The Echelon Ex-5s has been a great purchase for my wife and I. Setup took about 45 minutes to an hour. We have owned It for about a month and we are both nearing 15 rides.
Comfort- 8
We've never owned an excercise bike before but it seems to be very comfortable in the saddle. The seat is wide in the bike and once you get over the initial soreness of riding the first 4 or 5 times it is very comfortable. There are very many adjustments, you are able to adjust every thing including the handlebar distance from seat.
Flywheel-8
The flywheel is heavy and is great for experiencing that true spin class feel. It's also very QUIET when it's in use the bike makes nearly no sound and you hear a slight humming when you increase or decrease resistance for 1-2 seconds. Also the PEDALS accept SPD clips but also has toe cages. The toe cages are perfect for letting friends try it out and for ease of use.
Classes-8
I've never used the peloton classes but I've watched some of their videos and I think they are slightly better with echelon being in second place. The LIVE CLASSES really help you set a time to work out and the isntructors are great at keeping you engaged and motivated. The MUSIC was apparently sub par before but I've enjoyed every playlist. The SCENIC classes are just thrown on there. I feel like Pro-Form has better scenic rides from what I've seen.
Looks-10
We love the look of this bike and we feel like that is important. Especially since you have to look at it setting in a room all the time.
Screen-8
The screen is always responsive and has minimal glare. The SOUND is okay coming out of the speakers. It's good enough that we don't use earbuds but it does have BLUETOOTH. The screen flips over entirely for the workout portions if you want to do those.
IN CLOSING: This is a great purchase if you aren't wanting to spend the $2500 for a peloton. They both require you to pay $39/mth so it's a wash on the subscription. We were able to get this bike for $999 through a geek squad promotion but we were willing to pay the $1499 and I probably still would have. The bike is very stable and the live classes make me stay motivated as well as the leaderboard and unlocking badges for accomplishments.

Delivered 11/11/23
3/27/24: screen will not go past splash
5/5/24: a tech was able to remotely guide us through a firmware change/update. Bike now works as intended
5/12/24: bike will lose connection to screen randomly
Support says defective Bluetooth module
6/28/24: an envelope arrived with a black box and some cables. No instructions. No offer of a field tech to support
This company does not care about its customers. We’ve been without this bike for almost 5 months now.
When it does work though, it’s nice

This thing is solidly built, and the classes are dope. Not a big fan of the non cycle classes, but the cycle ones are great. I originally thought that the screen would swivel left or right 180 degrees, but it actually flips 180 degrees..fyi. Easy to build and set up. I recommend it to anyone over a way more expensive pelaton

Pelo who? I had my doubts initially but all that was blown out the water when it arrived and I started riding. I love the massive screen, all the programs it offers, the bike has a small footprint, get the professional install it’s worth the money. My only cons echelon needs to update its software and compatibility so I can sync my Apple Watch and allow VR trails other than that the bike is awesome.

Missing the main computer screen and AC cord- company offered to send another replacement but never followed up. For 1500.00 you’d think they’d be a little more concerned about their customers. Make sure all the parts are in it if you’re gonna buy it!

Had the top of the line EX5-S bike about a week now and really enjoying the ride!
Pro's (there are many):
-Many adjustment points to get the most comfortable riding position.
-Shoes straps so you don't have to buy clip in shoes if you prefer to use sneakers
-Bike is HEAVY and feels solid, stay planted even on carpet
-Live classes are a great motivator and there's something for all skill levels
-The included 21" touchscreen tablet is a big plus - it's bright, and the speakers sound good.
-The Echelon Fit app, as far as I can tell, seems to offer all the same features as Peloton.
Con's (not deal breakers):
-Add more fields to app profile so multiple riders can record their bike adjustment settings
-There is no way to turn off the bike - you have to unplug it
-App still seems a little glitchy (freezes a lot) but they are constantly pushing updates
-Allow Apple Watch connectivity
-Bluetooth is just plug and play, but would be nice to expose the pairing function for more control
Bottom Line: If you want the Peloton experience for 40% less, buy this bike.

