Great Grill - Frustrating Instructions

The FORCE grill from Everdure is a premium grill made from premium parts. I was looking to upgrade / replace my current 2-burner propane grill and I was looking for something that would last longer, look better, cook faster and overall make me enjoy grilling more. I'd read about the Everdure and Heston, the guy who designed the FORCE and FURNACE grills.
The Setup:
Getting the FORCE setup was challenging, owning to the instructions. They are both for the FURNACE and FORCE, the FURNACE being the larger 3-burner version. There were instances where the instructions said to put something together and referenced a part, but the pieces had already come pre-assembled, so I spent a good deal of time trying to make sense of the directions and the parts that I had. Once I realized that I could skip ahead a few steps, putting it together was easy. Getting the grill out of the box is certainly easier with 2 people, but building it really only takes 1 person. Overall, it took me about an hour to get the grill built, largely due to deciphering the installation guide.
The FORCE:
I'd love to make a quip here about the force being strong with this grill, because it is! Unlike my older, stainless steel grill, the FORCE is made of aluminum. The lid is also noticeably shorter than my other grill because the FORCE is a simple, 2-burner setup. No top rack, no rotisserie option, just a grill. What I also noticed was how close the flame jets were to the grill plates. There's no heat shield to disperse the heat like other grills. This might seem like a draw back, but in practice, this grill is a monster. Under the grill, you can install 2 optional storage trays for items like a grill brush or other accessories. The side has a base and securing strap for your propane tank. You need to make sure the strap is secure because that's what holds the tank in place.
The Heat:
I wasn't joking when I said this grill was a monster! Here's what I mean - when I would go to preheat my old grill, I'd start it up and then wait for about 5-10 minutes before it would get to around 400-500 degrees. With the FORCE, as soon as you start it with the lid closed, you'll notice the temp gauge starting to move. No joke, this thing got to about 400-500 degrees in less than 2 minutes. Because this thing heats up so quickly, you will have to adjust your cooking time if you're used to a grill that takes forever to heat up. I grilled some lamb chops and steak and where I'd normally cook it for about 6 minutes a side on my older grill, I was able to have them all done in that same amount of time.
The Verdict:
The FORCE grill is a premium grill and I have no doubt that it'll hold up better and last longer than my older grill. At it's price point, it's up there with other grills like Weber, but I like the look and power of the FORCE. It's got a sleek, minimalist design. The Everdure site has a ton of grilling advice and guides to make you a better griller. I'm looking forward to the warmer months, where I expect I'll be using this on a weekly basis. The fact that it also came with a nice, thick cover was a great bonus as well since grill covers don't last too long under the Texas sun.

Gorgeous Grill - Cooks Great - Difficult to Build

This Everdure by Heston Blumental – FORCE Gas grill is a work of grilling art. It’s beautiful. It’s really well made of high-quality parts. It cooks amazingly well. I’m confident we’ll enjoy great food prepared on this grill for years to come. Did I mention how beautiful it is?
Here are my thoughts on what is great about this grill:
The grill comes in two large boxes. One box with the grill and grill cover already attached and the other box contains everything else. The grill portion is already put together. The Venturi (fancy-dancy word for the gas burners) is already installed as are the two electronic ignition igniters. This is the one part of the assembly I really appreciated. Read below however, for my thoughts on the rest of the assembly.
The grill cooks great. Amazingly GREAT. We’ve had some nice grills in our time, but this is a standout. It should though at this price point. It heats up quickly. It cooks fast. When you first start using the grill, you should keep an eye on the built-in thermometer and the food. If you’ve used lesser grills, this will cook your food faster. It has 22,000 BTU (British Thermal Units) and I don’t know what they did with these BTU’s but man oh man are they efficient. And it features electronic ignition, so you’ll never have to replace a battery and spark plug on this puppy, like other grills use.
You have 381 square inches of cooking area and the grates are made of vitreous enamel cast iron. This makes them easy to clean after grilling and unlike lesser grills, should last a lot longer too.
You have a fold down, side shelf, but it doesn’t hold much. It took me a while to figure out how to raise and lower it, but once you figure out you slide it towards you and then up or down, it’s easy.
There are two rubber ribbed shelves under the grill, which you can store lots of things on and since the grill comes with a high-quality grill cover, they won’t fly away in wind or rain. The grill cover, like the rest of the grill reeks of quality. It’s not a cheap thin plastic cover and should hold up to the elements quite well. It also has Velcro ties on two sides to tighten it to the grill more snugly.
The grill stand legs are aluminum and two of the legs have industrial grade wheels, so you move the grill around easily when you want to cook and roll it right back when you’re done.
If you prefer, you can use the grill as a table-top grill and just not attach it to the legs or shelves.
Now, what didn’t I like:
I’m actually jealous of the reviewer who suggested they put it together in an hour. If only we were that lucky.
The instruction manual is in a word, awful. I read it over and over and over and still did not get it. I will admit we are not the handiest people, but I may as well have been reading a manual written in Greek. The bolts and washers come in one plastic bag. Some are silver. Some are black. Yes, the instruction manual assigns a part number and size, but not a part number or size I could figure out. And while they say how many of each bolt you should have the numbers didn’t equal what we had as they threw in extras. It took trial and error and some logic to guess a black bolt and washer must attach to a black part and a silver bolt and washer must attach to a silver part. These parts should be packaged in individual packets, clearly marked as to what they are for.
The first step says to install the handle. So far so good, right? It goes downhill from there. Step #2 says (quote): “The hood and barbeque chassis assembly is transported screwed to the stand top by four M6x0.8in (20mm) screws and four 00.2in (6mm) flat washers (two at the front and two at the rear). Before attempting to build the stand, the stand top should be removed.” OK, what? First of all, the stand top is NOT attached to the stand bottom. So, a good 30 minutes was wasted trying to decipher this gibberish before it finally dawned on us this step didn’t require doing anything to begin with.
Step #11 in the manual is all about a part called a Match Holder, which has 4 different pieces. We didn’t get this Match Holder, and nowhere in the manual does it actually explain what said Match Holder is or does. I had to reach out to Everdure to find out its not included in US models and it is not a part needed to operate the grill anyway. The manual should have said something simple like, Not Included in US Models. Another 30 minutes was wasted trying to find the parts in all the packing materials which by this time were broken down in large trash bags. Make note of this if you buy this grill so you don’t go crazy looking for a part you’re not supposed to get nor evidently need.
Honestly, if you’re not handy like us, you might want to pay someone else to put it together for you. I wish we had. It would have made for a much less frustrating afternoon.
Otherwise, it took us more than 2 hours (still not a lot of time, I know) to build the grill. And with the build process out of the way, the grill itself is honestly fantastic. It started right up the first time and it cooks better than any grill we’ve ever owned. I guess the old saying no pain no gain applies. It may have been painful building it. But in the end, we have a grill which is a work of art, exceptionally well made and should provide years of grilling happiness.
Note: This is a 5 Star Grill. I’m taking a star off because of how difficult it was to build.

