    Could not be better

As someone who regularly updates photobooks and uses pictures in birthday cards I was really excited for this printer. I always forget to print pictures at the store in advance and love having this at home to print whenever I want. To start, the printer is fairly easy to set up, although I will say some technical experience is required. It took about an hour to go through everything in the box, set up the printer, align it, and connect to the wifi to print. I had a little bit of trouble connecting from my laptop (probably user error) but I was able to print from the desktop computer without issue. The images that are printed are phenomenal. You can compare them directly to a professionally printed photo and you would have no idea that they came from two different printers. I have already used the printer to print photos for friends and to hang around the house. Best part? The ink is relatively inexpensive so replacing the ink is no big deal. The ink in my regular printer is so expensive and I dread replacing it every time I run out, but this printer is different. If you are looking to purchase this printer for regular photo printing use I highly recommend it. It will print large photos and small photos without any issue and you'll never be able to tell the difference of a store grade professional printer. Goodbye Inconvenience, Hello Professional Photos!

I’m a photo junkie, and as I’ve become a pet parent, I’ve only become worse. Unfortunately, many of my photos just end up sitting in folders on my computer or I have to run over to Walgreens which is a pain because either a.) The photos are not processed by the time I am promised so my hopes of “one hour photo” are dashed, b.) No one is at the photo counter to help when I arrive to pick up my photos so I impatiently wait around, or c.) Well, I’m just a bit lazy. So when the Epson Expression Photo XP-8500 All-in-One Printer came into my life, I was excited to finally have my own photo maker at home to save time and energy, and print photos whenever I please. Initially, I was a little nervous that the instructions would be book-long and more confusing than helpful. Nothing can ruin the excitement of a new device more than those dreaded instructions. Luckily, Epson let me hold onto my excitement as the printer came with simple instructions to follow with diagrams that explained everything, just my speed. The printer took about 40 minutes to set up. The longest steps were waiting for the printer to charge the ink which takes about 10 minutes, and then installing the software. Overall, the setup was pretty effortless, and this is coming from someone who can’t always tell her left from right. Once the printer was up and running, the real test began. I was a little skeptical about how great the quality of the photos would be in comparison to photos from more “fancy, superior” professional photo equipment at places like Walgreens. However, I have owned an Epson printer previously which I had a good experience with, so I was hopeful. With this printer came some sample photo paper which was great so I could enjoy the printer right away. The big moment came for me to print out the first photo from my laptop, and I was not disappointed. The quality of the photo made it look like it could have been printed from Walgreens or Shutterfly, but even better because I received the photo in a matter of seconds with little effort on my part. I also printed a photo from my phone, and I was pleasantly surprised how simple it was. I basically just had to download an app, select the photo I wanted printed from my phone, and was all set. The printer really made my photo, of a butterfly on a flower, come to life, capturing its sharpness and vibrant colors. The printer comes with 6 color inks, so it does a wonderful job of being true to the colors of the original photo. I do have to say that despite how easy the printer is to use, it is also easy to make a mistake if you don’t closely follow the directions. For instance, if you pull out the paper cassette too much, it will fall out of the printer and you have to re-insert it or if you put the photo paper on the glossy side face up (I am guilty of this), the photos may come out as blobs of ink. However, as long as you are careful and use your brain, you’ll be good to go. The printer does take some time to get used to with the different paper cassettes and figuring out the variety of features, but once you do, you can take full advantage of all it has to offer. Overall, I have to say I’m very impressed by the printer and how well it performed. It is easy to set up and use, lives up to its promise of delivering professional-quality photos, and makes photo printing less of a chore, and more convenient and fun. Great Compact Printer

