This Epson VS355 720p is the perfect replacement for old BenQ MP610 projector in our meeting room. This Epson has a huge difference in quality when projected in a room lighted and in a completely dark room. The Epson give out 3000 lumens vs the other brand which is 2000. The quality of the image is a huge improvement compared to my older projector we were using. When using for presentations the fonts are shown fine and for videos is really nice. The size is just slightly thinner than most normal projectors. Its weight is also slightly less than normal size projector. If you are going to use a projector stand, just note that it only has three holes for attachment. No issue in attaching my older stand to this new projector. It has all the necessary type of connection that you may use in an office, it even included one HDMI port. The best feature about this projector is that it does a perfect job at horizontal and vertical image correction. It is one less thing you need to struggle to setup because it is almost automatically to correct for a rectangular image from any angle. This adjustment is called “ Keystone correction”. So this makes this a perfect projector for portability. The fan noise level at normal mode is average, not too loud. When economy mode is even less noticeable. I will mostly use this projector in the economy mode in the meeting room to have the least noise and to prolong the life of the lamp, but this mode is not a big issue because even though the image it was still bright for the room. I would recommend the use of economy mode whenever possible to increase the lamp’s life. To sum up, this projector is fantastic for any meeting room, for portability use and as a bonus, to watch quality videos.

I’ve used this projector under various conditions using various sources, and overall it’s proven to be a fairly reliable device. Picture quality is superb, audio, however, sounds a little small and “tinny”. Once I split the audio off to a 3W portable speaker, it was perfect. Now, for sources... First was a Samsung notebook 9 at my office. In a fairly lit office conference room on a standard pullscreen, graphs were sharp, colors rich, and fan noise was minimum. Audio sounded hollow, and could barely be heard over typical meetingroom chatter. Picture slides looked amazing, right out of the box. If your work environment is quiet during multimedia presentations, this is a great projector for the money. Next source was an AppleTV at my home. While this is a business projector not a movie projector, I wanted to put it through every kind of test a geek could think of. Against a white wall, watching a digital copy of starwars, colors were again rich, details were sharp, but black levels aren’t as deep as a true home theater projector, however, for a small business owner that might want to take the projector home on a weekend to play a movie for the kids, it can do a decent enough job, if attached to a decent audio system. Final source, a gaming pc. I know a lot of people might think multimedia = gaming, so I decided to try the projector on that, as well. Booting up Guild Wars 2, it looked really good. Better, in my opinion, than the movie, but not as sharp as the regular “boring” work graphs. Overall, if you want a great business machine that you can also sneak out of the office on weekends, I highly recommend the Epson vs355. It’s a quiet workhorse that will make your business presentations shine and be fun during weekend family events as well. Sharp, clear and incredibly bright. This lightweight projector is one of the brightest I have ever seen, especially considering the size. It has all the major input options so that you can hook it up to pretty much anything, even two inputs at the same time with a split screen option. It has a built in speakers, which isn’t the best or loudest, but it gets the job done if you just need to project something off or a portable device. It has auto keystone which is pretty accurate, a zoom and focus dial on the lens and a feature I haven’t seen before that allows you to angle the projection, in case the projector can’t be pointed straight at the flat surface. It boots up relatively fast and there is no extended cool down period, it is ready to unplug as soon as it is powered down. There is a huge set of options through the menu to get the specific image that you are looking for and strangely, I guess the software is default, it has network setting which is not capable on the VS355S. This is an amazing projector whether it is for work or play, as you can see from the image of the 24 foot wide screen I set up in my back yard.