In the week we've had this thing we've grilled more than we have the previous year. It simply makes you want to grille. Not that our other grille wasn't up to snuff, it was just that it was very basic, took forever to warm up, and not all that rewarding in the end. But, I guess the saying "you get what you pay for" applies here.
Because at first I really scoffed at the price tag. But, after putting it together (more on that shortly) I noticed an immediate difference in the feel of the materials used. Everything has a nice weight to it, giving off that feel of quality. Right down to the included cover which is very thick. The one area where I do not notice this is unfortunately one of the main touch-points; the gas adjustment knobs. These are plastic and have a very flimsy play to their connection. For this I deducted 1/2 a star. That aside, everything else is top-notch.
The Everdure Force showed up in two large boxes on a pallet. After getting everything opened and out I noticed the instructions are very limited. Parts/Pieces aren't labeled and you need to make sure you double/triple check while putting things together as the drawings do not zoom in, point out, reference whether an item is facing left, right, screw holes down, etc etc etc. For this I deducted the other 1/2 of a star. *I'd also like to point out that this might be a moot point as these units are so early in the production process (DEMO units) that a completely overhauled instruction/promo material might be in the works by time full/mass production starts.
Heating time is almost non-existent, especially relative to the aforementioned "other" grille. Once you open the valve, ignite, and close the lid I'd say you are probably up to 350-400 degrees in 2 minutes. So once you get it all together and see the end product and think, "Really? That's it?" Give it a moment to do what you bought it for; grilling. Because that's happened to me, I was very underwhelmed after the ~1hr it took to get it all put together. Then we put the food on.
I ended up ordering the warming wrack and 3-piece "BBQ Tool Kit" but have yet to be able to use them as they literally just arrived this afternoon.
Also; I've love to know what sort of invisible propane setup is being used on the promo photo of the box. Jokes aside, the Everdure Force is an easy recommendation if you can overlook some (very) minor things.

Great Cast Iron fast cooking grill
|

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
This is an excellent grill that can cook a decent amount of food at once. It really takes grilling to a new level with cast iron grates, more even and closer heating. I felt like it was almost the perfect grill.
Setup: Overall was about 1 hour of time and required just a phillips screwdriver. The instructions were very unclear and I needed to just figure it out. That is why it took longer as I had to reassemble several times to get it right.
Pro's:
Fast Cook Time
Even Cooking
Feels like it used less propane than my other grill
Cast Iron Grates (Make it easier to move food)
Heats fast after opening lid
Small and simple
Con's:
Plastic base and strap for propane tank made the grill feel cheaper.
Base had Quality control issues and required tweaking
Metal to Grill chipped easily
A little extra work to clean especially the grates.
Summary:
I loved the fast cooking and the food just came out awesome. Some of the best I have had in a long time. We heated to 400* in under 5 min. I cooked 1" NY Strip Steaks in 7min 30 sec medium well. Hot dogs and burgers cooked faster than standard grill. The Grill can really cook a lot at once. Look at the attached pictures for examples to see for yourself how much food can fit at once. I would say you could cook for 4-8 people easily. I liked the flush grates to the grill lid. It made turning food over easier. I would definitely say if you are looking to cook more than burgers and dogs then this grill will cover anything else you can do to open your grilling options.

