Compact and well controlled sub

Compact, smart looking, punchy and well controlled sound. It doesn't provide the ultra low frequency rumble from top 12 inch subs, but it is sufficient for most room. And it is able reveal some details and texture in the low end. The EQ is easy to use and helped to mitigate frequency response dip due to my room effect.

More watts for the money than most other major brands. One big reason why I didn’t give five stars because it is completely controlled by Bluetooth, no control knobs on subwoofer. Overall sounds really good.

I decided to return the Definitive Supercube 2000 I bought first and maybe buy a Supercube 4000. The Magnolia here didn’t have it in stock, so I decided to go on a limb and buy the new Elac Subwoofer. I have a pro cinema 800 system in a medium sized room. The Supercube 2000 filled the room easily with headroom to spare. My complaints with it was the volume was on the back only for material adjustments, movies/music etc. the gloss finish was hard to keep clean. I hooked up the Elac and downloaded the app and tried to set it up, no go. I called Elac and turns out the software was for older 10SEQ. So I had to wait. Out of the box it plays flat and 50% volume which is okay but not the purpose of the app features. They could sense my frustration and looked into iOS app and sent out a 2.0 version a couple hours later, and called me back to let me know. I set it up and tweaked to my taste. It’s by far the best 10” Subwoofer I’ve owned. I love the remote app and ability to tweak the volume and sensitivity of when it come on, so I don’t have to crank to get it to turn on or Boost lfe signal. The microphone auto eq setup is straight forward and if you don’t like the results you can delete them by holding little black button above lfe in plug on woofer. I can’t recommend it enough for the quality and finish of it. Make sure the app is open, Bluetooth on, and the Subwoofer is on and you will get the option to pair immediately

50% off at Best Buy? Now I know why.

I believe Elac/Best Buy is trying to unload these with the discount Best Buy is running. .
1. The app control app is very buggy, and it's aggravating as it can't keep a connection to the subwoofer. Especially since that's the only way to control/calibrate it. If it had knobs and switches as well I'd probably keep it. But why would I want a subwoofer that I can't control and adjust?
2. It really isn't that powerful. When I was able to access it after calibration, I tested it with some bass heavily movies. It was weak, and for the record I'm not wanting to shake my walls or anything. Just some bass to fill in for the low points.
They say you get what you pay for. It's not worth the almost 50% off list even. Don't fall for it. Back it goes.

First off, 4 stars for a very good reason. I have hardwood floors and the speaker only came with metal spikes for carpet. This thing moves around allot on hardwood floors.
Second, the box was rattling really bad, right out of the box. I figured it was vibrating against the floor. I had felt pads that I put on the bottom that I hoped would stop the rattling and keep it from moving around.
When I turned it over the base was loose, extremely loose. I took a screwdriver and tightened the base down. Each of the 4 screws turned at least 6 times or more. I'm surprised the base even stayed on it was so loose. This was very annoying to say the least.
We'll the rattling stopped but it still moves around. It moves so much that after a couple hours it's basically rotated 45°.
I'm really disappointed it didn't come with rubber isolators. If it was supposed to, they weren't in my box. They would have been missing from the factory because the box was still sealed when I bought it.
Other than that it's amazing for the price. You can really tune it to you preference.
One other negative is the app is not intuitive. I have yet to find a detailed how to for all the settings in the app.
It is really nice to have so much control though, that can't be understated. So much better than just having a knob or two on the back.

My ears are relieved from so much burden. First of all I regret not buying this one( at leat previous edition)when I upgraded my audio equipment. What a difference now I realised I miss judged my Elac amplifier due to my current bad subwoofer( Jbl arena 100p of course at 200$ sale price it was ok). Now overall sound quality improved 30% not only low frequency however bad subwoofer spoils entire bandwidth sound quality I can say. This one high quality output with precise and quality smooth low frequency sound.
Now i felt very happy about my entire setup. I tried many others while upgrading I strongly recommend go with Elac Unifi bookshelf, amplifier and this subwoofer with out burning huge money.
So convenient having app control .i was not confident about app control. It working flawlessly . Download right app which name ends with 2.0. At this price none of them can come to next to it . Example: I played audio song ‘say something justin timberlake’ trough Apple TV . I heard sweet low bass which I never heard before With clarity

