A Workhorse for the Small Workplace

As a small business owner I need a printer that is efficient and low maintenance — the ET-16500 fits the bill perfectly. To start, setup is extremely simple — unpack, fill the ink, add paper, connect via wi-fi or ethernet, add the printer in your computer’s setting, done. Anyone can set this printer up without a problem. I own and operate a small consulting firm and most of my printing consists of printing 2-sided, multi-page presentations for my clients. I love the speed and print quality. Even in the “normal” quality setting, this printer is truly laser quality and it cranks out 2-sided copies extremely fast. Going to the highest quality setting will slow it down but I find normal quality to be excellent so that is all I use. The two, large capacity paper trays allow me to print my presentations in bulk and not be concerned about adding paper mid-way in the process. The scanning is a huge deal for me. Aside from printing client presentations, I run a paper-less office and the scanner on this printer is amazing… fast, accurate and crisp. The scanner has saved me countless hours per week due to it’s speed and efficiency. And, it handles large paper sizes for scanning! Copies are excellent. I couldn’t tell which was the original on one of my copies. And finally, the ink capacity is awesome. I have been putting the printer through it’s paces and the ink levels are barely budging. I only have one criticism of this printer and that’s with filling the ink. I love the idea of refilling with liquid ink because it lasts longer and I don’t have to swap costly cartridges. However, the method for filling the ink could be improved so there is no chance or concern with spilling, dripping or splashing. When I filled the tanks I had to be very careful and remove expensive items so they didn’t get dripped on by accident. To be fair, I didn’t drip or spill but I had to be more cautious than would otherwise be necessary. This is a review for the Epson ET-16500 EcoTank that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

    Work Horse Printer

EPSON calls this a Workforce printer, but it is truly a Workhorse printer. It will easily satisfy the complete document management needs of a small business, and is especially suited to graphic design or architectural firm. It is true network printer, not only connecting easily both to wired and wireless networks, but allowing printing over the Internet using the printer’s unique email address. You can also print directly from your smartphone using the EPSON Print app. The printer comes with two trays and handles 8 1/2 X 11 inch paper and 11 X 14 inch paper and can print double-sided.Text output is sharp and laser-quality. In addition, using the printer’s rear feed slot, paper up to 13 X 19 inches can be used. I have tested the printer with this large format on PremiumPhoto paper and the results were spectacular. The photo quality would satisfy all but the most exacting fine-art photographers. But even the photo quality on plain paper was surprisingly good. In addition to this, it is also a fax and high-quality scanner. But, of course, one of the most attractive features if the Eco-Tank Ink system. The unit comes with four ink tanks (Black, Yellow, Cyan and Red). Once filled, the ink lasts for a year, and two sets are included, giving you two years worth of ink. Not only is this feature economical, but protects the environment by eliminating the disposal of empty ink cartridges. Setting up the printer was easy, but as recommended, using gloves while filling the tanks prevents nasty stains. Joining the wireless network was breeze, and I never bothered to connect an ethernet cable. The printer goes through a 20-minute ink priming cycle and was then ready. The entire process of unpacking the unit, filling the tanks and charging the ink took less than an hour. While more expensive than most printers, it will save money in the long run and its multiple features and high-quality output make it worth the price. This is a review for the Epson ET-16500 EcoTank that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. I was pleasantly surprised upon receiving this printer. Ive been using an all in one print/copy/scan/fax station for several years now for my small business needs. My three biggest complaints with my previous stations were ink cartridge waste and consumption, paper capacity, and print speed/quality. The Epson ET-16500 answered these complaints in a big way. The two paper trays are reasonably sized; and having two of them means I can keep both standard paper and card stock loaded without having to switch them out between print jobs. Print speed may not be as fast as a commercial copier but it is easily faster than my previous printers and capable of keeping up with my needs. And finally the ink tanks. This is my favorite feature. Among all of the fancy hardware and sleek features, the refillable ink tanks are easily my favorite. No more 1/4 full cartridges going in the trash and bulk ordering packages of cartridges that leave two of one color sitting in my shelf. With this printer you simply buy bottles of ink and refill the tanks as needed. One more feature that struck me was how easily it integrated into my wireless network. I can now print all my sheets, docs, and pdfs straight from my cell phone, tablet, and laptop without any trouble at all.

