I was specifically looking for a small cordless vacuum that I could use for my car. After researching various brands at various price points I settled for the Dyson V7. The Dyson V7 battery last longer than the V6 and the V7 is considerably cheaper than the V8 (in terms of battery life) so i felt the V7 was the best option. On standard vacuum mode I'd rate a 3. The suction isn't great and it seems to leave behind debris which you have to make multiple passes on a battery that last 30 minutes MAX. I feel like Dyson knew they couldn't market a 6-7 minute battery on its own so they added a standard mode to market 30 minutes. With that said, the turbo mode i'd rate a 5. It's FANTASTIC and cleans second to none! The only downside is the 6-7 minute MAX battery life. So id have to rate the overall rsting to a 4. If Dyson offered removable battery packs this would be a solid 5. Their R&D team dropped the ball imo. If you're looking for a small vacuum to use around the house or for your car this is it (As long as you're only cleaning out one or two cars).

This vacuum really helped with my needs. Some facts about this vacuum: - Its not very heavy and very easy to use and clean - Charging doesn't take a lot of time - On the lower settings, it does run for a long time - On the high settings, it runs for like 5 or 6 minutes Even though people complained about the performance issue with the high settings, that didn't bother me at all. I bought this vacuum because I need to vacuum my car and my apartment garage doesn't have a single plug anywhere near for a corded vacuum. And I usually brush the carpets of my car first and then vacuum so actually 5 minutes is more than enough time for me. Besides, the low setting does the job for things like the sofa and my house in general, especially with all the different headers the vacuum has, it makes the job easy. It does come with an extensor that helps to reach difficult places For my needs this vacuum was perfect, if you need high settings for a long period of time, battery vacuums are not there yet, sorry

I feel like i pretty much always have to run this on max to get sand/gravel out of my car's carpet. As a result I never have reached the quoted 27 mins runtime because thats with max switched off. That all said, this does work well on that setting and the included attachments all have a practical use, I switch between them all pretty much. I keep this vacuum in my car now in the trunk and it charges back there each time I use the car, so its basically always ready. If you use this vacuum often the battery life is adequate, but if you let it get too dirty, you'll likely run out of charge before you're done cleaning.

We love Dyson in our house. Our Shark handheld had begun to lose its charge so we decided to buy a new handheld. Having a Dyson air filter/fan already we were familiar with the brand and looked up their handhelds. The prices are intimidating, especially compared to our previous model (a 59.99 device), but the allure of having the quality and power of the Dyson was strong. We are very glad we got it. Instead of getting the regular V7, we went for the Car and Boat, just because of the attachments. We are very glad we did since we didn't have to buy a separate package of attachments. There are still other attachments we can get but the ones that came with this model have so far done all that we've needed. As others have mentioned, if you use the max power, the battery drains quickly but we haven't needed to use that since the regular power is quite strong. The weight is fine and it's easy to maneuver. It's easy to empty out the waste as well. We haven't needed to remove the filter so I don't know how that step will be when we need to do it, if we need to do it. I just used it to clean a small area rug and it worked very well on that since it was so much easier to hold the rug in place while using the handheld vs a regular vacuum.

I initially bought this for my room in my apartment...I know it says car & boat on the box, but it works GREAT for bedrooms as well. It has several attachments which all come in handy for different messes and spills. It uses 2 speeds: one for light debris like dust and then the heavier suction power for heavier jobs, like picking up chunks of things..,mind you, the bay where the debris goes is limited, so keep that in mind when you’re picking up the heavier messes. Get a Dyson vacuum cleaner for that. ;) The only thing I have a complaint about is how long the charge lasts when it isn’t plugged in. Maybe it’s to keep the motor from running hot? Or maybe Dyson is trying to tell me to pace myself? Who knows...either way, maybe another half hour or so on the charge and I’d be 100% satisfied. I highly recommend this product and would definitely buy it again. Buying it on sale was a no brainer for me. It’s well worth the price.

It comes with different attachments depending on where the cracker crumbs are , you’ll be able to attachments to really get down in there It comes with a car charger too which is nice. It makes noise because it’s a vacuum it’s what they do; however, this one is quieter than ones I’ve used before. which is ++++ You sorta hold it like a gun, like from a futuristic society, it has some weight (not bulky , solid) to it because it is a vacumn good ones with good machines will have some weight My only thing is I wish it came with a bag to put all the attachments into or one that held the entire vac with accessories. I am glad purchased at a sale price because the Dyson brand tends to run higher in cost . I think it’s better to spend more to get better quality and use I’ve gone through several cheaper ones that didn’t work properly or wasn’t strong enough , no attachments etc..