I’m so excited to share my review for this Epson VS355 WXGA 3LCD Projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review! I wasn’t going to be home to accept delivery of it the day it was set to arrive, and a signature of someone over 21 is required for delivery. A very good idea, in my opinion, for such an expensive piece of equipment. And it was shipped in a box that said what was inside, so I wouldn’t have been comfortable with it being left outside. Anyway, I was easily able to adjust my delivery for me to pick it up at my local Fedex location. The piece of mind was definitely a plus. So my first impressions upon opening the projector... I honestly would have preferred it to be shipped in a plain box over the Espon box, but despite that little detail, I found very well packaged. There is adequate styrofoam and cardboard padding around the projector itself to prevent damage from shipping, and the accessories come in a little separate compartment in the cardboard to prevent them from damaging the projector or from getting damaged themselves. So what all comes in the box? It honestly comes with everything that you need to get started. It has the power cable, VGA cable, the remote and even batteries for remote, the quick set up sheet that is in 4 languages. I found the quick start guide made this really easy to set up & get to watching our movie right away! (Huge plus with an impatient 3 year old asking to watch her movie NOW!) Our daughter decided that she wanted to watch the movie Moana, so we watched it by connecting the projector to my Apple TV. We don’t have a projector screen yet, so we projected it onto our wall. The wall in our living room is just basically the primer because we just haven’t gotten to that project yet, so it’s a matte white but has some gray hints to the color. This did affect the picture quality some what when the lights were on, but once we turned the lights off the colors were much more vibrant. If our walls were properly painted and were a solid white I think the colors would pop more and it would likely even remain vibrant even with the lights on. We used the projector after the sun went down, so I can’t yet attest to the picture and color quality with natural sunlight streaming in. The overall picture quality is very good, though and you can clearly see the detail of the movie. I do wonder how well it would do when watching a movie that is just in general darker, like the last installment of Harry Potter. There many parts in that movie that are literally dark, not much light, and so I find parts of the movie to be difficult to see even on a high quality flatscreen tv. That’ll be a test for another day, but it’s one I’m definitely interested to see results for & I will report back once we’ve tested that. We did find the projector fan to be somewhat distracting at first, which was a concern, but once we got used to it we were able to tune it out & just focus on the movie. We’re actually planning to use this projector at my brother’s wedding reception to display the videos and photos of him and his fiancé from when they were little and while they were dating! I can’t wait to see the picture quality on an actual projector screen (provided by the venue)! I also can’t wait to do little “drive inn” movie type experiences in our back yard this summer! I plan to construct a foldable movie screen for our “drive inn” movie nights. Then some comfy lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks & we’ll be set for some great nights! Plus we can have that going to the movie experience without disturbing anyone else with our three year old’s constant questions! ;) For our outdoor movies I’m going to run the sound through an external speaker, because while the sound was just ok inside, it very likely would be difficult to hear outside with the ambient noise out there. Honestly, I’d likely use external speakers for movies inside as well just to give a better movie experience. I think it’s worth mentioning that the overall sound quality from the rear placed speakers and the fact that there is no bluetooth capability for this are things to consider when deciding if this unit is right for you or not. Overall, this is a great portable projector. I wouldn’t replace our TV with it for everyday use, but it’s great to give us that cinema experience and to make for some really fun family nights.

This rosin printer is an excellent projector for projects and presentations. It has a bright display output and is easily seen on walls or screens in lighted rooms. I used this projector to mirror my MacBook and display family photos in our family room on the wall with all the windows open and you could clearly see all the photos with accurate color representations. The family was very impressed to see the pictures in a presenatation like that. I had it so I was projecting approximately a 100" display on the wall. It has plenty of inputs for multiple devices and you can choose by pressing the source button. It also has an awesome feature to use split screen to display two devices at the same time! It does tend to expel a bit of heat from the on board fan during heavy use but it is not overwhelming. The integrated speaker is fine for small rooms during presentations. So if you need to present with big sound you will have to use the speakers from your other device or speakers plugged in to a pic or mac. This projector does not have output connections for sound. That being said, if you are looking to use this projector for home theatre use, you should keep in mind that this projector does display brighter and the integrated speaker is designed for presentations. It does however work for watching movies and other streaming sources. I was curious and tested a firestick in the hdmi port and it worked flawlessly visually but sound was less than impressive thru the speaker. So this projector is a good all around projector that displays bright pictures in bright rooms, accurate colors, high def resolutions to satisfy, easy set up (plug and play), multiple inputs (hdmi, USB, vga, rca). All the specs are comparable to other projectors but you will not be disappointed if you want an all around projector that is great for school or business presentations, or if you just want something for around the home to show family photos, have a movie night with the kids, or fame night with the fellas.

