If you are looking for an aftermarket backup camera or front camera option, this one is a good one. I used this setup as a front camera on my 2017 Ford F150. Installation is pretty much straight forward. I did watch a video online for some basic instructions, but got everything working over a weekend. I will say, the rearview mirror camera is a bit pixelated, so don't expect an HD picture out of this thing. Also, the mirror does have the option to hookup two cameras if you wanted to. There is no record option which I already knew when I bought it. I hooked everything up with an aftermarket switch (Does not come in the kit) so that the video only comes on when I flip the camera switch. The only complaint I have is that the rearview mirror is a bit loose so, so if you want the perfect position, it may move a bit but then settle into a position afterwards. Likes: Versatility; easy of use Dislikes: Rearview mirror is a bit loose; Video quality could be better Oh, by the way: The lines in the mirror can be removed if you cut a specific wire; If you want to keep them there, know they don't move at all if you are looking for that type of feature.

I got this for my 08 Maxima. The camera has a nice clear image during the day. Night time image is not as great but good enough to know if there is anything behind. The camera has made reversing so much simpler and it does have a nice 170 degree angle view which is better than a lot of other camera's out there. I also like the fact that I don't need another monitor for the video. I had geek squad do the installation. They did a excellent job.

Like it but this backup camera not for my vehicle. The camera location is the problem it blocks the handle for the trunk release either than that I recommend this product

Very useful in busy parking lots. Having the view on the mirror, easy to view.

Good product, but installing is tricky. Attach pictures of wiring. Hope it will help.

Best Buy did a good installation and when the tech showed me how it worked I was satisfied. Even at the time I noticed that the LCD was too bright, but I figured it was just a setting and I could change it later. Well later I read that I can change the brightness, but not on mine. It does not work. Something is wrong and it is still way too bright. The sky is white and I cannot change the brightness. It is the same brightness on every setting. I called technical support for the product and described the situation and he said that they don’t have complaints about the quality of the picture in the mirror. I told him that the sky was white and that the brightness adjustment did not work. He said well you can go back out and Best Buy can install another one but I don’t think that it’s going to change anything. We just don’t have complaints about the quality. Well that’s just ridiculous. It is usable, but it is not working right.

Got it for my wife for Christmas. Works great and she is very happy with it.

I wouldn't recommend this . When I go in reverse it flashes the screen and cut off completely. When I hit the brakes I get the picture attached.

I'd been looking for a backup camera for my car for quite awhile.and this one looked good and reasonably priced at that. A lot of the camera kits found at retail outlets are pretty awful. The mirror straps onto the existing mirror which really looks tacky and the camera is wireless which I've heard is not very reliable. This kit has a real mirror that replaces the original mirror and it is very nicely made, it really looks to be OEM. The camera is small and can be mounted to the rear license plate or mounted permanently. It is wired so there is some work involved routing and connecting the wires, but since that would be true of any wired system I'm not making any specific comments on that. The reason for my four stars is that although I feel the quality of the kit is excellent, the instructions leave a lot to be desired. This kit is clearly intended to be professionally installed. There are several mirror mount adapters included and even a sheet detailing what adapter is used for a specific vehicle, but there is no indication of which adapter is which. They are not identified in any way that I could find. The installation instructions amount to a very non descript wiring diagram and relay diagram for cars that will need a relay to activate the camera. There is no indication of what car would need to use the relay, if, after connecting everything the camera produces a fuzzy or no image, then you need to rewire it with the relay. I had to call the manufacturer to clarify several items in the instructions. I did install it myself and it works as good as a factory system, and as I stated before the mirror looks as good as the factory one. One more comment on the mirror though. The display is very good but the reflectivity of the mirror in daytime makes it very hard to see. At night it is fine. I recently had a car with a factory backup display in the mirror and although the video wasn't as good as this one, it was clearly visible in daytime. To sum up, It's a great system for the price. Looks good in the car but the instructions are wanting and the mirror display could be better in daytime. I can enthusiastically recommend this, especially for the price.

We have a 2012 Dodge Durango but it didn't come with a back up camera. We'd looked around before and Dodge didn't offer any remedy to tie in with the GPS/audio unit. We sat down at Best Buy and they showed us this add on that works through the mirror and doesn't void the warranty in any way. We did lose a few features that work through the original mirror, but they were features we didn't use anyway. The trade off was worth being able to see behind us.

The quality of the camera is really really good. I just love this new thing in my car!! I would definitely suggest getting it installed by geek squad. They have done a wonderful job. They are supernice people and they will take their time to make it look wonderful.