I have had many inkjets over the years and I like the quality. But I find changing the ink all the time to be a pain. Among all of this printer’s great qualities, without question, its best quality is the fact the you basically never have to change the ink! When you first open the printer, there are clear instruction on how to fill the ink tanks. It was very easy to do (I was a bit afraid that I would spill it when pouring it in but they make it fairly hard to mess up). Once the ink is filled, this printer will print over 10,000 color or B/W pages without changing ink. I will never be told by my printer again that I have run out of Megenta. Crazy! The printer is faster than my previous printers and the touch screen is intuitive. It was easy to set up. I used the enclosed disc to set up the printer and the directions we simple. So I had no problem following the steps. I have a small quilting company so I was concerned that the printers color would not be as good given the big ink wells, but the image quality is awesome and the unit can handle large format pages too. This is a review for the Epson ET-16500 EcoTank that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review This is such a user-friendly printer. Once I unpackaged and set up the printer, getting the software downloaded for WIFI connection was only a few steps. It performs with a commercial capacity but with a small office appeal. Loading the ink cartridges was straight forward and the ink reservoirs are large enough to hold plenty of ink which attributes to not having to reload ink often which is handy. The paper cartridges are nice and spacious which is great to not have to reload paper all the time, plenty of room to put half a ream or paper. The touch screen is very legible and easy to navigate in all the menus. This is a fantastic printer and would highly suggest it to all my friends !

Epson ET-16500 EcoTank This is a review for the Epson ET-16500 EcoTank that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. PROS: Easy setup. No ink cartridges. Convenient design. CONS: Heavy and bulky for one person. Ink reservoirs could get messy. In early October 2016, I received an Epson ET-16500 EcoTank for review. The shipping box it comes in weighed in at 62lbs and showed some damage from shipping (styrofoam brackets were broken in several places and the box had a hole in it). Pulling it out of the box was not difficult for me, but it should really take two people to pull out. Since this was a review device, only the printer, ink, and power cable were present. Using the setup guide, installation was easy. The printer ink comes in bottles that are poured into reservoirs in the printer. One small problem: the bottles have to be squeezed to get the liquid ink to flow, which causes small splashes and got some ink on my fingers. A better bottle design wouldn't hurt. Once the printer is powered on, it takes 20 minutes for the printer to perform a self setup. Nothing is requied by the user except to wait. Loading paper was easy. One helpful feature was that the printer asks what kind of paper is loaded every time the drawer is opened, so if you load a legal size or an envelope, there is less risk of a mistaken printout. Once I loaded ink and paper into the printer, connecting it to the network was fast and simple. The control panel is a touchscreen about the size of a standard smartphone that is well lit. I used the wireless login to my home network that went quickly and worked on the first try. If you want to use a wired setup, network, phone, and USB options are available in the back with USB and memory card slots located in the front. Attempting to use my iPhone wirelessly with the printer has not been successful, yet. I printed several photo and printer test sheets and pictures that I found on the internet. Printing was fine for a couple pages, but any longer documents may get time consuming. This is a larger printer, sized for 11x17 inch paper, so it needs to have a sturdy base to sit on; the print head moving back and forth causes some side-to-side force. I am not an expert in documents or graphics, but print quality seemed very good, comparable to the Samsung laser printer that I used before the Epson. Scan quality was only 300dpi that I could get from the Microsoft app, but that might be something I'm doing wrong. Colors seemed slightly washed out from the originals during the scan. Fax capabilities were not tested. This was only an initial review for the printer, long term reliability (especially the new ink system) will remain to be seen. But compared to the Samsung I had before, this is a big improvement.

