Pros: Design: First off the design is just down right flawless. Its like holding a macbook but in windows form. I love how it feels thin and premium it feels just by holding it. This is not plastic designed to look like aluminium but it actually is aluminum! Ok maybe I'm a little excited about that but you have to understand I have been out of the loop with Dell for years and I have had no idea that their quality have been pushed to this level. You will not be disappointed as you hold this beast of a laptop in the hand. What strikes me is that its light, I have an iPad Pro 12.9 in a 3rd party keyboard case that brings the iPad to 2 pounds and this FULL laptop is nearly the same size as carrying that around. Lets just say I will not be using the iPad or any Android tablets anymore. There is no fan on this machine at all so you can place this on the lap all day. The bottom of the laptop gets somewhat warm but its nothing alarming. There are 4 modes of position you can place the laptop into since this is a 2 in 1. Laptop mode, Tablet mode, Tent mode, and Presentation mode. Brace yourself there is much to go over here and I will try my best to explain my experience with these modes. Laptop Mode: Standard mode you and most likely other people will use. Nothing special here, This mode makes it look like a basic laptop and the mode Dell clearly designed this machine to be. Tablet Mode: This is a mix bag, There are things to love about tablet mode as you can use the device as a tablet for the tons of apps on the Windows store. Some people found it strange to hold in tablet mode and I'm here to report that it is depending on what you do. If you browsing around on the edge browser or using it to play Pandora then its very good to use. Basic task is great for the tablet mode but gaming is a different story. If you don't think so just go download a game like Gangstar: New Orleans and play it for 10 mins. You will quickly realize that the tablet mode is not very ergonomically designed to hold. The onscreen keys are placed so strangely that you would be digging the edges of the laptop into the palms of your hands no matter what position you hold it in. This is not comfortable at all but I most people wouldn't play games on this anyway and you can just use a USB controller which solves everything. The keys on the keyboard deactivate in this mode. Tent Mode: This makes the laptop pop up into tent mode so you can watch or play your Media, Music, or even play some old school games in a "Nintendo Switch" fashion. I use this mode more then I thought I would, Its nice to just pop it up and watch Hulu like a HDTV. Even used it for PS4 remote play to this PC in this mode and it felt great. I haven't fully set up Kodi but I'm just excited to try it in this mode. The webcam would also probably be better in this postion since its at the top instead of the bottom looking up your nose. Thumbs up to Dell for making this mode work flawless. Presentation Mode: Same like tent mode this pretty much make your screen more accessible. Allows easy touch for the screen and showcasing what you have on screen to friends / family / co-workers. Also might be the mode you would use to draw on screen if you have the optional Dell stylus (which I don't have.) I like this mode as well but there are some draw backs with sound which I will get to later. InfinityEdge Touch display: These modes are accompany by the very bright, vibrant, colorful screen! If there is one thing to droll over this ultrabook about is the screen. I am at an awe at the infinity edge display. Its something you must see to truly enjoy it. While this laptop is only 1080p, the screen is a head-turner. This is one of the best 1080p screen I ever encountered on a laptop period. The touch screen is responsive and fast. The thin bezels are so thin that I can't even imagine how they put something like this together. I have no dead pixels or issues with it at all. With iot being coated in Gorilla glass you have no worry about scratches. Wow, Again I'm impressed with Dell. Battery life: Dell 2 in 1 Ultrabook last with my task about 6-8 hours doing just day to day task such as checking Emails, News, Youtube, Netflix, Apple Music, Hulu, and Pandora. I love the battery life especially if you turn down the brightness a little you can made it a whole day but your task my very. There is a battery indicator bottom on the side of the laptop so you can always check without opening up the laptop. All in All I'm pleased with battery life and well some Android tablets I had in the past didn't last this long. On standby the battery drains so keep that in mind. Carbon fiber keyboard / Trackpad: The feel of the keyboard is nice and smooth. Easy to touch and type. In fact I'm typing this review on the machine its very comfortable. Carbon fiber feels nice on the palms of your hands and there is a backlight keyboard so you can see in the dark. The Trackpad is