This is a review for the Epson VS355 Projector that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. Loving this Epson projector on my light beige/cream loft walls. I've used other projectors, albeit older ones with much less lumens than this 3300 one. None are this clear projecting on blank walls, especially at daytime with full sunlight streaming from our windows. I'm super-impressed! I'm using it as a home theater projector. The projector is great and very easy to use. I haven't used it extensively yet, but so far its everything I wanted. I also own my startup, planning on using this as a conference room projector once I fully test all features. I love how big the screen can be, making it bigger by merely moving the projector farther from our wall screen or smaller by moving it closer to the wall. There are also options to change the focus and the slant of the screen and a variety of others I'm still exploring. Best part is I do not have to really buy a screen as the display is super clear on the wall. All in all, this 3300-lumen projector is a great option for movie-watching as well as using the laptop on a much bigger screen than is available in stores. Indoors and outdoors. This is so versatile, as long as you have a flat, light-colored screen to project to.

I’ve recently had the opportunity to test the Epson VS355 business projector – and will say this is a very capable unit. It arrived well packaged in a box, but I noticed right away there wasn’t a case to carry it in. If this machine will be moved around a lot, you’re going to want to pick one up. I was impressed the number of input options with this projector: USB cable (special SW required), HDMI, VGA and Component. I would expect that most people would simply use HDMI or VGA, but since I was testing with a Surface Pro 4, I didn’t have any of these options. Worthy to note that if you only have a Microsoft Surface device (it has a single USB port and a display port). I opted for the USB port which utilizes a printer style USB cable. I needed to download the special software from Epson, and once installed, I used the “Windows key”+P on my surface device to select “Duplicate” for the display setting. BOOM – worked great! Duplicate displays! However, I could not “Extend” my display between the Surface and the Projector, so if I try to do a PowerPoint presentation, it would not show my presentation notes on my Surface – it only Duplicated the display. Bummer. There are no wireless display options with this unit, due to its relatively low price point. You can purchase an accessory that would allow this though! For business presentations, the picture quality is awesome. The projector is bright, crisp and does well with Microsoft Office type software. I also looked at some pictures taken with my iphone, and although it is great for showing off to the family, it lacked the clarity I would want for somebody that is focused mostly on displaying high quality images. There are plenty of adjustments possibly – auto vertical keystone and manual horizontal. The included remote control allows you do adjust these as well as buttons on the unit itself. Speaking of the remote control (see picture), it also has lots of options. There’s a built in pointer but I feel you’d be better off with a laser pointer though. I do like the zoom feature and if connected with the USB option, the page up and down will allow you to control your presentation or slideshow right from the remote itself! There is a cool "split" button that allows you to display from two sources at the same time - a feature not usually found in affordable projectors like this! The sound, although a bit “tinny”, is what you’d expect from a small projector like this. If you plan to use sounds to really enhance your presentation, you should plug into the sound system in the room if you have one or use a more capable portable speaker. Overall – this will work great for small businesses or groups, family photo displays, graduation picture showcases or even movie night for the kids (as they usually don’t notice or care about granulation if it happens). Remember – this is not a Cinema projector – it’s meant for business! I rated it 4 stars only because it didn’t come with a case. Projection wise – it’s bright, quiet and sleek!

Bottom line, this projector gets the job done. Sure it does not display brights maybe as well as some of the higher level projectors, but overall this does an exemplary job on many levels. A few Pros: Other projectors are huge, some measuring well over a foot in width and length, this one does not. It is very compact. I mention the size as a pro. I use this on my home office desk which displays on a wall that is roughly 10 feet away and since i have little room on my desk, having this smaller is a benefit. The sound that is omitted from this projector is very minimal, i hardly knew it was running. The "warm up" period for this projector is about 5-10 seconds. Other projectors i have used made me wait for 30+ seconds. Given 30 seconds is not horrible, when you are face to face with a client those extra 20 seconds of awkward silence can be detrimental. Auto screen display tilt is a great feature too. Meaning, if i tilt the projector, the display will account for any subtleties in the display image.. Cons: Although overall i have been very pleased i am a little upset that the resolution does not go a tad higher. The Lumen count does not impact me as the home office i use is about 12x12, if i were in a bigger room i would be a little more critical on this feature. Another small thing that i would of liked to see would be a more HDMI ports, as this unit only has 1. Overall, great unit that gets the job done. Not many bells or whistles but still performs as described.