    An Outstanding multi-function printer

This is a review for the Epson ET-16500 EcoTank that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review This unit came well packaged with enough support to ensure no damage. Included in the box is the printer, eight bottles of ink (the blacks are extra large ones), a disk with drives and information, a power cable and some printed documentation. It took maybe 15 minutes to unpack and put in place with a little help as it is 55 pounds. The screen led me thru setting language, location, date, time etc and so forth. I had already loaded the ink which has me apprehensive at first. I laid out a piece of plastic under it, put on latex gloves and got some paper towels expecting the worst. Imagine my surprise when none of that was needed and not one drop was misplaced. The design of the ink fill system leaves plenty of room with high visibility so you can see when the tanks are full by the level line on each. The ink bottles are easy to work with as they flow slow enough to be easily controlled and foolproof. They are easy to cap and that cap stays on darn well – I put one capped bottle in a plastic bag and dropped it a few times with no leakage. The unit allows for usb, wired and wireless Ethernet. My existing and previous units both had problems and/or less functionality with wireless so that is what I tried first. The setup wizard makes this an easy job and the unit retained full functionality. I had downloaded the latest drivers from Epson and that install was quick with no errors or problems. At the end it asks if you want to check for updates automatically and allows you to set the interval with a quick click. At some stage it informed me that there was new firmware and I allowed that to be installed as well. It did it perfectly with no required interaction once I let it start. Both the on unit screen and the computer software is full featured with many presets that allow you to alter them at will. I did try USB and wired Ethernet as well then returned to wireless. It comes with two paper trays that allow for a multitude of sizes and types of paper. The trays slide freely and the paper guides are as so easy to set and use with no drag. All the inputs work as advertised and are placed for easy use. Printing is fast, quiet and sharp with vivid colors. Fast grayscale printing was very good and on par with the standard output of my existing printer. Every function works – most with a simple push of a button on the screen. I did end up lowering the density a bit with no loss of the fabulous output. Simply said this unit has the best output I have ever seen in such a printer. I like to print my photo’s and these came out in professional quality. I did call tech support to get a feel of what it is like and was pleasantly surprised. I tend to do this before a purchase. My call was answered quickly and I had a knowledgeable tech on the phone in four minutes. The queue updates you on the wait and that time is fine with me. I was very happy to hear the tech explain a feature quickly – he knew what he was saying without digging for a reference. Ink is a major expense of inkjets and this bottle system will lower those costs a lot. I really like this unit and it has now replaced my one year old printer. I highly recommend it.

This is a great printer for numerous reasons. For starters, it is easy to set up (although connecting to network was a bit problematic). The ink doesn't need to be replaced quickly but is a little more painful to load. The printing quality is absolutely fantastic. The addition of multiple trays is helpful, especially in an office setting. Even if it is a bit pricey, it is a printer that you would not be disappointed with. Less ink cartridges without sacrificing quality

