Fantastic Step Up From the Mini 2!

I got a DJI Mini 2 drone in early 2021, and absolutely loved it for aerial photos and video. I loved it so much that I wanted to take it up a notch, and the Air 2S fit the bill.
Compared to the Mini 2, the Air 2S is similar, but a little larger and heftier (but not so much that it won't still fit in my backpack). What it adds is more than just a little size and weight, however: A better camera with a larger sensor and sturdier gimbal, obstacle avoidance sensors for a little more peace of mind while flying, and more Active Track modes (like a true subject follow mode). The extra heft also makes it a bit steadier in wind. So far, the quality of photos and videos I get from it do have that extra bit of clarity and dynamic range I expected. It uses the exact same remote and app as the Mini 2, so no learning curve there (apart from getting to know the new intelligent flight modes).
On the negative side, since this is a heavier drone, it does require registration with the FAA to be flown in the US. But that's a quick and easy online process and only costs five bucks, nothing to be afraid of.
Secondly, since it's a heavier drone it requires a larger and heavier battery, which still doesn't provide much additional flight time over the Mini 2. It also can't be charged via USB like the Mini 2, something to keep in mind for extended excursions--there are aftermarket car chargers available, at least.
Lastly, its larger size does make this a louder drone than the Mini 2. With the Mini 2, it was practically inaudible once up to 100 feet or so, which is nice for trying to remain stealthy. The Air 2S I can still hear pretty clearly in relatively quiet environments. I did get a set of Master Airscrew Stealth props, which do make it a bit lower-pitched if not actually more quiet.
All in all, I can highly recommend the Air 2S for newcomers, or for those looking to take the next step from a Mini or older-gen drone. I'd certainly recommend springing for the Fly More Combo as well--the case alone is very nice for storage and portability, and the extra batteries are crucial for a day out with the drone.

I had surgery 10 days ago and have gotten a lot of fly time from my balcony this thing can do anything It shoots the best video 5.4 k at 30 frames per second and 4K and 60 frames per second and 1080p in 120 frames per second it at a thousand feet shoots video or pictures crystal clear and look amazing when you show them on your OLED Samsung flat screen TV. I highly recommend these, if you're in the market for one the DJI is the way to go The air2s has a little bit shorter flight time because it's a little bit heavier than the mavic I believe but 30 minutes on one battery and you get three batteries so that's an hour and a half flat time and while you're using the second battery you can charge the first one and you can keep cycling through them so you could fly all day if you wanted to. The thing will go over 40 mph with a distance of 7 mi it also will go 3 mi high in the air although I haven't gotten it that high I don't really need to be that high in the air. This thing is great I probably already said that it's super awesome I love it I wish I would have bought one a long time ago

Definitely buy the Fly More Combo vs. the Air 2S alone. You'll need all three batteries if you do any serious photo work. The 3-battery charger, ND filter pack, extra cables and props make the value even better. The soft shell carry case is a nice touch, although I use a hardshell case. Flying performance - The endurance is about 25 minutes in hover. Range is completely acceptable for prosumer work and even pro work. Top end in sport mode is about 40mph. Hover stability for stills is great, even in a pretty stiff wind. Can't say enough about what a great drone this is for the money. The new 1 inch camera is stellar and honestly unbelievable at this price point. This is my second camera drone and first Mavic/DJI. I am completely happy with this purchase. I've had it about 2 weeks and have already gotten fantastic video and stills from it. What are you waiting for? Go get one!

This Drone is amazing! It has a silent propeller. The photos and videos are great qualities. Thanks to it’s one inch camera sensor. It has better Active Track. It followed me everywhere while I am biking. It can dodge obstacles as long as it is moving forward or backward but not sidewards. It is compact when I fold it, which means easy to bring on the go. The battery lasts for 30minutes. The range can go up to 3 miles on my test. But it can go farther if less hindrance.

This drone plus combo kit is a great buy! I have been flying with a DJI Phantom 4 Advanced drone for a couple of years, but given its size I was looking for a drone I could bring with me in the suitcase when traveling. The DJI Air 2S does just that! I mostly take still images so in my opinion the camera quality is the same, although I don't have variable aperture on the Air 2S as I do on my old drone. I didn't use it very often, and I still have the old one so if need arises I can always just fly the Phantom.
Where I think the Air 2s excel to me is the size and the connection to the controller. It is easy to pack, even with the 3 batteries and I can easily fit all I need to fly into a camera bag with a full frame body and a couple of lenses. Or just use the carrying bag that came with the drone! It is as easy to fly as my old drone and for videographers it has some really nice tracking features.
It is small, so it is easy to loose sight of it when you are 0.5 mile out. It is actually easier to see in the blue hour due to its flashing lights!
It is an excellent drone at a good price point!

Blown away by this drone. Easy to setup and fly. Highly recommend the fly more kit. You will need everything in the kit. Extra batteries and charger make up for the extra cost. Control with the included controller is excellent and easy to setup. The Software used on the iPhone is very good and provides very granular control of drone flight and the excellent camera. The batteries give you about 20 to 25 minutes of flight time depending on wind conditions and how you fly the drone. I recommend taking it to a larger open area a few times to learn how it reacts to the controls and different flight conditions. Though it handles very well in slightly windy conditions. This is an expensive drone and the build quality and it’s overall performance exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend that you study up on the care of the batteries. There’s a ton of you tube videos on the subject. These are Li-Po batteries and are very expensive. In order to provide the longest life span and most reliable performance they take some extra care and TLC to keep them at their best. I chose this drone for the camera capabilities, the obstacle avoidance system and the flashing lights on all 4 arms. This helps you keep track of its location slightly. I highly recommend this drone! It’s no toy for sure. Well made and thought out design. Note that in the photo I took it shows an add on strobe light that didn’t come with the kit. It too aids in keeping a visual line of sight to the drone.

