Bought this new Denon DP-300F turntable and after easy set up it sounds great with my old vinyl records from the early 1970's.

This turntable is a good quality turntable at a very reasonable cost. The only reasons for not having rated it as excellent is the fact that its equipped cartridge is mediocre, and the turntable doesn't have pitch control. The cartridge issue, however, is easily remedied as it's replaceable. I am otherwise more than pleased with it's performance, and especially pleased with it's clean and simple design and ease of operation.

Purchased this turntable to compliment my home stereo. Nice to get back to listening to vinyl again. The Denon turntable feels like quality and and is. Set up was not difficult, (I do recommend you tube for arm balance/weight adjustment). Also has a switch under the platter in the event you do not have a phono input on your amp/receiver. No adapter required to connect to modern receivers. Sound quality is good and plays well. Only a couple downsides: buttons on the front feel a little flimsy, they work fine but do not feel as solid as the rest of the unit. Cartridge could be better, Shur would be nice. I would give it 5 stars except for the front buttons. I would buy this unit again and may as a gift.

Sounds and looks great. Overall the setup was easy. The only issue I had was when I got it the 33rpm was spinning at 42rpm making everything sound like Alvin and the Chipmunks. After digging into the bowels of the internet I was able to find the service manual figure out how to fix it. Now that it is working properly, I love it!

I returned this and got a Project turntable from Best Buy's Magnolia dept. Still, this is easily one of the best turntables for the money that is FULLY AUTOMATIC. It's all very good quality for the money. It's belt drive platter is excellent - the tonearm too. Everything is good, but for ONE thing: the cartridge is not an eliptical. A good cartridge (like an Ortofon Red) is around $100, so I decided to get the Project. Still, I'm bummed that it's ALL manual. The fully auto Denon is a HUGE thing... so... I'd recommend this and eventually get a better cartridge.

After being away from vinyl for over 30yrs we decided to buy them again. So after 4 of the late Jimmy Buffet albums we needed a turn table. We chose the Denon because it was easy to st up, complemented our AV Receiver and it just sounds good. Could it be better? Maybe, but then I didn't want to spend $1K to $5K. This meets out needs just fine.

    Good unit, lousy cartridge

I've had this unit for a few years and I feel like it's a solid mid-entry turntable for those that want something decent but don't want to break the bank. I don't use it a ton, but when I do, I'm happy with its operation. I will say that the cartridge really is subpar. It will make things sound muddy and thin. This is the worst part of the unit. I upgraded to an Ortofon 2M Blue and had it installed by a local turntable guy (as I didn't know what I was doing. I also noticed that my Yamaha TSR-7810's phono stage input sucked worse than the internal pre-amp stage of the Denon, so at least there's that. Currently I'm using the Denon's internal phono stage I'm planning on buying an aftermarket MM phono stage to help open things up further.

This turntable is well constructed with simple to follow set up instructions. You can feel the weight when you unpack it . The stylus arm and needle track well on older vinyl that may not be perfectly flat any longer. I would recommend this turntable to people who want to really get back into vinyl.

This was my second turntable purchase in a week the first was entry level and the sound was distorted so I shelled out a few more bucks for the Denon. Once I got it out of the box and set up I noticed it was playing fast. Upon researching this it is a known issues and has to be adjusted on the bottom of the unit with a very small jewelers screwdriver and then I had to download an RPM app and manually adjust it for about an hour of total time to get it to play the way it should have out of the box. I don't remember having to do this type of stuff back in the 80's. Sounds great once I took a few hours out of my life to set up what should work out of the box.

This is a good turntable for the price. It has a tendancy not to land on the beginning of the record exactly. I have noticed that upon automatic start the tone arm lifts, moves to the proper place but then shifts back a tiny amount so as not to land exactly.

