Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the excellent camera quality and ease of use of the Smart Wi-Fi Dual Cam Video Doorbell. Many appreciate the local storage option eliminating subscription fees, and find installation straightforward. However, some users note inconsistent motion detection and that the battery life requires periodic charging. The larger size of the doorbell compared to other models was also mentioned as a drawback by a few customers.

I absolutely love this doorbell I love all the smart features and my favorite feature is the dual camera one for normal use and the one that points directly at packages and actually send a notification that you have a package

Catch those furry little squirrels bathing in your dogs' water, or the neighbors dog looking for mischief. Of course it may also catch a criminal or package thief! Easily expand your views or go full size. Clear realtime audio, or you can mute the audio. I opted for wireless and am very impressed with battery life! Initial setup up is easy but Im still figuring out features and I consider myself sorta techy. I added another cam for the back yard and overall, completely satisfied with my choice.

Switch the Ring system to Eufy, so far many good things about this product. With the 2k 2 cameras system, the package protection and theft monitoring is quit a fave, the only down side are slow alert, i am not sure if the app or the internet connection, not instantly receive an alert like Ring. The alert came after the main event already pass. Like a mailman come, walk thru the driveway, drop the mail and leaving that when the alert start coming in. Hope Eufy send a software update to fix that issue. Overall quite well and like the system

It’s just overpriced junk. The first one would not connect to its homebase so they exchanged for a second one that at first take forever to charge until finally this week will just not charge at all. I wish I could have my money back. Stay away from this product. It doesn’t communicate with Apple and you can’t really use Alexa o see the cameras. You have to use their app, that actually works all right. But if you can’t charge your device you can’t use, and if you can’t communicate with the home base you can’t record from your camera. Also until you open the app and try to communicate , the person usually already left, so slow is the software.I will not buy anything from this brand again.

So i have had thisbitem for about 2 months now and it had worked great during the first few weeks. Now, its not relaying any motion detection af any sort. We had a few people come up to our door and this did nothing to recird or capture them at all. I reached out to customer support and am it looks like they are asking me for my address and proof of purchase to take the next step. I hope I dont have to replace them only to have it happen 3 months down the road.