definitely one of the better feeling ones I ever tried on a windows device. Alot of people didn't like the keyboard but I have no issues with it. I like it. Speakers: Speakers are good and loud when in laptop mode. It's so loud that sometimes you have to turn it down if on 100% because it can fill a room but the speakers start to fall short in any other mode. Tent, Presentation, and Tablet mode all have not great sound. This device would have just benefited from having 4 speakers instead of 2. Performance: Fast. Here let me say it again FAST! The ultrabook is fast and speedy. The amount of RAM makes this device hums along without every having issues. like I never used a Windows PC that just eats though task without an issue grained I don't do 4K editing. Day to day taks just open up with ease and its not a headache to wait for things. Long gone are the days waiting for the PC to boot-up killing your battery. I love it and while yes it has a "weaker processor" then the normal XPS, This thing is just fast even with Intel i7y. I have no complaints about performance at all. Windows 10 / Windows Hello: Windows 10 helps this laptop to feel even more premium. One of the most productive and versatile electronics I have ever used. as for Windows Hello the IR camera update is inbound for the summer but the fingerprint scanner is flawless and works as good as any modern fingerprint unlocker on cell phones. No Issues when signing in but wish it had a backlight so can rest your finger on it at night. Very hard to see in the dark. Dell Pen: This also works with Dell's very on stylus / pen but have yet to try it. There is a little note taking app called windows ink workspace which seems really useful with the pen. Cons: No lip gap to lift the laptop lid: Yep one of the biggest issues is actually trying to open the laptop up. There is no resting finger lip in front of the laptop to open and this can get very annoying after a while. Something so little makes a big difference and I wish Dell would have put this into the design. They nearly had a very perfect design and all they had to do was add something like that. Maybe it had something to do with the design of Tent mode I'm not sure but it should have been on something like this. No full size ports: NOT. ENOUGH. PORTS. Look I get it its suppose to be thin, light, portable but sometimes you need a little bit more. There is nothing wrong with atlease one full sized USB port Dell, it would have been ok to make it a little bit thicker. This is something you have to get use to if you are not on the USB-C bandwagon yet. There is nothing but 2 USB-C ports, MicroSD slot, Power button / Sleep, Battery indicator and headphone jack (which I'm actually they put in here at all.) I've think I seen more ports on android phones before. I have no issues with the MicroSD card slot but really it should have been a full SD slot one for professional photographers. Though you have to remind yourself that you are going for portability here and these maybe some of the trade offs is the ones you have to dell with. No stars lost from the lack of ports. Wifi is spotty: Wifi is very spotty even for this machine. Sometimes the Wifi just gets disconnected for no reason. Sometimes it stay off when I turn the laptop back on from having it closed. Hopefully its just a firmware issue that can be fixed. This happen twice since I had it. Power button: The button is hard to press and sometimes you have to hit it again to make sure your finger touches it. If you have an microSD card in the slot sometimes you will mistake of the power button and popping out the SD card. This is dude to the fact that the power button and SD card nearly feels the same and being so close together. Something you will encounter in tablet mode. Just a mild annoyance in my opinion. No dedicated volume button: This would have came in handy for tablet mode. Fn keys with brightness isn't responsive: It's strange. The brightness Fn keys isn't responsive. It also lags the brightness many times after you press the keys. Out of everything this seems to be the most confusing because if you use the touchscreen to change the brightness its smooth and responsive. Maybe its Dell or maybe its Windows? Arrow keys need space from PgUP / PgDn: They are way too close to the arrow keys to the PgUP/PgDn. You may end up hitting these way more then expected. This should not be this close to the arrow keys at all. All in all with some of the shortcomings I still love this thing. I love using it, I love this display, and I love the portability of it. Its extremely versatile and a phenomenal productivity tool. Dell's 2 in 1 is a little bit on the pricey side but for something like this I can see why. You don't get anymore premium then this in a windows ultrabook. I would certainly recommend this to co-workers / family / and friends. Dell is bringing in a new era for themselves and pushing there limits of design.

