This is a great little vacuum. First time I used it, I got 2 lbs of dirt that my last vacuum didn't want to get. My carpet almost looked new. Picks up all the dog hair and everything else I need it too. After reading the reviews when I bought it I had buyers remorse but now that I have used it I would buy it again anytime. This is by far the best vacuum I've ever had. The only problem that I have is that the hose is not long enough. I wish it were longer.

I have 3 dogs-all inside dogs, carpet and tile. I did not know if this small vacuum would do the trick. I was highly surprised. The tank is small, but the suction on this is amazing. We had a larger Dyson Animal and it lasted for years. It finally went out and it was passed the warranty so we decided to go for it and buy this little guy. So impressed. If you don't mind emptying it after each carpeted area, which is nothing, this vacuum is small and convenient. Fits into our hall closet. Still has the extended arm for baseboards or high areas. It also has a nice smooth furniture option that is really easy to use. Really excellent and moves around with ease. You will WANT to vacuum your home. It is fantastic. 10 Stars if they had it. You pay the price, but you will certainly get your moneys worth on this product.

I bought this vacuum just before I moved to a new state, replacing my full-size Dyson. I chose this particular model because it had the carbon-fiber roller (I have 4 large dogs and live in a rural area...imagine all the fine dust on my hardwood floors). The description said that it would do all the things a full-sized model would. I admit that, when I picked it up, I was very disappointed in it's size and the price I paid for it. The canister is way smaller than my other Dyson; it's about half the capacity. I began to clean and just absolutely fell in love with this vacuum (my fiance is even impressed). It's super lightweight and I love the ball. It's really easy to maneuver around furniture. I also like that I don't have to adjust between carpet and hardwood...I just vacuum! I was amazed at how powerful the suction is! My house had been sitting empty for several months, collecting dust. This little vacuum picked up 99% of it! The biggest seller for me on this, as stated above, was the carbon-fiber roller. It picked up 99% of the dust paw prints from the floor!! I was shocked to say the least. This vacuum would be excellent, but there are a few things that I'm not a fan of. The cord is really short compared to my other Dyson and I loved the ability to vacuum the majority of my other homes only plugging it into one outlet. The tool carrier is cheap and cheesy. I usually knock one off in the course of normal use. My other Dyson locked the tools in place. The stand-up mechanism for this vacuum is weak. When rolling the vacuum in stand-up mode to a different area, it often releases the roller with a loud crash to the floor. When standing it up, you hear an audible click, which normally signals that you've secured the handle. Several times I have thought this and the handle comes crashing loudly to the floor. I paid a lot of money for this little sucker and I don't want to break it! Overall, this vacuum is amazing...

The DC50 Animal was much smaller than I anticipated, but a welcome surprise. Easy to assemble, the tangle-free turbine tool picks up the cat hair and my hair better than any other attachments that I've tried. Turns on a dime and lightweight. Pleased with purchase at sale price.

This vacuum is doing just what I wanted...taking care of all the hair my dog is leaving in my house. It is actually fun to use. First Dyson I have owned. Why did I wait so long! It works on the floor as well as carpet. It's light weight and small which makes it easy to store and lift. So worth the $'s.

The suction on this Dyson is greater than any cleaner I've ever used. It is also lightweight and compact. I wish the electric cord was longer and sometimes the cleaner feels flimsy. However, I would buy again and I bet the higher end Dyson are even better.

I have had many other vacuums, including another Dyson and by far this is the best. Great suction power and lightweight and compact. My kids can use easily and take up and down stairs.

I purchased this vacuum when my older DC25 kicked the bucket so right off the bat know that these things don't last forever (of note: it was a refurb when I bought it). These days, what does last forever? Anyway after seeing this on major sale elsewhere I was granted a price match at Best Buy, so do be a smart consumer and bring your research and save: BB couldn't make it easier. The vacuum was easy to carry home while pushing a stroller (I live in Manhattan, too close to cab it) so it's very lightweight. The best quality it has is its ability to pick up animal hair (I have a beagle pug mix) without having to go over carpets more than once or twice. It is also noticeabley quieter than the DC25. The one con is that the nozzle is thicker / higher than the 25 so it doesn't fit under some furniture. Overall, I'm very happy with it as my main concern is pickup of pet hair and dust which this does exceptionally well.