This is a great little printer if you have a small space to put one. I especially like the fact that I can print from my phone directly to the printer. I did have to use the wifi-direct option with my phone. I did have some difficulty installing and cannot install the Epson Connect since I have a firewall where I used this printer. I haven't had time to take to another location without the extensive firewall, but I am sure it would work flawlessly in a wifi, no firewall situation. I tried to set up this printer without reading the manual/instructions that came with the printer. I had NO problems as it was very straightforward with setup. I did not attach to my computer the first few days as I wanted to make sure this would work without a computer as stated. No problems. Today, I installed the drivers and the printer is working great. I had no problems installing the drivers and getting the printer to work via the USB cable. One note, however, the cable does not come with the product. I think all cables should come with the product or be noted in large letters on the outside of the box that it is required for certain applications. I love the multiple trays for different media and the slot in the top for sheet feeding. Makes printing multiple different sizes much easier. As of this time, I am not especially pleased with the quality of the print. Nothing still looks as good as a real photo but it is a good substitute. It is just not as good as I would like it. Great Printer

I really enjoyed using this printer as set up was a breeze and print quality is better than I gave it credit for. My issues, be them small, are that some paper types look like they took a print better than others. I don't know if this was because I started off using a mixture of Canon, HP, and Epson types of paper during the first few hours of testing but after making sure alignments and set up was done (It took three rounds of print calibration to remove lines from some prints) the pictures came out perfect and fast, and I mean fast! If anything, I think the varying degrees of glossy make a difference on its own internal settings and that might have been the issue. The app that you can download to work with the printer is great. It has just as many options as the printer does and something that I really liked was that it will tell you what you have loaded in the trays currently and if it matches the size of the print you want to create. I could see this being used at a party or at home when I don’t want to go to the store just to have some images printed. I would easily recommend this printer. Pros Easy set up Fast picture printing of ALL sizes that it can print Good companion app for iOS and Android Small foot print. No computer needed. Can print directly to DVD/CDs SD Card and Bluetooth Cons No USB cable included. Some non-Epson paper types could affect print quality. Took a few times to get the calibration set. Great for family photos