Good drone, but it isn't a Mavic 2, Zoom, or 2 Pro

Sure, the Air2S is a decent drone, so I will indeed keep it. However: do NOT expect the knockout level of video quality you wanted. It's good- but is NOT as good as the Phantom Pro 4+ or the Mavic 2 Pro overall. Its just not.
The Air2s' digital crop zoom is so noisy it is basically unusable, which is why the cheap controller was used. So the NIGHT video is best. If the Air2s had a remote aperature like it should, it would then be the drone most people think they are getting. I really wouldnt buy the Air2s again without the Pro color controller.
So honestly, to me the Zoom is STILL the best overall "medium size" drone ever. In fact, I sold my Mavic 2 Zoom to buy an AIR2s, but then bought a used Mavic 2 Zoom to replace it...because it was just so good. It gets the shots that NO other drone can, every time. Thats a fact.
Also, even a moderate wind eats the lightweight Air2s up, and makes smooth video flying tough....whereas the Mavic 2 isnt even phased by high wind. Again, its a real shame the Air2s' control unit is so wimpy. The Mavic 2's extra zoom wheel is simply irreplaceable.
And the Air2s' battery life is better- but not shockingly so. Sadly, automated waypoint flying is gone in the Air2s. Its just not there, but was built in on the Mavic 2 series. Yes, shooting in 5k and 10 bit D-Log / HLG seems nice, but the reality is minimal. There are zoom restrictions in every mode it seems, like the Sony A6600 series. Last, the big 4k 60 tight crop just isn't cool. The Air2s' one inch sensor IS good at night, and is by FAR superior to the Mavic 2 Zoom and Mini 2s.*
*NOTE: IF you plan to shoot mostly at night you should absolutely buy an Air2s or Mavic 3. The Mavic 2 Zoom, the Mini 2, and the Mini 2s simply do NOT shoot in low light well- the footage is unusable. You CAN however get usuable night footage from the Air2s if you need to. This is the Air2s' main advantage. Maybe its only one.
Overall, for the average drone buff I would pass on the Air2s and get a nice Mavic 2 Zoom. They are really cheap right now ($<1000) and they fly like an M-1 tank. The Mavic 2 Zoom is by FAR the best professional drone for serious video pros for the money right now. Find a low hours Mavic 2 Zoom on FB marketplace, test it VERY well....and buy it!
IF you want an Air2s, you'll have fun with it. Its VERY fast and sporty. And it's overall performance at night is awesome and the LED lights are far better.
Now you know.

I think out of all the DJI drones this one is the one in the middle. Not too expensive but not too cheap that you sacrifice features. I think it does make a difference having the larger size drone over the Mini especially if there's some wind when trying to fly it.

An excellent device with tons of features to unpack. DJI remains at the top of the heap in a wide range of categories. This version does miss some obstacle avoidance sensors that would be nice as side panning shots are often used but not protected by sensors. Fly More Combo is a great way to get most everything you need from the get go.

After using the Mavic Mini since it launched, this Air 2S is a world apart. The images and video are just incredible, even in darker situations. The clarity and colors are indistinguishable from a DSLR.
Modes like master shots and sphere photos add to the fun, but the real magic is in the stability of the drone in flight (even gusts of wind), the remarkable distances it can fly to without losing signal and what the one inch sensor can output to bring the best of aerial photography for less than the Pro range.

This mini drone is AMAZING!
We went through all DJI drones ever since they came out, the last one being the Phantom 4 pro. We wanted one that is more portable, and the Air 2S it IT!
It easily fits into a backpack, has plenty of accessories, and is rock solid, even in windy conditions. The sensors at its bottom have greatly improved (see picture).
I highly recommend this drone to everyone who wants to take great videos without having to lug along and FAA approved case.

I’m a beginner never having flown a drone before and this things is just awesome…I bought the package kit and not only read the initial manuals, which didn’t tell you much, instead I watched YouTube videos to learn what to do, what not to do…etc., before taking it outside. Once I took off, it was impressive, the speed, accuracy, the height/distance it traveled, and most importantly the quality of video/pics, all shot in 4K!
It’s more than what a beginner needs, but if you’re like me and want to jump in and learn the features/advanced capabilities, it’s an amazing drone!

I’m really liking the AIR 2S DJI Drone. I had already purchased one and wrapped it in black fiber carbon and painted a stripe design all over the carbon. It looks really nice. However, I just purchased the DJI-RC and synced my AIR2s to it and man. The experience was great. But since I didn’t want to remove the fiber canon from my drone, my batteries and the N1 controller. I just purchased another DJI AIR 2S to use with the DJI-RC controller. These A2s’s are really a great buy and their quality is unsurpassed. For me, the AIR 2S gives me just only what I need in a drone. Not too much and definitely not too little. I also purchased the Rose Go 2 for audio and the audio is nothing short of very good, although I am leaning towards the DJI MIC. Both drones came from BestBuy as their protective policy is very reliable and hassle free. I should be getting my drone by this Saturday and I can’t wait. Thank you. Eric
