I already own a Dell XPS 8100 media center this is a way cooler upgrade twice the ram and new generation i core 7 processor and can handle Oculus Rift if I decide to go with it on the near future and I am sure it can handle any VR software that come out eventually, I am an avid user of Photoshop CS5 and Adobe Aftereffects, my 8100 was fine, but this PC is way better.

Powerful PC with Ability to Upgrade

This PC more than exceeds my needs. I do not consider myself a hardcore gamer, but the games I do play run very smoothly on this PC as configured. (If you ARE a hardcore gamer, chances are you would not be considering the configuration of this tower). Currently, the installed NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti is more than enough for me. It would be easy to upgrade the graphics card in the future. The case is designed to fit a full-size graphics card and the stock power supply has dedicated power cables for graphics cards that require an external power connection. The power supply is a standard ATX power supply so it too should not be difficult to upgrade if needed. Also, the installed 16GB of RAM and 1TB hard drive is plenty for me at this point. The maximum RAM this motherboard can support is 64GB. I have noticed some reviews complaining about the hard drive load times being slow because it is not a solid state drive. I do not feel it is slow (for me, at least). It would not be difficult to install an SSD in the 2nd hard drive cage. Also, the motherboard in this PC has an M.2 socket which would accept an M.2 SSD. One important point to note is that the fan on the stock power supply does not run unless it needs to which was a cause for alarm for me before I realized this. Other fans such as the CPU fan will speed up as needed. The result is a very quiet machine when idle and performing light tasks such as word processing and web browsing. When gaming and performing resource-intensive tasks the fans can be heard but it is not annoying or distracting. All in all, this PC has plenty of horsepower for me currently and appears to be relatively easy to upgrade in the future as needed.

After my Dell Laptop bit the dust after 5 years, I was in need of a new PC. Since my needs had changed and I no longer required a Laptop I decided to get a better bang for the buck and get a desktop. This DELL computer was reasonably priced at Best Buy. It had most of the components I was looking for 1. i7 Intel Processor 2. Dedicated Video Card (Not a gamer so what they had was fine) 3. 16 GB of RAM 4. Card Reader 5. USB 3.0 with one 3.1 slot 6. SD Card Reader (my XPS 8700 had more options here) What it didn’t have was an SSD drive, which makes a HUGE difference. Good: Setup was easy Quite Fast Easy case access BAD No SSD drive McAfee – LET ME PUT WHAT I WANT ON, without having to uninstall this. I did after I got everything loaded, clone the HDD and replace it with a Samsung 850 PRO 1TB drive. Boot time went from 27 seconds to 3 seconds, and my apps are much faster. All in all, this is a blazing fast PC, with decent graphics for what I use it for. I am happy with this PC and would recommend it to others using it in a work environment with a little entertainment on the side. Use: Work environment

If anyone is like me, chances are you are if you're reading this, I use reviews as a starting point for my purchases. I will try to answer as many questions as I can in this review as I am a picky buyer. I have been in need of a powerful desktop for quite some time. I did a lot of searching and comparing over the course of a couple of months. This desktop has it all. It's the closest thing you can by (for cheap I might add) to a gaming rig if you don't need a machine for gaming. This is not top of the line but the 6th gen i7 and the extremely expandable RAM make this an excellent purchase to grow with you over the years. On the subject of expandability, this tower has three (3) drive bays for storage, it's expandable up to 64 GB of RAM (4 slots) and has a dedicated graphics card (also upgradable). The three drive bays are one size fits all. You can mount up to 3 SSD SATA drives or standard drives into the bays. The holes for both are pre-drilled and as long as you buy mounting screws (no mount required) and a couple of extra SATA cables, you can fill them as you would like. I personally use the drive that comes with the computer as a redundant backup and installed two SSD drives to run my OS (Windows and Linux) and applications. The graphics card can support up to three monitors (2 DVI ports and 1 HDMI where Dell supplies the adapter). There is also the option for HDMI or DisplayPort from the Intel graphics processor. The best feature of this machine is that it's extremely accessible. When you open it up, the power supply swings out to make getting inside to the drive bays, graphics card, and motherboard easier. No tools required until you want to remove something. Overall, this is a perfect desktop for the person that needs power and wants a computer that has the option to grow with them.