My wife and I both do small-group speaking and presentations and we wanted a better projector than what we had been using. For the size and cost we are both very impressed with it for presentation and media use. The VS355 produced bright colors and crisp images even in fully-lit rooms, just as it should. It’s small and light enough to be portable and it’s easily bright enough for the small-group venues we most often host and attend. Right off the bat we noticed how bright it is, at least compared to our previous projector. Almost too bright even, so one of the first changes I made and recommend is to find and enable the “economy” mode. It will lower the brightness slightly but will increase the projected life of the bulb from ~6,000 to ~10,000 hours, reduces heat and the corresponding fan noise as well. I went back and forth between modes a few times and I honestly thought economy mode looked better anyway -- the reduction in brightness dampened the whites and other bright parts of the image to not be so harsh. I attached it to my PC via HDMI and it picked it right up as a 1280x800 display and looked fantastic. Even at 100% volume on the PC though I thought the VS355 sound was unduly quiet. However, keep in mind that the volume on the projector itself can also be adjusted from 1 - 10, the default was just 4 or 5 I think. So if you are in a situation where the VS355 is your only sound option then nudge the volume up on both the projector and your presentation source to get as much as you can out of it. The VS355 adjusted the image automatically to account for vertical projector tilt (vertical keystone), and there are buttons to adjust it manually as well if you want to fine tune ti. There is also a slider on the top of the projector to manually correct horizontal image skew (horizontal keystone). The VS355 does not have built-in wireless display abilities, and at this price point that's not to be expected, but you can add some wireless display functionality later with an add-on module from Epson. Doing so will take over the USB-A port though so you won’t be able to use it for anything else while the USB display module is inserted. The last feature I’ll mention is one I didn’t expect, it was just a happy discovery -- the ability to display 2 sources side-by-side. You can choose to display them evenly split, or you can choose one to be larger than the other. For audio in this case, you can either let the projector try to figure it out automatically or you can specifically choose one audio source over the other.

Purchased for my wife to make powerpoint presentations to clubs and organizations in small rooms, classrooms, etc. The unit is easy to operate, bright, and lightweight. The price was quite reasonable.

This was purchased to replace an old projector, so the picture is MUCH better. Set up was simple and it is very easy to use. We are very happy with this projector.