Echelon VS Peleton

This bike is perfect of youre not looking to spend 3k on a peleton bike. Ive had mine for a little under a year now and I ride it a few times a week. The screen is large and the picture is clear. I love that it has bluetooth so I can connect my earbuds and I love that the flywheel is in the back and out of the sweat zone. And... this bike... IS SO QUIET. I have a 3 year old and this thing doesnt make a peep during naps or early morning rides. Very smooth and stable. Mechanically, this bike is amazing. As far as the echelon app and classes goes, it's definitely not a peleton. Dont get me wrong; it is still a fantastic app, but there are a few things that could be improved. For starters, the setting of the echelon classes dont seem as professional as the peleton. Thats something i was kind of upset about, especially since im paying $40 a month for a membership. On the upside, the instructors are awesome and very engaging. I very much enjoy the classes. The scenic rides are nice but i feel that there arent very many to choose from. Another thing to note is that the display screen can only be used with the echelon app. You cant watch netflix or youtube etc. Those are really my only gripes about this bike. The screen does flip so that you can use it for the HIIT, yoga, and stretching classes. I have tried a few of them and i really have no complaints. Like i said, the instructors are very charismatic and engaging. The resistance levels are just right and make since and the handlebars/seat adjustments are fantastic. I highly recommend this bike to anyone who wants a peleton but doesnt want to pay the price. If you want a mechanically sound, long lasting, and reliable bike then this is the bike for you. But if you want a prettier more functional app then you might want to think about increasing your budget for the peleton.

I have 0 complaints, the only issue with these bikes are the seats. It takes a good while to get used to the harshness. Stick to it. The live classes are so good ad some are pre recorded. You will get a great workout.

I love the convenience of not having to have specific shoes to clip into the bike like with Peloton.

Bike is great. App is glitchy sometimes but they are working on updates to meet the demand and the echelon community and instructors are awesome! Was supposed to come with 90 day subscription-never received info on how to redeem-spent over an hour on call with Best Buy to report and was told I’d receive a code and never heard back. Did NOT include 90 day subscription.

This was not my original choice, I wanted the latest Schwinn bike but as Best Buy allowed me to fix the previous order well, somehow they just had none left in stock to complete my order. That aside, I did some research on this bike, lots of great reviews however; I wasn't excited to know I had to pay a subscription to use many of the monitor features. I had planned on bringing it back. With the 30% restocking fee I decided to use it a bit first to lesson the pain of losing money. I got to admit within a couple of weeks the bike sold itself to me. It's well made (even for a heavy guy like me). It does come with some pre-installed freestyle work outs that do not cost additional. The magnetic wheel offers pretty good resistance up to 32 levels. I wish it offered a tad bit more resistance but, it is much better than most stationary bikes I have tried. The many adjustments make the bike a good fit for me 6ft and my wife 5ft 2in. It's very quiet and the best buy warranty and price for this bike make it an excellent choice!

A good product. Unfortunately did not do enough research prior to purchasing, and found out after the fact that you cannot utilize the screen for streaming (Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, etc) without jailbreaking it and voiding the warranty. Pretty disappointing that a system that has the full functionality of a tablet held back by the company from its full potential. They should honestly just make a stand for a laptop or tablet and get rid of the screen.

The bike is easy to setup. Requires time, however, to figure out how to set up or connect the tablet/screen and the app to the bike and up and running -- The ride is not too bad, smooth and resistance is sensitive -- I realize that, the on-demand or scenic rides are absolutely necessary and require a subscription (free for 3 months).
Otherwise their "freestyle ride" is useless for an expensive bike. So the bottom line is the ride on this bike requires a subscription and there is no need for the tablet/screen to pay extra dollars if you don't have a subscription. Otherwise, a much cheaper bike can do the same job. I am disappointed that this is not mentioned anywhere, including their website and the reviews. I probably will go for a cheaper alternative that requires no subscription.

The bike is very solid and comfortable.
The display is good too. The only reason for a 4 versus 5 star rating is that the Echelon app - which you must use to ride the bike - is a bit "buggy". Echelon frequently pushes updates which tend to fix one problem while creating another. However, I recommend the bike. Delivery communication from Best Buy was excellent.
