The piece of equipment is so simple, yet has made the phone into some optical illusion that everyone I meet Is intrigued by. I like it since I can still see phone statuses but no need to be concerned with the screen being damaged. Bonus its durable. Don't let the price repel you, its higher than average cases for price, but form, fit and function, give it extra value that those other high durable cases over charge for.

This case is well thought of and of exceptionally good build quality. Case fits well with the M8. The top flap is made of soft rubber and is quite durable. HTC has shamelessly copied the apple smart cover concept. Screen locks/unlocks with the flap of the case. The flap doesn't hold on to the screen completely which gives the possibility of dust accumulation. Magnetic latch would have been great. The good thing about the case is the retro look it has to offer. The motion sensor of the phone works in sync with the case. The bad thing is it hides the beauty of the phone at the back. A brushed aluminium look like the casemate cases would have been fantastic. $50 is expensive for a hard plastic back and rubber flap. Just got this case from Bestbuy on preorder today. Had 04/10 as my date of delivery but got in store today. Great work Bestbuy.

I purchased the "HTC - Dot View Case for HTC One (M8) Cell Phones - Warm Black" to protect my HTC phone. This case has protected my phone after a couple of accidental drops. In addition this phone case has some features that I did not expect in a phone case. The cover is perforated so you can see the display through the case and you can swipe across the cover to see who's calling and to answer the phone. It also activates the phone when you open the cover so you don't have to open the cover and then swipe across the screen to get into the phone - removing one step. Overall this cover has protected my phone from drops and has some unexpected nice features.

I like this case a lot, the dot view functions are definitely cool and it's nice to be able to take phone calls through the case. While it's not the most protective case, I actually have dropped the phone a couple times while it was on and the phone screen didn't crack so I was fairly impressed. It would be nice to have more options for personalizing the dot view actions and would be nice to be able to tuck the front cover behind the phone when needed. Right now it has a spring which can get annoying (although useful for keeping the phone asleep).

It keeps screen protected. It is soft and not too slippery to hold. It stays on. Easy to read display. Unique and different.

Very advanced design as protection case/ wallet. Sleek slim and modern look. you could read time and weather without taking phone out of case. Marvelous!

The only drawback to this case is that it requires you to open it to use your phone so texting can be a challenge. It does protect the phone quite well and you can see any activity on your phone through the small holes in the cover.

This is a great product and I love how it works! I just wish it was easier to tun the alarm off when the flap is closed!

The case covers the phone well; The dot-view is actually interesting. Con: It leaves dot marks/smudge on the screen.

The selection for HTC One (M8) cases is vey limited. I saw this one in the store on clearance. It was an easy snap on case and love how I can access features without opening the cover.

If you want to use this case, you cannot use a protector. It doesn't sit right on the phone unless the screen is naked. Wish there were a little play in it, because I do like the concept.

this case fits perfect and the the dot matrix display is cool. the only downside is that the case doesn't just stay open like similar ones for samsung devices

First, the case cover matches the phone color perfectly. Some folks thought it was part of the phone. The hardshell back is very rigid and provides a buffer so when the phone is placed on a hard surface, all contact is with the cover. The flip cover works well and stays closed due to the tension in the hinge. I was tempted to add a velcro snap to keep the cover closed but have discovered I didn't need it. Being able to answer the phone and check basic function using the dot reader (let's you see through the cover) is very helpful and handy. I paid a little more for this cover but am glad I did. I only wish the cover could be converted into a stand to prop the phone up when you open the cover as with iPad covers. Be aware that if the phone cover is closed, the media player won't play. If there is a way around this, I haven't discovered it.

I love this phone case because it allows me to use my phone without having to open up the case.

It's a great case overall. There are a few minor complaints with it. It scratches easily if dropped. I have a white streak across the back of it from one drop. It causes the screen to look smudged after use, but overall it does what it's supposed to. Dot View works as intended.

The case has a cool design showing the time, recent calls the ability to call from the case. Also showing holiday themes is a nice touch. As far as protection I've dropped my phone on tile twice I had the case for 4 months but the corners broke now the case can no longer hold my phone. Very poor durability for a phone case.

This is a cool idea to use a phone case. The cutout is perfectly matched. I do like the feature by double tap the dotview case to reveal time/date and weather. But the case is kind of thin and does not provide much protection. After several months of normal use, the back panel of this case has been worn or scratched quite a lot. I did not even drop my phone or abuse it! And it's annoying when you try to use the camera, I can't fold the front cover back (it will block the camera) and I have to hold my phone by both hands. That's not very convenient when you just want to snap some shots quickly, so I don't use this case now.
