    Best vacuum I purchased!

Two weeks after purchasing, I am thoroughly pleased with the V8. We just moved into a 2 story home with carpet mainly on the 2nd floor. I wanted something light I can lug up and down stairs, so I decided to go with Dyson. I was apprehensive spending over $400 on a vacuum, but the youtube videos and reviews convinced me. Anyway, I compared all models and decided to spend a little more money for the extended run time and increased suction power. Besides the long recharge time, run time seemed to be the biggest complaint. First run vacuuming 4 rooms was easy and had to dump the canister twice. I love that I can vacuum in a straight line at 90 degrees (behind a couch). I also like that Dyson includes cleaning instructions for almost every part. My assumption is if you maintain this vac, it could last at least than 5-8 years.

The Dyson V8 Absolute cordless vacuum is the best vacuum we’ve ever owned. And we’ve owned the top of the line Dyson upright vacuum, the top of the line Shark navigator, and the top of the line Samsung botvac that cost $999 at the time we bought it. The Samsung botvac is also a great vacuum with lots of power! But now Dyson has done it again with this cordless vacuum with a very powerful motor that will suck your rugs right off the ground it you don’t hold them down with your foot! We can vacuum our entire house off of a single charge too! Comes with all kinds of great attachments including a power head for wood or tile floors, a power head for carpet, and another power head that’s smaller for vacuuming your car or any tight place that requires a smaller head. Also includes several non powered attachments for ceilings and baseboards. The Dyson V8 Absolute makes vacuuming fun! We use ours everyday and it’s so easy to switch attachments, empty the dust reservoir and pop back on the charger! I’ll never buy another vacuum again unless it’s another Dyson V8 Absolute! Worth every penny of it’s expensive asking price! Once you use it then you’ll know why it’s a $500 vacuum! Unbelievable........ Nice job Dyson!

We recently purchased a Shark DuoClean Rocket (corded) and it was horrible. It barely had any suction power and it was corded. Returned that and purchased this one and i couldn't be happier. This thing is super light, powerful and battery life is quite impressive (even on max). I personally use it to clean my car and it is so easy to use.

So lets start with the major negative: the battery. It is unfathomable that the battery is not changeable. The only reason for this is if the company wants you to buy a new vacuum when the battery dies as opposed to selling a new battery. That being said, the attachments are fantastic. There is not a situation that I can think of the is not covered by one or more of the attachments. That being said, I think there is some redundancy to the attachments but I still like them. This replaced an older model Dyson. This has better suction and is very easy to use. It may be lighter than my previous but I don't use them much, my wife uses it more often. Still. Very good for pet hair and cars. I would recommend this to a friend.

This Vacuum is exactly what we expected. It's very quiet yet powerful. Our old stand-up was loud and still had less suction. It's light weight, but can feel heavy after a 30+minute cleaning. The reasons for 4 stars: it comes with attachments but the base has nowhere to store them, and of course the 599$ price tag is insane. I hope we don't have to use the warranty but I'm confident if we did that we won't be disappointed. But for the price it should come with a 5 year warranty minimum.

Excellent vacuum cleaner. Quiet but strong suction. Soft floor head is fantastic. No bag hassle. Nice charging station - compact and convenient. All attachments easy click-in and secure. Fully charged long enough to do entire house and more. Light, easy to use and the no cord makes it wonderful!!

Make no mistake about it. This little terror tricks you with it’s compact and elegant looks. The relatively quite whirr if it’s jet engine and it’s amazingly nimble lightweight handling. But I can almost hear dirt and dust bunnies scream for their lives when I pull this baby off the charger. Nothing escapes the suction! The max setting is so strong it almost sucks the head unit into the carpet. It’s ease of use has me reaching for it almost everyday. I have never expected anything less from Dyson, but even they, have outdone themselves with the Dyson V8 Absolute

