Epson ET 3600 - Printing looks very good, excellent quality so far.
However, when first printed an image there were lines across the image.
Did some maintainance and seems to be printing good now.
Could run a little quieter, seems very loud when printing.
Would recommend this printer. Like the econ tanks that will last a long time.

Truly disappointing.
I purchased this Epson - Expression® Et-3600 Ecotank® Wireless All-in-one Printer based on positive reviews to replace my PIXMA 880 that died after years, but I'm returning it after one day and am going to continue to research and buy something different.
so this is just my experience, during it's first outing printing Christmas letters and mail merge envelopes.
CONS:
1. Print quality sucks. If one-off print: okay, but nothing to "wow" about. But after several prints, think blank lines appear where the print-head, not qute lined up, travels across the paper. (I used Epson bright white paper, too--not impressed with that either.) See my attached pictures. If your profession requires any type of flyers--to be made in a pinch; you will look stink amateur with these printouts.
2. Ink smears on paper. We folded the Christmas letters, and even after they dried 10 minutes, the ink smeared when folding the paper by hand. That didn't happen with my HP or recent Canon Pixma.
3. Occasional roller ink transfer/smear on to envelopes when printing envelopes. (see picture)
4. VERY *expletive* finicky paper tray with envelope production. About one out of five envelopes failed to feed correctly and either jammed or went through without printing. So, then one gets to compare their list of 100 names and see if the envelopes actually printed. And as the tray only holds about 15 envelopes, when you grab them and start stuffing, they will not be in exact order for easy reference. Also, the tray to catch printouts unfolds into three parts and sits right about the paper tray. So when it jams, or other faults. You have to fold up the print-out tray to get to the paper in tray--which gets really annoying real fast: standing over the printer for it to fault and play with the trays. You WILL NOT be able to hit "print" for about 30-50 printouts and multitask something else; your time will be consumed with standing over the printer and fixing feeding failures.
5. "PAPER TRAY EMPTY" even when it's not. This epson had a hard time recognizing when there was less than 5 envelopes in the tray. You may find yourself screaming at the printer: "you are NOT out of paper!" I did.
6. So for mass letter and envelope printing; this printer sucks the big one.
7. Flimsy paper guides in the paper cassette. Epson tried to keep weight down; but these parts feel super cheap and I don't need to wonder how long these parts will last, because I'm returning it.
8. Paper-in tray: way too little capacity. You will always be putting in paper, unstowing and unfolding the three part print out tray sitting just above it; then re-folding and stowing the print out tray; unstowing and re-filling the paper tray. Wash, rinse, throw the printer out, but keep the the bathwater. It almost became my new frisbee with all the feeding/printing faults and folding/unfolding.
9. Loud. *expletive*! it's a loud, clancky machine!
10. Takes a long time (30 minutes) to initialize and my Windows setup took a couple times; downloading drivers from the Epson site.
11. Ink; I bought it because the ink is supposed to last a long time--but I won't find out; and again it's poor quality. One must be VERY careful not to get it on one's fingers or spill it when filling.
PROS:
it's lightweight and fast, and doesn't have a big footprint.
SUMMARY: sucks for serious work and especially envelope production; maybe satisfactory; but not awe-inspiring for one-off work. It's a $400 printer that behaves like a cheap $69 printer.
Can't recommend it.

The only thing i don't like about this printer is that it doesn't have a feeder where i can put pages of papers in it to copy. Instead, i have to open the lid to make a copy of multiple pages one-by-one.

