My wife and I love this machine. The coffee this machine makes has a flavor that is rich and fresh. It is so easy to use that we will probably get rid of our old one-cup coffee maker completely. Once you set it up, it is very easy and fast to make a variety of great drinks. My favorite is the iced coffee - we made one each just to test it and it was so good that I asked for another before I had finished the first one! Pros - Nice design. Looks great as the centerpiece of my coffee bar and it is does not take up much space. - Iced coffee button makes it easy to replicate coffee shop drinks at home. - Easy to clean. I love the fact that it automatically cleans its internals upon being shut off and has easy access to remove and clean the internals/components. You also have the option to rinse the internals between cups if needed. - Automatically empties the used grounds into a hopper - it is ready to make another cup right away. - Time for warming up, grinding and preparing drinks is fast. - Includes a water filter and a water hardness test kit to set descaling interval. - Water tank makes it easy to see water level and fill. - Allows you to program temperature. - Coffee button can be programmed with your preferred strength and the size of your coffee cup. - Built-in frother will have you thinking you are a barista. Things to Consider - There is definitely a learning curve. I recommend skipping the quick start guide and reading the full manual to understand how the settings work. I found the quick start guide was too vague - I was following along, but not really understanding the purpose of the steps. I did find some useful videos online to help. - One important note missing from the quick start guide is to avoid green, oily, flavored, caramelized or candied coffee beans that may stick in the grinder. This is important because many beans you can buy at the store are flavor infused using oils, but you do have the option to brew using pre-ground coffee if you want to use flavored. - Brewing coffee using grounds still has the advantages of quick warm up and easy clean up, but you do have to wait to add the grounds when indicated - so making multiple cups or large cups requires waiting by the machine. - The machine is not loud (I was surprised at how quiet it is during grinding), but it does make some noise and may be a bit bothersome if the household is quiet. - While programming your preferences is convenient for a quick cup. I wish some options like temperature and cup size were selectable as one-off options. - Even the lowest brew strength was on par with the strong setting on my traditional coffee maker.

Great shots of expresso fast and easy

We bought it for the straight expresso shots and also in afternoon add condensed milk and pour over ice for the Vietnamese coffee. This cranks out great strong expresso shots with a variety of different beans much better than the Nespresso we had been using. My hesitation was if this was going to be perceptively better to justify the cost and do away with the pods. It definitely is although I found out what I thought was a single expresso is actually a double expresso to fill our expresso shot glass.