After using projectors at work for many years, I decided to try out a projector at home. Since I run a sideline business in addition to my 9-to-5’er, occasionally I need to have a meeting at home and would prefer to present from my desktop in the office than on my TV by way of Airplay. So I decided to give the Epson VS355 a try. Setup was simple. Epson includes a CD with an “installer” which installs little more than a link to their website. If you want to use one of the utility software available, those must be downloaded from their website. No other documentation was included so the CD is of little value. The menus are easy to navigate and buttons clearly labeled. There are adjustments for height, focus, zoom and keystone as most projectors have. But the Epson stands above in providing an adjustment for angle. In case your setup should cause you to have to project the image at a less than head on alignment, you can compensate for the angle of projection. Similar to keystone adjustment but on the X axis. I was able to test the projector on both a Windows 7 PC and an iMac. Both produced very good results with their own little respective quirks. I first connected to a Win7 PC by way of VGA. The image is crisp and clear (after adjusting the focus) and super bright. I wasn’t really sure how 3300 lumens would translate into actual brightness in my setting, but I was impressed just how bright this thing is! Whites are so white, colors are vivid and no amount of ambient light was able to distract from what I was projecting. One negative artifact that I noticed is that if you use a dark grey desktop background, you might notice a slight pulsing top to bottom. One additional helpful feature that is accessed from the configuration menus is the test pattern. This projects a grid with a circle that helps you to adjust the trims to get the truest image possible, free of warping or distortion. Just for laughs I also tried projecting on my kitchen wall. The wall is painted with a darker shade of green. The wall was being blasted with so many Photons that it overpowered the paint color. In areas of white there remained only a very slight greenish tint. But in other color areas it was difficult to notice much difference. Then, just as a test, I decided to play a DVD. The folks at BestBuy warned me when I ordered this unit that it was not at all designed or intended to be a home cinema type of projector. I accepted this as it is not my intended use. But I just had to try. Considering that the max resolution is 1280 x 800 you cannot have any delusions of a 4K experience. But it did a beautiful job displaying a DVD at 720p. Again, you should not purchase this if you want a home theater projector. But it can do a decent job in a pinch. The three software utilities that I found on the website are: iProjection - allows multiple PC’s to connect wirelessly with the projector (Win/Mac); Project Management Utility - allows remote configuration (Win only); and the USB Utility - allows you to connect by USB instead of VGA or HDMI (Win/Mac). On the Win7 PC I attempted to use the audio inputs by way of a 3.5mm to RCA cable. I couldn’t seem to get the audio to actually play. But I generally tend to use much better speakers for any presentation so this isn’t much of an issue. I do know that the audio is working and will cover that in the iMac portion. So I shut the PC and VS355 down so that I could disconnect and move it to the office for a trial with my Mac. When I shutdown the projector, there was no cooling off period where it would run the fan for seconds or minutes to cool it down as with other projectors that I have used. I’m not sure if it’s necessary or not, but it is a slight concern around bulb life. I connected it with a Thunderbolt to VGA adapter. My mac immediate noticed the different display attached and YUCK! It tried to match the resolution. After a little fiddling, and telling the Mac not to mirror but to treat it as a separate display and space, all was well. Again I experienced bright, clear images with no flicker or noise. Since it was so super bright, I switched it to “Economy” mode. This dimmed the image noticeably, yet was still plenty bright for my use in my office. It also dropped the fan noise to about half what it was before. The economy mode will increase the bulb life dramatically, and unless you enjoy staring at the sun you will be pleased with its output. This brings up another important note. Fan noise is considerable when in full blast mode, but economy mode makes it much less noticeable. Again, this is intended for business presentations and NOT home theater. So then I just had to try the USB connection as I would prefer to connect it that way leaving my Thunderbolt ports free for drives and other displays. I loaded the utility, connected a USB A-B cable (not included) and the projector sensed the different input and automatically switched. Again, the image displayed was bright and clear with a couple of caveats. On my iMac, the USB connection will only allow you to mirror the primary display. You cannot set it up as a second workspace. Which for most, will be totally acceptable. The other negative aspect is that if you need to play a video as part of your presentation, the USB interface doesn’t have the bandwidth available to be as good as the VGA connection. The video will be a lower frame rate and a bit choppy, yet still acceptable. On the plus side, the audio on the USB connection works flawlessly. Better than you would expect from a 2” 1W speaker. Summary: The VS355 from Epson is a fantastic projector for SOHO or regular office environments. It’s bright and clear image will be admired by most. The controls are simple and useful. It’s definitely a keeper!

This was easy to set up and I have used it to show photos to friends and families. It projects well on a white wall and screen. There is no need to buy a special case. I use the cardboard box it came in to transport it.

Our boy scouts give presentations regularly. This projector is what we needed. It was a bother to borrow one. We are able to use this is larger halls with dim lights. The only short fall is that the volume is not loud enough for a small hall.

