So your mini can keep going, and going...

If you do not know how to open the case, then be sure to google for the procedure, in case your instructions weren't shipped with the battery. Unfortunately, opening up the case may cause some damage to the case, possibly bending the edge of it. This, however, is not Energizer's fault, but still a problem come replacement time. These batteries need replacing every 1-2 years, depending on usage; two years if you use your mini two to three times a week. The battery is the first thing to go, and usually the only one. If you notice decreased stamina in your battery, replace it now before you go on that road-trip and find yourself without a functional IPOD.

I will admit when I got the replacement kit I was a little nervous, I wasn't sure if I would be able to understand the instructions and execute them without causing damage to my ipod. The instructions were extremely clear (there were only 5!) and I successfully replaced the battery with minimal damage to the outside covering.