A very good gas grill

I will start my review with the conclusion because I want to provide as much detail as possible regarding my rating yet inform those who are considering this grill and short on time, by that, I mean that you have already looked at all your grilling choices and decided that you want a gas grill and not a pellet grill, charcoal grill or smoker and just need to know whether to dig deeper into this option.
Everdure by Heston Blumenthal (a British celebrity chef) product line is from an Australian company which introduced their grills into the US market in 2019. The Force grill is marketed as 1) attractive - which it is, 2) built from high end materials (die-cast aluminum instead of stainless steel), which it is, and 3) capable of heating up in 5 minutes, which it does. For someone looking for a gas grill which will allow you to grill a meal for a few people in a short time. this is your product. It is not inexpensive, but it will probably outlast many of the usual DIY grills that sell at the big box and home improvement stores.
The aesthetics feature clean lines and a variety of colors, so the design will stand out from most grills made and marketed in the US.
The main reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the lack of adequate US support and preparation for the US market shows in a couple of ways. For starters, the order took over a month to be sent by the fulfillment center in California. The grill arrived in 2 large boxes on a wooden pallet. The description of the contents did not match the written instructions nor the instructional video online. The latter tell you "The hood and chassis assembly is transported screwed to the stand top...Before attempting to build the stand, the stand top should be removed." This was not the case in my grill, and I did not need to disassemble anything before starting to build the base.
In addition to the instruction booklet, there were several additional pages thrown in the box to clarify certain assembly points. I am guessing these were thrown in at the order fulfillment center in an attempt to help US customers build the grill according to the way they shipped it, which does not match the online videos nor the instruction booklet as you will see below.
The screws all come in two bags and are not individually marked - these folks could learn something from IKEA. You should take time to separate, count, and label the screws, washers, and spring washers according to the packing list on page 13. The photos of the screws are not to scale. Do not be surprised if you have extra screws, as I did, and hopefully you will not be shorted because there is no US phone number for support, only an email address ([email protected]).
As you build the base, I found that some of the holes did not line up precisely - manufacturing tolerances are clearly off. There is one glaring error on Step 3 which tells you to mount the bottom supports before inserting the top supports. The top supports will not fit if the bottom supports are locked in place. The only way this could make sense is if you interpret “bottom” to mean the lower support as you are looking at the upside won base as you build it. Again, the online video omits any reference to these “aluminum wires” and shows the grill built without them.
This alignment issue shows up again in the alignment of the vales (see my photo) which are pre-assembled.
I saw several descriptions online for the gas cylinder support. I received the kind with a single band that holds the tank to the stand – good enough but not as stable as more traditional designs. It also does not match the cylinder hook and metal chain which is shown in the online assembly video.
Page 17 of the instructions refers to a “matchstick.” I did not receive one. Given that the grill operates with “rotary ignition” (piezo). Since most piezo starters have no user-serviceable parts and given my concerns about their support in the US, I am concerned as to what will happen when this starter fails, as all piezo starters eventually do. Will I love my Everdure grill enough to pay for all the maintenance that will eventually accompany it?
They do include a disposable aluminum “fat tray” comparable to any disposable tray you can buy in the supermarket for about a dollar. You can buy Everdure replacements which list for almost 5x as much. They do have their logo embossed; however, it is under the grill and therefore never visible.
Now we get to the grilling -
As I said, the grill does indeed get hot fast, to 500 degrees F in less than 5 minutes. This also means the grill top gets very hot, so be careful with it. The grill surfaces (grates) themselves feature “flame tamers” which means there is solid metal directly above the holes in the manifold, so that no direct flame touches the surface. I like this feature and I found that there were no flame-ups. The company also claims that the rounded corners create convection heat allowing for even cooking. I did not find this to be the case. Items in the center cook faster than items along the edges. Part of the reason may be that, as quickly as the grill heats up, it also cools down quickly when the cover is opened. A simple lift to check on your steak will take the thermometer down to 250 degrees F for a few minutes. I tried cooking over the entire surface on my first grilling and found it to cook unevenly from front-to-back.
I cooked my steak over the left burner, and it turned out very well. Overall. I am pleased with the ability to choose to grill something on short notice and have a 500 degree F surface ready to go in 5 minutes – it took me loner to get my steak ready. You can see the accuracy of the flame controllers which is better than I have seen in almost any grill.
I am also curious about the promotion of steel utensils, both on their website and in the videos. The instruction manual states: “The enamel coating can be damaged by steel utensils. Damage to plates and grills due to the use of metallic or sharp objects will not be covered under the warranty. It is recommended to use silicone cooking utensils…”
Bottom line: the question a potential buyer will have to face is, given the huge selection of gas grills available in the US market, many made in the US and sold at half the price of the Everdure, are the unique aesthetics, quick heating, and potential longevity of the die-cast aluminum body worth the money, especially given that there appears to be a lack of support beginning at the fulfillment center?
Perhaps with improved customer support, starting at the order fulfillment center and extending through after-sales service, the answer could be “Yes.”

I feel this item is overpriced. I will admit it is very nice looking and a great concept. But, when we went to complete the final task of lifting the side table, we noticed there was a crack in the notch and on the back left corner which made it very difficult to complete. Now we have a very expensive Barbeque with a crack in what was supposed to be a heavy duty non rusting product. This is why I gave the product 2 stars.

