Induction cooking is popular everywhere except USA due to huge price tag. However, Electrolux Induction range is worth the money. Boiling milk, cooking pasta, etc. is so fast. Most of the all-clad, calphalon stainless steel cookware work fine and TFAL started making induction base cookware too. It is an investment if you have non induction cookware like aluminium, copper or 18/10 stainless steel. You will not regret upgrading to this. No burned spots, ceramic top cools down fast for easy cleaning. Cons: There is no floor model to see and takes time to deliver. It would be nice to have timer in the induction too. Oven is great too. Convection with self clean and warming drawer etc. I use it for storage too.

Different way to cook but so amazing

My wife and I wanted to get a gas stove, but the cost to run the gas line was as much as the stove. After some research, it turns out that induction actually offers more control than gas. The differences are a little painful though. If your cookware doesn't pass the magnet test (if a magnet won't stick to the pan, it's not going to work) then you will need to buy new cookware. If you are used to constantly moving the pans while cooking (dealing with hot spots from electric burners) you may actually be damaging the stove. Pans are supposed to be centered and not moved. If you start to see a boil over you need only turn down the the power and the boil over is averted. Pulling the pan off of the burner is bad for the stove. Difficult to get used to. Now the awesome. If you want to put the spurs to something, crank up the power and you may be stunned at the responsiveness. Once you get the boil, drop the power to get the most controlled simmer you have ever had. And clean up... It's a completely flat surface that doesn't get exceptionally hot. So things don't burn to the surface. A quick wipe and you are good to go. The convection oven is also great. Heats quickly and evenly, we're looking forward to roasting a turkey, the Easter ham was fantastic. If you are willing to take a different approach to cooking, and either have the pans or don't mind getting new ones, this is just so dang awesome. Buy it.

    Outstanding Range

This is my first Induction Range and I have had it about 2 months now. There is a small learning curve to using one of these, if you have previously had a gas range, the learning curve will be smaller. The range elements heat up very quickly so when cooking with a lid on you pan/pot, never walk away from your food cooking. When reducing the heat, the range elements cool down quickly. The pots and pans being used will become very hot. This induction range comes with many racks, which includes a rolling oven rack and a warmer drawer rack. It also includes a broiler pan and with the purchase of this range, Electrolux will send you a free cast iron grill. The oven is either for regular baking or convection and a broiler which works great. Pre heat happens fairly quickly. You must have pots and pans that work with induction cooking. A great Stainless Steel set is Duxtop and Ballarini is great for non-stick induction cooking. I was a little scared when I purchased this range but I have been very happy with it so far. It is much more energy efficient, a great purchase.

This induction Electrolux range replaces a gas range and I am incredibly pleased. This is a range with many options that will please those looking for control over every aspect of their cooking. It has so many options I am still using the manual and know I haven't found every bell and whistle. If you haven't heard about an induction stove top, know that you need pots and pans that attract a magnet. I needed to replace several of mine. It boils water almost faster than I could get the pasta out of the cabinet. However, it also does slow simmering (e.g. making gravy) very well.

    Great cooktop, good oven

This range is capable of so much more than my cooking abilities. If you have never used induction before it can be difficult to get used to. A small pan on the small burner takes longer to heat than a medium pan on the medium burner. The large burner finds a 10" fry pan to be a little to small and will also take longer. I am getting a 12" pan but I think a 14" would work better. To bad my favorite cookware doesn't make a 14". That said this thing boils water extremely fast but will burn butter in a cold pan in about 15 seconds. You have to learn not to use the power boost setting for starting everything you cook. The oven cooks very evenly but does take a little time to reach your temp. I think it's because the oven is very large. The warming drawer is real nice. It kept a pie just right for serving for over an hour. Nice range but a little pricey.

Moving recently to an all-electric apartment, we had to give up a gas range. After research and discussions with friends we knew that Induction should be the "right answer." Electrolux has delivered with an easy to use, good cooking and looking stove!

Better than gas, heat controls exactly with digital controls. Oven is excellent with no hot spots and is true to temperature displayed on controls. Cleans up easily, really nice that the induction coils do not produce excessive levels of heat.

House not plumbed for gas so got this after reading great reviews everywhere. Works great, as responsive as gas. Bakes great! Magnetic pots/non-stick skillets easy to find now, and not a big expense! After 4, I repeat 4 try's, I went to Sears to purchase. They were able to delivery a undamaged oven in 1 try. Sorry Elk Grove, Ca. Best Buy!

Good Induction Range with minor problems

The Electrolux Induction Range works well - it heats very efficiently and controls are accurate. The downside is that pots and pans must be compatible with the magnetic induction heating elements on the cook-top. Another observation about the ceramic range cook-top is that it scratches more easily than I'd like. The oven seems to heat more slowly than in should, but temperature control is good. The heating drawer glides open and shut with ease when the oven is not in use, but when the oven is heated, the thermal coefficient of expansion seems to cause the drawer to stick and scrape against the bottom of the oven when in use. This is an unfortunate design oversight. We use the warming drawer to store baking trays for the most part, so it's not used very much for anything other than storage. Overall, this is a good product.

Still learning how to cook with convection oven but love the fact that it has a conversion feature until I figure it out. Microfiber cloth is best to use on top to keep clean. DO NOT let anything boil over on the stove - especially hard water. Difficult to get hard water that's been "cooked" onto the top off but is doable. :-) LOVE this stove!

Hey AbundantlySuccessful, thank you for sharing your situation. Apply a few drops of cooktop cleaning crème directly to the soiled area. Rub the soiled area using a 3M Scotch-Brite Blue Multi-Purpose No Scratch Scrub Sponge, applying pressure as needed. If the soil remains, carefully scrape soil with a metal razor blade scraper, holding scraper at a 30 degree angle to the surface. Remove the loosened soils with cooktop cleaning cream and buff surface clean. Hope you find this information helpful! -Jennifer Electrolux

I love the stove. It has all the features I wanted. The reviews on-line were very helpful in my decision and proved to be true. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the difficulty I had getting the stove. Best Buy did not list it as a special order item. At purchase, I was promised delivery within 10 days. It took 35 days to arrive. I will say the Best Buy employees were always kind, but unfortunately they couldn't deliver on their promises. I am glad I was patient, as the stove is wonderful and exceeds my expectations!

5 element induction top boils water faster than gas. Once you get used to settings it's a breeze to use. Oven has regular and convection options. Roast a turkey or asparagus. Comes with multiple shelves. Warmer is great for dinner parties.

I am able to use this stove to brew my beer! I am able to use a 15 gallon brew pot, boiling 8.5 gallons of wort in a respectable time. The oven is beyond what I know what to do with! The warming drawer was great keeping a steak warm while the rest of the dinner was finished!
