    Delphi Disappoints Again

I had a Delphi Roady2 for about two years when suddenly about half the buttons stopped working. The unit worked but many of the buttons just stopped working, most notably those that change the preset banks. I called Delphi and they said "Sorry, out of warranty." That should have been a warning. I bought the Skyfi3 because I liked the record feature and the micro SD expansion. This radio is good when it works but that's the problem. It takes upwards of 4 minutes to come on. This is the case with and without the micro SD card in place. As if that isn't bad enough, it often has to be resent (by pressing mode and volume together) once or twice. This requires two hands and can't be done while driving. With a couple of reboots and enough patience the unit finally comes on and works well but getting it started is a consistent hassle. The design is okay though the unit is a bit heavy to mount the car cradle to an A/C vent. The remote control works well in a car but not from across the room at home. I finally got the FM broadcast to work but it is so subject to interference that I use a cassette adapter instead. The SkyFi3 is the 2nd Delphi product I have owned and the second Delphi product that has disappointed. There will not be a third.

    No more FM!

I purchased this receiver in June 2007. Four months later, I can say that I haven't listened to the FM stereo in that amount of time. I like that I can bookmark favorite songs and channels. The display is large enough that I only have to glance over while driving. I used a third party device to wire the radio directly into the cd changer input of my car stereo. The quality is not cd quality. But, it is similar or better than FM. I also purchased the portable kit. The headphones aren't very comfortable. But, they provide the antenna. However, I plug the antenna headphones in; then, I use another pair of headphones off of the headphone jack. Once I figured out the control interface, it's a breeze. But, it took me a while to figure out how to navigate around. The only drawback that I've found is the detail when browsing channels. It will show either the artist, the song titles, or the channel name. There is no way to see the artist and song title. Overall, definately a great investment. I can use this receiver in my car, stand-alone, or connected to my home system.

I got this Xm receiver as a present. And love it. Its great! Pros: Great battery life, great display, plenty of memory. Cons: Its a little bulky but if you like the large screen then its just right. Well worth the money. And you can recored Xm to it and your own MP3 files on a Mini sd card.