As an owner of a Canon PIXMA-PRO 9000 printer, I purchased the Epson primarily because the inks are affordable, and I now have a general-use printer. My Canon has been used to print photographs to display at gallery showings and sell plus to generate proofs for publishing. It prints up to 13x19 inches.
While not expecting miracles, I found the Epson ET-3600 able to print quality photo images coming close to the Canon. I have a rigorous test print file that I use for that purpose. The ET-3600 is not perfect as a photo printer, but if you print on a high-resolution glossy paper (I love Costco's Kirkland glossy inkjet photo paper--it rivals or exceeds any other branded papers at 60% of the price), you will get results that come very close to a photo-quality printer. The only caveat here is that you have to reload the tray and set the printer for the type of paper you're using. It's a little inconvenient, but not impossible. I think the average person printing on good glossy paper in high-res mode would not be able to distinguish the quality from a professional color printer.
What's great about the ET-3600 is that it delivers quick output, and from browser-based web sites, text quality is excellent, and if the images on line are higher than 72 dpi, you can get good output. I like the ET-3600 for making contact prints of my photos--it's quick, and it beats running the Canon in terms of ink usage and cost.
The printer was easy to set up. I got no inks on me, and after it's priming, it was ready to go. I connect to it via Ethernet, though I set it up from one of my servers via USB. Though you don't have to do this, I recommend giving it a permanent IP address, e.g., mine is set at 192.168.0.12. (I have laser printers on x.x.x.10 and x.x.x.11.) This assures that other computers on your network can easily find it every time. I can connect to the printer wirelessly through my router--I do NOT connect wirelessly directly to the printer--though you can. I leave this feature disabled for security reasons as I live in a dense neighborhood. I also recommend using the disk that came with the printer to set up drivers for your operating system. The network set-up is easy as the software goes out on the LAN to find the printer, get its IP address and set up the driver--even easier if all you use is USB. But plug the printer in and turn it on BEFORE you install the driver! Why do you want network operation? Because it keeps the wife happy as she can print to it as easily as any of the other network printers I have.
I have used the copy mode of the printer, and it's just fine. Scan is OK if you're doing non-critical work. When I want to scan film, I use my Epson photo scanner. Also, in case you are installing your printer on Linux (Ubuntu), you have to download the driver for the ET-4550 (none listed for the ET-3600) and use the Web-based Linux (local) printer setup--don't use the desktop "add printer" icon, or you will get some weird looking text characters. There are instructions on line. So fortunately, it's not much of a struggle. By the way, Epson has Linux drivers for the Scanner portion of the printer, and results are good. Finally, output on Linux is the same as on Windows.
One additional thing. I could have mail ordered this from one of the well-known stores, but since Best-Buy is 15 minutes from my house, I have the convenience of taking the printer back if something goes wrong. I have the two-year replacement plan, so with most electronic devices, if it survives the first month to six months, it should keep on going.

Great printer
Easy to set up (just be careful while filling the cartridges).
Instructions are easy to follow
Prints very well and fast
Comes with about $100 worth of ink
Traded in old printer and received $50 off
Don’t know yet if the ink will last 2 years
Only CON - a little noisy
Would have given it 5 Stars if it was quiet.

I've tried many "Feature packed" inexpensive printer deals over the years only to end up recycling them after a few years. Slow printing, poor print quality, expensive low yield ink hogs. Difficult set-up, unreliable wireless connection, noisy printing, etc.
Well those days are over. I stepped up to the plate and invested in the Epson ET-3600 and couldn't be happier. Easy set up. Fast printing. Great photo printing. Wireless, mobile phone and airdrop printing. Comes with 2 year ink supply. Goes to sleep on it's own to conserve energy. I just wish I had bought it sooner. Do yourself a favor, don't buy another cheap printer, grab an Epson ET-3600 now while their on sale for $299.99

I absolutely love my new printer. I work from home and sell products online from many different apps. With this printer I no longer need to turn on my computer just to print out a label. All I do is turn on my printer and print from my android phone. The setup was super easy. The instructions were easy to follow. I didn't get any ink spilled anywhere while trying to setup my printer. This is the best investment I could've made. Although a little on the pricy side, it will definitely pay for itself since it comes with 2 years worth of ink.

