Elliptical Assembly

Purchased elliptical and assembly from best buy. A couple days after the elliptical was assembled I noticed the left pedal started squeaking. I didn't think much of it but a little over a month later the left pedal came apart. The screws came off the pedal connector.

The two guys were very nice and professional. There was a little issue with getting the old elliptical out, they didn't want to have to take it apart. After they had the new one in, one guy left and the other stayed and put it together. he was fast and efficient. One of the handles wasn't tightened down but after looking at the instructions I was able to take care of it myself.

Installation of recumbent bike was delayed and rescheduled several times due to staffing shortage. Was delivered and assembled 5 weeks after purchase. Assembly staff was professional and assembled bike in timely fashion including haul away of old equipment.

Friendly and timely. Just wished they could have gone over maintenance with me. Apparently even though Nordic track tells you you need to do, but doesn’t tell more than wipe it down regularly.

I have never written a review before but this situation is beyond the pale and I don’t know how else to get Best Buy’s attention to solve this issue.
If I could give this 0 stars I would because my haulaway, scheduled for nearly a month ago now, has still not occurred. I have been repeatedly handed off to confused, unhelpful agents and dumped in the laps of the same two third party contractors who continue to insist that they will not haul away exercise equipment. This has taken 7 phone calls (including one more than 3 hours long) and been rescheduled now 5 times. I have point blank asked whether Best Buy can actually perform the Haulaway and been told yes. I have said “I just need someone to be honest with me and if you cannot perform the Haulaway please just tell me so I can be refunded and find a different solution.” At this point I simply want Best Buy to allow me to find a moving company who will actually perform the Haulaway and for Best Buy to compensate me for the cost of the Haulaway that they insisted they have repeatedly insisted they can perform but clearly cannot.
Long form details included below:
On August 30th our new elliptical arrived and was set up quickly and efficiently by two very friendly third party contractors. I was told by the installers that they could not perform the Haulaway and that Best Buy would follow up that same day (August 30th) to reschedule.
Best Buy did not follow up and when I called the next day, after explaining the whole situation, was told “oh that order was marked as complete, it will take 24 hours for our system to update before we can reschedule.”
When I did not receive a callback 24 hours later, I called again, had to re-explain the situation, and was told “oh that person was incorrect, it takes up to 48 hours for our system to update, you’ll definitely receive a call by tomorrow.”
I did not receive a call the next day so called again, explained the situation for a third time, and was finally able to reschedule the haulaway for the following week, Wednesday September 8th. This agent was very unprofessional, with several long (2+ minutes) of unexplained silence and several long (10+ minute) holds. At one point he whined at me that I wasn’t letting him do his job when I asked if he was still there after one of these unexplained silences.
I was called over the weekend on Saturday September 4th and asked what it was they would be hauling away. It was shocking to me that through the several phone calls I had had with Best Buy to that point, no notes had been taken as to what was being hauled away. When I explained, the third party contractor said they don’t handle exercise equipment and wouldn’t be able to perform the Haulaway. When they said they’d send it back to Best Buy’s system, I explained that I had already had several conversations with Best Buy and asked that they please get back to me that day with a new appointment time. To this third party contractor’s credit, she called me back less than an hour later with a new appointment time for September 9th.
On the 8th, I received an email that the servicers would not be able to come on the 9th due to injury of one of their team members and that they would instead perform the Haulaway on Monday the 13th.
On Sunday the 12th, I received a call AGAIN asking me to explain what it was that was being hauled away. I was again told that this contractor did not haulaway exercise equipment.
Immediately after hanging up with the contractor on the 12th, I called Best Buy. I AGAIN re-explained the entire situation very clearly and calmly. I said “to conclude, the machine we need hauled away is very old, very heavy, and does not come apart. The installers showed me where it is welded together. It will not come apart.”
This agent was extremely unhelpful and seemed confused by what I was asking. I said “I have just gotten off the phone with the contractors so your system likely isn’t updated but they have told me they will not be coming” She repeatedly said “but the system shows the appointment is confirmed for tomorrow.” This went on for the first half hour or so of our call. Then, when we got past that she seemed confused about what precisely I was asking for. She continued to say “so we need to uninstall and remove the equipment” despite me repeatedly saying no uninstall was necessary or possible (“again, the machine is welded together, there is nothing to uninstall.”), I simply needed the Haulaway.
Finally she suggested she would schedule with a local contractor. When I said “these are the local contractors who have said they will not remove exercise equipment” she again seemed confused, saying, “but it says in our system they will haulaway exercise equipment” and me repeatedly saying that I had confirmed they do not.
She insisted we call one of the contractors and I asked to be conferenced in. I expected the agent to lead the conversation. We waited on hold for half an hour and when someone finally picked up, the agent did not respond right away and the contractor hung up.
We waited on hold again and when a new person picked up I immediately started explaining my entire situation for what felt like the millionth time, again ending with “the machine is very large, very old, very heavy, and cannot be uninstalled in any way.”
After patiently listening, the contractor said that her company would not perform a haulaway of exercise equipment. The agent finally decided to join the conversation and said “but our system says you will do the uninstall and haulaway”. The contractor, an amazing advocate said, “this woman doesn’t need an uninstall! Just a haulaway!! And we won’t do exercise equipment, and I don’t know anyone in the area who will. Best Buy needs to do this one themselves!!”
At this point the agent said “ok, we’ll have a geek squad team do it.” I said “I do not think two people will be able to do this.” The agent seemed confused and I explained (again) it was very old and heavy and would need more than two people. She did not seem to understand and continued to recommend a two person team until the contractor broke in and again advocated for me, saying “this woman is telling you to send more people. She is trying to be helpful so your team members don’t hurt themselves. What is so hard about sending a 4 person team?” I so appreciated that person’s advocacy on my behalf.
We left the call with the contractor and the agent asked me to hold for “no more than 5 minutes” while she spoke to someone with Geek Squad. 35 minutes later she returned to say that they had rescheduled everything and that “it will be done by 2 separate teams, one team of 2 will complete the uninstall and then another team of two on a separate day will perform the Haulaway.”
At this point I asked to speak with her boss because at this point it was clear to me that the agent did not understand what I was asking for. To be clear, I did not need an uninstall. I needed a more than two man team to complete a haulaway. That’s it. She said I could not speak to her boss. I said “I am trying to be helpful in explaining this proactively. We do not need an uninstall. We need more than two people to complete a haulaway, again, this is a very heavy, large piece of equipment.”
She finally, begrudgingly, agreed to connect me to her boss. I once again explained the entire situation. I once again ended with “we do not need an uninstall. We need a haulaway for a very large, very old, very heavy piece of exercise equipment.”
I added “if Best Buy cannot perform the Haulaway, can you please just tell me so we can have a conversation about me hiring a moving company and you compensating me for those costs?”
This person said “oh, we absolutely can do the Haulaway. Our next availability for a four man team is September 22nd, is that ok?”
I agreed to that and said “so this will be a geek squad team, like from our local store?”
He unequivocally said “yes.”
I said “I just want to make really clear how heavy this machine is then, since they aren’t professional movers.”
He said it wouldn’t be a problem. This phone call lasted a total of 3 and a half hours.
On September 21st I received an email that they would not be able to perform the Haulaway on the 22nd due to team injury. I responded to that email saying “I want ensure you know that this is a very large, very old, very heavy treadmill. Will you still be able to perform the Haulaway?”
I have not received a response but for the purposes of this feedback form I’ve just gone back to look at that email and it is from one of the original third party contractors who had been unable to perform the Haulaway on September 8th or 9th.
My haulaway is now scheduled for Monday September 27th and I fully expect for them to call on Sunday, ask what it is they’re hauling away, and then inform me they don’t haul away exercise equipment.

