These are great if you have a larger home. Our home is about 4200 sq ft. I have one in 4 rooms now and with the mobile device I can see where the entire house is. Picture attached. These additional sensors help you get better control of your home and equalize your comfort no matter where you are.

We are very happy with our ecobee4 and the sensors. It functions just like the Nest but better with more options such as Alexa, sensor for each room, includes two but I purchased 4 more. The sensors really work. We use the follow me feature and every room that is occupied is the temp we set.
Pros: It works, it is fun, and saves on energy costs! Another pro is the sensors! I have sensors all over my house and use them to help get the most accurate average temperature reading of my house. I love the fact that they can detect if a room is unoccupied and therefor will focus on making sure the rooms that are occupied are at the desired temperature. The sensors can also be used as a motion detector. Amazing!!!
Cons: the Nests app is more responsive and with little to no delay. The Ecobee app is delayed about 30 sec or more. I’m hoping they can fix that with future updates.
Overall it's a fantastic product. If you want to upgrade your thermostat from Basic thermostat or even Nest like we did. I highly recommend this.

Great Accessory

Just to be clear, these are an accessory! If you don't have the Ecobee thermostat...these have no purpose.
That being said, these are epic! Paired with an Ecobee thermostat, they help that device sense the temperature in your home or facility that much better.
But wait, there's MORE!
With the help of the thermostat, they also become sensors for WINK!!!
They appear in the sensor panel. Both as occupancy sensors and as temperature sensors!
It's a great quick way to check the status of your home and you can create robots and such!
This was an unexpected surprise and may help justify your cost.

These sensors are a great addition to the single sensor for the ecobee 3. the more sensors that you have, the more control you have over your house. For example, I have a sensor in our nursery, bedroom, kitchen and thermostat in the living room. At night, I have the thermostat only taking into account the nursery and bedroom. It constantly averages out the temperature in those two rooms regardless of what the temperature of the kitchen/living room is. Works great for our purpose.

A Necessity for larger one unit homes or upstairs

I purchased the Ecobee 3 - absolutely the best. I was really taken with the additional remote sensor, which actually contains 3 sensors - temperature, humidity, and motion. It allows the thermostat to get a true picture of the climate in your home because, along with the base unit sensors, you have readings from multiple locations.
I have 2 units, and I have 2 Ecobee 3s. Upstairs, the temperature is very tricky to manage - or should I say was tricky to manage. I purchased this additional pack of sensors because the bedrooms and bonus rooms have inconsistent temps. Adding 2 additional sensors increases the scope of my averages for the climate, and allows the Ecobee to know when more of the upstairs is occupied or not when determining what the experienced climate is - if I'm in my room and the temp in there is 78, but 75 in the other rooms, the AC pops on to cool me off.
If you have a single unit in a larger home, or if you have an upstairs that has aim over the garage room or varying temps, these things will help your Ecobee be even more accurate and efficient in keeping an awesome climate in your home.

Multi Room Thermometer

Like many larger single story homes ours has a single zone, and thus uneven heating and cooling. In prior homes we had multi-zones reconfigured/retrofitted... We purchased the ecobee3 and added four remote sensors (so there's a total of the thermostat plus 5 sensors) such that each bedroom, living room & kitchen/dining area are monitored. The result is "okay"... As there are no physical zones, the HVAC pumps AC or heat thrui all the ducts when it's on yielding somewhat uneven temperatures (nothing you can do about that without reconfiguring the house/system) but it does a great job of making the rooms more balanced and generally being within a single degree each other (i found it works best when I "disregard" the actual thermostat location reading and use all the other remote sensors for my At Home & Away settings and it works great; I use only our occupied bedroom sensors for the sleep settings)

Useful addition to Ecobee3

This is the main reason I chose Ecobee over Nest. Both are equally good but, these additional sensors are value addition and helps to a great extent to average out the temp and also track occupants.
Only one issue I had which was main one :) - it wouldn't track occupants. After research and talking to ecobee customer support (which btw is very helpful) figured out that certain coded sensors (KZVB, LCCJ, L35B) had their face cover inverted obstructing the actual motion sensor inside. A simple fix of removing the face plate and setting it in right order solved the issue.
Useful and I am glad I bought these.