Setting this printer up is quite easy. Once you take it out of the box you un-wrap the cartages and put in the appropriate slots you have to charge the cartages. This takes about 10 min. It will then want you to print off some sheets with lines. It will ask you to choose the one that looks the best. The printer will walk you through the entire process. Just be sure to have some plain printer paper on hand. Setting up the Wi-Fi is just as easy. It will pull up available networks, pick yours, put in your password and you’re done. The first couple of pictures that I printed off didn’t look good. There were marks where it looked like the cartages were out of ink. I printed off a few more and the problem was gone and the pictures come out as good as if I had a store print them off. My suggestion would be to print some off on plain paper first so you don’t use up all of your photo paper. Over all this is a really good printer for the price and the pictures turn out great. Perfect for family photos and digital scrapbooking. This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-8500 All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Let me say I was skeptical of yet another photo printer in the world of 'printers', but I have to say this one impressed me. I have used dozens of printers to print photos in my career. From the small 4x6 only ones.... to the large format dye-sub models. This seems to be the perfect mix of form factor, speed, quality, and price. Setup was pretty easy. Onboard touchscreen made it easy and super fast to join my wireless network. Paper trays are a little confusing, but certainly acceptable. This will hold 2 different paper selections (5x7 or 4x6 and a larger 8x10 or 8.5x11 standard paper).. Good enough for me as I typically only hold photo stock in the printer so far. Printing from iOS is easy, sending print jobs from photo software on my Mac AND PC have worked without issue and I'm very happy. Regardless of anything else this is certainly a product I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone needing a high quality photo printer for the sizes I've mentioned above. Epson XP-8500 is a very sleek and light weight printer. Installing the printer was quite easy. It didn't take much time. Only difficulty I faced was in closing the scanner lid. But, once figured out, I ended up liking it. I also liked the fact, that when you load the papers, it ask you which kind of papers you have loaded. Setting up the wifi on printer was also very simple. I tried different ways of printing through different devices over wifi and it worked smoothly all the time. The quality of photos printed on both 8.5*11 and 4*6 were equally good. I had the option to choose different settings which was an additional bonus. Also, I tried scanning directly to the usb, which worked equally well. It does double sided scanning also properly. At times, during the printing, the speed gets slow, which I believe is due to data transfer over wifi. Last but not the least, I am happy with the way the printer has been working and I am still using it . Despite this is "almost" an all-in-one printer (print/scan/copy except fax). it does a super great job in photo printing. It does print out max 8x10 borderless photo with extremely details, thanks to its 6 color cartridges (not sure how much it costs for the ink but premium and ink from manufacture is not cheap but well worth it). I can just stick the thumbdrive or memory from a phone directly to the print, browse then print without a PC, that's easy as 1-2-3. Another option is wireless print from my phone via Wifi. Also love to have a cd-tray included to, i can do customize CD label and print directly to CD. The photo result is superior, quality as from the print shop. Printer, copier, scanner that does it all! Its got great color range being a 6 cartridge printer and gives you comparable quality prints with similar priced printers. With great features, this printer has a small footprint and is pretty light in weight! This printer supports SD cards and thumb drives, direct connect via USB, or Wi-Fi, as well as Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, Mopria Print Service, and Scan to Cloud! You can be out of the box and ready to print in about 40 minutes (including calibration time) All in all a great well rounded printer that will get all kinds of use in my household. I unpacked the printer and was immediately impressed with its clean lines and compact size. The instructions for set up were easy to follow and clear (rare in my experience) and everything was set up in no time. Now to print... I picked several random photos off my phone and was easily able to print directly from my phone. The photo quality was AMAZING! the pictures looked like they were from a photo lab and were perfect! I printed a few non photos as well and it took care of those tasks without issue. This photo printer really delivers. I love how easy it is to use, from set-up to printing, and I love the quality of the pictures as well. I'm constantly taking pictures, but getting them printed was another story until this printer. I love that I can connect to it wirelessly! It makes it so much easier to actually print the picture right away, and then gift it or put it in a frame. I'm a big fan of Epson, and I'm so glad that they've created such a great photo printer. Review of Epson Expression Photo XP-8500 All-in-One Printer Alan Ulicny UNBOXING: The Epson Expression Photo XP-8500 All-in-One Printer (print, scan, copy - $250) is the second non-HP printer I’ve used on a regular basis and the first photo printer, and I must say that I am pleasantly surprised and disappointed that I didn’t switch a while ago. Out of the box, my first impression is that it is a large unit, larger than I expected. The packaging does a nice job of protecting the unit and all the accessories along with it. At approximately 14x14x6”, it is larger than most photo printers I’ve seen, but not so much so that it won’t fit in either a professional or home office or my wife’s craft room. A large 2.7in color, adjustable touch panel that is very clear, 100 sheet capacity for plain paper and a second drawer that holds 20 smaller photo paper sizes, quick printing (my observations are about 8ppm) and the ability to multitask using the dual paper drawers. SET-UP: Set up was easy using the included instructions and didn’t take as long as some previous units I’ve owned. I was able to set up the unit and connect to my home network in about 10min. Epson offers some direct connect, flash drive, “WiFi Direct”, near-field, cloud and networked printing options that make it easy to meet your specific needs and print your files from nearly everywhere. PERFORMANCE: My family and I have been using this unit for a while now, and we’re really impressed with its performance (my wife has had poor wireless connectivity in her office in the past, but this unit has been rock-solid). I’m not a “spec guy” by any means, so I’m not going to quote a lot of numbers (you can get those on the Epson website, anyway), but as far as I’m concerned, this printer puts out clear, sharp photos and it puts them out fast. With the XP-8500, you can print out high-quality photos up to 8 x 10 using Epson’s 6-color Claria Photo HD Inks, PC-free printing via USB/SD cards/smartphones, CD/DVD printing, photo editing features, affordable ink cartridges (~$11/color std), and the option to scan/share images directly to social networks like Facebook & the cloud. SUMMARY: Fast photo printing, the ability to scan and copy photos, inexpensive ink cartridges and wireless printing straight from your phone make this a great printer for today’s techy household. As far as I’m concerned, this printer puts out clear, sharp prints and it puts them out fast. If you are looking for something better than the cheap photo printers you’re starting to see everywhere, do yourself a favor and check out this Epson. I've had this printer for about a week now. I love how it's compact and doesn't require a lot of space like the bigger and bulkier all in one printers. It also has all the easy to use features that I look for. I like the Creative Print app in customizing my pictures and making them look more professional. I love the quality in the prints! Photo Printer with a Punch

