I've been a longtime HP printer guy (for approximately two decades) and I'm just not impressed with the printers anymore. I last bought the HP Photosmart Premium Fax e-All-in-One Printer - C410a about 3 1/2 years ago at Costco. My wife and I are both in college and our two kids (one in high school, the other in middle school) use the printer a lot for various writing projects, etc., and it seems like we are burning thru ink cartridges at a high rate. I've witnessed firsthand the steady price increase, which we also buy at Costco, of replacement ink. This is what prompted me to try something new, something other than an HP printer. After doing an extensive search online, I discovered the Epson Workforce WF-3640. Being an HP printer guy for so long, I was still hesitant at first, but decided it was time for a change. My wife and I (and the kids too) simply love this printer. I like the design and look of the printer, I love having two paper trays (for a total of 500 pages), and I love having actual buttons on the printer when they're needed. I'm so glad we made this purchase! I would recommend this printer to everyone I know! *And one last thing - replacement ink cartridges are about half the cost of the previous HP printer ink cartridges. Yes, we'll be buying the EPSON ink cartridges at Costco too, but we'll be paying half the cost!

With its fast color printing, wireless network connectivity, multi cartridge ink this printer is great for any home office. This isn't advertised as a photo printer but the quality of it print production can definitely not only handle all office tasks but your photo prints too. The setup is easy regardless if your proficient with connecting electronics or computer equipment. Note to the wise: Since this Epson is primarily set up for wireless network connection (Which allows you to print from desktops, laptops, tablets and even smartphones) the USB wire, which may be required during setup, is not included. i advise you to purchase one just in case. Better safe than sorry. Prints fast in either full color or black to enhance productivity. Prints a variety of sizes and types of high quality documents (double-sided included) . Same for photos if you have correct paper and use the simple to follow instructions for adjustments. Memory card and USB jump drive reader for document or photo print jobs. Scan, Copy, Fax and Print all in one with this monster. A little large but if you have the space a great buy!! I am glad I bought this Epson!!

Okay, first things first. This printer uses a new kind of ink, one that doesn't smudge or bleed if the paper gets wet! With that, only use Epson ink. Using generic ink will instantly void the warranty, as the printer knows and will ask you to acknowledge before it will print with aftermarket ink. Other than that bit of news, be prepared for an awesome all in one, that prints double sided. It holds a whole team between the two feed trays, which are capable of holding legal size, and a separate feed for even longer paper, like a banner. It prints from the cloud, so you can print from anywhere, not just from your network. Set up was easy, with the bright color screen, and it has been stingy on ink, lasting way longer than I expected on the starter cartridges. It costs about $75 for the 4 color pack of XL cartridges, which is comparable to other inks, but like I said, it's stingy, they don't bleed, and no smudging. Plus, I got it on sale for $99!

Prints great! Easy to set up and use. Separate ink cartridges. Dual paper trays makes it great for not having to refill paper constantly. Wireless printing is one of my favorite features. The copier allows both the paper feed and scan options. Fax built in is great on those occasions when you need it. Durable. Reliable. Highly Recommended.

I bought this after thoroughly researching reviews of other printers. The features I like on this are: Full size ink cartridges with new printer, 3 color cartridges (so you only replace the color that is actually empty), Airprint for my iPad, wireless connection, 2 sided printing. Was very easy to set up. Prints much faster than my 2 year old Kodak. It also has 2 paper trays. I use one for envelopes.

Very fast, excellent quality and two sides print feature is incredible. Scan /Copy function is fast and copy also includes two sides print. Fax is easy to use and the controls and control panel are simple too. The 250 sheet trays (two of them) means I don't keep filling up. Wireless worked right away. The machine is solid, not like many others on the market. There are many features that I may not use immediately, but for the price ...why not!

Not a bad office printer but not Laser quality

I purchased this machine for my office and it is a pretty decent printer with good scanning/copying and fax capabilities. The only reason why I did not give it five stars is because it is advertised as being "better than laser". It certainly is not better and not even close to equal. It is an inkjet. Runs, prints and everything else like an inkjet. Speed is ok at best and print quality is good for an inkjet, but, nowhere near laser. If you are looking for a good inkjet with good copy/fax functionality than you will be very pleased with this printer... If you are looking for a laser then keep looking because this is definitely not laser speed or quality.