The size and options that this printer has makes it a little intimidating, however it is surprisingly easy to operate. The ink tanks are super easy to fill, the app is easy to connect and use and the print quality is great. Ink tanks - I really like the idea of ink tanks over the ink cartridges. It seems like ink cartridges never last as long as they should and as an artist, I am printing something everyday. So, when I saw this ink tank idea, I had to try it! The ink tanks are very easy to fill - simply open the bottle and fill the coordinating tank. You need to pay close attention to which bottle of ink you are putting in which tank because if you put the wrong ink in the wrong tank, you will have a problem. The bottles and tanks are clearly labeled, so this should not be a problem. I have printed many pictures and other documents since I got my printer and the ink level has not moved. The ink tanks make it easier for me to keep track of the ink levels and it is very inexpensive to buy more bottles of ink. Less ink cartridge use is also better for the environment. The app and the software that is included with this printer is easy to install and easy to navigate. The printer hooks up to a wireless network or can be plugged in directly. Wireless connecting to a network is very easy and is virtually plug and play. I have had zero problems connecting and using printing options with my laptop and my husband has not had any problems printing from his tablet and phone. Epson has been known in the artist community for superior quality prints. Many artists, myself included, use Epson printers to create their own prints from their paintings. This Epson printer lives up to the Epson print quality. As a plus, it uses Precision Core technology which creates professional quality photos faster. The days of standing at the printer and waiting for the picture to print are over. I have not timed the print speed yet but I would say it prints within seconds. Fast enough that, if i print wirelessly from one room, by the time i walk into the room to the printer, it is done printing. Overall, a great printer! I'm excited about the ink tanks and paying less for ink while not sacrificing quality. It has many options that are easy to use. This is a review for the Epson ET-16500 EcoTank that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. I was surprised when I received this printer. It's a well built machine, and larger than I expected, but it's a workhorse. I've used several all-in-one devices over the years, but all were home office models, and I'd burn through them every year or two. Parts would break, ink would be come prohibitively expensive, and I continually needed more and more quality and features approaching a business grade device. This printer meets these needs. The paper trays are large, and having multiple trays means that I can keep both standard and large format paper stocked. This is critical in my office for lengthy contracts and paperwork. The printer prints cleanly and crisply, and I wouldn't hesitate to run small production runs of flyers or things of that nature on the device. The print speed is competitive with other printers in it's class. Like other printers these days, it easily networks with other equipment over wifi ir ethernet, and can handle printing over airplay from my iOS devices. It has a usb port on the front with a basic interface for printing from flash drives, a truly nice feature. Copying and scanning are both fast as well. The printer can print double sided, which is a lifesaver when I'm used to having to manually flip pages for double sided printing... this printer is truly built with economy in mind. The best feature is the unique liquid ink delivery system. Instead of ink carts that expire or are cost prohibitive to replace, the printer contains several large liquid tanks for simply filling with more ink. A starter pack of ink is included, but replacement ink is cheap. Each color is separate, so you can easily refill only the colors which are needed. My only complaint is this printer really requires 2 people to safely setup. It ships as a 62lb box, and the way the printer is built is not conducive for one-person handling when installing.

    High Performance All-in-one Printer

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This is a really great quality all-in-one printer with excellent ease-of-use and a high level of performance in each of its functions. It is easy to set up and operate, thanks to a large color touch-screen navigation. I’ve had many difficulties with conventional office all-in-one printers in the past with their convoluted navigation, but with this printer I never had to wonder what the instruction on the screen actually meant, or which button I should press next. Also, I was quite impressed with the quality of the prints. Text and graphics were sharp and clear, and photographic images were really decent. It still won’t match a printer specifically designed to print high-quality photographic images, but the quality was much higher than what I expected. Probably the best feature of this printer, even though I still have not been using this enough to feel the benefit of it, is the eco-tank system, which holds up to 2 years worth of ink. I remember I used to have to spend hundreds of dollars on ink cartridges to print my portfolio. Of course, image-heavy project like that will deplete ink much more than regular use, but still, it will surely save you a lot of money, especially when replacement ink bottles are about the same price as cartridges. The only complaint I have so far is that the paper trays are bit cranky. The upper tray sometimes does not want to go all the way in, and I have to push hard to put it in place. Also if you have the paper catcher extended, it gets in the way of pulling out the upper paper tray. This gets little annoying when you are frequently switching between different sizes or types of paper. Overall, this printer at the cost of $1,000 seems expensive. But considering the quality you are getting and the amount you would save on ink, it might actually be a pretty good deal, especially if you use it a lot. This printer does a really nice job with day to day office jobs. Much faster and with higher resolution than expected. The multiple paper trays, high speed, and deep ink-wells make it ideal for our small-business office. And the color, though a tad oversaturated, is crisp enough for us to use to print occasional promotional materials. Set up was super easy and the fact that you can connect wirelessly without going through the server or the pain of extended set-up time was a relief.