As I write this review I’m sipping on a hot long espresso brew that was made from fresh ground beans in less then 2 minutes in this fully automatic DeLonghi coffee maker, and it’s absolutely wonderful. DeLonghi has almost a 50 year history in coffee makers, and their high end units frequently adorn the counters of coffee shops around the world. This fully automated unit has brought all that experience in extracting flavor from coffee beans and put it on my kitchen counter and I couldn’t be happier. This machine delivers rich, smooth, creamy espresso (regular and long) and drip style coffee quickly and reliably. Just fill the top with your favorite beans, fill the water tank, and push brew. Pros: - Produces outstanding, creamy espresso. - Fast heating (DeLonghi claims 40 seconds but in my experience it’s even faster) - Adjusts to different levels of water hardness and includes an optional in-tank filter that you can use if needed. - Can make either espresso or regular coffee - Highly adjustable, including strength, volume, and temperature. Each mode can be set separately. - The built-in grinder does a superb job of finely grinding the beans and is fully adjustable. - Can also accept pre-ground coffee - Easy to clean - Brews excellent ice coffee which is smooth and not watered down - Fully programmable for strength and volume - Includes milk heater / frother Cons: - Although compact for what it is, it is larger than a regular coffee maker. You may want to check counter space in advance. - Is by its nature a little louder than a regular coffee brewer, so keep this in mind for those early morning coffees. - Milk frother works OK, but could be better. Notes from my experience: DeLonghi says you’ll need to brew several cups before the grinder is producing satisfactory results and I concur with this experience. Don’t give up if the first 2-3 cups are not as you’d hoped! I also found that the default setting was a little too coarse. I recommend a setting of either 3 or 4 if you enjoy a creamier espresso. That said, part of the beauty of this machine is that it can produce a wide range of results to suit your individual tastes. This can be a pro and a con as the machine may need some tuning before you get exactly what you want, but it is highly capable and the results are worth the effort. Once you have it dialed in, no further tinkering is needed as all settings are remembered. It’s worth noting that the grinder really produces great results. I’ve attached some pictures of the “pucks” ejected from the machine, and as you can see they are very dense. This density of the ground combined with the high pressure pump and proper infuser all contribute to a great cup of coffee. The standard coffee setting produces very different results vs. the two espresso settings. If you want a larger cup, I suggest trying the long espresso setting and, if needed, programming it for a little more volume. Programming is very simple and, once done, your settings become the default each time the unit is turned on. I don’t drink a lot of iced coffee, but I did try this setting and the machine did a great job brewing coffee over ice. The result was smooth and not at all watered down. Unlike pod-based machines, these do require some periodic cleaning, but DeLonghi has made this very easy with some thoughtful design elements. The machine actually rinses itself each time you turn it on and rinses out any residual coffee when turned off again. Cleaning the internal water circuit can also be triggered manually from the control panel. In any event, the large capacity drip try catches the rinse water each time so you don’t even need a separate container. The milk frother easily detaches for rinsing, which takes just a few seconds. The most intensive cleaning process is the monthly cleaning of the infuser, but even this is easy. Just open the door on the side, remove the infuser, soak in water for 5 minutes, and replace it. Good design makes for a low hassle experience. Conclusion If you’re looking for a high end espresso maker that makes outstanding coffee, is versatile, easy to use, and easy to clean and live with, this one has you covered. I’m very happy with mine.

    Brew your Coffee in Excellence

Background: I love coffee from home, Starbucks, and from coffee shops. At home I have been using Nespresso for years. I currently have a De'Longhi Nespresso machine and I have owned a few of them. I already knew De'Longhi is a top brand for coffee. I make all sorts of different beverages including cappuccinos, americanos, espressos, risttretto, iced coffees, you name it. I also have my own coffee bar with 6 pumps of flavors and everything that one would need. Packaging: The machine was packed very well and it was super easy to get the machine out. The box is big because the machine is big and to also add that extra cushion to get your machine to your door. Typically packages like this require two people to get an item out but I did it myself no problem. Appearance/Style: The Dinamica looks awesome. It looks like it should behind a coffee shops counter yet it is sitting in my home. The machine looks big and powerful and that's because it is. My favorite part is that the water tank is actually apart of the machine. It slides in on the right hand side and blends in perfectly. The chrome and black looks great, professional and should pair well with most homes kitchen décor. The dual spot where the coffee comes out also looks so cool and makes me feel like a true barista. Ease of use: If you want to use this machine you are going to have to read the entire manual. I have read it three times and I still go back to it to learn how to change a setting or use a feature. Make sure you keep the manual on hand. I also recommend reading the full manual prior to reading the quick guide. Operation: As I stated in the prior paragraph I recommend reading the complete manual first and refer to it when needed. Once I used it about 10 times I was ready to go without it. After turning on the machine (black button on top) the system immediately starts to preheat and pours a little bit of water out of the double spout. The water allows to not only help get things heated but also clean the system. You will also hear the bean system inside move around and it will do this every time to make sure everything is cleared out. Prior to brewing I typically heat up my cup to achieve a hotter coffee. I hit the bottom right button to pour hot water to warm my cup (hit the button again for it to stop). I pour the water out of my warm cup and then start brewing. First you need to put beans in the hopper up top or preground coffee through the little door on top (measuring cup included). If you choose to put in preground coffee (I recommend you don't) you MUST select the right setting. Prior to adding any grounds you have to push the double bean button until you see a measuring cup symbol illuminate. ONLY THEN can you put a measured cup of preground coffee into the little door which goes directly into where it will be brewed from. Not following this could ruin your machine also don't put any beans down that little door, only in the big hopper up top. Water must also be added to the water tank which is equipped with its own onboard filter. Brewing a cup is easy just select what you want, espresso, cappuccino, over ice, or an americano then select how strong you want your coffee using the button with beans on it (you can switch this process up strength first then select type). You can also adjust the spouts up and down to get them closer to your cups like espresso cups. This helps to keep your coffee hotter and prevent splatter (genius idea). Once you start brewing the machine will take the exact amount of beans it needs from the hopper, grind them (at your selected fine), and auto packs them down into a circular shape for the machine to pour water over. If you select the americano button the machine will automatically grind beans and brew 2 times to achieve great taste. While it does take more time and it brews slowly during this method it is well worth it. Click the x2 button will allow you to brew double shots or double cappuccinos into one cup OR you can brew two cups at the same time by putting a cup under each of one of the two spouts available. Really cool feature and it is great to save time while entertaining. Frother: The frother is amazing and very easy to use. After brewing your coffee, add milk to a separate cup. Put the cup under the frothing nozzle and click the steam button on the screen. Next you want to turn the physical dial above the nozzle to activate the steam. It will instantly begin and you will have high quality frothed milk in the matter of seconds. If you turn the dial above the frother on without hitting the steam button it will constantly eject super hot water until you turn it off. Power off/quick clean up: First step is only if you used the frother. To clean this I typically wipe it down and run 2 secs of hot water through (turning the dial above it on). After that I power the machine down by hitting the power button up top, it will again eject any grounds, and the system will begin pouring hot water through the spots to clean the system. That's it and your done. If you don't froth any milk the system is super easy. Full clean: Coffee grounds are ejected in a large cup that slides out with the bottom tray. The bottom tray also hold a ton of water. You need to read the manual there is multiple steps for cleaning this machine after a month of use to make sure you keep getting that high quality coffee. Final thoughts: I really have no complaints this is the best machine I ever had and produces the best coffee I ever had. I am drinking so much coffee now its not even funny. I even sneak one in late at night now. Any machine like this will have steps to make coffee and clean up which is what you will have to do to have the best cup of your life.