These are great, low cost way to have your Ecobee be more aware of your house, especially with the Master on a different floor than the Ecobee. Small size and multiple mounting options is great.

Extra Sensors

I'm a bit disappointed at the cost of the additional sensors but it's easily offset by the fact they even exist. This is what convinced me to get an ecobee over a Nest. They are really easy to pair with the thermostat, small and inconspicuous. They seem sensitive enough and have helped provide additional comfort in other rooms. They recently updated their thermostat firmware so you can control which sensors control the different comfort settings throughout the day. I would definitely purchase more if I needed to add more "zones" to my home.

I have purchased this additional sensors after using the Ecobee3 unit for about 4 Months . The system works great as described and serves the purpose.
One downside is Without Internet connection it is no different than regular cheap thermostats.

Great addition to ecobee3

I added a pack of sensors to my new ecobee3 to enable occupancy and temp sensing in additional rooms. They have a 15' motion range, so keep that in mind when placing them. They seem to work at a good distance from the ecobee3, but if you have a sprawling ranch with a single zone, you may hit the limits (45' per docs).
Note: sensors shipped in Nov and Dec were assembled incorrectly. This impacts the occupancy sensor. The fix is very simple, rotate the faceplate so the sensor lines up with the window. You can tell by looking at the serial number sticker on the back. It should be on the same edge as the window. If not, you need to fix it or call support.

We have small condo and initially didn't think we needed the extra sensors. But after putting one the bedroom, one in the living room and one in the kitchen, we don't know how we lived without this. We both are usually in the same room, but always yell at each other to change the temperature when cooking, watching TV or sleeping. Now the thermostat does it all for us!

I purchased the ecobee remote sensors to pair with my ecobee 4 smart thermostat because my home has thermostat in an area that is near an entrance and exposed to direct sunlight all day. The AC was constantly running because that room was always warm and the rest of the house freezing. After setting up the ecobee 4 thermostat adding these extra sensors (the ecobee 4 has one included as well) was extremely easy. I just removed a plastic tab that allows the battery to make contact and immediately the thermostat knew I was adding and asked to verify I was pairing the sensor. I named it to match the room it was to be placed in and it started reading the temperature immediately. This could not have been any easier. After making a schedule for the AC on the ecobee 4 and a few other simple settings through the ecobee app I was up and running and there are no more hot and cold zones within my house.

I have been a big fan of Nest ever since they emerged onto the scene. I owned both 1st gen and 2nd gen thermo's. One key piece was missing from Nest that ecobee struck on, remote temperature/motion sensors. This little feature had worked out great for our home, due to the fluctuating room temps. I work in my home office daily and love the "follow me" feature of the ecobee. It works great to reach my set temp just for my office.

Work great for monitoring temperatures throughout your home. The sensors cone with the battery preinstalled, just pull out the plastic piece and the sensor is ready to pair with the thermostat. The sensors can be mounted to a surface, or they come with a clear plastic stand for each sensor. Mine are all just sitting on the sensors bottom edge (the dirdctions indicate the sensor should be situated with the white sensor window in the upper left). Pairing the sensor with the thermostat was very easy and you can enter a descriptive name for each sensor. Basically, you have the thermostat search for the sensor and select it once it appears. I have installed a sensor in each room of the house and they are all reading within 1 to 2 degrees of each other. Helpful in balancing the heating/cooling to each room.

2 additional sensors for the Ecobee3. Allows for better control over your home comfort by giving a better picture of what the true temperature is inside the home, not just what it is in the dark hallway the thermostat's located in. Also allows for better use of the smart home/away feature and the Follow Me feature.

The main selling point of the ecobee system is its integration of remote sensors in the climate control for the entire house. Having a two story house with only one thermostat is plain crazy and with these sensors the Ecobee system can try to regulate a whole house temperature instead of having the upstairs blazing hot while the downstairs is freezing cold.

These additional sensors make the Ecobee thermostat work even better. Your able to view the temperature of each sensor on the Ecobee thermostat or app. Having additional sensors allows the Ecobee to focus on certain parts of your home. I have a 2400 square foot home and now have three remote sensors. Having two additional units is great. Doubt I'll need any more.