I am quite satisfied with my Denon DP-300F turntable, but I’m probably being somewhat generous with a 4-star rating. Since I have only had the unit for a week, I cannot comment on its long-term performance and reliability. Automatic operation was my primary purchase criterion, and that meant choosing from a very limited number of new products or from a much larger number of older (vintage), refurbished products. My decision to get the DP-300F was based on its auto start/stop feature, the large number of on-line turntable reviews, and the solid reputation that Denon products have had over the years Here’s what I like about this turntable: Most important is the fact that my LPs (in storage for 20 years) sound great with my relatively modest receiver and speakers. The auto start/stop feature functions exactly as expected; the needle is set down softly on the LP, the tonearm returns to the tonearm rest after the last song, and the platter stops spinning. Price is always important, and it certainly helped that the DP-300F price was reduced significantly from its normal level. I also should mention that all items on the parts list were in the box and in perfect condition, since some reviewers had a different experience. Here’s where I think the turntable misses the mark: My main criticism relates to the inadequate instructions for balancing the tonearm. After spending several hours trying in vain to get their balancing instructions to work, I was ready to return the unit to the store. I thought I had done everything right, but when I put on an LP and pressed the “on” button, the tonearm would not descend enough to allow contact between the stylus and the LP. Then I stumbled across an online review that focused on the very same issue. It turns out that the key to my problem was a tiny Phillips screw that is not mentioned anywhere in the instructions. It is not even visible unless you move the tonearm off the rest. Anyway, after readjusting this screw numerous times, the tonearm finally performed exactly as it should. In contrast to the setup issue, my other criticisms could be viewed as trivial. A small clip to lock down the tonearm should have been included. The RCA cable is hard-wired, which makes it impossible for a person to use a different (perhaps better quality) cable. The mechanical operation of the four buttons (speed/size/on/off) does not exactly give the impression of long-term durability. It would also have been nice if the cartridge had been fitted with an elliptical stylus instead of a conical one. The heavy reliance on plastic in manufacturing the turntable produces a cheap look and feel. Overall, it does not seem to me that this turntable lives up to the Denon reputation. Given the price I paid for the Denon DP-300F and the features it offers (and in spite of its shortcomings), I would recommend it as a good option for those who want an automatic turntable.

Absolutely outstanding fully automatic turntable! I have been searching high and low for a reasonably priced, reliable fully automatic turntable and this product always seemed to top the review charts. The only downside is that it is mostly all plastic and does not have a clip to secure the arm to the mounting stand. It easily bounces of the stand. Overall well worth the price. I will provide an update after a year of use.

    Denon Automatic turntable

Not the best tt I have ever owned - that was a Thorens manual with a Denon MC cartridge - but it Is indeed the best Automatic tt I have ever owned (better even than the Dual I once enjoyed). This Denon 300f is Quiet, stable and simple to operate. The automatic tonearm movement is precise and well damped. The two buttons for start and stop feel somewhat basic, but perform as they should, and there is a damped cueing lever for manual operation and record cleaning. (Lift with cueing lever, operate start button, use Discwasher or similar, then lower with cueing lever). The Denon branded moving magnet cartridge it arrived with sounds surprisingly sweet and articulate if not placing instruments precisely on the sound stage (which is not really an issue unless listening to live recorded tracks) but the universal headshell allows simple cartridge upgrades. The DPf 300 fit and finish is the best I have seen for under $600, and it was well packaged and easy to set up. - A Solid value !

I was debating between this and the Audio‑Technica AT‑PL120, and I have been absolutely blown away! A quality turntable with sleek design that sounds even better than it looks. The only concern I can think of, even though unnoticeable if your setup is stationary, is that there is no latch on the tone arm rest. When you get the device it will be held in place with a twist tie, and you can easily put another if you need to move your table.

I am a BB & Denon loyalist. I have a Pioneer turntable which needed a new needle and was browsing for the same and found this great turn table on sale. Grabbed it without hesitation and BB had it ready for me pick it up on time. Installation was easy with the supplied instructions, has PHONO which is a great plus, materials are of good quality, great construction, sounds great with my Klipsch speakers. Has automatic tone arm which worked perfectly. I am happy and would recommend to buy.

I purchased this to replace a Sony turntable that I was not happy listening to. This Denon was a huge improvement in sound and the music sounds much more and dynamic. This unit is an automatic unit which was a requirement for me as I want to be able to.leave the room and have the unit turn off automatically. The assembly instructions were not good. I ended up on YouTube to look for a set up video which made it much easier! I definitely recommend this unit!

My turntable is sleek and fits into my cabinet without being cumbersome or looking out of place. The Denton turntable works beautifully with my Denon receiver and the sound that comes out of my surround sound is fantastic. I am having a problem trying to drag myself away from the turntable and the quality of the music that fills my home.

It was really easy to set up, which took only a few minutes for my 15 year son to set up. He already had set up before even I reached home. Build quality is really good. Built in phono amp avoided some additional expense. It is a decent phono amp. My vinals came to life. Sound is amazing on my Focal Area 936 speakers. Can't replace my solid state amp with a tube amp to get 100% out of vinyls.