I've never really had an actual good, or in this case fancy, grill like this one and was super excited to try it out. Full disclosure, I'm not a great griller, much to my wife's chagrin. It's not for lack of trying, I just tend to either overcook things or not be able to get the temp right or any other number of things. Looking over the features of this grill, I became optimistic all that might finally change.
Before I could try though I had to put this thing together. The main body of the grill was simple enough, and was mostly already assembled, less the handle and thermometer. The stand however was another story. It eventually all came together, but not without little tweaks and pulls here and there. The instructions didn't help either, as they were just a little bit off and seemed to be from an older model, even completely leaving out where one set of 4 screws were used. I ended up going online to see pictures and video to make sure I had it right. Especially for the aluminum wire, which has to be bent in order to get them to fit between the legs. The instructions actually show these being straight, but in several videos I saw that they did indeed have a bend in them. Also, all the hardware was mixed up in a bag, and the parts drawings weren't exact or to scale so it took some time to figure out which screws were used where.
Once setup I decided to have a dinner party for my family, my bubble. I grilled up a couple filets and salmon. But before getting them going I lit it up and wow did it heat up to temp fast. Putting the first filet on the cast iron grill the sizzle sounded so good my confidence instantly shot up I might actually get it right for once. It actually didn't take long to cook everything as this grill gets REALLY HOT. The filets came out tender with a nice sear and the salmon was cooked perfectly. I was quite proud of myself actually, but also know that I couldn't have done it without this grill.
Be careful with the heat though, I'm not kidding when I say it gets REALLY HOT, even with the burners set as low as they can go. There's even a warning that leaving the burners on high with the hood down can cause it to overheat!
Then comes a big downside, cleaning. I realize cooking, whether on a grille or in a kitchen, requires cleanup, but its a bit more tedious with this grill. To properly care for this grill, and you'll definitely want to seeing as how expensive it is, you can't treat it like any old cheap grille. You can't just leave it until the next time you turn it on, heat it up and scrape the metal grates with a wire brush. No, for this you have to be meticulous about it. The cast-iron plates the most, because if you don't clean it while it's still warm, any remnants will cement onto the plates as it cools.
This is a shame because this grill works so great for cooking food, you'll find yourself wanting to grill up anything and everything you can! But then you realize the hassle it can be to clean and you end up passing on the grill. Just yesterday my wife was getting some chicken ready for fajitas and I was like "Oooh, I could throw those on the new grill!", to which she then said, "are you gonna clean the grill when you're done?". Yeah, the chicken ended up getting fried in a pan on the stove.
But when it comes to having gatherings or grilling up some steaks where the results are more than worth the cleanup, then this grille is absolutely amazing in what you can do with it.
To sum up, when it comes to cooking, this by far exceeds every other grill I've ever had and has turned me into a decent griller. It even gets me excited about wanting to grill! It absolutely gets a full 5 stars on that front. But while the quality of the grill itself is decent, there's just a bunch of little things, like screws not fully aligning, the lacking instructions, some of the materials, the play in the knobs, the burner gas lines hitting the base when switching from tabletop to base. On their own not a big deal, but added all together, makes it feel like there were some corners cut in the manufacturing process, which you wouldn't expect with a pricy grill like this one. Add in the issues with assembly and the chore that is cleaning and it falls just a bit short. It's still a great grill that is hard to beat when it comes to what matters most, and I definitely see a LOT of grilling in my future.

PROs
- Great style
- Parts are durable
- Runs hot
CONs
- Assembly instructions confusing
- Part tolerance makes some assembly difficult
- Wheels are difficult to control when moving
Overview
This grill boasts a design that is both classic and modern. While the assembly instructions are difficult, the performance of this grill makes it worth suffering through with good distribution of fire and high heat.
Assembly
The grill comes in two separate boxes, one houses the top grill unit, while the other supplies the legs and trays. Everything came well packed in styrofoam and plastic. Assembly took the better part of an hour. I found the instructions very confusing and out of logical order. An example of this is attaching the legs before the support bars, at which point attaching the support bars becomes impossible, unless one slips them back out. The screws and washers did not come labeled and part of the grill was already assembled resulting in a tally of screws and washers that came up short leaving me uncertain if I had all the parts. Additionally, some of the tolerances of the molded plastic parts are off making some of the screws difficult to drive. In the end the grill came together, and I had all the parts I needed, but if tolerances to parts were improved, fasteners were labeled, and instruction order and illustrations where re-evaluated I think customers could be much more confident in their assembly.
Style/Quality
Assembly instructions aside, the grill boasts a style that is both modern and classic. The unit has two sections which are individually controlled. It’s compact thanks to the side surface which can be folded when not in use, but it’s also large enough to prepare food for a family of 6 or 8 in one go. An aluminum cast grill cover assists with retaining and distributing heat. The unit I got has a glossy grey finish that looks great and is sure to fit into any backyard or patio. Additionally, there is a gauge on the outside of the cover so you can monitor the temperature.
Four stainless steel legs angle away from the grill, finishing off the clean look. There are wheels on two legs to that you can pick up one side and move it around. The wheels rotate about the leg rather than being fixed which sometimes made moving the grill difficult due to it wanting to swing out left or right. Two plastic racks sit across the legs for storage with a rounded cutoff for securing the tank with the clip and belt. A drip pan fits underneath the grill above the racks to catch any grease. The unit came with a durable black cloth cover to keep the grill dry if you choose to keep it outside exposed to the elements.
Performance
This grill puts out some serious heat! This is partially due to the number of gas holes. When I first turned on the unit, I did not notice the flames and thought it wasn’t working. However, the flames are there and amazingly effective! I could easily maintain temperature, even on low heat. In our testing we cooked chicken, sausage, and steak, all of which came out perfect! The angled grill left nice aesthetic char marks on the meat for a great finish. This grill has the heat and surface area to serve up a lot of food making it great for people looking to entertain.

