Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by Destiny's stunning graphics, engaging multiplayer, and immersive storyline. They appreciate the addictive gameplay, action-packed sequences, and the ability to customize their characters. However, some users have expressed concerns about the repetitive nature of the game, the excessive grinding required for leveling up, and the large amount of hard drive space it takes up.

    Fun Game with Friends

This game is a lot of fun to play with friends, and between the raids, strikes, story missions, and patrols; there is a lot for you to do with them. However, I have to admit that the way the story was executed was rather confusing, and the final boss left me wanting for some more explanation. This game is a very solid FPS/MMO styled game, however, if you don't like games that require you to grind a bit to get better armor/weapons, then this game may not be for you. Other than that, I say that it's a very solid game to pick up!

I got this for my son who is transitioning between first person shooter games and RPGs. The story line is good, and the controls are pretty much identical to the original Halo games. It's good for him to learn the basics of RPGs while sticking with the kinds of games he knows.

I have been an advocate for the Halo Series(343) but Destiny and Bungie does it right with this beautifully created game. Since I have owned Destiny I have not yet put Halo back in my console. You will spend hours playing this game and be hungry for more.

My son loves this game he wants to play all the time. The only issue we had was that we did not know it would require so much memory and we had to buy additional memory for the Xbox to get the game to download. But well worth it excellent game.

It's an okay game. It's really fun to play with friends and really cool that you can play with others online but after a while you wonder what the story is all about. I wish there was more to say about the game but the words Okay just come to mind.

When Destiny first came out last year, i didnt have a system to play it on. Fastforward to this summer when i played this game for the first time at my friends house. I was in love. Next day after Destiny goes on sale. Bought it for $15.

This is a wonderful shooter and has some excellent things brought in from other video game genres. It has a wonderful universe that is to only expand in time. The multiplayer is by far as good as some of the other top shooting games out there, but the single player world adds a lot of extra things to be done. The actual story of the game has something that is left to be desired but does it jobs and keeps you wanting to progress your character. This is only a little of what is there, and more to come as the game moves on in the future.

This game has between 20-80 hours of content in it. It varies based on your taste for running the same 5 mission strikes over and over again (you have to grind the strikes in order to get good drops). After about two months I was burned out and couldn't run the strikes anymore. This game was promised to be revolutionary but is anything but. I enjoyed Borderlands vast content more than the limited content of this game. Also, the online functionality isn't great, you can't find random people to raid with and as a result you must use direct messaging or a third party website in order to play the raids.

    Destiny Xbox 360 Review

    - The game is definitely a good play. It's a fun mixture between a Halo-esque shooter and an RPG which is pretty fresh. The amount of content in the initial release is lacking in my opinion especially because Bungie tries to give it an RPG feel. After a while it definitely feels like RPG grinding which I can accept without a problem however, there is a difference between this and there just not being enough content. To me there just isn't enough content which looses a star for me. The other major beef I have with the game is the tech support. If you don't have a gold account and the internet you can't play at all. The game runs seemlessly if it runs at all. Randomly you will get error codes instead of lag which will prevent the game from launching, kick you off the world or pvp patch your playing, or kick you all the way out of the game. They happen randomly and repeatedly. It's happened to me for literally days at a time. Super frustrating! You want to talk about a rage quit? Try not being able to play for more than 30 seconds at a time for a whole weekend when you set it aside to play with buddies. NAT type is super important so if you play from a hotel or dorm plan to have more issues than if you can control the router's NAT type. With that being said, it's pretty. It's fun. It's addictive at times. I'm hoping they will fill in the gaps with what is to be desired in the expansions. Just like Halo, they know you're going to buy it so what does Bungie really care.

As a mom, I was pleased to see that this game was rated "T" instead of "M". I am not a gamer, just a mom who buys a lot of video games as gifts. My son says the graphics are great and he likes the weapon selection. He enjoys the online play. He was disappointed with the Vanguard armory pack that came with the preorder. He thought he would automatically have the guns available, which they are not. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase. However, I do wish it had the option to play offline also.

Destiny is a hard game to review, because it does a lot of things well, but at the same time, falls really flat in a lot of areas. The gameplay is superb, as you would expect from Bungie. They've taken their Halo formula, mixed it up a little bit, and created a new standard for FPS games. The open world design allows the player a lot of freedom to explore, unrestricted to a linear path during missions. And the population of people within the worlds gives them a sense of habitation. Even if they're just random strangers you have limited means of communicating with, they still enhance the world just by being there. However, Bungie failed in a lot of ways with this game as well. The story is utterly lacking. The enemies feel like reskins of each other - occasionally you'll find something new and unique, but the flavor of enemy you're killing never really matters. The end game grind is horrid - I understand that they're trying to extend the game and give it "replay" value, which I respect, but there are certainly ways that they could have gone about it that would have made it a lot more fun and a lot less frustrating. In the end, I've gotten my $60 out of it, and really enjoyed the time I've spent playing with friends. However, I've yet to finish the story, and there's very little compelling me to do so. In fact, there's very little compelling me to pick up the game at all, but for some reason, I do anyway.

Destiny is a good game...as long as you know what you're getting. It is not your everyday FPS (First Person Shooter). It implements many RPG (Role Playing Game) elements: i.e. collecting armors/weapons, upgrading armors/weapons, gaining experience to level up your character, etc. If you do not enjoy grinding/farming (playing areas or killing enemies repeatedly in a kind of repetitive way), I would not recommend this game. I enjoy the grind sometimes so Destiny is a 4/5 star game for me. Since I assume most people do not enjoy the rgind as much as I do, it is more of a 3/5 star game for the average person. Story is very lacking. Graphics are good. Multiplayer PVP (Player vs. Player) is fun. There are plenty of ways to play co-op with 2 or 5 other people as well. If you can have a full team of friends playing it makes the game much more enjoyable. It is definitely lacking but I have faith that new DLC (DownLoadable Content) will help. Another thing to note, is that if you do not have the paid online service (Xbox Live Gold or PSN Plus) you can not play this game. All in all, I say that if you like leveling up your character as you play games, you like FPSs, and you don't mind grinding to get better gear, and don't mind the lack of story, I would recommend this game. If you are unsure about some of the games components I would say try to play it first or at least watch some gameplay footage before you buy it.

Destiny is a great game and has really good gameplay and graphics (depending on the console you bought it with, but good either way). Admittedly, the storyline isn’t very engaging and the fact that it is an online only game means that if the internet isn’t functioning properly, neither is your game. Besides those things the game is overall really good with sudden events coming into your game world where you can defeat if you team up with other players.