Initial glitches but still a neat video doorbell

Video doorbells have taken off in popularity in the last few years and are becoming a base device for home security. Until now they’ve all worked the same with, in that you press the doorbell, and get an alert on your phone. Upon connecting, you see and talk to who’s at the door through the doorbell’s single camera lens. The Eufy Video Doorbell Dual evolves this by adding a second camera that is angled downward so you can see if any boxes have been left right at your door. Physically it’s a little larger than many due to the second camera at about 6.5 inches tall by 2.1 inches wide, and 1.1 inches thick. You first have to install it, and in my case, I had a very hard time getting it up and running. I already own a Eufy camera system that uses the same “base station 2” base that the doorbell does. It would not allow me to add the doorbell to the existing system. VERY long story and many emails with the mfg later, and I was told I had to use the base station that came with the unit (even though it’s the same as my existing base). So if this is your first Eufy device and you’re buying the doorbell and base together, you should not have a big issue with installation. If you are trying to add it to an existing system, you MIGHT have issues. Their rep told me it should be resolved in “1-2 months”. In my opinion, such things should be resolved before an item ships to customers. That being said… the reps were at least very friendly and helpful, so… moving on… After installing the Eufy security app and creating an account, you charge the doorbell with the included USB-C cable, pair it to the base station via the instructions (2.4 Ghz WiFi only unfortunately), attach the bracket to your home by the door (instructions included) and then slip the doorbell into the included bracket until it snaps in place (an angled bracket is also included that juts it out at an angle a bit for better views, depending on your porch). The app has preset settings, but will also give you full control over varied video quality and length settings per clip, motion detection on or off and it’s range and sensitivity, it being able to identify specific people (this worked so-so in my limited time to test this feature). When someone presses the doorbell button, your base station will chime (if you want it to) and you will also get an alert on your phone, where you can answer it and see who’s there, talk go them, etc. The main camera has a 2K resolution with a 160 degree field of view, which is pretty good, and added to this is the secondary lower camera which has a 1080p resolution and a 120 degree field of view. You can choose different viewing angles in the app but standard shows the bottom view under the top – they don’t quite line up so it looks a little disconnected, but between the two cameras you do get a good view of not only who you’re talking to, but also what is on the floor of the porch (boxes, mail, a stray Snake, etc). Video quality is on the decent side from both cameras, even at night where most of these devices fall on their faces, and sound quality is a little tinny, but still more than clear enough to have a conversation. I’d dare to say the main camera doesn’t really look “2K” in detail, but it does look better than some other doorbell cams I’ve seen. As with most if not all battery powered doorbells right now, there’s a slight delay between what you each say and when you hear it. When also using motion sensing (which you WILL need to spend time tweaking until it’s right for you), there was a slight delay as to when the doorbell picks up motion and when you get the alert for it. Facial recognition is offered and from what limited testing I could get in, was hit-and-miss, and can get thrown off by hats and sunglasses, it seems. There are several pre-recorded messages you can use that will play back to people when they ring the bell, or you can record your own short message (handy). Video storage is via 16 gigs built into the base station, so no subscriptions are needed. Eventually they will offer the ability to use a USB storage device plugged into the back of the base, and somewhere on their site it offers cloud storage, but most will use the base’s built-in. Battery life: I haven’t had it long enough to really get a good grip on the battery life. The one BAD thing is that you cannot swap the battery… it’s not removable. You have to remove the whole doorbell with an included pin and take it inside to recharge it when needed (a few hours). In the amount of time I spent trying to initially get it set up, it drained 10ish% or so, but in theory it should last up to 5 months if you have it in a low activity area. Of course, battery life will vary greatly depending on how many times the bell gets used per day, if you use motion sensing or not, and how you have those settings, etc. I really would however have loved to see a removeable battery design. Overall I would recommend this doorbell due to the image quality, dual cameras, and that it generally works better than some others I’ve tried out. My two biggest negatives being the non-removeable battery, and the glitches in setting it up. If you have an existing Eufy 2 series set and want to add it, I’d wait a bit until they have the glitches ironed out in order to be able to easily add it to that system. If you’re buying from scratch, get the doorbell with an included base station and you should be ok. I’m (barely) giving it 4 stars due to how unique and handy the two camera system is, but come close to knocking a star off due to the “not quite fully ready for prime time”, glitches.

Eufy Smart Wi-Fi Video Doorbell Dual Camera 2K Battery-Powered with Homebase is a brand new model, with an innovative approach to front door security and most importantly package delivery security. The setup instructions are easy to follow and physical installation is pretty much two screws…having said that, I did run into problems adding this Doorbell Dual to my existing eufy Security App / Smart Lock on my Android phone. Since I received the hardware early, the App version available at pre-release time did not recognize the QR code or serial number. I reached out to Anker support and after a few email exchanges they were able to send me a patched/beta version of the App that finally recognized the new hardware. A few days later, the official version 4.1.1.x for Android was released, so make sure you have that installed and also perform a firmware update and reboot of the HomeBase2. I installed this as a replacement for an older Ring Pro doorbell. The eufy Doorbell Dual Camera is much larger, mainly because it has two cameras and multiple sensors, as well a large battery pack that’s supposed to last 3-6 months between charges. Initially I wasn’t looking forward to taking the doorbell off the wall to recharge a few times per year, but as it turns I will not have to in my case because it also supports hard wiring to standard wired doorbells with a powered transformer which is what I already had. Image quality at 2k is superior and sound is also better being full duplex. Night vision is very good with two small white LEDs that are motion activated. The app offers tons of customizations, video and recording settings, notifications and alert settings for both cameras. The list would be too long to get into it in detail. One feature worth picking this over the competition is the local 16 GB of storage that comes with the HomeBase 2 add-on. So if you want to pay no monthly fees and not worry about your privacy being at risk in the cloud, the eufy Smart Wi-Fi Video Doorbell Dual Camera 2K Battery-Powered with Homebase 2 is the way to go.

