i really love the automatization, excellent coffee, easy to use, easy to maintain, even so for this machine some of the material used to build it are not a great quality. 3 weeks in and the starling steel tray that go under the cup is already all scratch, considering that im using ceramic cup , and this supposed to be steel. is a little be questionable. beside that is excellent.

I love this coffee machine. We used to own a Nespresso De'Longhi machine with a removeable milk container, but we wanted to get away from Nespresso capsules, which are expensive compared to coffee beans. It has been a great machine.

    Better than Starbucks!

I’ve only had the machine for a couple of days, and I truly enjoy the difference of a good cappuccino or expresso versus the crappy watery coffee you get on a Keurig. The machine only takes a few minutes to put together, and I just love the automatic functions. We have a Nespresso, a Keurig, a regular coffee maker, a coffee press, frother, etc. This machine combines all of those into one, I can use whatever type of beans I want, don’t have to keep spending a ton of cash on the Nespresso pods, and have access to an outstanding cup of coffee without heating, frothing, grinding beans, or any of the other stuff that goes into making a great cup of joe. There are a couple of quirks I had to learn, such as putting an empty mug underneath the nozzles to catch the water when it cleanses itself (before every cup), and how to clean the milk nozzle. Other than that, it’s very simple to operate and clean, and I would recommend it to a friend hands down!

I have owned couple of Saeco machines and both broke down eventually. I decided to try a different brand. Since there a sale at BB I bought the DeLonghi. It makes very strong coffee and the espresso frothens milk very well. For the price point I would expect a hands free operation but that is not the case. The coffee beans have to be constantly pushed down the grinder upon hitting the Brew button, I would have expected the beans to go down the chute by itself. Per the manual all this is supposed to work automatically but it doesnt, I just hate having to do this every day. For such an expensive espresso machine this manual step is just unacceptable. Hence a 3* and I will never buy this product or recommend it to anyone.

    Side Note on Product Discription

Just noticed that the description of this machine states "DeLonghi Magnifica S Coffeemaker: Whether you prefer a steaming cup of ristretto, espresso, low-pressure coffee or cappuccino or a frothy latté, it's easy to use your favorite pods or ground coffee to create a morning pick-me-up. Thermoblock technology ensures optimal heating." This is a super automatic machine and does not have a removable portafilter to tamp espresso or place premeasured "pods" of espresso into the portafilter. It appears as though the description from the smaller, Delonghi DeLonghi EC702 may have been accidently placed into this product description. Regardless this is an excellent machine. We purchased it's sister version without the integral milk frother, the Delonghi ECAM23210B Magnifica S.

I loved this machine in the beginning but after a couple of weeks the coffe began to taste watery. Not sure if I gave it enough of a chance but being that it was so expensive I felt it should be excellent coffee at all times. I don’t want to say it isn’t worth it because there is always a chance the machine I had was defective or maybe there even was a fix for it. To be honest I felt for that kind of money I shouldn’t have to fix anything that early on. I will still recommend it because it did have great features and delicious coffee in the beginning.

We bought the Magnifica S wanting an idiot-proof espresso maker that also does coffee. And it does this. Espresso beverages taste great and it really is as simple as hitting a button or two. Things that keep me from giving this a higher rating: * Lots of things needed between making cups of coffee. We seem to be always filling, cleaning, or otherwise finagling with it. For instance, we've only had the machine for a month and have already descaled it twice. * Beverage size - We like (need) our caffeine. When we do drip coffee we have to do the 2x option plus an additional regular cup to make a decent-sized cup. Not a huge deal, but this requires time and attention. Plus it will separately brew two-times for the 2X option and then once for the 1X. Definitely not a real replacement for a Keurig or regular coffee maker unless you want espresso and don't want two things on the counter. For espresso drinks, I often brew an additional shot into the drink. * Pour spout height - A standard travel mug doesn't fit under the pour spout. So we have to brew into a mug and pour into what we take with us to work. Other brands accommodate for taller mugs, I believe. * Lack of customization - I'd love to be able to customize how much coffee, how much milk, and how much foam goes into each beverage. This comes with the higher priced model I believe. But this one isn't cheap! So I would have liked to have had some control over these elements.

I'm spoiled now. I get good coffee, freshly ground, with frothed milk, on a daily basis. My coffee consumption increased from 2 cups daily to 4-5. I have bad reflux now but I can't stop. This isn't coffee heaven though and there are issues. First, the coffee maker eats a lot of beans but the volume per cup is small. Second, the machine has been acting up and it has only been 2 months. Occasionally the machine makes weird noises and sometimes it says that there isn't any water in the circuit. Not sure what that means. Lastly, it eats a lot of water cleaning. Every step it cleans itself. This is good I guess in a way, but it wastes a lot of water. Overall positive experience with this machine. Hopefully it doesn't break down soon since it is also pricey and I got it as a gift.

I did a lot of research before I bought this coffee maker because the amount of money that it cost. I ended up getting it for $220 less here at Best Buy. It was everything that I hoped it would be so easy and save so much time making my cappuccino in the morning and very easy to clean.

We had 2 other bean to cup machines (including another DeLonghi) and this is our favorite so far. Makes a nice cappuccino as well as other drinks. The 2x feature is nice if you need a large drink! Our first DeLonghi lasted over 8 years and was still working well when we left Europe and had to get a new 110 voltage machine.

Like any powerful tool, it took some read the book to get the hang of this coffee maker. Keep water, beans, and milk in it and remove the waste frequently and you will be very happy with your drinks. It was a ton more than I ever expected to spend but I believe I will be enjoying it for quite a while so worth it.

My wife and I have been drinking coffee done wrong for too long. This machine is foolproof. It does espresso/latte/machiato to an absolute perfection and produces hot water for tea. I love, love this machine. Because it was a major investment I contacted DeLonghi first to see how good their customer service was. I was not disappointed. They pick up within one minute. I asked them if I should use special coffee. They replied no except not to use oily coffee. They recommend that I use medium-dark roast. I purchased the Sam's Club Colombian Supremo brand, Member's Mark for fifteen dollars and I was delighted. It is a good investment if you are like me and are sick and tired of drinking 'bad' coffee.
