Newer cards have come out since this one, but none yet have managed to hit the price to performance sweet spot the way the 970 has. The 3.5+0.5GB debacle was a mountain made out of mole hill, as in most gaming today you're not going to hit the 3.5GB limit, and by the time you are, it will be time to upgrade the card anyways. I game at 1440p but don't play a lot of the newest AAA titles, and have had no issues. Low power during idle, fans that don't kick up in speed unless I want them to. I bought two cards, and bothOC'd to a minimum of 1490/7600.

Went from onboard graphics to this, and, of course, the increase in graphics performance is enormous. But what was surprising was the power consumption and noise. At idle, my system is barely using any more power than it was with the onboard graphics, and the card is silent. The fans don't spin up until the temps climb, but the card is so efficient that even during a stress-testing benchmark, the fan noise was very low. Only downside is the price; you pay a premium with NVIDIA.

This is a great card for the price, plays my games at over 100 FPS on ultimate setting (Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm, World of Warcraft, Diablo 3). The HDMI output is great, as I have it hooked up to my TV. Pros- -Great card for the cost. -HDMI output for use with TV screens -4 GB dedicated ram -While under 60 degrees (C) the card is silent. Now for the downside; -Does not have a perfect comparable model, so no price-match on the one that has the same specs from Newegg. -Not all 4 GB of ram is usable, only able to use about 3.5 GB. -Coil whine, I had to limit my FPS to about 90 on my games or else the games will run at around 160 FPS and will cause the fans to max out. -Extra software needed to enable some of the finer features of the card. It isn't a big deal, but it does add 3 extra icons to my screen.

Although slightly more expensive through Best Buy than other (online) retailers, it was still priced very competitively compared to earlier generations. This thing FLIES compared to my previous card, a GTX 580. Very happy with this purchase, as well as the chance for future upgrades (EVGA Step-Up program, check it out!)

I generally stick with the 60TI series of cards. I even tried out the 960ssc before I decided to return it and pick up the 970. The bump in power running (3) Dell s2415h's in surround was on average 15 fps bump in most things I played. Saw a larger increase when not using the surround and just using one monitor. Worth the bump in price from the 960, and I don't feel the need to jump again to the 980. Happy with my purchase.

Got this to replace my recently deceased AMD HD7870. Was looking to spend around $300 but went for this one when I was able to get it a little cheaper than it was at the time at $349. This beast will run Battlefield 4 all Ultra at around 110 fps. I have it paired with an i5-4670k and ASUS Z87-A MB. Would recommend to anyone.

Runs everything I throw at it at max settings. Tons of memory so you can run AA if you like. Fans are quiet, in fact I only heard them once I ran the Windows experience test which taxes all of your compenents. Never hear the fans while gaming even the latest games on max settings. The only downside is the price but at least it's not $600 or $1000 like the only 2 cards above it.

This card is excellent! It pushes all the pixels needed to play any game! I have triple 1080p monitors hooked on it and it does the job well playing almost all games high settings 5760x1080. I honestly couldn't be happier with this card. Doing the fire strike tests and all the others, my card appears to be in the 95th percentile for 970s. Would recommend this card.

My GTX 970 is a great card with near 4K quality on my aging ASUS Monitor. This has made my sons PC scream and plays every game he throws at it. The card if phenomenal for the cost - I got it on sale plus it came with a FREE Game, so HECK YEAH! buy it, you won't be disappointed.

The GTX 970 is by far the best value in a video card you can find right now. This card will play 90% of games at max settings while maintaining a very high framerate (60+) at 1080p. The new Maxwell architecture is extremely effiicient and under light load the card's fans don't even need to spin.

I have this card. It's been one of my better purchases the last year for sure. It's been great performer and I love that it runs passive most of the time. My only complaint is when I bought it there were no add in 'freebies' games or a backplate which they started offering just weeks later. I think this is the card to have if you are going for a 970. Not sure about the rest of the world, but in the USA these are often one of the cheapest choices as well, which always helps.

CUDA performance is excellent for SDR (Software Defined Radio) applications and others apps that can offload processing to the GPU. I drive 3 monitors with this and will eventually go with a 4K monitor. EVGA makes these cards in a number of configurations. The BB version with dual DVI is what I needed. If you need multi displayport look for another variant. You may see some older reviews about this card not having certain features of other EVGA GTX 970 cards (like dual bios). That' may have been true of older cards but mine does in fact have the bios switches on it for multi bios. They are located toward the rear on back PCB. I upgraded from a 460v2 and the performance difference is remarkable. I won't be upgrading for another few years unless there is some dramatic reason to do so. On sale and including The Division is a Nice savings/bonus.

I really like this card and it ran very well. But I have water cooling and have added the alpha cool water block to this card and it is running at 18c in Battle Field 4. I would buy this card again for the performance and price.

Fast & affordable graphics card. No excessive heat & very quite. Highly recommended. Modern games has high frame rates such as GTA V 80+fps @ 1920x1080, Battlefield Hardline 90+fps @ 1920x1080, & Far Cry 4 60+fps @ 1920x1080.