I've had epson all in ones before but this is the best! It's really fast, has 2 separate drawers for paper so don't have to keep reloading and does everything you can possibly need - lots of paper sizes, wireless printing, fax option, etc etc. Refills are expensive but if you wait for a sale, they really last quite a while. I got this at $99, half price, and highly recommend!

doesn't get much better than this... - dual trays (you can use one for photo paper, the other for regular paper) - You can print from any device (connected to your home wifi network): phone, tablet, computer - Print quality is excellent - super affordable cost of both the printer and consumables

Purchased this a couple of months ago and so far, so good. It was easy to get set up and get working from several home PCs and our phones. Prints very quickly and doesn't make a ton of mechanical noise like our last printer.

Fairly quick to setup if you have had other printers, conection over wireless quick but if you have a older system may be harder to find the drivers. Not obvious how to set up passwords initially. Printing fast and clear, scanning ok, fax not set up. Unknown how long ink will last

The Epson WF-3640 = best printer I ever used!!!

I have used HP printers for over 20 years & thought they were the best, except for ink waste. I WAS WRONG - the WF-3640 is easier to set-up, takes less time to print after clicking print, prints fast, prints 2-sided easier & faster, has more features which you access in a straight forward manner, is quieter, prints good pictures on plain paper, and did I say uses less INK!!! And the price, before sale price, was the same as HP. I have had the printer for about 2 months, printed more than 500 pages, and simply enjoy using this printer. I am sold!!! I am an EPSON printer buyer from now on!!!!!

I love this printer. I've gone through many over the years. About 5 years ago I discovered the Epson WorkForce 840. Which I loved - both it's features (scan to .pdf, two trays so I could have paper in one and envelopes in the other) and especially reliability. Then about a year ago, it started to garble some of the printing. I was heartbroken (did I mention I loved this printer?). Unable to fix it, I looked for an exact replacement, but a new WF-840 was going for about $1000. Then I discovered that that was because it had been replaced, and the WF-3640 was the current version. So I bought it. Turns out it had the same problem. Which I eventually determined, with the help of Epson support, was a bad ethernet cable (I've got the printer wired to my router). So all is good. The WF-3640 is even better than my old WF-840, which is now at the home a friend merrily printing and scanning away.

After continually begin sick of HP printers always breaking down on me, I turned to Epson as my solution and I wasn't disappointed. The Epson Workforce WF-3640 has been an amazing printer. From taking it out of the box to being ready to print wirelessly only took about 15 minutes with the setup process being very easy. And having two printing trays on the front and one one the back made it easy for me to use for my work at home from one tray and for my family to be able to use the other for their needs. And the printing time is extremely fast. I would recommend this printer to anyone looking for a change in how printing should be done.

It does everything a printer can do and more. Did not know how easy scanning can be. Not only can scan, but can fax as well. Awesome! Changing the ink cartridges is as easy as can be and absolutely love the two paper trays. Not only am I impressed with the printer, but the price is outstanding. Several of my friends, are amazed by the features of the printer and the cost. Future customers will now come and see you.

Use it for home, set up was easy, WiFi connection to computer is fast, prints faster then my old Cannon Printer, ink seems to last, scans fast, haven't printed pictures so can't comment on quality..but I did't get it to print pics...cheaper to go to store for picture printing. A bit noisy and big but it works great so I am happy.

This all-in-one product does everything you'd need it to do. I previously had the WF-3540 but had a print head issue so had to replace it. This unit is pretty much the same with the controls being slightly different. This unit seemed to set up easier than my the WF-3540 did. Connected quickly to my network with no issues. Other than the print head going bad on the WF-3540, it was a great unit. Hopefully, this one will hold up a little better. Best Buy matched the price at Amazon with no problems. I also looked at the comparable Canon product but the Epson had a higher quality feel and was better built.

I have been an HP printer owner for many many years. Recently, our all-in-one ancient machine stopped working. I went to the store expecting to buy another HP. While in there a sales associate stopped and offered his assistance. He asked about our print habits, how many pages we print daily, etc. He reluctantly convinced me to try this Epson and I am happy that I did. Setup was easy, the print cartridges last so much longer than I am used to, it's fast, reliable, everything that I wanted. Great little printer!