The two employees who delivered and assembled my new exercise bike were polite, professional and very repectful. It took about two hours to assemble. It probably would have taken me 2 days.
I understand that this is new product line at Best Buy. There was an issue with connecting via bluetooth my iPad to the bike. They did the best they could understanding the lack of training that they received for this new product line. BestBuy needs to provide training to its employees for new product lines.
I was able to resolve the issue with the help of Nautilus support.

Paid for the install and it was worth it. They put it together, hauled off the old one and cleaned it all up. So glad I had them do it. Started using it the same day. Recommend.

The bike was delivered promptly but the guy who set it up had no idea of how to utilized it. They returned the next day and between the 3 of us we figured out how it works.

We are very happy with this purchase. It did take the Best Buy contractors 2 hours to set it up. It is working well so far - no noises as some have mentioned;
Definitely a tough work out. I'm pretty good with technology but it is not as intuitive as I thought it would be. I do have to refer to the manual from time to time.

Definitely worth the money to get this delivered and installed plus removal of old elliptical for us since we are older. Two guys had a lot of trouble getting the old one downstairs and the new one installed and carried upstairs!! They did a great job and although the staircase curved, there were no scratches or damage on our walls or on the new machine.

The crew that came to assembled my Schwinn IC4 exercise bike did a very quick and efficient job of putting it together. They were courteous and polite, careful to wear shoes protectors and masks. They cleaned up the disposed packaging and left the area clean. I was very impressed!

Installation techs brought the bike to my basement and set it up in the designated location. They also hauled away the old bike. Two techs came and they were quick and professional. The work area was clean when they left, and the techs wore masks the entire time.

Had my delivery schedule 4 weeks in advance for a Saturday between 7am-1pm. The service tech called a 1pm on the day the delivery was scheduled for and said it would be after 5pm before he could get to my home. I was also getting a treadmill with this bike, I asked him how long it would take to assemble both the bike and the treadmill. He did not even have the bike on the truck. He said he would be out Sunday by 9am. He called on Sunday at 8:30am and he said he could not pickup from BestBuy's dock until 9am. He arrived at 10:45am, very frustrating waiting around all weekend for something that was scheduled a month in advance. I did not get any walk through on the equipment, once it was assembled and the tech left.

The installation and haul away option was well worth the extra $$. The installers brought my elliptical machine down stairs, placed it where I asked and then assembled it. Then they hauled my old broken machine away.
It was ready for me to use right away!

The guys were great. They put it together flawlessly, including properly leveling it. They were courteous and answered all my questions clearly.
Nearly a year later things are still spot on. Will definitely use them on future items that require assembly.
