    I came into the Best Buy Store looking for a camera and i came across this Osmo Gimbal for a mobile phone . After researching how to use it on youtube i found that i just made a huge investment because the possibilities are endless with the camera shots . Its very simple to use and the app teaches you how create amazing shots and effects to your videos and photos. Not only that but the price is reasonable and the product is travel size pick up and go. I have had this product a little over a month and i use traditional and untraditional its very diverse and it extends taller. 10-10

    The DJI Osmo Mobile 6 is an impressive piece of tech that makes mobile filmmaking a breeze. Its sleek design is both stylish and functional, offering a comfortable grip with intuitive controls that are perfect for one-handed operation. The upgraded ActiveTrack 5.0 is incredibly responsive, ensuring your subject stays perfectly in frame, even when you’re on the move. Stabilization is top-notch, resulting in incredibly smooth footage even in challenging conditions, and the built-in extension rod is a neat bonus for capturing unique angles or wider shots. The gimbal connects seamlessly to the DJI Mimo app, unlocking a range of creative features like time-lapse, panoramas, and smart editing tools. Battery life is solid too, lasting through extended shoots without issue. It’s a must-have for content creators who want to elevate their smartphone videography to the next level without investing in a bulky setup. Weak Android Support

    The bad: 1. The app isn't on the play store I would assume because it doesn't meet Google's guidelines. You need to change phone settings to allow this install. 2. It only supports the 1x and 3x cameras on the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Why have a zoom wheel if it can't even access the 10x optical camera? Also, the 0.6X camera is a no go. 3. Active track has trouble starting using the hand signal when the background is busy. 4. Camera and Video functionality is very limited in the mimo app. No HDR, only 30fps support, no geotagging photos, no pro camera etc.. If you switch to the default phone camera app you cant even use the start/stop button on the gimbal, there is 0 connectivity there. 5. The ability to look down is very limited. Placing this on a table using its mini stand you cannot look down very far. 6. Active track only works on the 1x lens. As soon as you hit 3x it stops zooming while active track is on. The Good: 1. It is light, quick to setup and not much of a learning curve. 2. It fits the large S22 Ultra in a thin case and motors can handle it. 3. Active track when working is great. 4. Gimbal serves the purpose of making video smooth. 5. Price isn't bad compared to other DJI gimbals. I could get over almost all the negatives if they could get all the cameras supported on this popular phone and if active track could work across each camera. Photo is GoPro in the Volta Handle next to the Insta360 X3, next to this OM6 Gimbal, next to the Ronin SC Gimbal with a APS-C camera.

    • Brand response from DJI Support
      Posted .

      Dear customer,

      We are sorry for the inconvenience caused. Hope the following details can better help you with your problems:
      1. This phone model is not currently in the compatibility list. When used with the DJI Mimo App, there may be software compatibility issues; it will be compatible with this device through firmware upgrades in the future.
      2. Regarding the camera lens you mentioned in questions 2, 4, and 6, the S22 series with Mimo only supports the main camera, not the wide-angle and telephoto lenses, so it cannot zoom to the corresponding multiple. This is due to the brand of the mobile phone. Only the main camera can be called to the DJI Mimo App, and the calling permissions of other cameras are not opened.
      If you need to use low magnification wide-angle or high magnification zoom, and use HDR and other functions that are not open to mobile phones, it is recommended to use the original camera to shoot, and use the gimbal to provide basic stabilization;
      3. Control the native camera function, currently not supported by Samsung mobile phones;
      4. Regarding the pitch angle of the gimbal, the control angle of the gimbal is pitch: -25° to 40°. If the customer wants to shoot overhead, it is recommended not to use a tripod, and to lie on the gimbal for overhead shooting.

      Please send us a related video so that we can check the details and help you more with your problems, please send us the video via this link: http://www.dji.com/support, besides, we will also forward your suggestions to the relevant team and see how we can do better.

      Should you need any further assistance, please feel free to contact our DJI support at http://www.dji.com/support, We are always here to help.

    Great Stabilizer with a Premium Feel

    I’ve been using the DJI Osmo Mobile 6 for a few weeks now, and I’m impressed by its premium build quality and how comfortable it is to hold. It’s not too heavy, making longer shoots manageable. The gimbal does a fantastic job stabilizing my footage—everything stays smooth and steady, even when I’m on the move. I also appreciate the thoughtful features packed into this model; it feels like DJI put a lot of care into the design. The only downside is that many of those features are unlocked only when using DJI’s dedicated app. I prefer using my phone’s native camera app, but the video quality doesn’t suffer too much when I do switch back to the native camera. Overall, it’s an excellent gimbal if you’re looking to add some serious stability and polish to your smartphone videos. I highly recommend it!

