O.K., before any of you who may be IT professionals have anything to say on the matter, let's just say that the eero PoE Gateway was a plug and play dream (albeit with a little friendly assistance from the eero helpline). SITUATION: Having recently upgraded from 1Gb to 2Gb service, I purchased the TP-Link TX 201 ethernet card and the TP-Link TL-SG608S-M2 2.5Gb unmanaged switch. So, I'm thinking that the following setup will give me 2Gb+ wired and wireless: ONT -> switch -> eero 6e. However, a FIOS ONT will not play well with this setup. It seems that the ONT signal *must* pass through the eero 6e before you can connect to an unmanaged switch. If you're familiar with the eero 6e, then you know what the problem is: one 2.5Gb port with an inexplicable 1Gb pass-through, effectively limiting all of my wired devices to the same 1Gb speed. Having already made several support calls and chats with my service provider (which ultimately ended up with an in-house tech consultation -- and to absolutely no avail, unfortunately), I remained undaunted. I knew that the eero 7 had 2.5Gb ports in and out, so I could pony up about ~$600 and solve my problem immediately. Even though I was able to determine that I might be able to set up an ONT -> managed switch (with VLAN settings) -> eero 6e, I couldn't find any well-presented online tutorials to encourage any pursuit of that path. That being said, I ultimately discovered that the eero PoE Gateway could be used quite successfully with a FIOS ONT service. Having confirmed this with my service provider, I ponied up for the aforementioned (after returning the TP-Link TL-SG608S-M2, of course). Sure, the eero PoE Gateway set me back ~$400, but it beat the price tag of the eero 7 by $200, so I felt emboldened. My *only* caveat? There is no documentation included with the Gateway to guide you. eero's online instruction sets did not directly apply to my situation and did not yield the desired results. So, even though you *may* have to call the eero support staff for guidance, I had a very pleasant experience. Communication was very clear every step of the way and I was able to get my network "up to speed", so to speak. Yes, I could have spent a few more hours watching way too many YouTube tutorials until I became well-versed in the ins and outs of managed switches -- and, in the process, I probably could have saved myself another $150. But, the eero PoE Gateway simply *WORKS* -- and without the need to go under the hood and configure VLANs. Cheaper than therapy! ;)

Setup was very quick and painless with the Eero app. Coming from an existing Eero network made the process seamless and easy. As soon as I completed setup and connected my 4 hard line connections, the lights immediately started indicating which speeds I was getting to each device. For a network switch with 2 - 10 gb in ports and 8 2.5gb ports out, I am able to get high speed internet throughout my home with no issue!

Great way to boost your speed with your home internet. I used this to get extra ethernet ports for game consoles. Works great with the eero 6E router. Make sure you update your router before you update the port switch.

Does as it should. Clean eero aesthetics per usual and easy troubleshoot. Spot on! Albeit, priced on the high side.

Really like how it gives you the option to have the eeros more discrete in the house. Allows more room and doesn’t create eyesores all around the house.