The Everdure FORCE gas grill is my first gas grill. Coming from a charcoal powered grill, I was a bit skeptical about losing that flavor that charcoal grills are known for. Before getting into all of this, I will move on to the assembly process.
The assembly process is my my only concern with the Everdure FORCE grill. If there was one thing that I could tell Everdure, it would be "less assembly and more cooking." It took quite some time to get the grill assembled. There were SO MANY screws needed to put things grill together. The best thing about this process was that you pretty much only needed a screwdriver to assemble it. Assembly took forever, which is my reason for the. four stars.
Aside from the assembly, the Everdure FORCE gas grill is great. One of my favorite features is that you can actually separate the grill from the stand, and can bring it along on a camping trip. It becomes a compact grill for camping, and for the home, drop it on its stand, screw it in place, and you are ready to get to grilling. Another great feature is that there are two very large trays on the bottom that really come in handy when grilling. There is room to strap the propane tank on the grill, and it has held up well. The style is great, and the performance was incredible. The temperature went from 0 to over 300* in about two minutes, with the lid closed. And this was in a low temperature knob setting. The grill fired up immediately and without hassle. I was on my way to barbecuing in no-time!
As for the grilling portion, the Everdure performed amazingly! I cooked thick cut steaks and grilled some boneless chicken breasts on my first try. I love how the Everdure gas grill immediately put beautiful grill marks on my food, and cooked everything evenly. Best of all, the flavor was there. This was one of my biggest concerns coming from a charcoal grill. The steaks were left so tender and juicy. I am by far not an advanced griller, but this Everdure gas grill just made it incredibly easy to cook on.
One more thing I will add to this is that there are attachments, sold separately, that may come in handy for some. This includes: a roasting rack, flat rack, and warming rack. I really wish that at least the warming rack would have been included with the grill, especially for the price, as these attachments themselves can really add up in price.
I am extremely happy with the Everdure FORCE gas grill. I would definitely recommend it to anyone in the market for a quality gas grill.

Skeptical at first, but the outcome was great.
So first of all, and installation took me about 1 hour. I am pretty good with putting things together so if you are not good at putting things together I would recommend that you pay for someone to do it or plan on taking a bunch of time to do it. Also the instructions are not very clear. Buyer be advised.
Now for the grilling.
I have bought other grills that cost hundreds of dollars and it did not do well. I ended up buying a cheap one 5 years ago and it has survived since.
So I am no stranger to grills.
Here are the highlights.
Large grilling area.
Quick preheat.
Fast cooking.
Comes with a protective cover.
Easy to move around.
Nice sleek design.
Juicy outcome.
Here are the cons.
Runs hot so if you don't keep and eye on the food it will burn. I turned it all the way down to low and it cooked my steaks super fast. Almost too fast. Lucky I was watching them.
Cleaning afterwards with mild soap and water is a bit difficult and tedious.
Overall. Really nice grill.
Interesting design. They bring the grill closer to the fire but control the heat with a smaller flame. The cover is also close to the grill so the convection really gets cancelled cooking.
Overall I would recommend this product.
Nicely done.

SET-UP
Initial set-up and assembly were easy enough. There are not a lot of parts to assemble, so total time from unboxing to initial use wasn’t much more than an hour. Having done it once, a person could easily knock that time down in half. The only thing that made the whole assembly process difficult was the poor documentation on the hardware supplied with the grille. The grille includes a bag of screws, washers, and lock washers. The instructions reference screws that are the same diameter, but only 1mm longer or shorter than their neighbors. Normally, it wouldn’t be an issue, but after assembling a bunch of items throughout my lifetime, having instructions that show the actual size of the bolt or screw is an absolute requirement in my book. While assembly was easy due to the design, figuring out the hardware was a pain in the neck and added unnecessary time and complication to something that should be straightforward.
DESIGN
The absolute best design feature of this grille is the fact that it is made from aluminum. Anyone that has owned a grille stored outdoors, knows that eventually the heat and elements take their toll. Whether it be the firebox, burners, cabinet, or something else, the intense heat from cooking, followed by the outdoor elements eventually cause the grille to rust and rot. Some are better made than others, but eventually it will happen.
This grille looks to stop the rot. The stand is a combination of fiber reinforced plastics with aluminum legs. The fire box is made from cast aluminum with a nice-looking finish on it. Inside are 2 stainless steel burner assemblies. Even the “wings” of the grille are made from aluminum to resist rot and decay. The only thing not aluminum, are the cast iron cooking grates. AWESOME!!! Gone are the days of grilles lasting a couple of years before they rust out and become useless!
USE
The grille lights will light on the 2nd or 3rd strike on every use. The burners put out a claimed 22,000 BTU’s and they heat up quick. A person can fire up the grille and be searing a good steak in a matter of minutes. The cast iron cooking grates add just the right amount of pattern and sear instantly.
As and added bonus, the grille comes with a premium grille cover. The cover is thick and durable and fits the grille and attached 15 pound propane tank perfectly.
NEGATIVES
The cooking grates do an excellent job at providing a top notch sear on your steaks, but suffer from other foods sticking horribly to them. Throwing a couple of turkey burgers on the grille resulted in quite a bit of meat loss from sticking. To be fair, this may be able to be reduced or eliminated by using some non-stick spray or maybe even as the grates get more seasoned. On a positive note, my steaks have never once stuck while searing, so time will tell as I attempt to cook more things aside from steaks and a few burgers.
The second negative is that large opening in the back of the grille. Most all gas grilles have an opening at the back. However, this grille has an opening roughly 3x larger than my current gas grille. This large hole makes it difficult to get a good cook on your food with a little breeze blowing. You must be cognizant of the wind direction and aim the grille appropriately. During my first couple of cooks using the grille on a slightly breezy day, resulted in flame-outs even on the highest heat setting. This is something that I never had happen on my much cheaper grille bought from Big Orange. I was also hoping the large vent would help control the heat in the unit while using it on the lower heat settings, something my current grille and I both struggle with. But it does not. Even on the lowest setting, I routinely see temps rising to 450 degrees.
Lastly, is the price. Does the aluminum construction of the grille really justify a 2 – 4 times price difference to a commonly available competitor? Time will tell. If this grille lasts substantially longer, then maybe. So, I am giving the grille 4 stars because of its unique design and sturdy construction. But, it honestly doesn’t do anything more or better than my current gas grille does.