We spent $1,800 dollars on a laptop that lasted under 2 years. I never complain and that’s why it’s my first ever review. We were told the mother board was the problem and it’ll cost $900 to repair. We lost all of our data and now our laptop is worthless. I will never buy from Best Buy or Dell again. You shouldn’t have to buy insurance if you know your product is great quality.

Overall, a very good 2 in 1. It's not a detachable type, it flips over to be used in a tent setup, or folded completely over to be used as a tablet. It is small for its screen size, light weight and the bezel around the screen is really thin compared to other recent laptop type devices. The processor handles loads decently for a laptop. Web browsers and light programs come up fine. The 16GB of RAM offers enough for programs and to be shared for display with no problems. It's silent, no fan, and never got too hot. Tried some low-level graphics game and they worked fine. The CPU has a low default state, but can jump in response to loads quickly. It took about an hour to update everything (updates to BIOS, all the drivers etc), remove unwanted programs, and install what I wanted. Best of all, basically no bloatware. The Office 1 year trail was it. Around 30GB was all that was used by the system and default programs after I cleaned it up. The Dell update program did not get in the way, popup or interfere, and it has some nice functions to help you keep the device updated. The BIOS is pretty robust with lots of options compared to some other laptops I've seen. The keyboard has a nice feel to it, and is not cramped. The backlit keys are nice. Not to bright, it does well in the dark. I also tried it with the Dell Active Pen and C-Dock. The Pen was recognized and works fine. The Dock added ports, and GB Ethernet. It connects by the Thunderbolt slot, and worked great while charging the device. I also upgraded the machine to Pro, with no problems. Sound is pretty standard for a laptop, stereo speakers. The camera took good pictures for video chatting. I put in a 128GB Micro SD card for extra storage and it was recognized with no issues. The screen is nice. The thin bezel lets it go almost from edge to edge. It's just 1080p, but it looks great. Touch is responsive and always registered my touch correctly in laptop or tablet mode. The internal Wi-Fi had no problems connecting to my network. I have an AC router and I got full speed. Through the Dell C dock, the GB Ethernet worked fine too. The hinges are my biggest worry with repeated flipping, but they seem solid. Overall is looks nice and sleek, not very thick at all. The silver and black look nice together. Overall, it's a nice solid 2 in 1, but nothing really stands out on this version compared to others.

    The Best Of Both Worlds

For several years, I’ve been a laptop user. My laptop device was mainly used for Microsoft Word and Office programs, surfing the net, watching movies and occasional photoshop tasks. I never really invested my interests into the whole laptop/touch device marketing. I figured that I already had a laptop and I already had a tablet, why would I need a two in one? Serendipitous events allowed me to get a Dell XPS 13 Convertible 2 in 1 Touchscreen Laptop. And I can honestly admit that everything that I had thought about a 2 in 1 laptop has changed. The thin bezel border creates a better viewing experience on the 13-inch screen. Every font and detail are sharp and clean. Colors are brilliant and the darks are deep as I streamed movies like Star Wars Rogue One and John Wick. I have a whole new appreciation for looking at photos on Instagram etc because the XPS screen quality presentation is AMAZING with its clarity. I’m used to seeing this kind of HD quality on my HD television. And what’s a bonus is that I can fold the device into ‘tent’ mode which allows me to watch whatever show or movie from a reasonable distance without the obstruction that you get from watching off of a laptop which sits lower to the surface of a table/counter. Folding the XPS is easy and provides no resistance. This device was made to be maneuverable on the fly. As a laptop, the XPS is solid with the keyboard being smooth, responsive and allowing me to feel every click of each key. The touchpad is as equally responsive but not to the point where if my palm brushes against it that it registers movement and offsets the cursor on the screen (a common issue with my previous laptop). The bonus of this device is that at any given moment I might feel like taking a break and want to burn some frivolous time by reading news sites or reading emails (these tasks I usually saved for my tablet or phone prior to having the XPS). I simply fold the screen backward all the way and now the XPS is the tablet that gives me access to my leisure time. I even play some Xbox One/Windows games on the XPS which I didn’t do on my laptop because I wasn’t sure if it was feasible. However, Dell provided some serious mobile power with the XPS and its Intel Core i7. Each app and program open incredibly fast. I was also impressed with the download speeds. The battery life of the XPS averages around 8 hours for me with steady use. The power cord that comes with the computer is a simple plug that doesn’t have the cumbersome power brick attached to it. I do have to say that with this laptop being a fan-less computer, it will a little hot if you rest it too long on your thighs when using it. With comfort and streamlined design, there have to be some sacrifices. The XPS doesn’t have full sized USB ports but does come with a dongle that allows me to plug in my flash drive so that my work can be uploaded to the 2 in 1 device. What struck me as odd was the placement of the web camera. It’s at the base of the screen which in turn provides a lower angle of your face when using apps like Skype but this is easily remedied if you fold the XPS into tent mode (the camera then is in an elevated and level position). Everything is going digital these days which explains as to why there isn’t a disk drive on the XPS. Sure, we all have movies or music on disk that might not be on the digital market or we might not want to pay for all over again. The easy solution to this dilemma is investing in a portable disk drive that ranges from $25 to $35 and can connect via Bluetooth or USB. The Dell XPS Convertible is a FUN device! The user can go from business to playtime in seconds. I somewhat regret not getting into the two in one market sooner but I am pleased that the Dell XPS introduced me to it.