This Printer SAVES us money and effort BIG time in INK. You only need to REFILL the INK (NO need for cartridges-it helps our planet) of it after two years or more depending on how you use it but for our application, our kids use it always for their school homework and assignments as well as our occasional use of it. What else can you ask for it? Your money is worth. The print quality and speed is great compared to other brands. The functionality and features are best suited for all your daily needs in terms of convenience and ease of use. WE LOVE it. I HIGHLY Recommend this to ALL..

This is a review for the Epson ET-3600 EcoTank that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”
Other than having some minor problems syncing my iPhone to it, it was a simple hookup and I was off and printing in minuets. I haven't tested the function of replacing the ink but I've printed a few dozen color pages and the bing still looks full so I imagine it will be a while before I do. Seemed fast and not too noisy either.

The Epson-Expression ET-3600 Eco Tank Wireless Printer is a great home use printer. With the refillable tanks you can print so much more economically than with printers that you have to buy separate ink cartridges for. It was easy to set up and works flawlessly with my wireless router. I am very pleased with my purchase.

This is my second eco tank printer by Epson. I use my first one for business, and this one for personal use. I love saving money on ink. The only drawback on this printer is scanning one page at a time. No feeder.
It was easy to set up and no problem with the Wi-Fi connection.

Works well and nice to not have to buy ink as often. Was difficult to figure out the setting screen and still having trouble with that, but it is getting easier - not straightforward though for a person who is not a computer expert. Also I have to reset the printer and paper every time I change from letter to photos as It has only one tray. The other feature I would change is that it shuts off after a period of time and then I can't print from another part of the house until I go and turn it on again. When I learn more about the settings maybe I can fix this.. The photos have come out well, but the printed cards are not as sharp an crisp as my former printer.

I bought this printer because I've been spending too much money on ink cartridges. It makes sense to pay up front to save money in the long run. Picked this up on sale ($50 off) and recycled my old printer for another $75 toward my purchase. It was easy to fill the ink wells and replacement ink is inexpensive compared to what I was paying for cartridges for my old printer. Ink quality is great. I print and/or copy daily and have no problem printing from my laptop. I would recommend this printer to a friend.

This printer is awesome although a bit pricey. I was tempted to buy a cheaper one because decent printers have become so affordable, but went with the eco tank to save my sanity and wallet when came time to buy ink. I have tried almost all printers in different price ranges and always feel like I am getting screwed when I need ink. Time will tell if the claims of 2 years of ink included in the box, but so far so good. The print quality is actually really good too.

Bought this to replace a Canon which was a real ink hog. So far, the printer works fine. The initial cost is a bit high, but the printer comes with huge bottles of ink and the low-cost refills make me believe that this is the solution to the high cost of color printing. IMO the color print quality is not quite as good as my Canon was, but that is not crucial to me. The unit linked into my WIFI with no problem & rpnting seems fast. Overall, very pleased.

It all works great: photos, wifi, duplex, paper feeding, not too loud to me, fast printing, easy setup, good scanning, fast copies, and of course no cartridges to buy. Hallalooyeah! The reason I always bought HP or Canon in the past is because the print head can be changed. The only question is: what is the printer lifetime? I have no idea, but I somehow trust Epson that this is the way to go. Again: this ink method is completely great. However, you need this tip: There is a foil to remove from the bottle top. If you yank it off, you are doomed. Use a needle nose pliers to twist off the foil on the bottle top to avoid shaking the bottle. Then if you place the bottle-spigot at the intake before inverting the bottle, it is possible to have no spills. I did it. I printed perhaps 500 sides so far and the wells look 3/4 full... :) The only issue I have is that printing from my phone requires I press a printer button to ignore some paper-size problem. Could not find the setting to set. This is a great printer.

A bit louder than the inkjet printer it replaced (which had a slower "quiet" mode).
Take care filling the tanks from the bottles. Once tanks are filled, initialization takes 15 minutes while the printer pumps ink through the hoses to the print head.
Print quality is as expected.
Primary reason for selecting this printer was the EcoTank promise of lower ink costs over pricey cartridges.