I work for a small HVAC company and it helps to have a printer / scanner at my house for when I can't make it to the office. This printer does everything I could ever need it to and more. I was a bit concerned that setting the printer up would be difficult, but the instructions were very easy to follow. It only took about a half hour to get it up and running and connecting it to my wireless network was a breeze. I was a bit nervous about using ink bottles as opposed to cartridges, but filling the reservoirs was much simpler than i had thought. It's also nice knowing exactly how much ink you have left without having to remove anything or run an ink check. This printer definitely needs to be on a very stable table, as it is somewhat heavy and a less stable platform will sway a bit while printing. Photo quality was quite good even on regular paper. I don't print a lot of photos at home so I didn't have any photo paper. Mostly I just print reports and mechanical drawings. As such, the The ability to use multiple paper sizes for this has been invaluable The print quality for documents is fantastic, and the printing software is very user-friendly. I have not yet had an opportunity to use the scanner feature, but when I do I will be sure to update this review. If I had any complaint it would be that this printer might be a little overpowered for my needs, but I would much rather have too much than not enough. Overall, I would highly recommend this printer for either business or personal use. This is a review for the Epson ET-16500 EcoTank that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

This Epson ET-16500 EcoTank Wireless Wide-format Color All-in-One Supertank Printer is a truly wonderful printer for the small to medium-size office. The printer comes in a very large box! The actual printer is quite big and takes up a great bit of table space. It took me 45 minutes to get the printer unboxed, and up and running. It prints fast and the colors did not run together and the pages were dry to the touch immediately after printing. I also like how I can scan to any device hooked to my network from the touch screen. I can also scan to the web, my Google account and access the scan at any location. The top load scanner works easily and also does double sided scans and copies without taking an excessive amount of time to process. Since the initial setup, I have not had any paper jam issue with this printer and I have almost used a whole ream of paper with it. The features I like best is it comes with two trays and handles 8 1/2 X 11-inch paper and 11 X 14-inch paper that can print double-sided. Text output is very sharp and has great laser-quality. In addition, using the printer’s rear feed slot, paper up to 13 X 19 inches can be used. It is the fastest inkjet printer that I have ever used. The color touch screen on the printer makes setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting easy. Also, has the ability to print and scan from my android or IOS devices, google cloud. Epson has created a beautiful and well-designed printer. It is a pleasure to use and I think it has been designed to last a long time. It is the true network printer, not only connecting easily both too wired and wireless networks but allowing printing over the Internet using the printer’s unique email address. I do recommend!! I received this product for testing purposes. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

This printer has been a fantastic asset for my small press! The 13”x19” capacity lets me print out full two page spread mockups of photo-intensive cookbooks for proofing and layout critique. Holding a page that size in your hand is a completely different experience from editing on a screen. As a publisher, I regularly print hundreds of pages for both text editing and mockups. In addition to the gorgeous large capacity printing (which I LOVE) the two paper trays let me switch back and forth from standard size printing to large scale without having to change paper. As someone who regularly prints book length manuscripts, I’m also really happy with the 500 sheet high capacity tray. Setup was a breeze. In the time it took to download the drivers I’d filled the ink and paper. From there it needed about 20 minutes to charge the ink tanks for the first time. Meanwhile, it connected to my WiFi with no problem. I’m able to print big manuscript length projects from my laptop or desktop as well as smaller projects and downloaded documents from my phone or iPad. I wish more tech in my life was able to talk to all my computers and mobile devices as seamlessly as this printer. The best part for me is the incredible ink capacity. I’ve printed hundreds of large format, full color, photo intensive pages and it’s not even close to running out. If you have high volume printing needs, the Eco-Tank design is a great alternative to changing high capacity ink cartridges on a weekly basis. I really like this machine. The large scale printing and wireless connectivity to all my devices solves so many small needs in one admittedly big package. (I cleared a 2.5 foot by 3 foot space on a sturdy table for it.) Full disclosure: This is a review for the Epson ET-16500 EcoTank that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Personal or Business this printer has you covered