A Grill in Another Class

Ease of use, durable, and room to cook, are some of the more important aspects of a good grill. This Everdure hits all those marks, plus it has a great, distinct look. I have only used this a couple of times so far, but I can already say this is going to be one of the most used devices at my house.
I am going to begin with the only negative thing about this grill, and that is the initial setup process. Assembling this grill took a while, I would say around an hour to assemble and dispose of all the packaging. One of the issues I had was that all the hardware used to assemble was pretty much in a plastic bag and was not labeled. I have assembled some other products where each different bolt, washer, nut, etc. is clearly labeled so you can breeze through the assembly. It would make a big difference if the instructions and hardware were a little more detailed. I even attempted to watch the video of the assembly, but it was not very detailed either.
Ok, now with that out of the way, on to the great stuff. The build quality of this is amazing, very sturdy, and has a simple design style to it. Everything just flows and works together very well, from the way the gas tank is held in place, to the way the thermometer and burner controls. This grill is not short on style and durability.
The actual grilling process is so simple. Open the tank valve, the burners have ignited usually on the second attempt, and the grill heats up very quickly. I am coming from a charcoal grill, and I love how quickly I can start cooking on this gas grill. I was able to cook everything on here at the same time I would have been waiting for the charcoal grill to get hot enough to start using. The two very large grilling areas with separate burner controls allowed me to cook just about everything at once for my family. All of this comes together to allow me to quickly grill up some great food and spend more time with my family.
This is an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a high quality, premium gas grill. My father-in-law who is a grilling guru came over and was thoroughly impressed by this, something that is not easy to do. This is a great grill, and I can see my family and I enjoying many delicious meals off it, and some great times cooking on here.

Grill Master

The first thing I noticed taking this barbecue grill out from the box is how nice it looks, it has a very premium feel, I consider myself a grill master and use my old grill pretty often, so when Evedure’s barbecue grill came in I was pretty excited to get started.
Right away I could see that the grill isn’t huge, but it does have some weight to it, which is a good thing to me, and how modern, sleek and premium it feels, Setting up was fairly easy and straightforward with instructions provided every step of the way. when I actually started grilling I noticed that that fire is actually very close to the grilling area, And unlike standard grills, the fire comes out in a pattern that covers a lot of the grilling area, thus getting more consistent temperature zones, as well as cooking the food fairly quickly.
Pros:
Premium build and quality, Overall the grilling area is quite large, I noticed that the grill warmed up pretty quickly from the moment I turned it on, the grill itself has some weight to it but it’s not super heavy, pretty easy to move around.
Cons
Pricey, besides that I haven’t ran to anything negative just yet... sometimes with grills you run into problems down the line but for now everything works smoothly.
Conclusión: this is a premium grill with a premium price to match, The grilling area is made of cast-iron while the stand is made out of aluminum, definitely better quality then the grills you find at the hardware stores which are pretty much made out of sheet metal.