The Epson XP-8500 was the first photo printer that I've ever used, so I was initially a bit apprehensive about the quality and endurance of the machine. However, my initial skepticism has melted away to pure happiness, as the XP-8500 has definitely been one of the most reliable printers that I've ever owned. The photo printing on the device is phenomenal. The color reproduction is fantastic, as the images look exactly as they do on my laptop, which is awesome. In the past, I'd had to print images on a regular inkjet, and the quality had severely suffered. I'm happy to say this isn't the case here. I've tried using the printer to print on regular paper for projects and proposals too, and I haven't been disappointed yet. The output looks the same as my old printer, though it definitely is much, much slower (I'll chalk this up to its specialty of being a photo printer). For someone like me who likes doing all their work on one printer, this is definitely a negative. A great feature on this particular device is the online connectivity features. I was able to print out without any major hassle through the Internet, and that's been a godsend as I no longer have to being with tangling cables wrapping around my printer. The machine itself looks black and sleek; something taken out of the an Apple book, I suppose, and it definitely looks quite pretty sitting in the corner of my small apartment. I wouldn't quite call it portable, but it's definitely much smaller than most printers I've owned in the past. Be warned: a potential trap is the 6-color Claria ink system. Though I haven't needed to change my ink yet, I'm still wincing from the fact that my wallet will take quite a hit when it does come time to. With 6 different cartridges, replacing the ink just once will cost me well over $100. Ouch. Scanning and copying work more or less as expected, as do media reading (the CD reader is a nice feature...though a bit outdated). All in all, a great printer especially for photo enthusiasts, though it does have a few shortcomings. The days of going to the one hour Photo Hut or all in one super stores to print out your home photos are over. Here is a small all in one wireless photo Printer. It prints all of your pictures in ten seconds per photo. The days of USB plug in are gone with Wireless connection and SD Card slot. You can now print directly from your Apple phone/IPad or your Android device. The quality of this printer is amazing when you pair up the photo with the right paper. So when printing the family photo as seen on this site make sure you select the glossy paper to get that quality with no lines. This will even print to multiple sizes for your keepsake needs. The LCD screen is great to select the right photo from your SD card or when doing the initial setup. Setup was longer then most printers but unlike other printers you will be printing photos you will want to keep and show off to the world so you want to make sure they print with the highest quality! So this printer will have you doing a setup to get the alignment correct and make sure it always prints amazing memories you capture and want to hold on to forever! Quality Printer, Slightly Dark Pictures