Eufy is making some big strides in security and this doorbell is leading the way. First and foremost, unlike other doorbells, there is ZERO subscription cost. That means you'll only pay the cost of the doorbell upfront and nothing more. This reason alone is enough for me to choose Eufy over the competition. In fact this is my 3rd Eufy security product and 2nd Doorbell. This new doorbell is a very welcome improvement over their earlier version, with most of the improvement in its motion detection. With the sensitivity and motion zones set in the app, it sends alerts when it should and none when it shouldn't. This was especially an issue for me at night and even more so when it was also raining. So far I haven't received a single false alert at night. Unfortunately there hasn't been a rainy night yet since I've had this to test that out. But this doorbell also adds new features, most prominently the dual camera function. In addition to the regular camera, it has a second one pointing down to the ground specifically to keep an eye on packages. Although it kind of seems a bit gimmicky, it's quite useful, and lets you see parts of your porch that's out of view of the regular camera. What really ties it all together though is the Eufy Security app. Not only does it give you full control of the doorbell as well as allowing you to get a live view anytime and anywhere, it works with all the Eufy security products. As I said earlier, this is my 3rd Eufy product, and all 3 work with the same app, at the same time. Anytime I want I can open it up and look at what's going on in front of my house with this doorbell, in my driveway behind the garage with my Eufy floodlight cam, and soon my side porch which is where I plan to put my older Eufy doorbell that this dual cam version is replacing. While this doorbell isn't perfect, it's tough for me to find any faults. Install is easy, setting it up in the app is easy, using it is easy. It's a bit on the larger side as far as size since it has 2 cameras but that's getting really nit-picky. Only fault I could find is that the package detection feature is still new and has some room for improvement. Most of the time when there's an actual package delivered, and later picked-up, it works just like it should, which is an awesome feature honestly. I can't tell you how often I'm not home when a package comes and I'll be manually checking my doorbell cam constantly. Where it has an issue, is when you're just walking by carrying something. I'll walk out to get the mail and as I'm walking back it'll shoot off either a package delivered or package picked-up notification. Overall I can't say enough great things about this doorbell. I most definitely recommend it and plan on adding more Eufy security products to my home in the future. And did I mention no subscription costs?

This is my 3rd Eufy doorbell, and I have to say, this company’s products continue to improve. This doorbell is no different. While it does fall short in a few areas which I will get to later, it is still a very cool and functional video doorbell. Out of the box you will notice this doorbell is bigger than your average video doorbell (see attached picture). I’m assuming that’s to house the internal battery. There has been some confusion as to whether this model can be hard wired to your existing chime, and it can. There are the 2 screws on the back of it so you can wire it to your existing chime and that will also recharge your battery so you don’t have to take it off and charge it. That’s the option I went with. Setup was very easy following the instructions in the Eufy app. Just click to adda new device, scan the QR code on the back of the doorbell, and follow a couple more on screen prompts and you are good to go. Attaching it was very easy as well. It comes with all the screws, wires, and mounting plates you will need. This model connects to a base station (which is included) and that is where all the videos are stored. It also can be used as your doorbell chime as well as having a very loud alarm function you can use to scare off intruders. This has to be hard wired to your router with an ethernet cable, so be sure you have room to do that. Now let’s get to the functionality. This camera is loaded with a ton of features. Some of them work great, some of them, not so much. For starters, the camera. I find they both work great and are clear enough to easily pick up facial features to be able to identify whoever is at your door. The lower camera is a cool added feature. It can be moved side to side (just push the lens with your finger) and you can have it aiming right where you want it. It did a good job identifying when a package was left for me. It also gives you the option to message someone right from the app to pick up the package. So, if you have a neighbor or someone who is getting mail for you, you can easily send them a message. Unfortunately, the camera isn’t clear enough to be able to read a label. But it also has some false positives. I have an outdoor outlet cover that is in the cameras view and it keeps telling me that’s a package. Another feature they are testing out is facial recognition. I can tell you that if you have a covered porch or don’t have a bright light on people’s faces, this will not work for you. Our front porch faces north and is covered with a wall on one side so it’s usually pretty bright right behind it. There is a HDR feature you can turn on to help, but it still makes things too dark for the facial recognition to work. I put pictures and names of everyone in the household in the app and I have yet to get it to recognize anyone both during the day and at night. Maybe this will improve in the future, but right now, don’t expect it to work. Overall, im very happy with the camera and I am getting notifications whenever someone comes to the door and I have yet to get a false notification like I used to on my older Eufy doorbell. The AI features definitely need some work. I used to have cameras from another brand in the same location and they worked great at detecting peoples faces, so I know it can work, Eufy just needs to figure it out. I still think its definitely worth getting even with those shortcomings, so definitely give it a look if you’re looking for a doorbell camera. I almost forgot one of the best features…..no monthly fees!!!