This product is a great quality item. It was relatively easy to install on my 2006 Chevy pick-up truck, except for the cable from the license plate holder to the rear view mirror. The included mirror monitor is easy to see and the camera works well at night as well as daytime. There is no need to have an extra monitor on the dash since the monitor is built into the rear view mirror.

Bought this rear view camera mirror to replace a deteriorating mirror in a 2011 Mazda 3 hatchback. Quality of the mirror is superior to the factory unit. I had it installed but the Geek squad at Best Buy and they did an outstanding job. I would have given this 5 stars but their are a few minor design flaws. First, there is a glare on the mirror that makes it difficult to see the video in bright sunlight even with brightness adjustments. Also, mounting on the factory mounting spot makes the mirror hang lower. This makes the glare worse because you need to tilt it up a little to see out the back window properly. If you have a large windshield where the mirror mounts higher, these may not be an issue.

This is a good after-market back-up camera to add to your vehicle if you don't have one. The picture is a little small, but it made backing easier and safer.

Great backup camera and rear view mirror. The installation was done very well and professionally, and if one did not know that it was an after market item and installation they would never guess that it did not come with the vehicle except for the age of the vehicle. I had it installed on a 2006 Honda CRV, primarily because of a limited range of neck motion due to multiple injuries over the years. It really helps. The one drawback, which is due to the vehicle and not the product, has to do with some viewing limitations because the camera is designed to be mounted over the rear license plate which is located on the door next to where the spare tire us mounted. The tire limits the camera view toward the passenger side of the vehicle. The view to the rear and driver side are great. Originally, the camera was pointed slightly up, so I had a great view from my garage of the neighbor's roof across the street. This was easily fixed by pointing the camera a little lower, which I did by and without the need of any tools. I'm still learning to use the unit, i.e. how far the distance is to the various lines showing in the camera. This I will do when it gets a little warmer out. In the meantime, I can now easily see if there are any kids, dogs or other objects behind my car when I back up. I like it and would recommend it to others. Unfortunately, there was no instruction manual either with the product nor available for download on-line.

Well .. since the spine fusion, I needed a backup camera to help me out when parking and also in backing up to the trailers I use (rural home life). As a result, since my SUV didn't have this from the factory, an aftermarket was desired, and this fit the bill. I will say this .. I went to a local windshield repairer to have the mount for the Rear View Mirror moved downwards (my SUV (like others) has that extra space to hold eyeglasses securely and this does mean that the existing mount wasn't able to hold the new one comfortably and be usable) .. so that windshield place was able to remove the glued on mount and move it downwards enough to make this replacement rear view mirror (With the viewscreen on it) down enough so I could comfortably use the mirror as intended (for night and day driving). I will state this .. there is no problem viewing the backup camera in either night or daytime at all while backing up (it does work!). I've also got to say the Best Buy installer did a great job tucking everything into the panels so that all the wires were hidden as meant to be.

I purchased this and had it installed in my mother's car. Due to her back problems it is getting difficult for her to turn her whole body around to see what is in back of her when she is backing up. It also helps her see if there is anyone walking behind her in a parking lot especially when there is a bigger vehicle that parks next to her and block her view. The guidelines Also help her alot when backing up so she doesn't hit another vehicle or something that may be she needs to back up to.

First, let me say the Echomaster is an excellent backup camera. It works just as it's supposed to. Even at night, the camera works fairly well. The initial installation was not done properly and I had to go back to another location to get it fixed properly. I am a long time Best Buy customer and I was very disappointed with my treatment by the installer at the first location. When I went back to my home store the installer was very professional and he made everything right. It restored my confidence in the company and I will continue to shop there.

The backup camera for my car is quite good and it was installed well by a competent and courteous technician, What was NOT OK was getting an appointment to have it installed. After I bought and paid for the parts and the installation, I was told that I have to make the appointment for the actual service all by myself. I must have made 10 calls, mostly talking to a machine. Once I got to a human I was transferred 4 times, the last person suggested that I call a number I started the odyssey to begin with. I was all set to go back to the store and return the item, but some kind of kind soul made an appointment for me. From that point it was smooth. The installation was made by their division "Geek squad". The website where they recommend to go to arrange for the install does NOT have provisions to install backup cameras. I guess they mainly install audio equipment. They give you a phone number to call in case the service is not on the menu, but basically that peat of the system does not work. In any case, it took me two weeks, many phone transfers, endless repetitions of my request, suggestions to go and visit the website again etc, etc. But, after I did manage to have the part installed, it works well,

Ok, this Camara an backup is amazing! I got one for my husband for his Van an he loves it! My son just got his first an since his car didn’t come with a backup camera We wanted him to feel safe backing up, especially since he is still on our Ins. Honestly it’s the best the fact that it’s in the we are view mirror and that’s where you need to be looking anyways, perfect, an so is the quality.