Fast, attractive, easy to use Espresso Machine

This espresso machine sits above the competition and it is a joy to use for that fresh, bean to cup coffee. The machine comes well packaged with easy to use instructions and minimal assembly. One thing I like is that this machine seems to use less beans and grinds them much faster than other machines I have used. It is also significantly quieter, although certainly not silent. The power on warming and water priming cycle is also much faster than other machines and is also quieter. However there is one minor annoyance to the start up cycle. As is normal water is forced through the spouts at power on. Unfortunately this water often misses the holes in the drip tray, even with the spout pushed all the way down, closest to the drip tray. The machine was on a level countertop. This machine makes great coffee. You can select the brew strength and temperature to your liking. The frother works well and is similar to other consumer espresso machines. Clean up is a snap and the parts to clean are dishwasher safe. I also like that the internal moving parts do not need to be greased as with other machines. I highly recommend this espresso machine.

I love a good cup of brewed coffee and with this fully automated Coffee and Espresso Machine, I have a variety of options to choose from. There are so many features to love about this machine. First and foremost, it is designed and made extremely well. This makes cleaning and, subsequently, the longevity of the product A1A in all Classes. The materials that make the product are selected and sculptured to add in easy cleanup as much as they are to add beauty to the product. The drip tray and grill are even dishwasher safe! The design is thought out thoroughly and carefully engineered to add beauty, but also to provide an attractive product and small footprint on the counter that makes terrific, brewed variations of coffee. Everything needed to make lattes, iced coffee, ground coffee, cappuccinos, espressos, etc. is contained within that footprint with no additional pieces or add-ons needed. The footprint of this product on the counter is the smallest that I have seen for a very nice Espresso Machine. The heat up time is 40 seconds, and with this product the DeLonghi trademark incorporates their TrueBrew over ice technology just in case you love iced coffee or think you might want to try it. The machine uses fresh ground beans and holds up to 10.5 ounces of beans. Pre-ground coffee can also be used in the 10.5 once coffee container. The touch control panel is back lite and has four-touch buttons for different coffee – based drinks. The machine is also equipped with an energy saving function. The milk frother adjust easily and works great. Hot chocolate can be steamed as well as milks for various drinks. The brewing unit, water tank, drip tray are all easily removable for cleaning. It is so easy to clean this machine compared to other good espresso machines on the market. Everything is basically accessible from the front of the unit. The cord is adequate and works well for me – it’s not too short and not too long. In order to get the most from this Espresso Coffee Maker, it is best to familiarize yourself with all of the features before use. Take a few minutes to read the Quick Start Guide and the Instruction Booklet. Test your water for hardness and use the included water filter if needed. It also comes with a small package of coffee beans so that you can even practice a couple of times with the adjustment on the bean grinder to determine the consistency of grind that works best for you and your taste. If you do these simple things that are all outlined in the Quick Start Guide and Instruction Booklet, you will have the knowledge to create all types of coffee drinks. I definitely recommend this product if you are looking for a good Italian Espresso Machine. This has all of the features you possibly need and all of the added clean up conveniences that you will want. I Love It!

