A steep learning curve but a rewarding adventure

Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition feels as though it were designed for game consoles. I have never played the original PC version, but the game does not feel as though something is missing. I never have a problem navigating the map aside from figuring out how to get past an obstacle. While playing with others, I did not feel like the game was suddenly broken and that the coop feature was thrown in or anything of the sort. These are important to note simply because the game is a port and that word has been a stigma on so many console titles before it. This “enhanced edition” is exactly that. The game was made to feel natural on a console and care was taken to make sure that as much as possible, the visuals would not suffer. Additional levels of difficulty were added to extend the replay value of the game. To be honest, unless you have played the PC version, you are probably going to want to start on the easier modes. The tutorial dungeon can and will kill you if you are not careful. Said tutorial really only gives you the basics and you have to read all of the information given to you in order to grasp the reins of the game. If you think of Divinity like riding a bicycle then you are on the right track as you will fall repeatedly as you get better. When you get the hang of it, think of the game more like a motorcycle. At this point you know what you are doing but one mistake can mean a grizzly death, even if it wasn’t your fault. This is where enjoyment for this game comes from. You know that it is difficult and you may struggle at certain points but there will be satisfaction when you get over the hurdles before you. You will be able to progress through the entire game solo but you may find it more fun to play with someone else if that is an option for you. I strongly recommend that RPG fans pick up Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition and find their own path. There are many different experiences to be had in the game and it is one of those titles where the price tag is more than warranted.

If you like baldur's gate or even dragon age you will love this game. If you like Diablo or sacred 2 you will love this game. this game had the feeling of all those games. There's loot to plunder the mechanics and strategy involved in combat and the exploration give you the feeling that you are playing a game with elements from all of those games in one. There is a pause and play so you can issue commands for your characters and the turn based combat makes you really think about how to proceed. There's no charging in and whacking away and clearing an area. You really need to use all of your skills to survive. That said the difficulty is not high. The game gives you skills and then puts you in situations where you have to use them. Looting is always fun and it's so cool, that anticipation of "what am I going to find in this area." Visually this game looks awesome. Very vibrant colors and beautiful landscapes make this so easy to look at, you dont get tired of the scenery. As an aside, the still photo cut scenes harken back to the 1999 pc days of video games. I love this game and can't stop playing it. Can't recommend highly enough!!

    Tough game for the uninitiated

Let's start by saying that this game is fun, deep, and has all the customization a person could ask for. That being said this game can be very frustrating as the game has very little direction on where to go or what quest you should or shouldn't do, or if the quest can even be completed at your current level. So it ends up being a lot of searching, fighting, getting destroyed, and loading. Lots of loading. If your a serious rpg fan then give it a try and see if you can navigate the menus and quest log. There is fun to be had as the actual strategy in the fights is awesome and very rewarding when you win. In the end this game won't be for everyone, but if you have any free time before fallout 4 comes out then what do you have to lose.

Younger players not familiar with Balders Gate and similar RPGS might feel lost or overwhelmed with Divinity, but whether you're a veteran of this genre of just want an rpg, divinity is a great example of open ended and immersion gameplay, but be prepared to make a commitment of time and attention

The characters are well-thought out with fun and interesting conversations, the gameplay is complex with many options at your disposal, and the combat is challenging with many deadly encounters awaiting you. This game reminds me of the old school rps such as Baulders gate. This game is massive. Its supports co-op. Just so much to do. It can be a tad difficult, but there are plenty of online guides for.tips

I'm having a hard time getting into the game. Slow start. There's almost too many skill options. Combat is fun but a little slow as well.

It's a great computer style RPG for the PS4. While playing wiht the controller isn't exactly ideal, the game is still phenomenal.

Pretty tough for new comers. Battles are slow paced and few and far between, which I don't love, but combat combinations are pretty cool.

Was looking for a game to play with my girlfriend who isn't very good at games. It is pretty complex but if you know how the game works/Rpg's in general having it turn based and split screen where it doesn't drag the other person along with you has been a great option to play with her!

While 2015 has been an amazing year for video games, the release of video games that support local co-operative play have been few and far between. Divinity is a fun game to play with a friend or by yourself. It plays like old PC adventure games such as Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale. Expect text-heavy dialogue scenes, turn-based combat, and dungeon crawl level design.