The setup for this printer was quite a bit of work but I can tell it's very sturdy and reliable. I wanted to test it out on some small 4x6 prints and it did a stellar job. No bleeding or missing color. Text documents on plain computer paper work perfectly, as well. When you load in paper of any sort, the printer prompts you to input the paper type and size. The usb slot makes everything a breeze and you can even put pictures directly on a DVD which is great considering most laptops don't come with CD/DVD slots anymore. The only issue I might have is the pictures came out slightly darker than how they look on my phone or computer and I couldn't find a troubleshooting tutorial for this specific model. I'm sure it's just a small setting I'm missing but it's a bit frustrating. Can't wait to continue using this printer instead of ordering prints of family photos online. The EPSON XP-8500 Series came nicely and securely packaged when delivered. Which is a plus in my thinking? As it seems as though the bigger packages are the ones, as are the smaller packages both equally likely to being jostled around a bit during transport And of course, the exciting part was the unpacking, making sure everything that is supposed to be there is there. Which it was Unpacking the box, I find the EPSON XP-8500 Series, of course, No nicks, No mars on the case a very smooth and sleek look to it. As though it can fit in any room, any decor. I find the power cord which is heavy duty. So I know it will handle the load. I find the cd-rom for the setup which seems fairly straightforward.Doing a full install once it is run from your cd-rom.There is also a quick start written guide with very detailed instructions as to getting your printer up and working. As well as the 6 yes I said 6 ink cartridges. Which at first I am like uh oh. This is going to get expensive. Yet I do see that unlike many other printers these cartridges work independently of one another. No longer is it required that when 1 cartridge is empty the others have to be changed as well. Now that is a + PLUS + in my thinking. I do like that And another PLUS is it comes with a nifty starter pack of photo paper to get me started. The setup and install went very smoothly and I look forward to printing out pictures and sending them to family and friends.I have already printed out some really nice pictures with this printer and it is so easy and intuitive. Just pick the picture you want, click and the printer does the rest. I have printed out some reports for my work and they are just as easy. There are 3 paper slots so it is easy to get it done right the first time. From using the cd-rom to install I did not see a custom install to where I could choose what I wanted or do not want. Looking at my desktop running Windows 7, I see 3 different programs 1, Epson Scan 2 2, Epson XP-8500 User's Guide 3, Google Cloud Print Setup So that being it will not use alot of resources.Which is always a concern for computer users I would like and I am not seeing an install for Linux users perhaps there is one and I will be able to use it. I do know my Mom is happy now. She always bugs me wanting new pictures of my daughters, her granddaughters, and their children. So this is one thing off my list of to do`s I will be using this printer for the holidays to print pictures to send out to family and friends This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-8500 All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

This Epson Expression Photo XP 8500 All-In-One-Printer also comes with an easy installation disk with easy install instructions for start-up and setting up wireless printing functions. After setting up and running all the alignment tests, I set out to test the printing quality. I started with a simple 4x6 photo and it came out beautifully detailed and of professional quality. I was very impressed with border-less printing as well! However, when trying to print the same photo on 8x10 photo paper, it came out a completely different color. I have ran the diagnostics several times and made it clean the printing heads just as many times and I have tried printing the same photo 3 more times only to have the same effect happen. I have checked all my settings and made sure they were exactly the same as when I printed the 4x6 to no avail. It will NOT print the photo correctly on the 8x10 photo paper. Also, the printer is loud to me. Much louder than my XP-640 Expression printer. It grabs the paper and it sounds like it's getting stuck in the rollers to me until I see it coming out at the front and it also makes quick/sudden jerky internal movements that cause my desk to shake slightly when printing. Maybe I have a defective unit? This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-8500 All-In-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

I have been really wanting to print out some our family pictures for albums and around the house. Using my old printer, I was so disappointed when I printed these pictures, taken by a professional with a professional camera, and they looked terrible. The colors looked totally different than really grainy. I knew it was time to look into a printer that was meant to actually print quality pictures. I was initially surprised by the compact size of this printer. It is the same size as my junky printer that is marketed as a "compact printer". This printer takes up barely any space but still majorly out preforms. I love the touch screen too! It's so convenient and I'm not asking myself - "wait, what does triangle mean? Does this button go up, or what?" I had this printer up and running in no time, thanks to the thorough instructions. This is a printer with a lot of components and features and to get the most out of it the user manual is seriously your best friend. Some of the features can be a little fiddly, and you really benefit from knowing what you are doing. The first thing I printed was one of my photos, and I am very happy with the quality. The colors are vibrant and it looks like I had it printed at a shop. The printer is fast and relatively quiet. I am so pleased with this and can't wait to print out a ton more pictures! This is a review for the Epson Expression Photo XP-8500 All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and rev

I would recommend this to a friend