With its portability, bright light, crisp images, and easy to use features, this is a great projector for the office. The size and weight are typical for a portable projector, meaning it will fit into a large computer bag for portability. When running, the fan is quiet and non-intrusive. There are connections for any standard input type, and it can read files and present directly from a USB stick (with properly formatted files), offering a great deal of flexibility. The image is bright enough to use in a well-lit room. I've had it in presentation mode in a room that is windows on two sides in the middle of the day, and the image is very easy to see. Darken the room, and it's even sharper. Setup is a breeze, with the only non-intuitive part being changing / accessing the settings menu items without the remote. The ability to show split images is great. I've used this to show a PowerPoint deck from my laptop while simultaneously drawing images and projecting them from an iPad. While not something you'd use every day, it is very useful in some circumstances. While I've used this as primarily a separate monitor, it also makes a nice makeshift home theater projector. The 720 resolution will not wow a theater buff, but it's good enough to show movies, pictures, or videos for more casual users. The excellent visibility in well-lit spaces means it won't get washed out, even during the day. The only thing that would be even better would be a wider range of image sizes. While there is a wide/telephoto adjustment, it's a pretty narrow shift. Since placement of the projector is frequently determined by physical limits, it would be great if the image could be made even smaller while projecting from a long distance. The quality is excellent, the features are useful, and the device works very well. If you're looking for a portable projector for work or your home, this is an outstanding choice.

I've used many EPSON projectors from their higher business lines, and some of their more basic units. When it comes to presentation/business projectors, this is a VERY nicely equipped model. It has audio, but its the kind of audio quality you'd expect from a 1W integrated speaker. The bulb seems pretty strong - VERY bright, even in window-lit and fluorescent-lit rooms. It really shines in a darkened room, but I found the default brightness to be too much for such a scenario. The ECONOMY setting works better for dark conference rooms (or windowless rooms where the lights are cut for a presentation). This will also inadvertently extend the bulb life to over 10K hours! The unit itself is quite small and portable and has BARELY NOTICEABLE fan noise. This thing is quieter than any other I've seen or tested. Considering the segment its produced for, the 1280X800 native (or pushed to 1440X1050) resolution is adequate and typical for the use case. Setting this thing to 1280x720 and using it with some movies was actually quite good also. I had good motion and picture quality when using it for movies, but likely not the state-of-the-art if your goal is a value projector for your basement projector rig. The replacement lamps for this unit run between $40-60 though and with potential 10K hour life, its not unheard of to use this as a permanently mounted entertainment screen, as long as you've got alternatives for audio and 720p resolution is your goal. (again, it looks really good and works well for what its capable of). I enjoyed playing with the split-screen function (multi-input) which would be useful in a conference room scenario where room-based technologies and local presenters wanted to share the big screen. Maybe in multi-camera video conferences or the like. In short this is a great, good looking business projector that's portable and durable. Has some interesting differentiated features, and works as intended, as well as offering lifecycle costs well below some of its competitors.

I was totally amazed at the clarity and brightness of the Epson VS355 portable projector. I have set up quite a few in conference rooms for work, and this was one of the simplest. Since this unit has a HDMI port, that's what I use. The resulting picture quality is amazing. Even on a antique white painted wall the white and black contrast was perfect. As well as HDMI the EPSON VS355 also has an RGB and composite input. Using the HDMI the projector's built in speaker sounded load and clear Key-stoning allows for the to be expected adjustment for up/down and side to side squaring of the image. Easy to use and nicely placed on the lens. Full wide to telephoto adjustment means you can mount it fairly far prom the screen and still get a usable viewing image. Again as expected, the built in mounting screws allow this to be hung from the proper ceiling mount. Unit comes with a remote to power on/off the unit, select input modes, speaker volume and other useful functions. (pointer, input, zoom, mute, etc,.) My only complaint is the cooling fan. It tends to be a tad loud, but it is rarely noticeable.

Lots of value for the money! Lightweight, bright, HiDef Picture with great color. Also has both HDMI digital AND VGA Analog Signal Inputs. - Compact size means small speaker - So, For bigger sound we connect WonderBoom speakers to our iPads & Laptops -

I normally purchase the EX line of Epson projectors but decided to give the VS line a try. The VS355 is a capable projector that meets my needs. I don't miss the wireless or MHL support found in the EX line and am glad I saved a few dollars by going with the VS355. Surprisingly, I do miss the cheap soft carrying case Epson includes with the EX projectors.