I drink quite a lot of coffee, and until this point, it was coming from a pod or a pot. With this automatic coffee machine, I can't go back to either now as the coffee doesn't taste as good even though it's coming from the same beans. While this may not have all the fancy extras of higher-end models, to me it's just right and gets the job done. Initial setup and then learning to use it does take a little time, and you really do need to read the manual to get everything out of it. I usually ignore the manual and figure it out, but I found myself needing to go through it to make sure settings are to my liking. Once you set things up and learn the different types of coffee, this is a great machine to use. On the design side, the size is slightly larger than a machine for just brewing coffee into a pot, and about the same size of some of the pod ones I've used. The water is smartly placed on the side, so you can slide it out and fill it and not have to look for it in the back. You can also either have it grind the beans for you, or there is a spot to put your own which helps when I brew decaf. The startup and getting hot is also super fast, so you're not sitting around waiting to start making coffee. There are a few things that you miss from higher-end models, like the ability to add milk directly (there is a milk frother, but it's manual) and you don't have much control over the coffee itself. My biggest challenge was the size of the coffee and learning which option makes the biggest coffee for when I'm heading out. Overall I'm very happy with this and I've not gotten rid of my coffee pot machine and will never go back. If you're looking for an automatic coffee machine at a decent price, I highly recommend this.

As someone who would consider themselves somewhat of a coffee snob, I would say I am pretty impressed with the machine. Setting the machine is pretty simple. Pretty much everything you need to start making espresso is. in the box. They even include a set of starter De'Longhi beans. My one complaint is that they do not include a jug for frothing milk. I ended up having to run to the store to get one for a few extra dollars. I would recommend using the water testing strip before beginning, to check the water hardness level. If the test find that your water hardness level is higher than the first bar, they recommend using the included water filter. Since I am using filtered water from my refrigerator, I did not need to use it. I noticed that you really need to run a few brews through the system to get it going and I would recommend just dumping one or two espressos before trying it out. While the machine has a few buttons and is pretty simple to use, I would recommend watching a video online on the operation, to get a hang of it. Since I am not a big iced coffee person, I haven't tried that feature out. However, I would say I am very happy with the taste of the coffee that comes out of the unit. As someone who previously used a pod based espresso maker, I find this is a huge improvement. I really like being able to use my own coffee that I know is freshly ground.