This laptop has a distinct design and features that make it very satisfying to use. It has a thin chassis which make it easy to convert and use as a tablet. Like all laptops should be, this a quite light weight machine. Laptops are portable! This feature of thinness and lightness sacrifices a full-size USB port but it includes a USB-C to USB-A (full-size) adapter. I like the hybrid design with outer aluminum cover and black carbon fiber on the inside. I like the display because it is a full HD screen with an amazing responsive touch screen. The touchpad also has an amazing response with great precision when using. I enjoy the keyboard because it is comfortable to use and especially because they are backlit. It helps a lot when using at night. To log in to the computer, you can set up a regular type password or use the fingerprint scanner. The scanner is great at detecting your fingerprint; NO issues to sign in this method. It has a quick boot up times, just a few seconds. It is also quick to go from sleep to regular mode. The computer does NOT have a fan that makes noise. Battery life can’t complain. It is above average which lasts you enough time to finish any work or play long hours. To conclude, I could see myself using this portable 2-in-1 computer for everyday use. Portability, I love the fact that it is convertible and the design takes up very little space in my laptop bag which is excellent for my commuting. The performance is good enough for many tasks. The keyboard and mouse pad have a fast response and are very comfortable; backlit keyboard a plus for working at night. The screen is awesome with practically borderless with a bright and colorful image too. I definitely recommend this convertible computer.

Having a built in fingerprint sensor is a very neat feature and a cool way to log into windows. I have not figured out how to set up windows hello using the camera yet, I suspect its a feature that might be coming down the road for this device so will check back into that later. The stereo speakers are positioned on either side of the keyboard down toward the bottom, and they sound a little tinny for my taste, but pairing my bluetooth headphones sound great. I really don't mind the fact that usb type C is supported included as the only connection, and they have included a usb type C to Type A connector, but you can charge the laptop from either usb type C port. Battery life has been decent so far. My experience with it though hasn't been the best. I have put it in sleep mode and come back 8 hours later and the batter will have drained to nearly depleted from 80%. I am sure its a windows setting that is causing this. For now I am just shutting the device down when I leave it unattended for a long period. 16 Gigs of RAM is really great too, but the i7 is a rebadged version of the old M processor, decent, but not a powerhouse, and gaming on this is not really a possibility with the built in intel video card. All in all, there are many ups and downs, but mostly ups!

I am going to be blunt at straight to the point about this laptop. This is my first 2 in 1 laptop and I must say I am impressed for the functionality. Just like I figured, it isnt a powerhouse but it gets a lot done. The battery life is very surprisingly well. I am using this as my work laptop. On one charge, I was able to have the computer on standby for 3 days and been using it for data entry and photo editing for over 12 hours and it is currently at 38%. I wish my other laptop is that good! I enjoy how portable it is and how durable the design is. But it does come with a flaw... It is seriously a pain to open. Like other reviews, it does take 2 hands to open and it was an under-sight of dell. I work within a manufacturing setting and I could say that the laptop is also a fingerprint magnet (which is not a major issue for me). The tablet function is nice too. It is very strong and stable when folding it. The Solid State Drive is upgradable. It is quite easy to do so and you can easily go onto dell's website to download recovery disk. Overall, I do recommend this laptop, even though it has some flaws (but what doesnt).