I received this printer and immediately set it up. The instructions were very thorough and provided step-by-step instructions that was easy to follow. I am used to standard ink cartridges so I was a bit intimidated by having to fill the tanks myself but it was simple and made no mess. It does come with two bottles of each color, which is far more ink than any other printer I have purchased before. When you need to do a lot of printing you do not have to worry about constantly filling the color, we all know we hate that dreaded “change ink cartridge” error. The Epson Ecotank all in one printer has helped you out. After filling the tanks, I turned it on and got started. I did receive a paper jam error during set-up that did not allow me to go forward. There is a work-around if this happens to you. Make sure the cord located in the printer head is not covering the sensor. Simply separate the two so they are not next to each other. My husband and I own our own business and that requires a lot of printing. Our printing needs vary and it can require us to print on different size paper. It has two separate paper trays that allow us to print standard or legal size paper without constantly switching out paper. It has a touch screen that is easy to navigate and use. We have used it to print wirelessly and have not encountered issues. We never had a printer with this many functions. We can see how this printer will help us save time thanks to the easy navigation and quick printing. It will also help us save money by not having us buy more ink every couple weeks like we had done previously. If you are looking for an easy to use all in one printer, you have found it. It is the best printer we have used in years. This is a review for the Epson ET-16500 EcoTank that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

I'm in love with the Ecotank

There are too many features to describe in a quick review of this printer, so I’ll concentrate on my favorites. As versatile and powerful as this printer is, the feature that has really impressed me is the Ecotank. I quit using ink jet printers several years ago because every time I needed to print something, I’d have an empty ink cartridge. With the new Ecotank system, I can fill the tanks and forget about them. Every time I need to print I can count on the printer being ready and full of ink. The one set of ink is estimated to last for 10,000 to 11,000 printed pages! The cost savings are great, but the simple fact that you can always count on the printer to be ready is a life changer. I love the huge paper sizes (11 X 17 or 13 X 19) and the 11 x 17 scanner. Two paper trays means I can use the larger paper sizes while still having normal sized paper always available. This printer has all the communication protocols to print directly from any device and even remotely. The LCD display makes the printer easy to use and the feature set lets this printer replace your copier and fax machine. The print quality and speed are both impressive and the black and white prints rival a laser printer. I can’t think of anything I’d need or want from a printer that is not included in this printer. I am very pleased with the quality of this printer. In general, it offers nearly all of the critical features that I am looking for in a small business printer/all in one. Pros -Easy to install the driver -Great print quality (I was initially concerned that the ink wells would somehow reduce print quality but they did not) - Good photo print quality (not as good as some of the higher end photo printers, but as good as any small business printer I have seen) - Less ink AND less paper loading (this was the BEST thing about the printer. The ink wells allow you to print 11,000 pages without changing ink AND the large paper feeder allows 500 pages so its far more convenient than ANY inkjet I've ever had) - Can print larger pages (we print a lot of 11x17 - this made it easy) - Reliable scanner feature - I have printed several hundred pages already and have not had any errors or jams. (I have tried the back feeder and the top feeder as well as the main paper feeder.) Cons - Had a bit of initial trouble with wireless set up - It took a bit longer to load the initial ink (you have to pour the ink into the inkwells. But it is MUCH easier once that is done and it Epson made it fairly easy to do. This is a review for the Epson ET-16500 EcoTank that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

    Workforce Printer

The Epson - WorkForce ET-16500 EcoTank® Wide Format Wireless All-in-One Printer is an overall great printer. It was extremely easy to setup upon opening. Following the in box directions as well as the directions on screen the printer setup was a breeze. The initial setup took roughly half an hour- Charging the ink takes about 20 minutes (Most of the time)- after that the printer was roaring and ready to go. At almost 60 pounds this printer is light enough for one person to carry, but heavy enough to handle any print job you throw at it. With two trays for paper you can always keep regular 8.5”X11” in the bottom tray and 4”x6” photo paper in the top tray. Making switching back and forth a breeze. The printer is also fully wireless- If your like me and scan papers very often... This printer will automatically upload items into your google drive allowing for seamless household and work integration. Overall I have not run into any issues with this printer and I believe it will continue to be a great printer for many years to come! If you have any questions regarding this printer feel free to comment and I will try my hardest to answer them (: I received this printer from a beta test completely free in return for my review. This has not altered the my view towards this printer in any way.