The Everdure Force is likely an unfamiliar brand design by a chef you may not know. A quick Google search of Hesten Blumenthal will help provide some context of who exactly decided the regular grills we know are not good enough. The main complaint the Force and its larger counterpart aim to solve is not getting hot enough. Making a steak like the steakhouses requires high heat to sear in moisture. Some brands attempt to solve this by offering a separate infrared burner that requires you to use it separately, then turn it off and use the main part of the grill. These grills claim to do the searing and grilling using the same burners. They achieve this by moving the burners closer to the grill surface while pointing the flame directly up on a covered section of the grating to help control flareups.
Design
The best way to describe the overall appearance is, unconventional. Instead of heavy stamped stainless steel everywhere with a closed in cabinet, the Force is a blend of mainly aluminum and plastic. The lid is a heavy aluminum and comes in multiple colors and bottom is sloped metal with a nonstick coating to facilitate easier cleanup. The main part of the grill sits on a plastic base held up by aluminum legs. Storage is provided by open plastic shelves. Once assembled, it feels relatively sturdy but does not give the feel of heft of traditional grills available in the US. The liberal use of plastic and fabric makes one wonder how long the stand will last. The good thing is the main body is all metal and is completely capable of being used without the stand as a portable grill for tailgating or at a campsite. It could potentially also be adapted as a countertop grill for a back-yard kitchen.
Assembly and Operation
The main body requires very little assembly, only requiring installing the handle and the hose. The stand is a bit more involved but not overly hard except the instructions are overly complicated while at the same time being vague in important ways. An example is a list of fasteners at the beginning of the manual which does not match what is in the box, partly because it attempts to provide a list for more than one grill. Then, when providing assembly instructions, it depends on text descriptions instead of simple diagrams of what bolts and washers go where. As an example, washers are provided for the base, but the instructions only say to use them in two locations. One of the two locations only applies to half of the screws as well making things more confusing. There are two rods provided for you to install, but you must bend into place. It does not tell you if the rods should bend making you wonder if the rods were made too long. There is only one location where that length works so it is not a matter of improper installation.
While assembly instructions could use refinement, operation is vague. Admittedly, if you have used a gas grill the operation is straightforward, but it still seems strange, so little time is spent on instructing you on proper use. Overall, the instructions seem more as if they were written with a focus on health and safety versus proper assembly and operation. Perhaps this is the difference in regulations in Britain? The good thing is Everdure has several videos on YouTube that can help fill in the gaps for those that might be grilling for the first time. Hopefully Everdure will refine the manual and offer a downloadable version on their website. It would also be great if they even offered some of Hesten Blumenthal’s recipes that are achievable by the average person.
Performance
The worst enemy of grilling is wind with extreme cold being a second. Too much of either or some of both and all grilling is canceled. On the day the grill arrived, a cold front hit with winds gusting to over 25mph and temps dropping into the mid-40s. Granted, 40F is nothing for most grills but 25mph winds even on a warm day can kill the heat of quite a few grills. As a test, the standard 5-minute warmup was done and even with the winds the grill was able to reach 475 degrees F. Of course, this is not ideal for searing, but on testing the steaks still sizzled and smoked as if they were getting a proper sear. Although the top had to be closed for the remainder of the cooking, it surprisingly was able to hold high enough temps to cook two strip steaks better than a standard grill. Normally, during these winds the gusts can cause a current in standard grills which either causes the flame to go out or the safety in the tank to activate reducing flow. Surprisingly, the Force did neither of these. The flame was a cooler yellow, but it stayed steady and allow for reasonably confident grilling in what would seem impossible conditions. In fact, after searing the burners had to be turned down. This turned out to be less than precise as the adjustment from full heat to low occurs in just one quarter turn of the nob. Operation is smooth but ideally a larger range should have been provided to more precisely adjust the burners to your desired setting.
Cooking strip steak usually also means a fair bit of flareups and the Force was no exception. However, what was different was the flareups were much less intense and shorter. As the grease dripped by the flames it could still ignite, but since it continued to fall it burned out quickly. Through several grilling sessions with different greasy, fatty foods the same thing happened. Grilling those more tricky foods have become less stressful. What is nice is both the inside and outside of the base are sloped metal with a non-stick surface. Spills on the outside are easy to clean up and drippings on the inside are guided into a disposable drip tray.
Besides the liberal use of plastic, the grilling surface is probably the best and worst of the grill at the same time. It is heavy cast iron, which is great for strength and withstanding the heat. The downside is it is vitreous cast iron, meaning you should not use metal utensils or brushes. The instructions recommend silicone utensils, which is fine for the grilling. Foods usually stick very little so silicone works well for the task. The problem is when it comes to cleaning the grates. Even though very little sticks, food still gets on the grates. The instructions recommend cleaning them hot while the food is still loose, but where can you find a non- metal brush that works on a hot grill? This leaves you no options except to let it cool off and wash it with a nylon brush and plastic scraper. Their manual even suggests using their tools and utensils, which ironically are all metal. This makes cleaning the grates tedious as the food has solidified in what is nearly concrete on the grating once it is cold. There is always the old trick of turn the heat on high and close the lid to burn it all off. Unfortunately, not only does this not work, Everdure recommends against keeping it on high for extended periods with the lid closed as it would damage the grill. Unless Everdure provides a new procedure or tool, the current method is just cooking the remains until they are char. If buildup becomes excessive then they will be washed in soapy water.
Grilling Results
With the easy searing, low flareups, and easy release from the grating consistent grilling was easy to achieve. A good crust could be produced on a steak without overcooking the inside. Chicken could be heated quickly locking the juices inside so can easily full cook chicken without it drying out or ripping off when removing it from the grates. Salmon burgers seared very well producing a nice, thing crispy crust with a moist fully cooked inside and easily release from the grating as well. Of course, you will not get the flavor or charcoal or wood but its far more convenient. Hopefully, as weather permits the grill to achieve high temps the possibility of chargrilled foods can become a reality which can make up for the lack of charcoal flavor.
Final Thoughts
The Everdure Force is a unique take on grilling and solves some old problems of most grills and possibly introduces some new ones of its own. Hopefully, future versions will cut down on the usage of plastic for something that is designed to stay outdoors and be around high heat frequently. That said, the Force combines the convenience of cooking inside with more of the taste of steakhouse cooking. If the design interests you, you might look at its big brother, the Furnace, before making your final decision as it also has an option for a teppanyaki plate as well as the flat plate offered for the Force. If you like the idea of being able to produce the grill marks, thin crust, and moist interior of a steakhouse steak with little fuss, the Everdure Force might be a good fit.

I think this Everdure by Heston Blumenthal - Force Gas Grill is close to be a big competitive to other high end brands out there in the market.
Pros: Great construction on well-designed “very sleek”, grill weight is acceptable and easy to move around using the two casters equipped on one side, grill grates are cast iron which provides fast, hood and bottom body is one piece seamless which, gas control is easy, and the option of making it portable grill to place on table is awesome to save place.
Cons:
Installation is kind of confusing as instructions are unclear and I had to pay attention and dissemble and reassemble parts two times until I figured it out, grates require a careful placing as both should sit on small tabs on sides of the interior body where they actually sit, but if you misplace them without a careful adjustment you end up having gaps.
Overall, it is a great grill in terms of quality and design and the Everdure branded - cover is high quality.

