I wanted a new receiver that supported Dolby Atmos to boost my home theatre to a 7.4.1. There are very few receivers out there that have 11 amps built in and the Denon offers the best bang for the buck. I used the auto set up with Audyssey and after tweeking a few things I am extremely happy with the overall playback. Ive read and seen on youtube where people have complained about hum - I have very sensitive hearing and I get no hum out of my system at any volume. I am guessing it was fixed in one of the firmware upgrades. Also I noted another reviewer complaining about the video upscaling which doesn't make much sense. I don't know why he didn't use the hdmi pass through if he didn't like the Denon's upscaling. Bottom line is I am extremely happy thus far with the Denon.

I researched different receivers for months trying to find something to replace my aging Sony STR-DA5700ES. I needed 4k HDCP switching and wanted 9 to 11 channel surround processing so I could add height speakers to my existing 6.1 (with dual subs) setup. Finally decided on the Denon AVR-X6300H based on Denon's reputation, the fact that it had 11 channels of amplification built in and that it had Audyssey MultEQ XT32 system optimization. I was disappointed to learn the Audyssey would only differentiate level and distance for the 2 subwoofer outputs, they are equalized the same. I carried on, and initially thought it sounded good. However, after doing the Audyssey calibration, the sound was thin and harsh. I tried it 3 more times, finally was able to see on one of the onscreen menus it was boosting the 16kHz band by +6dB. Apparenly you need the Audyssey Pro calibration kit to manually adjust the curves Audyssey creates. The Pro kit is supposed to be $500 plus a $150 license for each Audyssey device you calibrate. Or pay someone else with the Pro kit to come in and do it. I couldn't find anywhere to order it. I've read rumors Audyssey is coming out with a tablet based app to allow individual calibration. Then my family came home and my wife complained of how soft the picture was. The Denon was upscaling the 1080p output of our media center PC to 4k rather than allowing the TV to do it. After 3 days of fooling with settings I gave up and returned it. Put the old Sony ES back in place, sound and picture were great.

I'll need to update my review as the receiver stopped working on day 1. On day 1 it was fantastic. I have an Atmos setup with 7.1.4 and configuring it on the Denon was very easy. Image and sound quality were great. However, when I tried to use it the next day there was no audio or video. Working with Denon now to resolve. Hopefully this is only a minor, one-time issue and not a sign of things to come. Would've been a 5-star review if not for this issue

I upgraded my 10 year old Denon for this receiver. Having the ability to connect 11 speakers was a blessing. Now I'm able to run my front speak bi-wiring and still keep my 7.1 set up. I'm just waiting to get a little extra cash to top off my connection with the atmos speakers. Only recommendation is take your time when it comes to the configuration. Does take some time to get all the setting just right to your own personal taste. Plus Denon also provides a cardboard stand to perform the audsey setup.

I bought my Avr- 6300h to replace my 12 year old Denon 3805.This receiver is very powerful and easy to use with the on screen menu. I should not have to replace this model for a long time with all the features! I am very pleased so far!!

Love the ability to add Dolby Atmos speakers and its handling of 4k content. I've always liked the Denon sound (this is probably my 5th or 6th Denon receiver) and this one doesn't disappoint.

I updated my AVR receiver in my home theatre room with the Denon AVR-X6300H. Man, does this unit sound GREAT. I love the Dolby ATMOS and DTS-X. The WIFI and Bluetooth are great too. The 7.2.4 is the BOMB! It is just like being at the movie theatre.