This Dyson is very powerful. I have a Golden Retriever and it picks up her hair great. However I find the ball feature hard to maneuver. It doesn't stand very easy. If you don't stand it proper it will fall over. I also find it lets off a lot of heat. I didn't like that I had to assemble it. The whole thing squeaks. I hope it lasts long considering how much I paid for it.

Love Love Love this vacuum. The Hype is right! I bought this because I have two dogs that shed like crazy( which was a surprise for me since they are both short haired dogs). Their hair gets everywhere, the floors the couches, everywhere. Before this Dyson it would take me at least an hour to vacuum the couches and sweep the wood floors. Now it takes me 10 minutes max and it even feels cleaner than when cleaning with the other vacuum and a broom. This is the smaller version which I love since it is super light and does not take a lot of storage space. I can't wait to get the pet attachment and try that

Reviews led me to be believe would be powerful, would transition from carpet to wood to tile with no effort and be easy to use as bagless with easy empty. It was all I wanted and more and easy to move around. First vacuum I have ever really liked and yes I have long haired pets and it does everything as advertised, although I haven't had occasion to use the grooming attachment yet so cant attest to that feature.

This vaccum is so light weight and easy to set up and use....It REALLY WORKS TOO!!! I had been using our apartment eureka vaccum which I realized doesn't work in an all carpeted house....this proved the vaccum had never really had suction!! Only issue is I am still trying to figure out if there is an easy way to extend the hose and vaccum the stairs...probably is just haven't sat down to look it up!!!

We have had several expensive vacuums. This is by far the best on our hardwood floors and carpet. It is also very light and easy to use on a daily basis. Very impressed with how it cleans right up to the baseboard. Even does a great job on pet hair (we have 3 cats and 3 dogs).

I bought this vacuum about a year ago. I have a large labrador retriever. I needed something to get up the mountain of hair the dog leaves everywhere! I had a decent Bissel prior to the Dyson. It still worked, but I didn't feel it was cleaning as well as it should. I bought the Dyson because of the acclaim. Right out of the box I was impressed. I went through my house and vacuumed twice with the Bissel. Then I brought out the Dyson. The amount of dirt and hair that the Dyson picked up was AMAZING! I always thought that I was a clean person, but holy mackerel! Apparently I was very wrong. I cleaned the whole house and could immediately tell a huge difference. I wound up back on this site because I was having an issue that I thought might mean my Dyson was broken and/or needed repair. I was cleaning in my laundry room (aka Dog's room) and was picking up hair and particles from an old toy. All of a sudden the Dyson sounded like it lost suction and was no longer picking up anything. I went to the Dyson site and walked through the "help" section. It gave detailed pictures and descriptions of possible problems. I found a huge foam-hair-dirt ball clogged one of the ports. Cleared that and now the Dyson is working as good as new again! I love my Dyson!

Before purchasing & Using this vacuum I had many troubles with previous bag less vacuums. However, that has all changed thanks to this Dyson Ball Animal Compact. No loss in power while in use, lightweight, and extremely easy to maneuver. Trust me, the cost IS worth it!

I had shoulder surgery and it is difficult for me to use the big newer vacuums so I was looking for something that was lightweight but still had all the power the big vacuums have. Settled on this model and have not been disappointed.

Works great in all types of floors! Good size, easy to clean and maintain it clean, easy to use although I would improve the hose support to be at the waist level, so it would be easier use the detangle accessory on bathroom floor.

Great vacuum! Feels a little flimsy out of the box compared to our 10+ year old red and grey one (I think they called the red scarlet), but it is anything but delicate. Not as much suction as older heavier models, but way more than most people will need. We use both of our Dysons a couple times per week and this one is much better at getting up and down stairs due to its lower weight – that is why we picked this one up. Yes, they cost more than competitors, but after over ten years without any problems with our old one I believe that this one will last as long and will be worth every penny just like its older brother that is an absolute tank.

scratches easily ,feels like cheap plastic and feels like it is going to break easily ...have to handle gently. Positive side it does have great suction, cleans one time through, light weight not heavy to maneuver.

I love this vacuum. It's light weight and easy to use! It has great suction power, and I love the fact that I could vacuum underneath part of my furnitue.