Set up: I built the grill alone in about an hour. The directions are not too great and I had a hard time on a few things but it's common sense where things go.
Experience: The grill heats up very quickly. It is insane how fast it got to 400 degrees. My burgers were cooking in less than a minute. The 2 burners are plenty for a nice family BBQ and my first grill session was perfection. The grill is also easy to clean and ready for round 2 whenever it needs to be used again. The mount for the 20lb tank seemed sturdy and secure with the built in strap that hugs the tank so it doesn't fall off. The package also comes with a cover for the grill which is great for storing purposes when not in use. Overall, this grill is the best I've used and I can't wait for backyard BBQ's all year long!

I've had expensive grills, I've had cheap grills - none of them cooked quite as well as this one.
From ignition to 400 degrees was faster than any grill I've used.
The grill plates come off easily and clean up quickly in the sink without scrubbing or harsh chemicals - just use soap and water. It's also fantastic for cooking vegetables and keeps too much flame from reaching your foods.
Ignition is exceptionally quick and easy - just turn the knob until it clicks and the flame lights.
The main top section of the grill is easily removable from the legs and stand and has it's own legs for portable use - tailgating anyone?
Fantastic grill !

This grill is Fire~!
When the package arrived 2 large boxes stacked and banded to a small skid that required a lift gate delivery from FEDEX, I thought "this is going to be awesome!" and it has been. The grill came shipped with the base, legs, and cover in one box, and the actual grill in the other larger box. After opening everything and thoroughly reading the assembly instructions my son and I meticulously assemble the grill like we were handling a fine piece of art. I do not make this comparison to be silly but to drive home the beauty and sophistication of this modern design. I wanted to make it perfect to respect the vibe. Even with my flare and attention to detail assembly was fairly easy but did take a touch of doing. I would rate the assembly a 4 in toughness on a scale of 1 to 10. With 1 being just plug it in and 10 being IKEA. I did have to get a new propane bottle for this unit, but I think I will have our builder professionally mount it in our next patio with natural gas. The grill aside from being a small work of art is multifunctional and can easily be converted from a backyard standing grill to a tabletop grill by removing only four screws. The top, sides, and legs are aluminum but the base (that the grill sits in for the easy conversion) and underneath racks are an extremely hard plastic. From there it was just a quick trip to the grocery store for an ample supply of meats and veggies and of course the fresh propane bottle. I hooked up the propane checked for leaks and the grill fired right up. The heat was noticeable immediately and takes little to no time to be at "Cooking" ready. The steaks pictured (NY strips and which were FANTASTIC) took longer for me to prepare than for the grill to get to my preferred cooking temperature. I have cooked a touch of this and that so far and I have heard no complaints probably because the mouths were full. Aside from steaks my favorite dish we have made, fully utilized the dual burner by cooking shells & cheese at a lower temp on one side and on the other side fresh grilled chicken and bacon chunks on high that we put in it. We then closed the hood and let it bake for about 20 minutes, again fantastic.
The only two thoughts I would offer the manufacture is the shelves could have been made from a different material. As well as the strap and buckle that hold the propane.
Aside from that, this grill cooks beautifully, looks beautiful, and is already a conversation piece in my backyard.

Restaurant quality sear marks

So far, I’ve grilled ribeye steaks and chicken breasts, and although the chicken cooked a bit faster than expected and got a little over done (my fault not the grills), I was very happy with the cook on both meals.
The chicken did stick slightly to the grill so next time I’ll likely coat with olive oil before throwing on the grill. The steaks cooked beautifully. I ended up searing on high then moving the steaks to one side and removing heat from that burner, allowing them to finish cooking with the lid closed and the other burner on high.
My wife commented that the searing, particularly on the chicken looked like it was straight out of a restaurant grill, and was definitely more impressive than my previous grill.
Assembly of the stand was a bit of a headache, with some holes not aligning perfectly and the instructions requiring some guesswork to complete. I was able to get it together though, and since assembly is a one time thing, it’s not something that should dissuade someone from looking at this grill as an option.
Overall, as you can see from the photos, the grill feels more minimalist than the traditional cabinet grills I typically find. Its also built to be usable without the stand as the top cooking surface has its own set of legs. This wasn’t useful for my setup personally, but I suppose it’s nice to have more flexibility in where you could potentially install it.
The grill definitely feels like a quality product, and the materials it is built from should hold up well to the elements.
At first, I was concerned the size would be too small but I could fit 6 steaks on the grill at one time and I’d rarely need more than that. The size of the grates were perfect to fit in my kitchen sink for cleaning, which was an added bonus.
My grill also came with a high quality, fairly thick grill cover, which I appreciated and will be making an effort to use to preserve the life of the grill.
Overall, I’m happy with the Everdure grill. It heats quickly and sears well.

I love this grill. It took me about an hour to put together but that was an hour that was well worth it. It’s got a beautiful design, it’s put together well with high quality material, and it cooks great! The stand is solid and provides two shelves of storage. The burgers and skirt steak I just made came out great.
I’m really pleased with this acquisition.