I research every purchase extensively, particularly one with such a high price tag. The reviews on this machine are accurate. The XPS is consistently the best in its class. The screen is phenomenal and the battery lasts as long as the manufacturer claims, even when using bright settings. The hinges seem to be sturdy (a major selling point, since my previous $1300 HP laptop had to be replaced after 8 years because the hinges broke) and up to the 2-in-1 flipping motion. The touch screen works flawlessly, particularly with a stylus device (I use the Bamboo). I downsized from a 17" to this and still paid the same amount, so I was worried about watching movies or being able to see things as well. There was no reason to be. Read reviews from major tech publishers online, the XPS beats every competitor, even Microsoft's new and popular versions of Surface. It doesn't say it anywhere on the packaging, but know that it comes with an adapter for traditional USB conversion (there are no USB ports on the computer itself). Only purchase one if you feel you might want two, because the sales person will try to sell you one. I'm completely satisfied with this purchase, and Best Buy had the best price when I needed it.

I initially purchased a fully loaded HP Spectre x360 but experienced several hardware failures and when none of my local Best Buy's had a replacement I turned to the XPS 13. I had heard amazing things about the device but at nearly the same price point I was receiving a 1080p display versus 4K, half as much hard drive space and absolutely zero USB 3.0 ports. I was hesitant but incredibly happy I took a leap of faith. The machine is much better looking than the HP, and the fit and feel are top notch. Typing is an absolute pleasure, especially compared to the Spectre. Honestly, I couldn't tell the difference with the screen resolution and the tablet mode works very nicely, always responding appropriately to my gestures and typing on screen. My only real complaint or disappointment is the lack of full sized USB and HDMI port. It's a bit of a pain having to carry around a converter but I make do. If you are looking for a solid notebook/tablet combo, I would highly recommend taking a look at this sleek machine.

