing; but, this can be corrected by adjusting the screen ratio and zoom settings as needed. One issue I encountered is the touchpad - this is hard to describe, but after about 4 months of using on an almost daily basis, the bottom of the touchpad does not work well when you press down to "click" on something; instead of pressing once to "click", I have to apply more pressure and for the touchpad to actually "click" (you can hear one light click at first, and then click again to actually left/right-click on something). That is the only annoyance because I use the touchpad regularly or when I'm not at a desk, therefore I'm using a mouse more often. I've heard of this happening from other reviews/videos that have used this laptop after about a year or so. My constructive feedback would be if Dell has gone this far to make a superior laptop, with it being solid/metal on the outside, you could go the extra step to have metallic keys/touchpad versus plastic. Built-in speakers are good, I don't use the camera but the built-in camera is low-quality in my opinion; however, I don't really care about the camera since I don't use that, I wanted a laptop that has good performance, and this laptop has met all of my expectations.

    First rate looks & performance

After unboxing this XPS 15, then going back to look at this listing, my first thought is that Dell needs to hire a new advertising department. The stylistic renderings in this listing do this piece of art absolutely no justice. You really need to see it in person. This laptop is stunning! The clean, sleek look of the exterior has the Macbook looking over its shoulder. The interior in Arctic white has a touch & feel like nothing I've seen in a laptop before. The diminutive size belies its heft - its 4.5 lbs of solid construction packed into a .7 inch thick package. In the performance department, the specs speak for themselves - a powerhouse i7, 1TB solid state drive, 16 gigs of ram, and an Nvidia 3050 to make things look pretty on the OLED infinity screen. I have my own performance test - my go-to game is Civilization 6, which I've been playing on my Alienware M17. Most of the graphics settings are halfway up, and at that, the M17 is breathing hard & hot. After installing it on the XPS, it automatically set the graphics sliders all the way up; and it handled it like a champ - no fan noise at all, as a matter of fact, the hottest thing was the power supply, not the XPS itself. Very impressed with the thermal handling of this unit under heavy load. Referencing one of the photos I included, I put the XPS next to my 15" HP Spectre, and you can easily see the efficient use of space the infinity screen allows - same size screen, smaller package. An inch can be a lot of space when you're working on a small desktop. The downside of that is it's taking some adjustment getting used to the key spacing, but that will come in time. I also appreciate the generously sized touchpad. Referring to another photo re: keyboard lighting, the white light on a white keypad is not a great match. Would appreciate the ability to change color as I can with the Alienware. The other thing that deserves mention is all the ports are USB-C, Provided in the package is an adapter (pictured) which includes one USB-A and one HDMI port. I would've preferred that this come as a dongle without the cable, even tho it's color matched, it still looks a little cheesy hanging outside this beautiful unit. I'll hit the aftermarket to get something a little more appropriate. All in all, I was at first put off by the price of this unit, but as I said at the start, you really need to see it in person & kick the tires to see they packed a lot of performance into a solid package with first class looks & feel.

I’ve had this laptop for less than a week and it’s already one of my favorites. It’s powerful, fast and has an excellent touchscreen display. The OLED display makes darks darker and the colors are vibrant. I’m not really a fan of the white finish so time will tell if gets dirty or is easy to keep clean. The touch sensor is not as easy to use as some of other brands available. I instead opted for the facial recognition which is much easier to use. Other than the white finish, the only complaint I have is about the lid. Most laptops have a cutout that allows you to open it with one hand. However, other than that, this thing nice!!
