It's not cheap, but it's not $10K either. This projector is a great product for the price, especially when purchased on sale and with a free Best Buy gift card gift to boot. It's a great addition to our newly remodeled basement.

This product replaced our 5030 that has served us very well for almost 4 years. The improvement is incredible. Much brighter picture and outstanding clarity. Don't have any 4k ready components so can't speak for that but the up converting is notable. This line of Epson projectors is perfect for a non dedicated move room like we have. The image is outstanding in any light conditions.

Picture is bright, colorful, sharp, clear. I purchased this particular projector especially for its versatility in placement. It has a zoom lens and Optical shift which allows for placement not allowed in my theater by other projectors. Some reviews said that it was loud, however I found it to be much quieter than my previous projector. I'm extremely happy with my purchase and look forward to years of movies.

It's bigger than I thought, however quiet. Great picture

I can't get over the black levels of this projector. After owning several DLPs I made the jump to the Epson. I'm so happy I did! Contrast is perfect, 4K enhanced looks great. I really can't say enough. If you are looking for a projector, you found it!

This projector is setup in our basement theatre room and is amazing. We use it to watch movies, TV and play Xbox. We are always amazed at the sharpness of the picture, especially when watching BluRay movies. I purchased this purely for the contrast ratio and not for the lumens as the room is darkened and we don't need a bright projector. Lastly, the lens shift is worth the price as well since it made setting up the picture a breeze with the 97" screen.

I had an Epson 3020 projector and when purchasing the 5040, I wasn't sure it would be that noticeable of a change. WOW, was I wrong. This projector is absolutely amazing for the price. The colors and the clarity are very close to the $10k Sony projector. I could not be happier with this purchase and would highly recommend to anyone.

Look this is not a "true 4K" projector but i would do a Pepsi challenge with this projector all day against those more expensive projectors. This projector is what I would argue as the standard for the average to above average Joe. You pair this with the correct 4K UHD blu ray player and get ready to be WOW'd! Setup was pretty easy. 3D image is flawless. This is a must have projector for most theater junkies or newbies like myself.

This is a high-quality projection system. My family and I really enjoy watching our movies downstairs on this. The picture is very clear. The only call out is you need to be patient when turning on. 5 to 10 seconds later the projection will be fully clear . We love and recommend!

For those who can;t afford 5K plus on 4K projector, this is the next best thing. Pretty happy with video quality and is super quiet.

Easy to install and had it running in no time. Easy to mount to ceiling.

FYI, the first one I received from online order did not work at all right out of the box, I took it back to a physical Best Buy store and even the high end theater guys could not get it working. But doing an exchange was no problem. They did mess that up a little because they forgot to order a replacement and I had to call, and physically go back to the store to figure out where my new project was. But I was in no hurry for this particular item and not really mad about it. When I finally got a working projector, it was amazing and I've really been enjoying it.

Our new home has a home theater room, but no equipment. Purchased this projector to use with a large screen. Incredible picture. Looking forward to getting everything else installed. Great bargain for the price.

Did a lot of research before choosing a projector for our Theatre room and very pleased with the Epson! Very good picture even in medium light. Unit is a bit big so you need to plan, but otherwise great

This is a great projector to experience 4K without paying 10k. Whisper quiet; you'll never know it's over your heads. The colors are just outstanding.
