I purchased this product in hopes that I'd be able to give my iPod Touch a little charge on the go while using it for a Trip to NYC. However after recieving it I opened the box and there is no documentation on how the product is supposed to work/charge. The website only uses pictures when you find anything about it. So needless to say that the marketing group has more say in this than the engineeers or documentation people. I wrote to DLO to find out more if this product can be charged without being plugged into the iPod but they never answered. Additionally, if you do charge it as shown (where the product is 100% always plugged into the Universal Dock Port) you must use a USB to Mini USB to sync your device. As they replace the need for that specialized cable. (This may be good, or it may be bad for some). For me this is a poor design and the cap that hides the mini usb port is flimsier than you can imagine. After unpacking this product I immediately boxed it up and determined that it's not work the high cost. Based on this I continue to look for a charger on the go that continues to support the Made for iPod logo and does all of what this would have done for me!

the jumstart works well for the IPOD Touch 3rd Gen although on the package the 3rd Gen IPOD is not included in the compatability list. A few things i found out that might help someone looking to purchase this: 1. you do not need to have the jumpstart plugged into your ipod to charge. just plug the jumpstart into your computer using the supplied USB cable and a small LED on the jumpstart will illuminate red means it's charging and blue means it's charged. 2. to check if the jumpstart is charged when not connected to your ipod or computer simply press the small circular indentation on the back of the jumpstart and the LED will either light up red or blue. 3. when your ipod battery is low simply connect your charged jumpstart and continue to use, the jumstart will charge your ipod as u continue to use your apps or listen to music it completely charged my ipod in around 2hrs. this is great for keeping your ipod touch charged when traveling. I was able to charge up my IPOD touch twice with a completly charged jumpstart. i have only had this jumpstart for 2 weeks and it's still working i hope it lasts. hope this helps.

It has the longest charge of any of the supplemental batteries I have tried, but it attaches to the back of the iPhone with small suction cups. Larger suction cups would be better; these tiny ones don't hold very well. The entire body appears to me made of molded rubber, including the suction cups. You can also use a standard mini-USB to USB cable to sync with iTunes (a short cable is included).

We have two of these external batteries in our household and wouldn't be able to get through a travel day on the road without it. One nice feature is that when the battery is attached, you can plug in the USB charger and if it's plugged into your computer, you can still sync. On to minus side, it you happen to use an external hard case on your phone, the little suction cups don't want to "stick" to any of the rubberized cases. Recently, my case broke and I removed it and discovered that the suction cups work GREAT against the phone itself. Overall, it's a great reserve batter that can be left on and plugged in while at your desk or at home. and it pulls power from the Jumpstart, first - powering the phone first!

I bought this to extend the battery life on my iPhone. I had been traveling a lot and was struggling to keep my phone alive as I dealt with planes, trains, and automobiles. I found the JumpStart based on the recommendation of a friend. I have used it for my last couple of trips, including one from the US to the UK and have been very happy. With it fully charged, I basically get 2 extra full battery cycles from my phone. One thing I really like is that it is smart enough to use the battery's power before the power form my iphone. Very nice. It will also charge my iPhone while I am using the phone. I have 2 small complaints. 1. The documentation is pretty scant. I solved this by just plugging it in. I also did a couple of quick Google searches, which helped my find blog posts with instructions how to use it. 2. The battery uses small suction cups to attach to th iPhone or case. This doesn't work with my case because I use rubber case. It really isn't a big deal when the charger and phone are in my bag or sitting around. It is a small issues when I am using the phone with the charger attached. If I just hold it the right way and it all works. I was aware of this before I bought it and it was an OK trade off in my opinion.

I bought one and used it for about a month and a half until it stopped connecting to my iPod Touch. Worked great while it lasted. Returned it to Best Buy where they replaced it with a new one. This one worked great until it also suddenly stopped connecting to my iPod or my wife’s iPhone after about a month and a half (just like the original one). Brought it back to replace again, and found out it was discontinued by the manufacturer. Nice product if it would last more than 1 month, but it does not, and it seems the makers found this out as well.

Thin and light but charges iphone only when syncing...should have external power source avoiding need to sync. short battery life after connecting with usb

This is perfect for extending your battery life or charging your internal battery. Very easy to use, no documentation is needed. I tried others and this is the best.

I purchase this for my iPhone 4. On the box it does not say that it's compatiable with iPhone 4 but works awesome. This is not as bulky as others and works awesome with my case. -eLi-