BACKGROUND INFO (skip down for review) In the middle of studying for final exams a little over a month ago, I spilled a cup of coffee on my MacBook Pro (2011) and had to find a replacement. I'm picky about certain things, and even the smallest of them can be a deal breaker with high-end machines. After seeing what the new MacBook Pro had under the hood, the asking price, and using the terrible keyboards they are equipped with I made the decision to shop for a good alternative. My first choice was the Yoga 910 ($1500 model with 4k, 512GB SSD, 16gb RAM). The laptop was beautiful but too quirky. The right shift key placement slowed my typing speed down considerably so I sent it back after only a couple of days. The fan was also quite loud on my model. The second laptop I decided to try out was Microsoft's Surfacebook (i5, 8gb RAM, 128GB SSD). The Surfacebook was by far my favorite laptop as far as build quality, hardware responsiveness, and overall usability go, After a few days, I felt that the included specs for the crazy high price couldn't be justified. After the Surfacebook, I splurged on the MSI GS63VR. This thing was an absolute monster. (6th gen core i7, 16gb ram, 128GB SSD, 1TB HDD, GTX 1060/6GB DDR5 dedicated graphics). It ran extremely well, was packed with everything you could possible want. It was surprisingly thing, and surprisingly light. It was a joy to use. The fatal flaw for me in this laptop was the battery life (about 3-4 hours of non intensive use/web browsing, about 1-2 hours when streaming video over wifi). Today I walked into my local best buy and saw this, there was only one other XPS13 2 in 1 available at a best buy in my entire state. I decided I'd give it a go. REVIEW/FIRST IMPRESSIONS (will update as needed). Build: This laptop is unbelievably beautiful. The build quality is superb. From the aluminum body, to the InfinityEdge display, everything screams luxury. When spending this much money, this is the type of build quality that is expected and props to Dell for not cutting corners. The build quality here can be directly compared to the Surfacebook and any MacBook. Aside from those two laptop models, there is nothing else that I have used that feels and looks this good. The trackpad is fast, responsive, and actually quite fun to use. It has no chop or lag, and registers commands quickly. The keys have the perfect amount of downward travel when pushed, and it is very comfortable to type on so far. There's no fan on this thing, it runs completely silent, and so far I have not noticed any kind of temperature increase. Bloatware: Surprisingly minimal bloatware. Super quick boot up. Power off to desktop about 7 seconds (fingerprint scanner to sign in) Speakers: Surprisingly loud and clear. Out of all of the laptops that I tried out, the speakers on this guy were easily the best. Ports: Lacking in ports. Upset with the lack of USB 3.0 ports (2 USB Type-C ports are included). Loss of 1 star because: This is still a day one review that will be updated as I am able to better test the laptop, there is one thing that I think Dell and BestBuy need to clarify to customers. I knew this before purchasing the laptop, but many people will not. The XPS13 and XPS13 2 in 1 do not come with the same series of Intel processors. The Intel Core i7 that is included with the 2-in-1 is actually the i7-7Y75 processor. These are basically the intel Core m series processors renamed to throw off consumers. They were designed and built for mobile devices. In comparison the Intel Core i7-7500U mobile processor is the one that you would think you got just by looking at the i7 sticker included on the laptop. the core i7- 7Y75 has a base frequency of 1.3ghz that is overclockable to over 3.3 ghz. Dell apparently has a technology in this 2-in-1 that will overclock the processor in short bursts when necessary to give more computing power. However, the base frequency is quite low. I'll edit this review with an update when I get a better idea of how well this works. I just feel like there's some misleading going on with the renaming. The "Intel Core i7" in the xps13 2 in 1 has a lower base frequency than a Core i3 or Core i5 of the U series. If Dell has actually found a way to optimize the system to work with the hardware like Apple has in the Mac, this won't be a problem. I just don't know if I trust Dell enough to nail it on the first go. So far, I'm enjoying this laptop after one day of use, I will update it as a I go. The reason I deducted one star is because of the processor that's included in here, and how it can be misleading.

I got the laptop for school work. Been using it since September and am very happy with the speed and light weight. The size is perfect to have the laptop fit in my mid size backpack style purse that came with padding.

I purchased this computer, and did not end up keeping it. The overall experience was good, and graphics and video are smooth and clear. Scrolling on screen is very smooth, unlike the jerky Lenovo Yoga 910. The Wacom pen support was fantastic, and the best pen experience I've had. The position of the webcam under the screen is horrible. The fingerprint reader is excellent. An old style USB port would be nice. It's great to be able to charge this from any compatible USB C charger. The speakers were loud, but very compressed sounding, and harsh. The speakers on the HP Spectre x360 are amazing, and nothing else I've found compares. For the price, the hard drive is about half the size I think it should be. The keyboard is good, and so is the trackpad. The Y series processor is nice for light work, and the lack of a fan is nice, but it will slow down a lot under heavy usage, when the system throttles itself to keep temps down. I ended up keeping the HP Spectre x360 and installing an external fingerprint reader, as that is the only thing the HP lacks, after testing this, the Lenovo 720, and the Lenovo 910.

I love tech, and had a hard time paying the price for this- worth every cent. I've never had any issues with speed, and I usually have several tabs open that include music playing, word or excel documents, and 3 or 4 web pages- doesn't slow down a bit. One more thing, battery life is fantastic. I've had laptops that swear their battery life is this or that- and fall short every time. This one delivers. The charging cord is not as bulky as most, so bringing it along isn't a pain.

