    Excellent Upgrade for Home Theater

I previously had the Definitive HT 300 Set in a 19x13 room, I found that this set didn't provide adequate sound reproduction for the, I obtained these Energies after purchasing their 6 1/4 Center channel for my existing Def tech system. Wanting to match the build components and dynamic Mid's/highs on this loudspeaker I purchased the pair of Standers, and have been extremely pleased, I also purchased their 12" powered sub and the Mid level bookshelves for rear channel replacements. This setup is currently being powered by a fairly mid line Denon AVR1912. This power plant provides 80Watt's per channel and these speakers are working wonderfully on this limited power system, I did bi wire them already with the bi AMP feature on the denon amp. The bass on these speakers is fantastic deep and rich with excellent mid and High reproduction I would advise bi-wiring these if possible to reduce any EFI or at least run two pairs of speaker wires to to them from the same amp taps on your system. Since I'm using a projection setup with a 100" displayscreen I did have to put these a tad further out to get them configured properly and they are quite tall, but the sound quality and overall look/feel of materials is very price appropriate, as they aren't too expensive when compared to the competition.

when i first connected these speakers to my pioneer vsx-43 receiver they sounded ok but not really great but a few days later i decided to try bi-amping them, that is when they really came to life. i do have a 10 inch subwoofer that adds a little extra punch during movies and music with a lot of base but most of the time its not even really needed, with a bi-amp setup these speakers have a very wide frequency range and great sound quality.

I got two of these on sale for $250 each on Black Friday and I must say it was money well spent. I'm not sure I'd drop $1000 on them but $500 was an easy pill to swallow. There were some issues with the shipping and ordering on Best Buy's part, but the speaker is excellent. I don't know all the technical specs but if you're looking to fill up your entertainment area with sound these will do the trick easily. If you're into bass you'll probably still want to pick up a sub woofer but the one in the speaker will suffice for the average person.

Came in looking at the klipsch kf-28 and left with these. The sales associate showed me the klipsch first and then suggested looking the Magnolia room. I am glad I listened to him. The Energy speakers sound much more full without having a sub woofer. They are a little bigger than what I was planning for the office but the sound quality is worth it.

I went to Best Buy to purchase the Yamaha A-1030 receiver in the Magnolia room. While doing a final sound test to determine if I wanted the Yamaha or the Denon, I discovered these Energy speakers. With either receiver, the sound quality of the CF-70s was awesome. I have to admit that I had never heard of these speakers but the BB associate educated me on this brand & the quality. I proceeded to use the Yamaha A-1030 to test out other tower speaker brands. I was so impressed with the CF-70s compared to brands of similar or much higher price. I decided to buy the Energy speakers & once connected to the Yamaha, I was in heaven! The sound quality improved even more as the hours of break-in reached 100 hours! After a month & a half of use playing a wide variety of music & many movies, I can definitely say these speakers are phenomenal & perform at a level comparable to many of the much higher priced speakers!

I got lucky on this evening when I got more than I could of asked for to my suprise and a "wonderful" and "cute" sales associate made it all happen!!...I was getting ready to purchase a pair of Klipch floor speakers when the Sales Rep and myself both agreed they did not sound very good, SOOOO she took me into the area with the much "higher- end" stereos, tvs, speakers, etc were located and she pointed out some "Energys" that were on display and being discontinued and progressed to fire them up for a listen and WOW huge difference!!....She went above and beyond for me which is really hard to find these days when retail shopping....Super friendly, knoledgable, and got me a wonderful set of spaekers for half price....Thank you very much and good luck on your future endeavors as you will be GREAT!!

I purchased these speakers from Best Buy because they were on sale. Powering them with a pioneer elite 75 receiver it seems to really like the quality power rather than my older kenwood receiver also sounded great compared to the other high end speakers like B & W.

The setup is very simple, just connect two wires in the right + or -- terminal and that is it. Unless you want to split the setup as a bi-amp setup, then it is four wire hookup per front speaker.

    Great Bang For The $

I had been looking to to upgrade from some older speakers in my master bedroom system since I recently updated a Dolby Digital AVR in that system with a new Marantz SR6006 (with Dolby TrueHD/dts-HD Master Audio). I heard these and thought for the money they had a very good balance of performance vs cost. Even better for me when I found a demo pair on sale at 60% off due to an MHT move/remodel, I usually don't buy 'open box' but I felt that for the $ I couldn't pass on them. I hooked them up via bi-wire through a great set of binding posts to the new Marantz and let them run for about a week with a mix of music to break them in (don't think they had much play time at the store). I've had them for about 2 months now and they get better the more I use them. They are solid from around 45-50Hz up and I have been tweaking the AVR settings just to see what might be different. I settled on running them full range (as 'large' in the AVR speaker set up) and crossed over to an Energy ESW-C10 sub (also new & a great deal at one of the stores closing in MN) at 40Hz. So far I've found these speakers to be a great value, they are well built, have a really nice gloss piano black baffle and have better drivers & surrounds then most speakers in their price range (they sound better with the grilles off...and look better 'showing off' their silver drivers with bullet centers and ribbed elliptical surrounds. I also picked up the matching center speaker (the larger CC-10, also got another great demo sale deal on this!) so the front channel panning is spot on and dialogue is very clean & clear (no doubt also because of the great amps in the Marantz AVR). At regular price these speakers are nice (really nice) but for getting the pair for less then the regular price of 1... these things were a steal! They have passed my torture tests for Blu-ray, SACD, DVD-Audio, CD & DirecTV playback & are equally as good for 2-channel as well as they are for multi-channel. They are right at home in a great 7.1 surround sound system. Rock On Energy!

    Amazing Speakers for the Money

Have had them for 2 months now. Phenomenal sound after they were broken in. Took about 2 weeks or about 100 hrs. I should mention that if you like listening to bass heavy music etc.,the frequency response is 34Hz - 20kHz (low to high). You are gonna need a Subwoofer. With that said, the sound reproduction is Outstanding. The woofers sound tight, the midranges offers solid vocal reproduction & the tweeters sound clear without being too bright. They've handled everything I've thrown at them from Movies, Kids Cartoons, Video Games, & Sports to Music - Hip Hop, Dubset, Jazz, Gospel & Pop. These speakers are without a doubt, one of the best values for the money available. If you can get these on sale, jump on it. You will not be disappointed. I'm seriously thinking of buying another pair.

Whenever I have friends come over and they see these 2 bad boys the jaws start dropping and when they hear this they always question how much power does your subwoofer have? when it's not even playing i have the whole line of Energy speakers and this is the soul of my system.

Awesome Speakers for the price I paid. Head to your local magnolia, and make sure they don't have any new in box. Then ask for their floor models. Because You cannot beat the price for quality of these speakers.

I just love these speakers. The bigger 6" woofers allow for greater bass and I didn't have to spend a lot of money. I was previously using some bookshelf speakers for my main speakers and just wasn't getting the room filling sound I was looking for. With them handling a great amount of power I am not afraid to turn up the volume. Definitely work every penny I spent.