    Super Solid Gimble

    This is a solid and portable gimble, from its hardware to its mobile app! It has a slight learning curve but is very easy to grasp. You will have a wide range of stable and directional control for your videos/photos, and the extender arm and the tripod attachment make it a bonus for hitting those angles or those POV and selfie shots. I am also impressed with the thumb access to all of those buttons to trigger all of your iPhone's video and photo features without using the touchscreen. It is a very efficient and well-thought-out user experience. It would also be great if the trigger finger button could be customized as the video record or photo snapshot button. My only gripe is the MagSafe clamp for iPhones using a protective case, as it could interfere with your buttons and continuously trigger them. It takes a little finesse, and it depends on your protective case, but you might be able to avoid it. Centering the MagSafe clamp is not difficult once you have done it a few times. In some cases, you might need to offset the positioning of the clamp to avoid button triggering, which could also affect the gimble's auto-balancing feature in landscape mode. The gimble may also use more battery life to maintain its balance during landscape mode. However, if you still have button/balancing issues with the DJI MagSafe clamp, I came across a perfect adapter mount if you Google "DJI magnetic ring holder phone clamp mount." It works perfectly with Magsafe iPhone cases and with the DJI Osmo 6 gimble!

    This DJI Gimbal is a game changer for content creators. Especially those who vlog and often walk or have to record/take photos by themselves. I would advise watching a YouTube video to learn all the controls and features, it is kind of complex. I booked a solo trip to California and captured all my content using the DJI gimbal. I took a hike to the Hollywood sign and although the journey was challenging, the footage turned out smooth & clean. My only complaint is that there seems to be a filter in the DJI Mimo app that makes my skin look more pale than it actually is when used in selfie/front camera mode. It may be something that can be adjusted when you play around the graphics or whatever. That is something I haven’t gotten around to doing.

    I’ll admit it—I wasn’t sure if I needed the DJI Osmo Mobile 6 Gimbal Stabilizer or if it was just another gadget to sit on my shelf. Fast forward a few months, and now I can’t imagine my real estate business without it! Using it with my iPhone 14 Pro Max, I’m capturing ultra-smooth, Hollywood-level shots for my listings. I’ve even had clients ask if I hired a professional videographer (nope, just me and this magical stabilizer!). It’s lightweight, easy to set up, and makes creating content actually fun. For anyone in real estate who wants to make their listings look like a million bucks (without spending that much), this is a must-have!

    Excellent piece of equipment. I bought it for my Google Pixel Pro 6 which is on the heavy side. Had purchased and returned the Insta360 first and this handles better and is easier to learn how to use.

    I really enjoy using the DJI Osmo Mobile 6 as its sleek, user-friendly design makes it easy to handle, and the stability it offers while filming is excellent. It helps capture smooth, professional-looking shots with minimal effort. However, there are occasional issues where the gimbal seems to lose its alignment and starts moving erratically as if it's trying to lock onto a specific position. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it can be a bit frustrating. Overall, though, it’s a solid tool for mobile content creation.

    It’s good and there is a lot of features, but you really have to learn how to use it. Sometimes the tracking ability confuses the stabilizer and it almost binds itself and doesn’t know where it’s at. Could be because it was very cold when I tried it outside, but everything else seems to work great.

    The first OSMO I got was the Mobile 2. It was my first gimbal. It was fine at first but it I had to keep rebalancing it. I can't keep the phone on there because it's a phone and I use it other than a camera. The Mobile 6 solves this. It can "auto" balance my phone. I'm using the iPhone 14 Pro Max with a case. I even have a bluetooth receiver for a microphone and can handle the size and weight. The app works well with iOS. The follow/tracking mode has improved and works well. It folds up nicely and compact. You can use the tripod extension that comes with it or use a different tripod. Warning to Android users, there is no official listing of the app from the play store. You will need to enable third party support and download the apk from DJI.

    I needed a gimbal to produce some good quality video off my iPhone and ended up with professional results ! I was asked to collaborate with a cabinetry company and shoot video clips for a kitchen remodel project I designed and built. It was a breeze! The DJI-Osmo Mobile 6 combined with the included Bluetooth connection and video software worked seamlessly. The tutorials had me up and running quickly and were able to refer back to when I had a question. The depth of control was very good and allowed me to dive deeper into filming. One segment had me filming myself and the "follow" feature allowed me to move and demonstrate my kitchen design features while it kept me in the frame. The gimbal created smooth motion as I zoomed in or panned across shots. Perfect for B-Roll clips you can use for a video. It also was great at taking stills with the built-in tripod feature. All camera controls are by buttons and triggers on the handle (Bluetooth connected to your phone) of the DJI Osmo 6 , start, stop, zoom, etc from the handle as you shoot the video.....Warning ! this gimbal may cause you to daydream about what you would say in your acceptance speech at the Oscars !

    I use it oddly for my Galaxy Fold. And it works great… no issues. I’ve gone on several trips with it… I like all the features that come with it. The way it’s built appears premium… I plan on buying a MagSafe adapter that way I don’t have to use the clamp.