I purchased this on Cyber Monday for 799.99 and it's exactly what I needed. I don't game on PC but I wanted something that could handle photo editing and video editing. I'm also a Software Engineering student and it's doing fine thus far probably more than what I needed even. The case design is pretty cool. You don't need any tools to get the case opened and the power unit swings out for easy access if you choose to upgrade in the future. The only thing I would do right now is install some type of SSD drive so it can boot Windows faster along with other files. Overall, at 799.99 I could not pass it up!

Great speed, plenty of memory and gaming graphics are really, really good! I bought two of these...one for a 12 year old and one for a 21 year old and they both love it. Easy set-up and no problems pairing with the separately purchased monitor and gaming keyboard.

I needed a desktop for working at home especially with Microsoft Excel and Word, but will not be obsolete a year from now. With an i7 quad core processor, 16 GB of RAM, 2 GB dedicated video memory, it’s way more than needed for the applications. It’s much faster to load than my 5 year old HP dv-7 i7 laptop.

I really didn't know much about this Dell desktop initially until I check some reviews and talked to some people in the store. Besides being a very good price it came with everything I needed. I use to build my own computers but gave that up since it normally costs me more money than buying a good quality Dell computer on sale. Also this computer was very easy to setup and start using. Very quiet and fast. I've been very happy with Dell and prefer to stay with a U.S. manufacturer that offers quality products.

This product replaced a thirteen year-old computer, and the difference in performance is amazing. The computer boots up very quickly, and is quiet to the point of being virtually silent. The speed and capacity for work are most impressive, and there has not been a glitch in any area. I am still learning the ins and outs of Windows 10, but it has been easier to adjust to the new OS than I had been led to believe. An excellent unit overall.

As a Graphic Designer, I needed power, and speed and this computer has it all. I immediately took the computer to 64Gb of ram, (outstanding), and added a 500Gb SSD drive. I do not play games, but I needed some of the same types of features, you just cannot go wrong with this 8910. Perfect...

Purchased this computer as my old computer crashed. Needed something that could handle photo editing and running Photoshop and Lightroom. This computer had all the specs I was looking for and did not disappoint. It was very easy to set up, very intuitive. it is so quiet that you barely know it is turned on. It handles my photography editing software and multitasking with ease. Very fast!! Very pleased with my purchase.

My home system crashed beyond repair. I needed a computer fast and I have had great success with the Dell brand many times in the past. Rather than ordering a new desktop online from Dell I thought that I would check out which Dell systems were available in store at the local Best Buy. Core i7, 16 GB memory and Nvidia card were all requirements. I was happy to find that this particular configuration was available and surprised to learn that purchasing it at Best Buy was significantly less than ordering the same one from Dell directly, which was made better still by the fact that I opened a Best Buy credit card and receive an additional 10% back in rewards. I happily put this to use on a follow-up purchase.

I read many reviews before I purchased the Dell XPS tower. All the positives were true, while some of the negatives were not. On the power switch issue. There is a nano second delay for the light to come on in the switch when you turn the PC on. I think that may have led some users to think that the on/off switch wasn't working properly. On the noise issue, while I have not used the PC for gaming, the XPS runs silent. You can easily determine that in the store. Perhaps when it is pushed for intense gaming the fan(s) come on and may have been considered noisy by some users. You do have to be careful with the DVD drive as it is delicate (okay flimsy) as in all other new PCs. All in all, while a bit on the expensive side, the XPS is great. Easy to update and expand. Should stay modern for several years. While it is a million times faster than my 13 year old HP desktop it replaced, it is also at least 10 times faster than my 2 year old laptop. I have owned Dell computers over the years and can't really remember anything bad about them.

Runs great but the more you save on it the slower it gets. This computer will process 4k video programs whiuch is great. It has a great video card. Only complaint is it need more memory but you can manage with an external hard drive which you will need one if you plan to use the computer for 4k video because those files are massive and take up a lot of space

My last desktop was an earlier version of this Dell. This one is 10 times better -- faster, very quiet, and powerful. Besides doing all the usual tasks, I use it for photo and video editing and it works a breeze.