I've purchased multiple cheaper upright vacuums over the years, not wanting to shell out the $$ for a Dyson. In retrospect, it was a waste as they always performed well when first purchased but then start to lose suction/pieces break, etc over time. Plus having to purchase filters even for the bagless ones was a pain. I have mostly hardwood floors with some area rugs so the upright I had did nothing to clean the hardwood floors even though it had a "bare floor" setting. The soft roller brush on the Dyson picks up all the fine dust and larger debris. The roller brush for carpets works just like an upright and the attachments make it easy to clean up high near the ceiling and down low under furniture. One huge plus is this one fits underneath beds and maneuvers with ease to get the dust that was unreachable before with the upright. The portability of the cordless makes it easy to get stairs and move around the house without having the run the cord around and constantly plug into a new outlet when you move to a new room. It's light and agile - I clean so much more often now because it's so easy to just grab it for quick clean ups. I vacuumed with my old upright and then used the Dyson and was utterly shocked by how much additional dust/debris the Dyson picked up, especially on rugs. Really wish I had bought this sooner, you won't regret it! It's truly an all-in-one solution to replace your hand-vac, upright and small vacuum for bare floors.

I really love my new Dyson Bacuum. It is perfect for my vinyl plank floors and Berber carpet. I use it on the low setting and the suction is perfect for me and the battery life is what I expected. With the attachments, I even vacuum the dust from my glass tables and baseboards. Will vacuum the blinds next. It may not be for everyone, but I love it! And I especially love the lightweight (I have trouble with my wrist but this does not bother me) and no cord. I did worry about having to hold the trigger as I vacuumed, but the trigger has an ultra light touch so it's no problem at all.

Cleans well. Very convenient and I'm able to vacuum my whole 1000 sq ft house with one charge. Easy and light to operate. Lots of plastic which is unfortunate. Only aluminum is the extender and the cyclone piece in the filter. Plastic wheels on the bottom of the rollers squeak which sounds really cheap. Bought the v8 cause it's quieter than previous generations.

Before purchasing the v8 I have been using a shark vacuum which I thought was doing a good enough job. What a difference in suction power between the two with the v8 out performing my shark and the added convenience of no cord is a huge plus. I find myself vacuuming a lot more frequently because it's cordless and light weight and super easy to dump out the waste basket. The only negative I would have to say is that it is a bit on the pricey side.

This vacuum is very light and performs just as well as the full size Dyson. (fair warning, it's powerful enough to pull peel and stick tiles up). I love the fact that it is cordless, make cleaning up a breeze. Pricey but worth it. I've owned a full size Dyson for about 7 years and it still works as good as the day I bought it. Only got this one for the convenience of not having to plug up in every room. Battery last long enough for me to vacuum all the rooms (4br/2ba) in my house on normal setting.

We have the corded vacuum from Dyson already, but wanted something that we could grab at a moments notice for a quick clean. This vacuum is great. We got the absolute model because of the soft attachment which is better than the bristle attachment for wood floors. We also ended up with the V8, instead of the V6 even though both get good reviews, because of the larger bin cup and the longer battery life. I am glad we did, because on the max power setting, it only lasted 17 minutes on a charge. The manual says 40 minute on regular mode, so we will probably use that setting from now on, unless we have a tough mess that needs extra power. Although this thing is expensive, I would have to say that it is worth the cost, as it is really easy and lightweight to use, with great suction.

I bought this after our Dyson Ball floor vacuum finally died. I was planning to just get the new floor model but since our apartment is only 1200 sq feet I started to look at these cordless models as a way to save space. I was skeptical that a cordless handheld vacuum would clean as well as the regular floor model. I was surprised to see that this thing actually cleans even better than our other Dyson vacuum. We have a black area rug in the living room and I could tell that this thing pulled every single dog hair off the rug the first time I used it. There was more than enough battery juice to clean our entire apartment in one charge. The best part is I can use this thing to easily clean our SUV that is basically filled with goldfish crackers and cheerios (small kids).

Wow. The Dyson V8 Absolute works great. Easy to use. Lots of power. Long run time. I can do my main floor tile and wood floors (about 1200 sq ft) with out running out of battery. Lightweight. Easy to maneuver. Just like the many other reviews the price is hard to get by. Wait till it is on sale. I am glad I bought one.

We have 2500 square feet with no carpet (except for a few area rugs). We were looking for a good cordless vacuum to vacuum specialty tile and bamboo as well as laminate stairs and the few area rugs. This one fit the bill! Interchangeable heads for the different floor types and attachments for misc vacuuming. I was worried about it keeping its charge (at full strength) while vacuuming the entire house. This one did what I needed it to! Awesome cordless vacuum. The only downside is holding the trigger - but we read the reviews and knew that going in. Overall 5 star vacuum!! Well worth the $$.