The Good and awesome part -Light weight, I mean its light you can easily forget that you are carrying it -Quick boot up which is awesome! -Touch is great and precise, its like i have a third mouse - Graphics are good i am pleasantly surprised - The multiple fold positions are very convenient - Battery life is good too! The bad end of it - I don't know if I should put this on Dell or Intel. Actually I will put it on both since they probably are in cahoots. This laptop like many other tablet-esq PCs out there comes with the old Intel m7 for tablets. Intel saw it fit to confuse us on this by naming all their processor lines iX (i3, i5, i7 etc). They have included the m-series in this new naming convention even though performance for the same iX, mX generations is drastically different. Basically the gist is this, the XPS 13 2 in 1 does not have the true core traditional i7 as we know it even though the sticker say Core i7 on the machine itself. Whats inside is the m7 which is much less powerful that the real i7. So if you are looking for a v12 of a computer, run for the hills because this is not it. I run 3 word docs and a browser with several tabs open and I start to get a noticeable performance decrease. Worst part of it is, you cannot upgrade the processor. For future reference, if you would like to see what kind of processor you are buying on any PC, you have have to check the serial number of the processor (you have to find the SKU for the processor in the Specifications section of the XPS13's product listing) and search it on Intel's list of processors....Yeah I was not happy about that Intel and Dell if you are reading this. -The keyboard is a bit small for my large fingers, this may work for others with smaller fingers -Bluetooth is a bit shifty, the mouse will switch off randomly and you will have to reboot the computer several times to get it to work again. I finally identified the problem as this; Windows is not realizing there are new driver updates from Dell for some reason. You have to manually check for new drivers yourself. This seems to have fixed the problem for now. Overall Rating If it was not for Intel's processor con-like job, I would have happily given this product 4 stars. So it can be 4 stars for you if you do not care much for the performance. But because I do, its 3 stars....heck I would have given this 2.5 if Best Buy let me.

ForcedtoReview4Points - Thanks for your review. We're glad to read about all of the positive things you had to say about your new Dell laptop. As you've seen this laptop is really designed for mobility and the flexibility of use with its 2-in-1 design. This 2-in-1 also offers Dynamic Power Mode from Dell which delivers extra processing power in short bursts when you need it, squeezing every drop of power out of the CPU, while intelligently monitoring and managing system temperatures. Pushing the processor to up to 9W, delivers up to 10% more performance than the previous generation XPS 1.
If you are still experiencing issues with updates for your computer we'd recommend running Dell's Support Assist app. This app will ensure that all of the latest drivers and software are installed on your 2-in-1. Thanks again and we wish you all the best! - Bryan Dell

I wanted to buy something portable with Windows. This was lightweight, good size to screen ratio and Windows ink compatible. So I happily bought it. After using it for few weeks, I realized that it goes hot( there is no fan), the i7 processor is it as powerful, the auto battery power optimization drives you crazy and I could have done more paying a lot less with buying the competition. So I have sold it and bought myself something with 8th gen cpu. But if you have light work then It will work great but buy it only if you have to have Windows.

Abhi - We're sorry to hear that you had issues with your XPS laptop overheating. We'd recommend the following tips if you experience this same issue in the future:
      Tips for Proper Usage:
      1. Dell does not recommend placing portable systems directly on your lap. Due to reductions in the thickness of modern portable systems, heat transfer can be an issue.
      2. Using a portable system (Laptop) on a hard, flat, non-cloth surface will increase airflow and reduce heat from underneath and inside the system.
Using the portable system on blanket, pillow, or other type of cloth will cover up the fan cause the computer to overheat and can cause permanent damage.
      3. It is recommended to use the portable system in a Room temperature of 0°C to 35°C (32°F to 95°F) with a Humidity level no greater than 90%.
      4. Use compressed air to clean the vents on a regular basis.
      5. Using a cooling pad can decrease heat and increase performance.
      6. If you want to know the temperature limitations for your system, go to the Dell Support Website, look up your system model then open the user guide under the manuals link.

I bought a Dell XPS for myself and my daughter liked it so much, I bought one for her. Love the edge to edge screen. It appears to be larger then it is. Love the laptop to tablet feature. Light weight enough to carry in my handbag.

I ended up with the Spectre 360. For less money you get a better processor and 512gb SSD. I also feel everything is works very smoothly in the HP after updating all of the drivers etc. Other key points: NO single click brightness or volume on the keyboard, requiring you to press the fn key for these actions. No standard USB. No volume key "rocker" on side of machine to use when in tent/tablet mode. Also, for universal USB charging. The only new USB-C pc I have found to charge using a standard phone/universal charger is the Spectre, although it only charges when off or in sleep mode and slowly, but that is better than nothing if you are in desperate need!