The De'Longhi - Dinamica TrueBrew Over Ice Fully Automatic Coffee and Espresso Machine, has a lot going for it. It looks modern and contemporary on any countertop. Setup is real easy. Pretty much plug and play. I always wash the water container first. I either use filtered water or bottles water and don’t require using the included filter. Starter bag of beans are included for you to test learn your skills. Let’s start off with things I didn’t like first, so that we can forget about them later. It does waste a little water on startup/warmup. The water doesn’t drip directly into the holes on the dip tray so it does make a little mess. I recommend placing a cup underneath the dispenser before starting up the De'Longhi - Dinamica TrueBrew Over Ice Fully Automatic Coffee and Espresso Machine. Problem solved. It is a little loud, if your not used to espresso machines, but it’s not like we’re in the movie A Quiet Place. This next one is kind of nit picky, once in place, it stays put. It’s a solid machine. Therefor it doesn’t slide around easy. You might want to pull it forward to put in more beans. It’s a super automatic, so it’s practical dummy proof. It has super fast warmup of about 40 seconds! Just add beans (or pre ground, one level spoon only.) and water. Choose your desired drink of choice with a touch touch of an icon via the touchscreen panel. Voila it makes it for you, make sure you have a cup of sorts underneath. I do find myself drinking more Vietnamese Iced Coffee since it’s so quick and easy to make. It has an auto off feature, that can be set for 15 mins up to 3hrs. Lines are purged at start up and shut down. It has your standard frother and steamer which doubles as a hot water dispenser when you want a hot tea or add more water to your your Americano. Drop tray slides out for draining and cleaning. The spent coffee pucks can be dumped or saved for your garden. Water tank can be accessed from the front it just slides forward and is easy to fill. The group head can be removed for cleaning once the water tank is removed. Just a quick rinse is about all is needed. So basically it’s your own all in one Barista at home. Make your friends and family envious that you have such a cool espresso machine.

My house loves espressos/coffee and before we had a single serve machine. And it was a pain to have to clean the ground pucks of espresso after every cup. This unit is a game changer. It makes great tasting espressos fast and easy at a push of a button. You do have to empty the pucks of espresso about every 10 cups or so. But even that is easier than what we were doing before. It did take some trial and error to find our perfect cup of joe. There are lots of different combinations you can do. We loved the beans that came with it but when they ran out we tried a new brand and didn’t like them at all. And I found by taking out two easy to get to screws in the bean hopper it was fairly easy to remove all the beans by hand. When you turn it on it warms up the water fast but it dose dispense some cold water. This is a little annoying making the bottom of your cup wet every time. Other than that we are super excited with this unit. The build quality/looks feels high end. And it fits in well at our coffee bar.

De’Longhi always makes great legendary technology for the kitchen. Dinamica TrueBrew new espresso maker. This is the cream of the crop and it’s truly like owning a barista again. So far I’ve been enjoying the Dinamica TrueBrew and its capabilities. As before Everything can be done with a touch of a button that’s super easy and super simple to use. The design looks great and this model fits in with the rest of my appliances with a silver and black tone. My family have been enjoying coffee for about a week with this machine and definitely have no complaints. Even got some of them to stop going to the coffee shops daily. They are also guides to help you learn how to make better espresso‘s online. Setting it up is easy but the Dinamica is massive in size as usual. Once that is out of the way everything else is pretty much self-explanatory with backlit touch-sensitive buttons. I mostly make Macchiatos with the creamy foam or hot milk lattes for myself and became used to making them thanks to my last Dinamica unit. The newest feature here is “TrueBrew Over Ice” which basically allows you to make perfect iced coffee each and every single time. Water down coffee would never be a problem with ice. It was pretty easy to set up. I’m still playing around with it and deciding which way I like my coffee best. Things you should know is not to buy any coffee beans that are sticky. They mention it in the user guide. I’ve never used a steam frother before so I’m still working in that. My coffee tastes smooth and it doesn’t take a long time for my coffee to be made. Don’t forget to buy your own steam cup and espresso glasses. Over all I’m enjoying my machine. I would also say it’s important for you to read the directions. There is a little bit of a learning curve for new people to this type of coffee machine. Once you know it’s smooth sailing.

Ditched the pod life but kept the single cup flex

We wanted to move away from the pod life, but keep the single cup flexibility. This review is based on the first week. It makes a good cup of coffee each morning, but now I can throw in couple shots of espresso before I head to work. On the weekend my spouse and I treated ourselves to a great tasting cappuccino with little effort. If I could change one thing on a future version, it would be a selector for coffee cup size. Otherwise, the machine is exactly what we were looking for. Pros Easy to clean Lots of drink choices Flexible Cons Limited to Light or Medium roasted coffee