This is our second Dyson vacuum and decided to get another one because we loved the first one. The only reason we needed another one was because we used the first one so much that the battery would not charge any more. It's nice and light, and good attachments for anything that need to be reached with a vacuum.

Small but very powerful vacuum. Several attachments, easy to clean. Opening the dirt compartment can be a little confusing, you end up doing what the instructions say even though it doesn't seem to be working, until it does. A little expensive, but very well made.

I have had this product for a bit now. It is pretty powerful compared to the other handheld that I bought. It doesn't pick up dog short hair as much as I thought it would for the price I paid. I understand that I paid for the brand name. If you use it on max suction, it will reduce the amount of battery by a lot. I would like it more if it would give a warning of low battery instead of quit working. I don't care for the air that blows out of it from the handle. I also don't like that you have to hold the trigger the whole time you are utilizing it.

I love this thing and the attachments that come with it make it easy to clean your car or just about anything. Full of power and compact. I wish the battery lasted more than 25-30 minutes before you have to recharge but still worthy of 5 stars.

I don't know what to expect from a device like this. Maybe I'm being unrealistic and small handheld vacuums are just not powerful. In regular mode, this will pick up any loose debris, but the suction is not fantastic. In high power mode, it's amazing, but the battery will not last long in that mode. The device is fantastic, but if there was a way to make the high power mode and battery last longer it would've been a 5 star rating from me.

I’ve named this dude Magneto. Really powerful. He Paris up great with my Roomba so I can get into the crevices and areas it misses. The vacuum has a lot of attachments to help clean narrow spaces, beds, stairs, the car etc and a decent battery life (not awesome but worth the trade off in terms of power). I like to use the hand vac to perform maintenance on my Roomba as well. Once a week to get into the nooks and crannies and clean out the filter. It’s pretty hot vacuum on vacuum action... Anyway, the fact you don’t need a bag and can easily dump the contents out is also great. I don’t think I could have asked for more from a hand vacuum. Very happy with my purchase.

I love this vacuum. It's easy to use and picks up well. The only drawback is that if you use it on high the battery life is extremely short. The regular speed works great though.

I rent my car out for Turo and this vacuum blows my dirt devil out the water.. sucks it back up and destroys it. Lol it makes cleaning my car so freakin easy!! Not to mention using it for spots around the house. Awesome suction even though the noise level speaks differently (not really loud for the power) only weird thing is the filter. Motor is super sensitive (pulsating suction) if the filter isn’t completely dry after washing. Other than that this is by far the best portable vacuum. Heck.. it’s a dyson!

I first purchased this for the efficient emptying mechanism--which is great. But I so appreciate the power (a switch allows trade-off between max power and battery life) and maneuverability that I now own several of this model of Dyson vacuum--not just for the car but for the kitchen, the sun room, anywhere that needs frequent small-scale clean-up. There seem to be attachments for every possible use; the versatility also works well for me.

The vac works great in my car, on my patio, etc. I like having the choice of a longer-lasting regular suction or a short-lived super suction (which I seldom need to use). Love all the attachments and the fact that I can keep it plugged in as it rides in my truck, thus assuring it's always ready for use. Love the design for emptying the dirt. My only complaint is that it's really pricey for what it is.

Dyson products cost the most and are worth EVERY PENNY. These units work exactly as they should. The design is impeccable. The suction - great. Portability - fantastic. I replaced several of my older vacuum cleaners with a Cyclone v10 and it is also fantastic, so I bought this one as a back up for use in other parts of the house, car and basement. Also, you a different set of attachments from the normal stuff.

If you own a Dyson then you should already know exactly how well this will work. I had two hand vacs and they both were not good. Admittingly I spent under $100 on those, and the Dyson cordless is EXPENSIVE, but it's worth every penny. From stairs to the stove it does an excellent job, and once you get the hang of the disposal, it works perfectly.

Dyson won't let you down, the design engineering is amazing as always and the suction power is good. the only downside is that on MAX mode the battery will only last...6 minutes :\ making it run 30 mins as advertised means using the 'normal' mode which is less powerful and takes longer to get the job done. 4 stars only due to the battery run time.