What would you expect from an Andrew Jones designed speaker, he is a legend! I paired the sub with the Debut 2.0 b6.2 bookshelves for a 2.1 system. Dollar for dollar this is the best system I have ever owned (and that includes various speakers that were over $1,000). I could go into all kinds of audiophile drivel but I will spare you the nonsense. Just go listen to the bookshelves in a Magnolia room and see if they have the sub to match you won't be disappointed. And if they are on sale - it's a no-brainer. By the way, the app for the sub is fantastic. Final note make sure you are familiar with your receivers' digital signal processor (DSP) and that the crossovers are set appropriately with your sub, the app will also come into play here.

Wanted a new subwoofer. Found thus one on sale. Tried it and so glad i made this purchase. I Control it by IPhone app. Setup is easy and sound is mellow. You can set bae fir Denita, music, flat and for night listening. Set phone in front of speaker to calibrate it. Then move to listening position in room and it adjusts automatically for the listening position. You can raise or lower volume by adjustment in the app. No need to use receiver controls. Awesome purchase. Highly recommend it to audiophiles.

Great sub for ELAC B6 bookshelf speakers. Very easy to set up with a cellphone and Bluetooth. Tremendous improvement in the soundstage of my system and smoothing out the room’s effects on the sound. Highly recommended, especially considering the ease of setup and calibration.

I have this sub matched with Elac UniFi's. Very easy set-up with the app and good match and size for the overall system. When I configured the system using the receivers room correction I had to turn down the bass settings so I can't vouch for the accuracy of the auto config on the app but after some tweaking it sound great and is a seamless addition the system overall.

High quality, great sound. This adds a fullness to the sound of all my applications, from games to music to movies. It's rich, bold deep bass adds thunder to my room and evens out the highs. This is a high end speaker and performs like one. The app is easy to use and very useful in set-up.

I reallyy like the sound of this 10, but I did end up returning to get the Bic f12 instead. The 10 just doesnt produce enough lows (obviously)
Id def recommend this sub if all u want is a 10, sounds nice and tight and even bass. Pretty good and easy to use app as well

Most of the poor reviews of this unit are due to User Error. Bluetooth needs to be enabled on your phone. I've had ported subs that shake the walls. I've also had sealed subs. This is my first passive radiated and seems like the best compromise for music and movies. This is a cohesive sub that will blend with your mains, not a bomb going off in the corner.
It's important to note that the EQ result of the app is stored in the sub, not your phone. You don't have to worry about losing your phone or deleting the app... Your sub will retain its calibration until another calibration is performed or a reset (hard button on back of sub).
Other features I like are the EQ Modes for Night/Flat/Cinema/Music which are simply activated on your mobile device. Handy for "on the fly" efforts to be considerate to neighbors :)
EDIT: To update firmware download the update from Elac's webpage. Unzip it and drag the just the hex file to the usb stick. Unplug sub and insert usb. Wait until blue light stops flashing and remove usb. Current as of 8/22 is Firmware v1.1.956.18
You can confirm your firmware version in the app under "about". This is especially important if you have 2 subs too get equal in performance. I'm including this because I bought my subs a couple years apart and differing firmware has differing output.

Had my heart set on an SVS sub, but this was in stock. I love large volume and wanted one sub to fill the room. My current sub had finally gave up after years of mediocre bass during these terrible times of the Covid shut down. So I was buying without testing in the sound room. After setting it up, I was disappointed, until I downloaded the app to control it. Wow, it fills my whole house, maybe my neighbors too and it’s not even broken in yet. Now I’m looking to replace my aging Polk Rti8 fronts and definitely will have ELAC on the radar.

Picked this up to add some additional low-end to the music setup in my secondary system that's quickly turning into my primary system. The sub pairs nicely with the Focal Aria 906 standmounts and it was easy to dial in once I found the best spot for it in the 150 sq foot space. The auto setup was pretty slick and quick. Bass is quick and tight with no cheap sub boom to replace actual articulation.

This is a great subwoofer for the clearance price that I paid. Installed the app on my phone and it works fine. Looks like the bugs that others complained about have been fixed. I'm glad there are no knobs or controls on the back of the unit where they are hard to reach.
